One of our fans mentioned he posted on this site and told me about it and I'm super happy to see how much support FuwaNovel offers for OELVNs! I suppose I should tell you a bit about the game. ZodiaX is in extremely early development. Currently, the game is targeted towards Yaoi audiences, though when we finally begin a KS, we plan to add a funding goal that, if met, will allow us to use a female character as the main protagonist. Ah also! The banner above is just our first designs of our characters. Already they're all going through changes; just wanted to give you guys a bit of an idea as to our very rough sketches. You can find all of our currently released characters, as well as their bios on our TUMBLR CHARACTER PAGE. FEATURES:: • 12 Romantic Pairings to Choose From! • 3 Routes for each Character! Some Romantic, some Lust-filled, and some Violent. • Over 36 Different Endings! Good, Neutral, and Bad for each character. • High-Def Still CGs! • CG Gallery & Scene Replay! • Gorgeous Original Character Models, Backgrounds, and Soundtrack! • Expansive Decision Making. • Your Choices Determine Relationship Status, Dialogue, Consequences, and the Outcome of the Main Story! We also hope to have partial or full voice acting for the game, but that's something we plan to address when we're closer to release. PLOT:: Your choices will play an absolutely integral role in the story. This game is a huge undertaking, and as there are over 36 different endings, we want to make each route as different as possible, so there's little to no repetition. We want to keep the replay value high, and offer our players the most interaction possible between characters. There will be an in-game meter that will keep track of your relationship status with each character, whether negative or positive. Each choice you make will cause that meter to rise or fall, depending on said character's preferences and feelings towards Aster. ZodiaX will have many different branches, and each character's route will intertwine with one to three others, so that the player gets to see different sides and facets of each character depending on who they choose to pursue. Not only will players make romantic choices, but they'll also be making big decisions that affect the world around them. Do you save a little boy, and let Voidwalkers destroy and kill a family-run shop? Do you sacrifice one of your friends to keep the Barrier up and Elune safe? Do you side with the Company and figure the world needs a reset, or do you simply choose to wash your hands of your hometown and run away with your lover? With a myriad of different decisions, we want to keep our players as engaged as possible. TIMEFRAME:: We estimate that making enough content for a demo will take 4 - 6 months, which is when we'lll begin a CrowdFunding campaign, and the full game [ seeing as how huge it is ] should be in early Beta within 12 - 16 months. ZodiaX was created by Noxius and Binary. The idea was formed in mid 2015, and they officially began working on the project in August of this year.   4. The Cycle of Magic - A Prelude is a free to play Original Visual Novel with a fantasy setting. It was originally meant to be a project submitted to the Summer Novel Festival a year ago, and therefore neither involves money or will surpass a play-length of two hours. The protagonist is Zevair - a tall, imposing demon male who is the last of his kind after a mass exodus that followed the supposed death of the magical energy that once flowed through the land. Players will follow Zevair on a small, yet integral part of his journey, where he is asked to find the young granddaughter of an old woman who had been attacked by the girl's kidnapper. In the "New World" where Zevair is feared and judged simply for his appearance by the youthful humanity, Zevair will discover that not all is at it seems, for there is a mystery to the girl, and a connection that neither of them dared believe real. As it stands, the character sprites are complete. There are only three integral characters in the story: Zevair, the girl, and Zevair's mother, who plays a small, yet important part of the story. This is Zevair - the protagonist of this short story. Despite his tall and imposing stature, Zevair is quite a stand-up fellow, and does what he can to help the people he comes across, even if they're never grateful and try to drive him away. Ten years of solitude have eaten away at his spirits, but he continues to drive forward regardless. This is Zevair's mother - Jezela. She has a superiority complex towards humanity, and considers them to be naught but insects. Very hoity toity and proud, Jezela was once much warmer as a mother than she ended up in the end. This is the girl who Zevair must rescue. About ten years of age. The above artwork is done by akkalime. You can see some more of her work HERE In regards to required assets, I am still in need of an individual willing to work on three to five musical numbers that have an overall genre of mystical fantasy. One song in particular is extra important, and is a lullaby. I already have the melody and lyrics I wish to use, I simply need someone who can bring it to life. Details of the needed assets can be provided upon inquiry. I am also in need of someone who can make a project logo. It doesn't have to be super amazing, but still be decent for the sake of clarity and fitting the overall feel of the project. I hope that this project can be completed and brought to those who enjoy visual novels, and I intend to work on a larger project in the future that will continue this world's story.   