  1. Hey, all! The Anomaly is a commercial English Visual Novel project that my colleagues and I at Annexe Interactive have been developing for a while now. The game centers around a high school student and his friends after a mysterious anomalous phenomenon occurs suddenly in the sky above Colorado Springs. It will contain minigame and player-choice elements and will include elements of mystery, conspiracy, and various historical and scientific concepts including American Government and Quantum Theory. The game is estimated to be released sometime in late 2016. We recently launched a kickstarter campaign that we hope will provide us with the funds necessary to complete the game. There’s nothing to do, the people are boring, and the only thing keeping Tucker from losing his mind is his small group of friends who share a similar sentiment and similar interests. While the young man and his companions don’t hold much compassion for the physical world around them, their skills in the digital one tell a different story. Tucker is a hacker, and along with his friends Ross and Valerie, he finds every opportunity he can to leave the doldrums of the real world behind and lose himself in cyberspace. Whether it’s something as silly as vandalizing the Cheyenne Mountain High School website, or as serious as tapping into secret government archives, no task is too great or small for Tucker his merry little band of tech-savvy misfits. When Tucker meets a new girl at school named Kiera, things quickly become more complicated, and he and his friends’ carefree lives soon take an even more dramatic turn when the mysterious local phenomenon of “The Hum” begins to cause strange and confusing effects to the people of Colorado Springs. Taking it upon themselves to get to the bottom of things, the group soon find themselves knee deep in a complex and treacherous world of secrets, conspiracy, and very real danger.   2. VN Overview You may have heard the occasional theory of a potential catgirl 'dystopia' in a certain popular catgirl VN. (given that in a sense catgirls in that world could basically be seen as slaves). This visual novel will take that theory to a logical extreme in that sense. Catgirls will be used and abused negatively by humans and it will eventually turn into a rebellion/war started by those who want to fight for Catgirl rights. There will be a decent amount of realistic military action, the setting will take place in Japan (of course). At the moment, we're planning to have 3 routes. This VN at the moment is not going to have explicit H scenes. Current Project Team I'm currently the project manager of this whole VN We have the main writer who's written the major scenarios planned out, as well as a timeline (history wise) as well as a timeline that will be referred to for writing specific scenarios We have an editor who mostly reviews our scenario documents, records meetings when we have them and will likely be an editor of the VN when it's released We have a programmer who will be programming the VN through Renpy We have someone who will contribute to making music There are a few people who came up with the original idea of the VN and have helped make some character concepts. Current Progress At this point we have the major scenarios planned for this VN written out. We also have all the major characters' personalities and backstories written up in addition to a few secondary characters. We have Renpy set up and know some general ideas of how we're going to use it. Our next task, in addition to looking for art, is to start actually writing dialogue. Looking for Artist Right now, we're looking for an Artist. For the most part, we just want art that we think would be fitting for the setting and plot. That said, we're very open to artist interpretation and freedom. Our highest priority at the moment is looking for someone who can at least make art for our characters given their personalities and physical descriptions. Backgrounds would be nice too but since one of our teammates is currently living in Japan, he can easily take photos and blur them a bit. We have a Discord server where we keep all our documentation (we'd rather not show it publicly at the moment) so if/when an artist joins our group, we'd like for him/her to join the Discord server to read the documentation as well as post progress for us. About the story we want to tell: Due to a recent tragedy in Ordell's life he fell to the "emotional bottom" and he needs help, your help! It's up to you to help him on his journey through life and maybe even find the love of his love. Or maybe not. Main characters: Evan Park Evan is the librarian.He is one of Ordell’s only friends in town. He’s mostly really nice, and everyone likes him, but even Evan has his secrets… Jasmin Rosales Jasmin is a bartender at the Lucky Lounge. Some people would say she’s pretty shy, but mostly she’s just really exhausted. She works a lot. So you better be interesting if you want her to spend any of her precious time talking to you. Summer Holiday Summer is an event planner. Fun and bubbly, her fun demeanor usually makes people forget that Summer is one of the most ambitious driven people out there, despite her complicated past. Liberty Lee Liberty is a PhD candidate in physics. She’s kind of shy and very career driven, but super smart and hilarious, just when she’s not studying. Alayna Lott Alayna is a park warden. She’s a current biology student and she spends her free-time lobbying