  1. First of all, am I breaking the rule for started unreleased translated VN here? If so I apologize, but you know, since here is more lively than VNDB, I figure it's better if I tried to start a VN discussion here. Anyway, the VN is SakuSaku, or if you prefer full name is Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki. The premise is, may I said a word, is a little ridiculous, but we've never had bounty place on MC before, so guess it's a little interesting? From the visual aspect I must admit it was very refreshing and very good, so much that it earned many 10 on VNDB at the first time it was published there (Around 2014 when I tried to look at discussion section), although for now it's around 7.5 at VNDB and 71 at EGS (or according to VNDB is 7.1). From the opening, the song is very light and typical moege, so maybe the soundtrack will be typical moege as well. The interesting thing is that the seiyuu for each heroine will singing credit theme, according to VNDB. According to VNDB, here we had 5 routes. For heroines, MC could date his little sister, childhood friend, student council president, head of discipline committee, and love fairy. Yes, I didn't drunk when I'm writing love fairy. Believe me. For the seiyuu (Since I'd like to talk about seiyuu who voiced VN or anime character just in case someone want to ask why talk about seiyuu) we have Nakamura Yuuichi, Ai Shimizu, Kiritani Hana, and Satou Rina voicing side character. As for the heroine, the fairy love (Tina) seiyuu is very new in seiyuu world and childhood friend (Mio) and discipline committee (Yuri) seiyuu had quite nice experience in seiyuu (But the VN that had the caracter they voiced is still not translated yet). For student council (Ann), the voice is infamous headmistress aka Kitamikado Misako from Evangile, so infamous that someone here make a pointless thread of how headmistress is very evil and one of VNDB member going SJW mode and plead to us very obvious reaction for normal people that we should not judge Christian is evil because of headmistress. Sorry, still bitter about that, but please this is not place to discuss headmistress from Evangile. From 5 heroines, only little sister (Konami) seiyuu is the one with the most experience and she was voiced Asa back in Konosora and Koharu in Imouto Paradise. I think all of you better look at character section at VNDB here. Last section is for reviews. There were 2 reviews for this game. I think I would like to give some summary from the review, but if you didn't hate spoiler, go ahead and visit each review. Aedes - I think the conclusion would be that he hate love fairy very much (Looks like the love fairy in question was has some pet peeve trope for him) and he write down many spoiler. Joyjason - The conclusion is that the VN is quite mediocre, but could almost reached good eroge. Once again if you didn't hate spoiler or trying to find out what kind of VN is this before playing, go ahead. My opinion is that you better play for yourself, and if you want to enjoy it, just try to suspend your disbelief for Deus, plot, and character. And before I end this post, thanks to akerou for translating this VN, even though some people may find it unenjoyable and sorry for my bad English. Use this thread in future as Saku Saku thread. Oh and I'll not interfere to all member in regard of best girl in Saku Saku, although I think for now Konami's hat is nice.
  2. http://prefundia.com/projects/view/root-double-before-crime-after-days-xtend-edition-heading-west/7236/ TL;DR: They're asking for $120,000. Estimated delivery date is March 2016. The stretch goals are just for a fanbook and drama CDs. Interestingly, apparently Sekai Project is getting none of this money, according to the funding breakdown? All of the funds are going to Regista, Yeti, and Lemnisca. Maybe this will convince some of the SP haters to chip in? Lemnisca has proven themselves with I/O. That is a ridiculously complicated VN with complex narration and dialogue, and they translated it very well. Root Double was directed by Nakazawa Takumi, known as the director of the Infinity series (Ever17) and I/O. This is a pretty exciting project all around.
  3. PQube will publish Root Letter, Kadokawa Games’ PlayStation 4 and PS Vita mystery visual novel, in North America and Europe in 2016, the publisher announced. Root Letter is a youth mystery adventure and human drama set in Shimane Prefecture. In it, the player will engage an adventure to solve the mystery of Fumino Aya, a pen pal friend from high school who disappeared after leaving a mysterious letter. A letter delivered 15 years later. Root Letter will launch in Japan on June 16. Kadokawa Games announced earlier today that a demo willl also be made available in Japan on that date. source: http://gematsu.com/2016/06/pqube-publish-root-letter-west#HMbBqcgX00SGvarK.99 ~~ I thought this thing would be related to Root Double or somethin' cuz title, but apparently not. It's interesting to see PQube pick up something new to localize in addition to their STEINS;GATE 0 OMFG HYPER!@$@%#$^% . Prior to this they only had the BlazeBlue series on their record. We'll see how this turns out.