6. Arcana is a rather old game from 2000 by Ciel, and seems relatively obscure, although it has some very beautiful (if brutally censored) artwork from Tony Taka. I plan to do a complete conversion of the entire game from its own internal engine to Ren'py, and am making reasonable progress as far as that goes. I'm also trying to translate the game to English obviously, and while I do know some Japanese I don't know anywhere near enough to do this sort of thing properly. The project is thus in need of translators, translation checkers, and editors. I should be cut out for most of the programming work required, but I hear the game supposedly has some card battles too, and we'll see if that needs to be reverse engineered from the code too. All these characters have been hand drawn with colored pencil, so they may look a little rough. They they WILL change eventually as the project goes on.   12. Boku no Hitori Sensou / My own private war - latest VN from Looseboy - scenario writer for Devil on a G-String and Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo. Then, I changed the output from that vertical to normal horizontal (you can see in the image below), also translated top menu and MOST of it ALL, lo and behold - PROLOGUE (1st part of it) in GLORIOUS GOOGLE TRANSLATE!!! Obv I can do more, fix imperfections like word wrapping, change border, other stuff, but... no reason for that right now How to use - just download patch and put in the installation directory, where you have wa.exe, this will do the trick! Thank you for your consideration in advance! Backstory Last year, I attempted to make a short visual novel titled 'Carpe Diem' which I released on Steam for free. It was a small solo project I did for fun. It was more of a 'i-made-something' project that time and I really wasn't expecting much, but it surprisingly did pretty well. Until now, it sits at 91% positive feedbacks out of about 4k reviews, which for me is a pretty big deal. Over the past few months, I've gotten a lot of requests to make more of it. Inspired by these, I decided to give VN development another shot, thus the project I am currently working on which is the sequel. The following contents can be found on the Kickstarter page as well, but I'll try to expand a bit. Team Most of the negative reviews of Carpe Diem were about its assets (art, music, etc), which I admit are subpar since I'm not very good at making those. I want to overcome these shortcomings for the sequel, so I made a team and looked for people who can help me make a better product than the previous one. So far, I've found great people for my team: Editor: DJ Horn [he posts reviews on a certain blog site, and so far he's been a great help refining and polishing my narrations and dialogues] Programmer: Bonesy [he is a game developer himself but he's very proficient in Ren'Py] Sprite Artist: Sabie [DeviantArt] CG Artist: Thai Chau [DeviantArt] Backgroun Artist: Alexis [DeviantArt] Music Composer: Jonathan [he did soundtracks for indie games before but this is his first time composing for a VN] These are the positions essential for the current project. I plan the story to be about 50k words long (around 3-5 hours gameplay) but seeing how I already have 8k words written down just for the introduction part, this number may increase. Each day the two spend together is just one step closer to their inevitable fate. Ai doesn't have much time left. After receiving an unexpected letter from Ai about having to leave sooner than expected, Jung's life is turned upside down.   14. VN Overview You may have heard the occasional theory of a potential catgirl 'dystopia' in a certain popular catgirl VN. (given that in a sense catgirls in that world could basically be seen as slaves). This visual novel will take that theory to a logical extreme in that sense. Catgirls will be used and abused negatively by humans and it will eventually turn into a rebellion/war started by those who want to fight for Catgirl rights. There will be a decent amount of realistic military action, the setting will take place in Japan (of course). At the moment, we're planning to have 3 routes. This VN at the moment is not going to have explicit H scenes. Current Project Team I'm currently the project manager of this whole VN We have the main writer who's written the major scenarios planned out, as well as a timeline (history wise) as well as a timeline that will be referred to for writing specific scenarios We have an editor who mostly reviews our scenario documents, records meetings when we have them and will likely be an editor of the VN when it's released We have a programmer who will be programming the VN through Renpy We have someone who will contribute to making music There are a few people who came up with the original idea of the VN and have helped make