for endangered species, trying to get people to clean after themselves instead of littering, hanging out with Evan and defying expectations. Side characters: Sylvian Sylvian is Ordell's best friend. Ordell's a bit jealous of him, because he seems to have his life completely together. But Syl really worries about him... Rhiannon Rhiannon used to be an important person in Ordell's life, before everything went to hell. She doesn't like him at all, but it's not like she speaks to him, so he can't ask her why Key game features: • Over 85k words of interactive fiction. Project Introduction Team Name: AdultSciFi Game Name: Last Days of the Universe Visual Novel Information A super-massive black-hole is continously expanding in the center of a universe on the verge of collapse. Entire civilizations have been destroyed, others have escaped... for a while. No one is safe. You are the leader (female or male depending on the Patreon support) of a world facing obliteration. Will you find a way to escape the impending doom? Last Days of the Universe is the title of the first project by AdultSciFi. It's an adult science-fiction visual novel. The game is programmed in Unity and will be available for PC and other platforms (to be determined). Development versions will be released from time to time.   5. Book of Zhu: Legacy is a visual novel starring Aya, princess, martial artist, and future empress of the Zhu empire, who will find herself faced with the reality of what the future holds for her. The world depicted in-game is inspired by Wuxia films, as well as anime such as Fist of the North Star, Kenichi, and Katanagatari, and is being painstakingly brought to life by my team and I for this Visual Novel and beyond. Over the course of the game you will experience firsthand the upper class of society within the country of Zhu, glimpses of the larger world, and of course many martial arts battles. The game will follow a central storyline focusing on Aya and how her life starts to change over the course of about a year, with differing choices available that change the details presented during the story and what aspects of the world come into focus. In addition to the central storyline there are several side paths focusing on specific characters that are mostly determined by who you spend the most time with and whose story you progress the most during the early parts of the game, though some alternate versions of paths are triggered by hidden flags and events. Some of these will be romantic in focus, but others will allow you to see different sides of various characters, experience different aspects of the world, as well as different fight sequences. The game will also be free. Aya: The protagonist, heiress to both the Imperial Throne and her family's martial arts style. She is a girl eager to prove herself as both a future leader and a fighter to her mother, the Empress. Rin: Aya's cousin and a fellow princess. She is renowned for both her beauty and talent in the magical arts. She doesn't take her position seriously and prefers to indulge in pleasure instead of studying or training. Rani: Aya's loyal bodyguard and best friend. Despite living in the palace she has a reputation as a thug and spends a lot of her free time dealing with low-lifes and delinquents. Dokura : Rani’s mother, loyal retainer for the Imperial family, and one of the Empire's most respected warriors. She is seen by Aya as an aunt of sorts, someone always looking out for her that she can turn to. The Empress: Aya's mother and the absolute ruler of their people. She is loved as a living representation of Zhu tradition and feared for the swift and harsh retribution that tradition demands. For better or worse every action she makes is part of a legacy she will leave behind for Aya someday. There are many more characters than just those, so expect more soon. Lekkuen (me): Head Designer/Head Writer - The creator of the setting and main creative voice behind the project. Mahenbu: Lead Artist - An artist who has worked on several games and other projects. Thank you for your consideration in advance! Backstory Last year, I attempted to make a short visual novel titled 'Carpe Diem' which I released on Steam for free. It was a small solo project I did for fun. It was more of a 'i-made-something' project that time and I really wasn't expecting much, but it surprisingly did pretty well. Until now, it sits at 91% positive feedbacks out of about 4k reviews, which for me is a pretty big deal. Over the past few months, I've gotten a lot of requests to make more of it. Inspired by these, I decided to give VN development another shot, thus the project I am currently working on which is the sequel. The following contents can be found on the Kickstarter page as well, but I'll try to expand a bit. Team Most of the negative reviews of Carpe Diem were about its assets (art, music, etc), which I admit are subpar since I'm not very good at making those. I want to overcome these shortcomings for the sequel, so I made a team and looked for people who can help me make a better product than the previous one. So far, I've found great people for my team: Editor: DJ Horn [he posts reviews on a certain blog site, and so far he's been a great help refining and polishing my narrations and dialogues] Programmer: Bonesy [he is a game developer himself but he's very proficient in Ren'Py] Sprite Artist: Sabie [DeviantArt] CG Artist: Thai Chau [DeviantArt] Backgroun Artist: Alexis [DeviantArt] Music