Story: in the near future, South Korea is now a dystopia: it has become the world's biggest economy, overthrowing the US and China, but that came with a cost. SK's family-owned corporations that rule the country, the "chaebols", have increased even further their influence over the country, and behind SK's economic miracle, the truth is: once people become 18, they are condemned to work 24/7. We follow a 17 year old man trying to spend his last 15 minutes of free time before he is entrapped forever in his work at "Samsam". Hello. I am working on my visual novel "Synthetizing Love" (click here to check out my devlogs and progress) for the Yuri Game Jam. This started as a solo project but, as it's my first game, I realized I can't do everything on my own. I'm current handling UI design, character design/sprites, writing the entire script and implementing everything in TyranoBuilder. Synopsis: Hannah, a young University student, spends her days leisurely with her friends Chikara and Yvonne until what seemed to be a forgotten memory from her past makes its way into her life once again. Will she lean on her friends to finally face her past and maybe find love, or will she keep on running away, losing everything she holds dear? I'm currently using free assets as backgrounds, but they come from different sources and the difference in style is extremely obvious, which is something I'd like to avoid if possible. Which is why I'm trying to recruit a: BACKGROUND ARTIST: I'm not looking for anything super realistic. Simple and stylized backgrounds would work really well, I think, but what matters most is that they somehow fit with the sprites' style. We can discuss about that anyway, so feel free to send me your portfolio even if you are unsure. This is a hobby project, so I can't afford to pay anyone, which I know isn't a great incentive (believe me, as an artist I know way too well what that means). Hi! I've been working on an RPG x Puzzle x Visual Novel hybrid called Nightmare Diary / Akumu Nikki since 2018. Since then, I formed a few teams to handle tasks that I'm not super confident in, or just to lighten the load on others. Most of these teams sadly wound up not existing after awhile due to getting hold of terrible people, but my current team, DreamerLabs, has been around since 2020 without issue! That said, I need artists on the team so we can have CG scenes for the game, and musicians to help lighten the load on the current musician, whom is suffering from burnout lately. As I have pointed out in the tags and in the title, this is volunteer work because of having a very very tight budget (at the moment, I only make about $6 a month from patreon, which is not enough to really pay anyone) When and if this changes, I will indeed pay people as well as I can. But right now that is not doable, as i'm sure you understand. If you're wondering "can I put my art or music in my portfolio in exchange for being a volunteer?" The answer is yes!