some character concepts. Current Progress At this point we have the major scenarios planned for this VN written out. We also have all the major characters' personalities and backstories written up in addition to a few secondary characters. We have Renpy set up and know some general ideas of how we're going to use it. Our next task, in addition to looking for art, is to start actually writing dialogue. Looking for Artist Right now, we're looking for an Artist. For the most part, we just want art that we think would be fitting for the setting and plot. That said, we're very open to artist interpretation and freedom. Our highest priority at the moment is looking for someone who can at least make art for our characters given their personalities and physical descriptions. Backgrounds would be nice too but since one of our teammates is currently living in Japan, he can easily take photos and blur them a bit.   16. Heya guys. I've been working with a team for a while now on the title, Cafe Yume. We've got a demo script ready, and about a hundred or so pages of design documents, so the story is forming in a beautiful way. What we need, is creative individuals who want to bring this experience forward with suitable works of art. It is a fantasy game with elves and i have a cg artist for all the cutesy fluff stuff lol but there are a few scenes that lean toward the creepy side, also for bad endings there might be some blood. So anyone that is good at doing creepy slightly gorey art I'd really appreciate if you contacted me. It's not going to be super gorey with intestines hang out and stuff, just some blood.   19. I am recruiting writers for my visual novel project. So far it is only me and my artist and we can't handle all the writing ourselves. This will be my companies first game so if you want to get into this industry I would love to help you. Sadly you won't be paid for your contribution unless plans change down the road. We have just started so there is no concept art yet, but once we get some I will post it. I want to have determined people on the team with good communication skills and are able to talk at least once every couple of weeks or so with the rest of the team through Google Hangout or something similar. I am the the one writing the code and the lead developer so you will be working real close with me.   20. Hello all! I am currently in the process of making my first visual novel! Introduction "You and six teenagers are involved in horrible accidents. You are found unconscious, but you seem to wake up in a new realm. The ones there call it the Drift. From there, you have to find a way to escape the Drift alive. There are creatures that dwell there called phantoms. With each person having a "talent," this shouldn't be too hard of a task, right? Wrong. The Drift is a dangerous realm with illusions to trick the mind. With danger lurking in every shadow, who can you trust? Are they your friends or foes?" The main character is unisex, so either gender can play and choose their own route, love choice, and more! Characters Liam Valter: Liam is known as, "The scrawn." He is easily defined by his skittish and fearful personality. Liam usually keeps to himself, making him very observant. He is also the strategist, the brains, and the planner in the group. His talent of timed invisibility helps him observe and plan even better. At the age of 17, one would think that he would be a little more.. well-put-together in his scared side. However, Liam's fearful personality has helped the group make hard decisions during fights, incidents, and events in the drift. He is usually seen wearing a white v-neck shirt with blue jeans. He has a pair of glasses that always remains on his face, as he is rendered useless without them. Josh Farrier: Josh is the leader of the group. He had been in the Drift for the longest time of the seven teenagers. His given talent upon arrival was foresight and mind-reading which can prove useful in most situations. His personality is definitely a more rough-sided person. He often compares himself to a wolf - he protects his pack, fights those who dare to stand up to him, and fights when needed. An opposite of Liam hints that the two don't necessarily get along. Liam uses his head to figure out situations, while Josh uses his fists. Josh is known for his black shirt marked with a silver omega symbol. Katlyn Stone: Katlyn is seen around Josh. She was taken under his wing when she arrived in the Drift. He had saved her from a pack of "phantoms," the beasts that lurk in the Drift's plains. Katlyn now owes him her life, so she sticks by him in thick and thin to ensure that she is available for service when needed. She usually calms Josh down and persuades him to listen to the other people in the group. Often, the other group members question if the two are an item, but every time they deny. Daniel Bosner: Daniel is the flirt of the group. He decides to flirt with anyone and anything that is a female. This leads to him being overly confident in the sense that he finds himself, "able to get any girl." Despite this personality, he is one of the best members. His "given talent" is to see into the darkness, and use the shadows. He