Composer: Jonathan [he did soundtracks for indie games before but this is his first time composing for a VN] These are the positions essential for the current project. I plan the story to be about 50k words long (around 3-5 hours gameplay) but seeing how I already have 8k words written down just for the introduction part, this number may increase. I'm also thinking of putting some mini-games relevant to the game but this will be discussed later on with the programmer once and if the kickstarter campaign turns out to be successful. The genre is Romance Drama, although there will be a lot of Comedy and Slice-of-Life elements throughout the story. Synopsis [Carpe Diem] What makes someone perfect? Experience this short bittersweet story in the shoes of the main character, Jung, where you will spend your time hanging out with a girl named Ai. Ai is everything Jung wishes for in a woman... except for one very important thing. A thing he prefers to disregard in order for them to have the best time of their lives. Throughout the game, the player must battle deadlines, stress, motivation and other resources like budgets to make their own anime. (Inspired by Shirobako ofc) The Story Yukari recently graduated from high school just like any other teenagers did. However, she has other more important things to do; making ANIME! With her investment funds, she plans to turn her dream into reality. Together with her friends, will Yukari make an unforgettable impression on the anime industry or collapse due to the pressure of directing her own anime series? Characters Yukari Role: Director Yukari loves anime and dreams of directing her own anime series one day. Filled with a strong sense of passion, she wants to produce anime that will be deeply rooted in the hearts of anime fans. Mayumi Role: Sound Director Mayumi is always lost in her own world of music even back when she was in school. Her interest in music stems from Vocaloid and she enjoys remixing and producing new sound tracks and uploading them on the Net. Mayumi is a close friend of Yukari and has known each other for a long time. Yuuko Role: Character Artist Yuuko is fascinated with drawing anime content and often spends her time online in Pixiv doodling sketches.   11. Hey Fuwanovel forum folk! I'm Kevin, founder of a tiny independent game studio called Nuclear Fishin' Software, based in NYC. Over the past half year, we've been developing a new visual novel / SLG in Ren'Py. It's called Four Horsemen, and it's not like any other SLG you have played before. To fund development the rest of the way, we're launching a Kickstarter campaign very soon! PROJECT INTRODUCTION Four Horsemen is an upcoming visual novel / SLG about immigrant lived experiences, with a touch of magical realism. You play as a group of four immigrants in their mid-teens, the Riders, who discover a long-forgotten, empty World War II-era machinegun bunker on the edge of town. They turn it into a secret clubhouse where they can hang out and do teenagery things like drink booze and play video games without adult supervision, and in doing so, they inadvertently create a new community. What this community does, and what it is for, is up to you. You'll spend much of the game gathering resources and building things to put in the clubhouse, and your choices of what you have the kids do and make will set the kids' priorities and consequently drive the storyline. What's not up to you is the world outside the clubhouse, which will slowly encroach on your burgeoning community. It will force the kids to come to terms with the politics that brought them to their new homeland, and the legacy they have inherited from their parents' country, a land they barely know. Political realities will also impede your ability to interact with NPCs and gather resources. Unlike other SLGs, you can't just stat-grind, buy, and bribe your way to a Good End--institutional racism will harry your production, forcing you to think outside the box and negotiate, borrow, improvise, and steal what you need. (Non-spoiler: What you build doesn't matter nearly as much as how you build it.) The big twist is that virtually everything in the game--the nature of the tragedy that brought these children to foreign shores, what the kids' values are, what language they swear in, what arcs are and aren't available, what the price of a wooden table leg is--all these things are determined by which fictional country the kids are from, and which fictional country they live in. You get to pick which country the kids are from on your first playthrough. On every playthrough after that, the game picks for you. The result will be an SLG with unprecedented replayability. On your second play, you might notice that choices that helped you win the first time around are missing, or that NPCs respond differently to different dialogue options. Resources that were easy to get before might now be hard, characters who were crucial the first time around have been replaced with new, different characters (forcing you to play an entirely different arc), and so on. Like real immigrant teenagers, you will have to figure out each new culture on your own, and constantly make decisions about whether you want to conform to it or stick by your own principles and work against it. This forces you to use real social skills to guide your decisions, rather than just telling NPCs what they want to hear or what sounds like it would produce the best reward. FEATURES Gorgeous