  4. 5. Finally a short update on Corpse Party 2 Chapter 2 Long story short, the progress on chapter 2 is moving slowly so please stay tuned. We don't need to be angry because if you're a fan of the original Corpse Party series, you know that this long wait is just normal thing. It also took them a couple of years to release a new chapter in the original game. Source: Twitter
  6. She works for Sekai Project so we can assume that this info is 100% true. Now the only question left is which panel he will attend. My bet goes to mangagamer.
  7. This time for AX 2016, Mangagamer tease 3 new partner which to said interesting. Any speculation for new partners here? As for mine, I'd already write about that since Anime Boston, although I'll add it here later.
  8. GET HYPE. Is it just me or has the whole English VN industry just been crazy booming this year? Hope this doesn't slow down soon...
  9. I've been working on a visual novel where you can play a full space game adventure similar to "escape velocity nova" or star control 3, but enjoy all the best of a visual novel. Choices that matter, romance, hand drawn character and background art. Demo: *Includes the entire first chapter http://www.indiedb.com/games/omni-link-space-visual-novel-action-rpg/downloads/omni-link-demo-space-visual-novel-action-rpg The non-spoiler version of the story is this: You start the game as a man of little consequence. The first chapter: "A Hero Will Rise" defines exactly what you become. There is something called "The Virus" which has awakened near the edge of the galaxy. People are painfully discovering that this is a real threat. The Virus consumes everything it touches. You encounter an advanced warship, and an explosion binds you with an entity known as Ectype D-8. You quickly learn that there is more to this ship and A.I. that meets the eye. The artificial intelligence is so advanced, she is able to absorb energy from other ships and duplicate them. As well as quantum burst, administer atmospheric regeneration, quantum entanglement, and of course...Omni Link. You find out about these abilities as you play. Your choices in the game affect what happens to the story and gameplay in meaningful ways. You'll discover this in the demo. What ships you acquire, who you save from the Virus threat, and what relationships of love, hate, and friendship you form. Who do you trust? I need a small amount of funding to pay the art/music artists involved: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/994920323/omni-link-space-visual-novel-action-rpg *This gives you chance to be a part of the game early on, and even design some content. since the background is black, my character descriptions don't show up Real-time tactical combat Choices that affect gameplay and story in minor and large ways Huge two path end game split Hand drawn character and background art Epic emotional music *Let me know what you think of the demo and story.
  10. So a youtuber that I sometimes watch (The Animeman) uploaded a video talking about why visual novels have been getting more and more popular over these past few years, in the past there were nearly no vns on Steam or other online stores and such, so why is it that they've been experiencing such a boost in popularity?. This is the video in question: I watched it and thought about sharing it with everyone here on Fuwa to see what you think about it.
  11. http://mangagamer.org/gahkthun/ Woot! I thought for sure that this would slip into 2016, but MangaGamer is managing to squeeze it in just before the year's end, getting it out there December 23rd! For those who don't know, this is the latest entry in Liarsoft's acclaimed Steampunk franchise, which also contains the popular fan translated titles Sekien no Inganock and Shikkoku no Sharnoth. They're a unique setting in VNs. Some of the games are set in fictional locations within the world, but some like Gahkthun, are set in early 20th century Europe, fusing together steampunk, fantasy, and science fiction themes with a hint of lovecraftian horror. The sky overhead is under a permanent blanket of smog, while the seas have been dyed black by pollution. Gahkthun takes place in Marseille, France in 1908, starring one Nikola Tesla. This shit couldn't possibly be more nerdy and I love it. Each game in the series is written by Sakurai Hikaru, notable for her poetic prose. This prose is something that was pretty much lost entirely in the Amaterasu translations of Inganock and Sharnoth, but Gahkthun's translation is being handled by Koestl instead. Koestl, known for his absolutely excellent Grisaia translation, is trying to preserve as much of the feel of the original work as possible. In case you can't tell, I'm super excited for this. I was a fan of the previous games and this one looks awesome. I really want it to do well so MangaGamer and Liar-soft wants to release the rest of the series and possibly other Liar-soft VNs as well. Anyone else excited for this?
  12. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-04-01/rewrite-anime-2nd-promo-additional-staff-unveiled/.100560 Sad because will have an originnal development, but will have some parts from the VN too, so i have expected this, because the game routes are too individual and too much larger for an anime. The good point: The Romeo Tanaka ( Rewrite creator) will create this originnal development so... atleast will be an logic history for rewrite. The bad: This is probably an signnal for a 12 episodes anime, atleast in imagination, but if i give a try will be an slipt cour. Edit: well i have forgot to say, this caracther design its too moe i think...well its only my opinnion.