can sneak through the plains like a spy and guard the group's den. The shadows alert him of an enemy or threat, so his senses are extremely useful. Jarid Ryder: Jarid, or also known as "J," works with Liam as the strategist. In a close tie to Liam, he is known as the second-brain. Whenever Liam is on a supply run, Jarid is in charge of planning escape routes if a phantom rampages through the den. If one does reveal itself, he is able to use his talent to become one of them - he's a shapeshifter. As long as he's seen the creature, he is able to become one. This is extremely handy in battle situations as he can ward off predators by shifting into a creature of immense size and power. Marie Santar: Marie has a special feature about her. She has multiple-personality disorder - she has two different sides. One of which is a calm, loving girl.. While the other, is much less than that. Her "demonic" side is much more violent. She usually goes into a rampage. Her left eye turns red when this activates. This is a positive and a negative - in battle it works well. In other times, it can cause pain and tension in the den.   21. Hello. I am looking to join one or two translation projects as a translation checker for grammar and spelling. I work from home so I have plenty of free time available. The way I planned on working was each time you finish a route or even if you just send me the patch for every 10% you complete translating and editing, I will have it completely checked before you send me the next update. I will do two passes and I will record any mistakes in spelling or grammar in detail, along with their position in the game, so you need only open the script and make the change. If you keep sending me updates every so often, by the time you get to the end of the project, most of the game would already be checked and edited so you won't have to go back to the beginning and go through the entire game yourself. I am new to the visual novel community and would treat any project I join as my own work and I would guarantee my best work. We are a very small team working on this right now, consisting of three people of which two are helping on story only. Most of the coding, writing and art has been left to me. While I can handle it, any aid would be greatly appreciated. Hey, even if you're not interested in helping, your opinion on our main plot would be extremely helpful! Background story behind the project Now this is quite important because it might be a major dealbreaker for most in the western Fate fandom. The original idea for this game/story came from really wanting to see some Arturia/Gilgamesh interaction with Gilgamesh's personality being like it was during life and not messed up due to humanity being messed up during the time he was summoned. Gilgamesh being like he was in Fate/Extra CCC. We wanted to create a scenario that would fit into canon and would allow us to explore the dynamics between both characters, their personalities and their backstories. Of course, we don't want to romanticize it. We are fully aware of how problematic their relationship is due to Fate/Stay Night- we want to take all of this into account- but going further into the exploration of their relationship. Now that that has been taken out of the way, this is obviously not a fanwork solely made to have Gil and Arturia interact, we created a plot that would allow us to explore and create many other characters beyond that. We want to explore the stories of servants in the three first holy grail wars, their lives and legends. Plot During the events of the Fifth Holy Grail War, Ilyasviel von Einzbern, as the embodiment of the Holy Grail, sacrificed herself to close the pathway opened by a corrupted grail. The Greater Grail was destroyed, bringing the ritual of Fuyuki to a conclusion. However, the Grail had been in place for far too long, it held far too much concentrated magical energy; the sudden dismantlement of such a structure, which after 200 years, had almost become a natural part in the mana flow within the region, was bound to fail. The ritual ended, yet the mangled structure slowly begun to regenerate. After a couple decades had passed, the Magic Association began to become increasingly more desperate to reach Akasha. They turned their eyes to the previous ritual held in Fuyuki - and sought to recreate it. The Magic Association took their own path, straying from the knowledge of the three founding families. With the complete eradication of the Makiri/Matou line after Fifth War and the Tohsaka family head, Rin, refusing to help in any way with the recreation of the ritual, the Magic Association followed their own crooked path. The Association’s mixture of stubbornness and desperation led them to take a dangerous shortcut in their new establishment. Due to lack of planification and information, the site where the mangled grail stood was revisited and used as the centre for the newly established ritual. This reestablished Greater Grail was a source of great instability - forcing it to work like a properly built structure ignited the unstable magical energy engulfing it, resulted in the opening of a leak into Akasha. The leak led to the creation of a spiritual