art by the immensely talented comics artists Iasmin Omar Ata and Olga Andreyeva Stunning soundtrack by professional game audio designer Alyssa Menes and a variety of very talented independent bands, inspired by punk rock and its conceptual descendants (including postrock, riot grrl, and antifolk). Possibly the most complex treatment of immigration and racism ever to be explored in a video game--half a year of research, interviews, and difficult real-life conversations with immigrants from dozens of different real-life cultures ensure this won't just be a simple morality tale about how people from ethnic majorities should be nice to people from ethnic minorities. Repatriation! Assimilationist paternalism! Shifting historical identities! Historical complicity! Identity in exile! Inspired by both real-life twentieth century history and recent events, this game takes an international worldview, and does not shy away from difficult or uncomfortable questions. (Not in demo) Unique structure: Play through the whole game in a weekend, every weekend, for months; different every time. Meta-motivation tracking: choices are balanced to gently troll players who follow SLG genre conventions instead of their hearts. Lots of animations and other little surprises to keep things interesting. Deliberately broken economy loop -- use your heart and your wits to obtain what you can't get from the item shop! (Not in demo) No wish fulfillment--you can start a romantic relationship between any two PCs, but beware, teenage romantic relationships are just as transient and awkward as they are in real life. Tense, exciting microaggression system (instead of combat), with fancy Phoenix Wright-like animations. Empathy is your only weapon! (That, and your fists.) CHARACTER ARCHETYPES Though you'll play as a different set of four characters each playthrough, they always conform to the same four archetypes, each one inspired by a different Horseman of the Apocalypse from Christian-Islamic eschatological tradition. This reflects the uncanny feeling, common among travelers and schoolteachers, of meeting the same people over and over, with small but significant variations--amplified by the cultural forces of globalization, which draw teenagers of particular temperaments to the same clothes, music, and hobbies all over the world. The protagonists of Four Horsemen are not literal personifications of their religious namesakes, but as war, death, famine, and pestilence are intimately tied to the human experience of immigration, the central conflict of each character is defined by one of these concepts in a way that is meant to resonate with the experiences of people who have experienced them in reality. WAR The leader of the Riders and the only first-generation immigrant of the group, War's haunted eyes and tough demeanor belie the playfulness of a girl who struggles to balance between growing up too soon and catching up too late on her lost childhood. Her future taken from her at an early age, War lives in the moment, burying a deep, implacable sadness in sports and drinking and video games. Her considerable leadership skills, overdeveloped sense of responsibility, and deep fascination with ancient history are overlooked by her teachers at school, who write her off as a ditzy tomboy partybro. Though quick to anger, and extremely protective of her younger sister Death, she is surprisingly slow to violence, due to her early experiences with bloodshed. When she does pick fights, though, watch out! Mercy is not a concept she understands. Because she's the only Rider who remembers the old country, the other Riders see her as a sort of wise-woman figure, a role for which she is woefully unprepared. She spends a lot of time worrying about who she really is. War's storylines deal with themes of personal identity, security, armed conflict, heritage, and nation-building. DEATH A free spirit and incorrigible smartass who talks the same way IRL as she does on the Internet, Death couldn't care less about politics or identity. Death lives for one thing and one thing only: to make something even cooler than the last thing she made. She has a gift for electrical engineering, but talent doesn't necessarily equal competence--at her early age, she's still kind of figuring out how everything works, and sometimes everything, well, doesn't. Everyone but her thinks her talent is going to make her rich and famous someday, a perception against which she constantly struggles. A few early, horrifying years in a refugee camp made her keenly aware that she's never going to have the same opportunities as other kids her age, and she often has to balance her pathological fear of missing out with her obsession with catching up. These experiences, and the toxicity of online communities, bestow on her both an acerbic wit and an unbearable loneliness. Death's storylines deal with themes of lived experience, erasure, self-determination, industry, and the meaning of labor. FAMINE A wide-eyed, impressionable, easily impressed little dude, Famine has it pretty good compared to War and Death--he's a naturalized citizen who grew up in his new country, speaks with the local accent, and could almost pass for a native if given the chance. But this "almost" is what torments him: he's the only child of a single dad, he's an unremarkable student, he's just a little too awkward to be well liked at school, and there's always just barely not enough money to get by without cutting corners. