  2. KICKSTARTER || TWITTER Welcome to Love Shore, a city that transforms at night. The futuristic metropolis also just happens to also be populated with cyborgs, old gods hidden in the depths of a criminal underground, and humans eager to crawl their way to the top, no matter what the cost. After a fertility crisis changed the landscape of the city for good, a single company stepped in to help the residents: Life S. Incorporated, a biotech firm that claimed to be able to build life out of raw DNA, creating a fully formed human with thoughts, feelings, and morality of their own. Their minds, physical appearance, and personality would be drawn from their parents’ DNA, but the children would be ‘born’ using artificial bodies. This new generation would be called the S.Humans: a non-aging, tough form of new life. Love Shore is a visual novel game that takes concepts we've always loved in sci-fi, action, and horror and blends them together to create something wild. It features a queer, diverse cast, a seemingly endless city, and a story of coming into yourself and doing what you think is right…with a heavy dose of drama and violence mixed in for good measure. Love Shore features two playable protagonists with four romanceable options, each with their own storylines. The cast is entirely LGBT+. The game’s projected features will include 12 chapters, 24 possible endings, 60 CGs, 25 unique locations, and an original soundtrack. Follow one of two protagonists, Farah or Sam, as you investigate the city's criminal underbelly, and help your companions on their quests for redemption, love, and power. Love Shore has a cast of vastly different individuals, from S.Humans to Gods. Each person is unique in their motivations and in the way they interact with the world, and with you. Be careful to choose your friends and lovers wisely. Protagonists Love Shore is a vast and intricate city, and you’re going to need some local help to find out what’s going on. Each of your companions have different strengths, weaknesses, and connections that can either help or hinder you. Your companions can be your love interests, or you can just pursue true bromance: the choice is yours. All companions in Love Shore have an approval rating for Sam or Farah, based on their interactions with them, and these ratings can unlock new dialogue and different paths! If you want to check out all the companions, check out our Kickstarter! THE TEAM The beautiful sprites featured in Love Shore (as well as all the CGs) are done by Kabo. They are the lead character designer with a deep love for fashion and neon. (Hence, perfect for Love Shore). Zi is the amazing individual behind all the environments you see in game! She is an illustrator and concept artist who loves doing promotional work inspired by film. And that beautiful menu you see above? That’s by our UI Designer Sonja, who contributes a retro-sleek and professional look to the game. Besides being a huge memer, they have worked on a variety of design projects and games, both personal and professional. Son M. and Emmett are the co-writers of Love Shore, who additionally moonlight as producers for the game. Jason is a freelance programmer, and founder of indie gamedev studio Stray Basilisk. He's a dedicated sci-fi nerd, and card-carrying Philip K Dick and Stanislaw Lem fanboy. Jason joined the team to help bring Perfect Garbage's creative vision for Love Shore into reality. Jayson is the musical brains behind our soundtrack. He is an independent artist, musician who makes his own music and has worked on sound design for a handful of projects. Our theme song (the one that plays during the credits/menu) was composed and produced by 1X4X44R exclusively for Love Shore. If you like the sound, check out their other music! We are trying to reach $50,000 on Kickstarter! It's a steep goal, I know, but to pay for the art fairly, the music and programming, it's the smallest amount we could ask! The majority of the funding goes straight into the art (53%). Art - 53% UI Design - 4% Game Development / Programming - 22% Sound - 2% Writing - 19% [DEMO FOR MAC OR PC] Features the “First Chapter” of Love Shore and acts as a World/Character introduction to showcase the art, music and storytelling that will be present in the completed game. Two main characters with completely unique, yet intertwining stories to choose from Each character has four romanceable options Rated 17+ for mature language, sexual themes, and violence. THE DEMO DOES NOT INCLUDE MATURE CONTENT. The demo of Love Shore is a work in progress, showcasing our team’s abilities to produce a story of this caliber. There are no save/load options but should take only 30 minutes to play both character introductions. There are an estimated 12 chapters per route included in the final game. Thanks for taking the time to look over this! It's a project I'm very passionate about and I'm still learning my way, even during this kickstarter! Please Enjoy! KICKSTARTER