reality - a massive reality marble - a realm of spirits and magic with no physical manifestation, close to The Root. This realm, much like Akasha, is a place based on energy and magic, holding no connection to Gaia whatsoever. It is a place brimming with an aura of unfulfilled wishes, hatred and despair. Being influenced by the guidelines of the Grail War, the leak into Akasha serves as a way of summoning Heroic Spirits recorded within the Throne of Heroes. Due not being connected to the world in any direct way, true heroic spirits are summoned rather than emanations, as there is no need to worry for inconsistencies within the world in a spiritual realm. Similarly, the souls of magi are forcibly summoned into this realm to take part as "masters". -Except there is no Holy Grail to fight for. There is no point to the summoning. Any human with at least one working magic circuit is eligible for being summoned into this realm. Their soul will escape their body, leaving it in a coma like state. This results in many inexperienced and confused magi trapped in the place. A magus with enough magic circuits and great skill should be good enough to handle themselves and even be able to communicate with the outside world - but those with poor circuits are bound to get their minds twisted by the place, going so far into believing there actually is an omnipotent wishing granting device to fight for. While Heroic Spirits have no reason to fight each other, magi who find themselves in the realm need to fight for the existence of their soul. Upon the magic association noticing the great swirl of mana at the moment of the summoning of a master, they were able to investigate the potential of the leak in terms of reaching Akasha, and would continue to seek the exploitation of the system. If a soul - let it be heroic spirit or magus - is to perish within the realm, it will be collected by the faulty grail. The more souls the grail collects, the more power it gains to open a proper route into Akasha. Even if one does not wish to reach Akasha - they will still have to fight in order to survive against the vile attacks of the members of the Magic Association. Besides, if one wishes to escape the realm and return to Gaia, they will have to see the war through to the end. Characters ARTURIA PENDRAGON Voiced by: Adoxographist Better known as Arthur Pendragon or King Arthur, usually regarded as a male in history. She is Britain's "Once and Future King" reigning in Avalon until the day she'd be needed once more - or so was recorded in history. In reality, King Arthur was frozen on her deathbed, where she made a contract with the world.The contract stated that she would not die until she acquired the Holy Grail, which would serve as a way of amending her reign- erasing her existence in order to save her country. Despite having unlimited chances to acquire the Holy Grail, her failures in the Fourth and Fifth grail wars of Fuyuki have weighted heavily on her mind. She continues to struggle with herself, while seeking a self-destructive ideal. GILGAMESH Voiced by: Jon Bullock Mankind’s oldest hero, humanity’s first king. Despotic, arrogant and selfish. Gilgamesh was born with immense power, not being fully divine nor human, with his field of vision reaching extents which not even the gods were capable of fully comprehending. His power resulted in great isolation, but his strength of self kept him from abandoning his kingship or fleeing from the mission imposed upon him. He favoured isolation as he believed that by having chosen the path of a king he had to advance through it alone. Enkidu, Gilgamesh’s friend and companion was the sole exception to this rule. Gilgamesh is a guardian of humanity, yet he did not take upon this role by sheltering mankind. Instead, he sees himself as an observer, an adjudicator and sentencer of men. He alone bears all the burdens of humanity, of sin. He has accepted this as his role. JANE BASKERVILLE. Voiced by: Trina Deuhart Jane is a magus trapped within the reality marble, Apophenia. She was born within a minor magi bloodline from Wales specialized in the creation of puppet familiars and automata. Despite great potential and strong magic circuits, Jane seldom practices magic, as she has no control over her own mana, resulting in harmful bursts of power dangerous for both herself and those around her. Upon encountering each other, she forms a contract with Saber class servant Arturia Pendragon. Jane has a great interest on the new world that has appeared before her, and seeks to explore it to her heart’s content rather than focusing on escaping or fighting other servants and masters. ALLEN SAPIENTI CORTEZ. Due to being the son of an important archeologist, Allen has travelled across the world all of his life. He is well versed in different cultures and is very passionate about learning about myths, legends and stories from everywhere he has visited. He has some magic circuits within his body, passed on from his mother. However, as he never did live with her, he was never trained to be a magus. He is summoned to Apophenia and paired up with Gilgamesh. Allen is enthralled with the Gate of Babylon and all the different weapons within it.