  13. https://twitter.com/sfgp0408 Yeah, this is some of the weirder VN news of late. Front Wing is getting into the third party localization game, it seems. Sharin no Kuni getting an official release was a bit of an open secret, pretty much everyone knew about it to some extent. But everyone expected the one to bring it to us to be Sekai Project. Frontwing is planning a kickstarter, it seems. Much to some people's befuddlement. Maybe they'll actually bother retranslating it? Moogy, the old translation's editor, was saying that it needed one before getting officially released, so who knows, maybe that's why they need kickstarter money.

  16. So yesterday Denpasoft made a news post on their site saying that they too will be closing their steam key sales, though unlike Mangagamer it seems they will be disabling all the steam keys that were apperantly stolen. Here is a copy paste of the news post. "Complementary Steam keys removed from titles We have to remove Steam keys from titles that had Steam key support. Roughly $30,000 worth of keys were stolen from us and we will be contacting Valve to disable the keys that were fraudulently obtained. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but we must protect our relationship with our credit card processor or else we will not be able to offer adult games in the future." Whether this is linked to the same thing that happened to Mangagamer is hard to say. It seems to be a little bit of a different situation. Either way, it seems that problems like this is quite common right now. I hope both Denpasoft and Mangagamer can get out of this unscathed, though we'll see how it goes.
  17. On PS4/PSVita platform. A VN originated from a well received animation. I didn't watch the animation, I am looking forward to that because of the script writer, Urobuchi Gen, also the writer of Saya no Uta..
  18. MG blog post: http://blog.mangagamer.org/2016/02/15/pay-processor-issues/ tl;dr Because of people making fraudulent purchases in order to obtain Steam Keys and re-sell them, MangaGamer has been forced to remove their Steam Key offers for the foreseeable future until a better solution comes. It really sucks that people pull this kind of shit off. On top of that, because of the currently existing chargeback policies, whoever is returning the money is always on the losing end no matter what they do. I totally understand and agree with MG's move here and I even sympathize with them, but it's still sad I won't be able to get a Steam key to give to a friend (or giveaway) whenever I buy a game from them anymore. Really hope this helps mitigate the damage for them though.
  19. Heey guys I'm still somewhat new to all this VN and such, I have read them for some years, but sadly my japanese is nonexistent. I also do not know all that many sites to get info about VN and translation progress. I was hoping somebody knew something about the Grisaia series? The first one was from what I know fantranslated and the second was announced to be translated aswell as the third one. From what I have found, this was already back in 2013, so I would like to know if there is any progress on the matter? Any estimate of how long before a english patch for, in my case, the second comes out? Have a nice day:)
  20. https://vnrw.wordpress.com/2016/01/22/most-desired-visual-novel-translation/ So, I feel like this tournament is worthwhile to vote for because of this particular paragraph : " I picked 46 most highly regarded titles that I could think of (mostly with the help of erogamescape) that have yet to receive a translation. To make matters more interesting, both my secret project, and the game that I might be working on next ended up on this list, so we can see how those fare (maybe I can get away with more hints through this xD). Anyway, I wouldn’t mind translating most of these games, so show me which ones wouldyou rather want me to push for (your vote might count for more than you think)."
  21. Does anyone know where i could find progress information on how the translation is going for Grisaia no Mekyuu and Grisaia no Rakuen? the last thing i saw was Sekai project's kickstarter for the games but i went to their page last night and no info was around either only Grisaia no Kajitsu for sale on their web along with their other Vn's...So does anyone know anything about it?
  22. https://vndb.org/v18797 I want to talk about Blood Code a VN with Datng Sim element so you can buy throught Steam, since I have just buy the game myself. I just want to say it's very amazing game with unigue story and characther. Gameplay in the game are very amazing and I like how we can train the magic power. And I like mystery in the game to. So i have couple of question for there. 1. have you buy Blood Code? 2. What do you like about Blood Code? 3. What do you dislike about Blood Code? 4. Who it's your favorite characther? 5. Which characther do you dislike? 6. Do you have any feedback and critigue about Blood Code? That was all for now and I hope we can have fun chat about Blood Code. Novel21
  23. Lets hope its not a fake and that we get a english release
  24. So i heard a while back that a small translation team was working on them, so far this is the progress on A-1 and no news as of the other four thus far but i hope they'll do them all. https://skyspeartranslations.wordpress.com/progress/majikoi-a-1-progress/ I don't know if anyone else is as hyped as i am about this but i had to share it even if it's still out there somewhere, despite Majikoi S having a bit too much H i still love the series Thoughts on the series or project?
  25. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/goodgame/video/default.htm?src=/tv/goodgame/video/xml/20151208_2030.xml&item=02 (Scroll to "Pornography in video games" in the sidebar) A few of Nutaku's titles and Winged Cloud's Sakura Swim Club are mentioned.