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Famine doesn't believe the deck is stacked against him. A better world is always within reach! He believes that with a little gumption and a lot of hard work, anything is possible! ("Anything" includes winning the affections of Death, who he has a massive crush on, and who, of course, will not give him the time of day.) Famine wears a French maid costume when he dusts the clubhouse because it is a practical outfit for dusting. Shut up. You would too, if he wasn't the only one who ever bothered to dust this fucking sty. You slacker. He is best bros with Pestilence and looks up to him immensely, which is a little mysterious since Pestilence has no ambition. They like weed. Famine's storylines deal with themes of opportunity, entrepreneurship, gender roles, equality, respectability, and institutional privilege. PESTILENCE Pestilence is an enigma wrapped in a shroud of pot smoke. The son of two unremarkable, well-off parents from the old country, Pestilence has spent his entire life in his new homeland, and is widely reviled. His family was part of the community that welcomed War and Death out of a refugee camp in their early childhood, and the sisters consider him a family friend. Everyone else, except for Famine, seems to distrust him--his teachers insist he's trouble, though he rarely makes any; the police hassle him at every opportunity; taxi drivers and social workers are struck by a sudden and terrible deja vu. Pestilence is accustomed to this reaction and takes it in stride. He is very friendly and sees himself as a sort of Mister Rogers figure, preaching simple, occasionally grim aphorisms from doctor's office brochures. Naturally, Famine thinks he's the chillest person ever, and they are best bros. Though he generally comes off as a carefree gentle giant, Pestilence has strong convictions and will passively resist anyone who stands against them. It is rumored that when the immigration bureau sent his parents the eighth late notice for his resident alien registration, Pestilence mailed them a drawing of a smiling cockroach flying a UFO. Pestilence's storylines deal with themes of religion, conquest, demography, social justice, and the spread of ideas. WHO WE ARE Nuclear Fishin' Software is based in Brooklyn, New York, and our core creative team consists of: Kevin Chen (writing, programming, direction, design) -- that's me! We plan to do at least two more for the final release, perhaps more depending on funding Three minor routes, one of them fully complete, the rest nearly complete. There are also stubs for several others Microaggression system, in two different play modes, including an endboss An absurdly sophisticated profanity system - characters codeswitch naturally and swear in their native languages Dynamic BGM system - in addition to some incredible tracks across several different genres from our talented musician friends, each of the main characters has its own instrumental motif.   12. Don't do drugs kids. A Lamb in Wolf's Clothing [ GxB, Action, Mystery, Psychological Thriller ] This is a work of fiction, and even the super drug here messes people up bad. Okay, prescribed drugs from doctors that are necessary are fine. S T O R Y Utopia has long since ended. Confined in walls that have yet to be broken through, people join factions trying to survive another day in a decaying city with limited resources. There is hardly a day of silence, a day where a cry rings out through the streets in the middle of the night. There is a constant fight for power, for influence, for authority. The one in control changes every other month, the rules changing even more so frequently. This is the story of one particular moment in the carnage. Of when a drug known as Treats started to circulate through the system. Of when questions were no longer whispered and instead roared at the front lines. Where one girl who was born and raised in this society learned to aim for the throat when you wanted - needed - something. Follow Meri as she casts away the little that remained of her, stumbling across the truth as she pursues for revenge. The Jungle A large and sprawling metropolitan city that remains held up with a thin thread, seemingly ready to crumble at any given moment. This fragile place is where the populace reside for the eternity of their lives. The city has a turbulent structure of varying societies, groups and gangs that wish to hold more power than the other. This division causes districts to be made, though they are constantly swapping ownership as the feud continues among those of relatively equal standing with no clear winner. A large wall, without a single entrance or exit in sight, cages the city. Very few remember the official name of old for what this crumbling city used to be. Among the folk tales and mysteries of what this now rubble filled city used to be, the name, history, and events that unfolded to cause this current state only remain speculated. The Wall No one has been able to come or go ever since they could remember, the wall that towers high and encompassing the entirety of the city preventing such things. Attempts to traverse the wall has been made, though incredibly unsuccessful with rather strange and gruesome results. The peculiar circumstances and the blood stains hidden among the graffiti on the wall remains a foreboding reminder that there is something very wrong, and a kind of warning against those that hold suicidal pursuits. Treats The exact source of this increasingly popular drug remains unknown. Some have speculated it originated in the humble abode of a stumbling druggie who decided to mix and match for the next best high, others believe that it was the results of a laboratory of some scientific mad man, while there are a few hushed whispers that the remains of the government are to blame - seeking the power they once had. It seems that conspiracy theories weren't one of the things lost after the breaking up of the society from before most could recall. Not all of the effects of this mystery drug is yet known as it is still quite new. Effects seem to vary among consumers, though heightened senses, thought processing and strength seems to be a common symptom. Questioning consumers result in varying reactions - some proclaiming it to have changed their lives, saying that every other drug is put to shame by it, while others vehemently believed it to be the tool of the devils. A drug shrouded in mystery, yet so fervently produced, trafficked and consumed. It's sudden popularity caused a major shift of power within the rather chaotic and ever changing hierarchy, causing the downfall of some while allowing others influence that they could only ever imagine. F A C T I O N S The Royals Debatably the oldest society with a long history dating back before the fall of the society of the old. However, these records remain a secret and guarded like a jealous mistress as anyone outside the higher ranked remain ignorant of the apparently prestigious background. Though their numbers had consistently remained minimal as members were restricted to those of the same blood, they managed to hold power with their horded knowledge and their rather smart distribution of said knowledge. However, their small district had since been consumed by the growing gang known as the Red Caps, the members scattered and mostly believed imprisoned or dead. The Code Blues This neutral party remains a pacifist group. Neither are they particularly wealthy, nor do they have access to military resources. However, they remain through the support of many other groups and anyone that dare cause trouble with them would instigate a war among the other groups. Holding some of the brightest doctors and greatest knowledge when it comes to keep someone with multiple gun shot wounds alive, they remain a vital part to keeping everyone from permanently killing each other by providing aid between each battle. The Trade A merchant group that has an extended range of dealings, though they are most known and requested for their arms trade. With particularly sharp wit and high levels of intrigue, they manage to remain an influential power through back handed dealings and selectively partnering with other groups to warn or outright wipe out any potential threats. The Shroud Not much is known about the shroud. There are plenty of whispers and rumours that surround them. About how they seem to appear from no where, seeping in among the left remnants of a since over conflict. How they collect the bodies, leaving not even a whisper of what used to be life behind. How they evolved into an urban legend as the grim reapers as nothing ever remained, not even those that were known to be simply heavily injured instead of dead. Yet, somehow, these resources never seem to appear again, even within the many branches of the black market. The Red Caps One of the younger, but more powerful group. Rising in the scene with a questionably large stock of Treats, they had managed to gain exponential support and influence. Not much is entirely known of their policies due to the lack of any defined leadership. However, their ruthless dash and climb in power has given them a worrying reputation of doing anything for their goals, whatever they may be. Their district as of recent years haven't had particularly defined borders. Ever since the Red Caps had monopolized the market of Treats, their pursuit for expanding the areas under their control has increased several worrying folds. Though there is not a moment of peace or quiet within the streets of this district, the main building which acts a sort of headquarters for the higher in hierarchy. But none of that cocaine, ice, cool kid stuff plz. C H A R A C T E R S Meri Lambert | Royals Faction She believed herself invincible. She trusted her faction's invincibility. She thought herself to be more than she was. She was simply a naive child who had yet faced the sirens of reality. She learned that the world's tough love really was the fastest way to learn. She threw away what she once was for something she may never have or become. Cimon | Factionless He was there for you after the downfall of your family. He was the one that taught you how to survive without the faction's protection. He was the one to teach you about the various other districts. He was the one you had underestimated. Cimon is a seemingly happy-go-lucky and free spirited individual. Easy to hand out smiles, you question how he is able to trust others to easily and yet remain relatively well off. He just kind of seems rather naive and idealistic. However, he proves to be resourceful and hold a high level of awareness of the circumstances around him. With a understanding of the various different factions and their movements, you can't help but wonder why no one had already nabbed the guy. He would have been such a useful member after all. It really did seem rather strange. Gil | Trade Faction He lectures about peace as he gives warmongers bombs. He moarns the fallen as he accepts money from a murderer. He confesses his regrets and apologizes as he fires the gun in his hand. He signs the contract ensuring the death of many. He gives aide and resources to the neutral, saving their lives. He hates those he love, he loves those he hate. He's a hypocrite and he knows it. You haven't quite managed to grasp his personality. Through the layers of facades, the faces of professionalism and compassion, the acts of horror and delight - you just can't quite say definitely what type of person he is. An image of an upright man who's only wrongs are due to circumstance and an unfair world, you know it is simply a mask and in a way you wish to never have to see what is hidden beneath that rather careful construct. Aric | Royals Faction What's the blood that flows through their veins to the shared red dyed stains? What's a friend in a world of lies? What's a promise against the memories? What's an apology shackled with regret? What's a boy with questions that he doesn't wish an answer for? What waits past the end? Aric was someone you would tentatively call a friend. With the trials of time you've grown distant. The connection never truly lost, but there's just something no longer there. A closeness that you remembered from back when you were kids, desperately faking a childhood that they could never have. Following the faction's fall, you find yourself wondering where he is and questioning the rather peculiar circumstances around him. After all, only those that shared the same blood were meant to be allowed in the Royals, yet you are absolutely certain he fails to meet that very simple criteria. Jackie | Red Caps Faction He's felt the sweet caresses of joy, pure bliss with the feeling as if he could take on anything in the world. He's felt the tightening choke of sorrows, whispering lies that became his one and only truth. He's endured the shakes of rage, the physical pain he felt as he had to restrain himself. He knew far to well the damages fueled by humans fickleness. You struggle to describe him. He's just so- invisible, for the lack of a better word. In a way, it's actually a little disturbing. You don't know where he's from, what motives drive him, what actions he plans to take next. You notice how he seems to be able to simply disappear within a crowd or even in a desolate area without a single soul. However, one thing is for certain, you know that won't last long. The unsettling feeling that blankets you, a foreboding calm before a storm, that tilt of a smirk when he's lost in thought. Ihsan | Code Blue Faction He holds the needle like a knife, an apathy for each injection like a serial murderer who's grown bored. He binds the bandages like a noose slowly coiling around his own neck, suffocating him as the begs for a savior drown him. He's neutral, he doesn't take sides. He's long forgotten to care. A cloud of fatigue follows him, his actions sluggish and tired. The bags under his eyes don't go unnoticed, and his rather short and and general lack of enthusiasm reminds you of a corpse walking. However, you recall the stories of the heroes from the Code Blue faction. Their pursuit for pacifism, their incessant need to save lives. No one would join such a faction without having cared before. Right? Zeph | ??? Faction He hugs the gun like a child hugs their toys after a nightmare. He lies curled in the ash and rubble as if they were a safety blanket that would protect him from everything. He treats the serenades of gunfire like a lullaby, welcoming a dream that is soon to come. A dream he had long held, a dream that he had been pushed to his knees for. A large grin on a face splattered with blood. The gunshots that surround him, the blood that paves the streaks of death around him. You question the cheerful joking nature of his as whatever conversation you have with him seem to hold no direction, and yet you know he is far from lost as he avoids any talk about factions, Treats, the wall, and the coming future that lays ahead. "Hey, do you know why the sky changes colour? I've always thought it strange. You know, how such a big and encompassing thing could be so fickle. Yet, all our blood remains red no matter how far from human we get. Hey-- I wonder what colour the sky is outside the jungle." No matter the circumstances, illicit drugs would probs make it much shittier. We've got a demo script ready, and about a hundred or so pages of design documents, so the story is forming in a beautiful way. What we need, is creative individuals who want to bring this experience forward with suitable works of art.   20. My team, Alienworks, is going to be releasing a short yuri VN in a couple months. I'm a little bit late on the whole thread creation thing, since we announced the project back in September, but what can ya do? So first off about us, then I'll get to the good parts. As you might know, Alienworks has another project going on, The Human Reignition Project, which you can see in my signature. That's our main game. HB was a side project started by myself and one of the other writers, and is way smaller in scope. That other writer is Syon, Setsuna's writer for HRP. Then we have Jake Abernathie and Anna Logue composing the soundtrack, with our programmer Kevin Turner putting everything together. Art is handled by Rosuuri, Shiyun and Myuto, who also work on HRP. Badriel is doing the backgrounds, and we also have a number of CG's being completed by Weee/Raemz, best known for her work on Katawa Shoujo. While they're both a little bit lacking, we have a VNDB entry as well as our own website. Here's our little blurb about the project, taken from the Steam Greenlight page, which should be up in the next week or so. Developed by Alienworks, Highway Blossoms is a short lesbian (or "yuri") story set in the American Southwest. After an old gold rush miner's journal is discovered, supposedly detailing where he hid parts of his stash, a nationwide craze begins as would-be prospectors try to solve its clues and strike it rich. Amber couldn't care less. Wandering the desert in a recently-inherited motorhome, she mourns the loss of her grandfather - indifferent and unaware to the hunt happening around her. It's not until she meets Marina, a young hitchhiker lost in New Mexico that the girls get swept up in the rush. A tribute to music and Americana, Highway Blossoms is a linear visual novel experience. With an emphasis on romance and adventure, the game is sometimes somber and sometimes silly. We hope to write a game that both long-time VN fans and newcomers to the medium can enjoy, as well as a fun contribution to the yuri genre. Right now, we're hoping to have the game out in mid-April, though it's still a bit too early to announce a definite release date. We've got a first draft of the script done, as well as all the backgrounds, half the soundtrack, half the CG's and a few of the sprites. All the other things are moving along pretty quickly though. When it's done, it'll be on Steam with a free uncensor patch available, or alternatively you can get the DRM-free adult version on Denpasoft. It's not an eroge or anything like that, but there are a couple sex scenes. The emphasis is on romance and adventure though. Similar to what we did for the HRP demo, we're going to be putting together a guest art gallery for anyone who might want to participate. Coeus Corrupt (Ko-wus) Pantheon: Greek Age: 1482 Height: 14' or 19' standing Fighting Style: Soul Leeching Alignment: Chaotic Evil FANTASY In the bowels of a long lost Anunnaki burial chamber roams the Titan Coeus. He once was the most intelligent Titan to ever exist and was the most likely to succeed at developing humanity in the outside world. Fate was cruel to him though as his curiosity got the best of him. Nun warned all the ancient bloodlines of the three dominant spirits that were sent to Earth with him. Nun possessed one but the other two were lost in the crash landing of his ship. Coeus searched for years for relics of the long lost Sirius ship and did not heed the warning of Nun to notify him immediately if they ever were to be discovered. When he touched the relic, the spirit within it infused with his core, causing him to fall into madness. He tried to fight the urge for a time but eventually it took over and he killed an Anunnaki by draining it of its soul. Uranus, his father, intervened on his behalf when Marduk seeked vengeance. Marduk did not trust Uranus to honor his word though and negotiated the terms of his punishment. The Annunaki would build a cursed facility under the ground which would keep him imprisoned for eternity with special sigils that drained his power. He is forever roaming these halls waiting for the day he can be free to feed again. HISTORY Coeus is of the Greek pantheon, known as the Titan of rational intelligence. He fathered many children and was considered a positive Titan. In the Titanomachy (The war between Titans and Olympians,) he was overthrown and imprisoned for an eternity in Tartarus (Hell.) unlike the other Titans, he went mad in his imprisonment and broke free of his chains in an attempt to escape but failed in his attempt. THEORY We decided to change the timeline a bit and tie his historical madness into his inquisitive nature. We liked the tragedy of an intelligent and benevolent Titan falling from grace due to his lack of wisdom. By showing his fall, we make him more relatable and also incorporate cross pantheon relationships between the Anunnaki and the Titans. This allows us to create vivid lore that mixes the two worlds and enriches the story of a mad god who was once a benevolent saint. Full blown critiques plz. So much so that producing our very own Visual Novel has always been something we wanted to do for a long time now. The Team has always wanted to recreate the splendour; the excitement of uncovering new plots lines and artistic wonders for you, the Visual Novel community. We are looking to create a world that you can immerse yourself in, and we hope that you'll enjoy the process together with us.   24. What is Seiyuu Danshi? Seiyuu Danshi is a Japanese-style Visual Novel / Dating sim (whichever you prefer) with voice acting as its main theme. In this game, you’ll play as a newbie voice actor who strives for the Seiyuu Award. On his way to reach his goal, though, he will still live his daily life and YOU get to make the choices on how he should spend the days. Do you want him to take on extra lessons in order to reach the goal faster? Or, would you like to go on a romantic date with the guy you accidentally met at shopping mall? It’s ALL your choice. The game is highly interactive and there’s no usual restriction in plot that you get in ordinary VNs. If you don’t feel like working, feel free to slack. If you feel like being single for the rest of your life, yes it can be done (why would you do it in a DATING sim, though?).