  3. KICKSTARTER https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1406521641/bios-ex-a-psychological-visual-novel-game DEMO https://gogen-soft.itch.io/bios-ex-visual-novel When Eiza Gaido wakes up on the cold floor of a jail cell, his mind is completely blank. He remembers only two things: His name and that he’s not a terrorist. However, the government seems to think the opposite; they accuse him of a bombing attack to the local university of his hometown. The journals, the media, the police officers…everyone blames it on him. It’s a death sentence. But only if Ori Asylum will declare he was mentally stable at the moment of the attack, it seems there have been objections that have saved him from the grim reaper. To determine his psychological conditions, he’s sent to the psychiatric hospital in Sapporo; there, he finds himself trapped in an unsettling, suffocating reality that makes him doubt the truth of what he’s been told until then. Between mixed memories and unexplainable events, he meets three girls who’ll change his life: Innocent Shizune and her mysterious sketchbook, the alluring vice-director Nao and Supra with her sad eyes If Eiza wants to break free from his cage, he has no other choice than investigate and discover the truth about who he is and what he has done MUSIC To give a better feel old style we decided to use the YM-2608 sound chip (used for many pc-98 games like Yu-No) and some tracks accompanied by MIDI 90s Gameplay and INFO It’s a medium-length novel where the player can interact with the main characters and take crucial decisions that will shape the course of the story. The choices will mostly revolve around the type of attitude the player can assume in response to the characters they’re interacting with, and to the different mysteries they’re bound to encounter and deal with. There are two different routes per possibile love interest, a good ending and 2 bad ending, for a total of six routes. Once it will be reached the goal of 8500$, there will be the opportunity of playing the game from Supra’s perspective. There could be scenes classified as “ecchi”, but nothing explicit. CHARACTERS When Eiza wakes up in jail, he remembers only two things: His name and the fact that he’s not a terrorist, not matter what the government says. He dreams of flames and people screaming, but his instinct tells him he’s missing a piece of the puzzle; there must be more, another explanation. He knows he’s not a terrorist, but the world seems to think the opposite. If only he could remember… Nao’s the seductive vice-director of Ori Asylum. She moves like a queen between the peasants, her tone and words are aimed to please, tantalize and manipulate. Her sparkly eyes know more of what she lets surface, her taunting smirk is a dangerous provocation. She has one priority and it’s herself, she would do anything to protect what’s hers and obtain what she desires. Nao likes to play with people and uses it to her own advantage. She makes use of her power and influence to control the Asylum, even if she despises it and its guests Supra is one of the nurses at Ori Asylum. The woman hides every emotion and thought behind a cold mask of indifference or exasperation; she has a detached attitude and sharp tongue that make it difficult for others to approach her. However, when she’s treating her patients, or when she lowers her guard, a caring fondness emerges and gives the hints of a gentle heart. Supra rarely loses her temper, managing to keep under control both herself and the situation at hand. She’s the main responsible of the patients affected by dementia and other patiens like Shizune Shizune is a shy girl, patient of the Ori Asylum, who seems to have often her head in the clouds; she’s easily frightened and intimidated, but this is not going to stop her curiosity and gentle heart. Her kind smile is a balsam for the soul and, even if she speaks cryptically, a fond sweetness always lies in her tone. Her innocence and naivety resemble the one of a child, but that’s not a reason to underestimate her bravery or passion. Shizune likes walking in the garden or resting under a tree, with her precious sketchbook in her hands; she seems very protective of her drawings and never leaves it around CONTACT https://www.facebook.com/Gogensoft/ https://www.patreon.com/GogenSoft https://twitter.com/GogenSoft
  4. On December 31, 999 AD, the Pope Sylvester II, an infamous blasphemer, who received his post by beating the Devil at dice, solemnly celebrated the last Mass. The bell rhythmically tolled the last moments of mankind before the Judgment Day. “Our Father in heaven, save and protect us sinners from the infernal flames and the hellhounds that bared their fangs to tear our souls.” It didn’t help. The end of the world came right on schedule and showed no mercy. Only a few fortunate managed to escape the cataclysm on a remote and unknown island. This community subsequently spawned the first Pastor, the hierarch under whose government the new state grew and flourished with time. Eventually, new Pastors came, and with them changed the flock. Changed until the handmade paradise was stricken with the deafening thunderclap — a murder was committed. Then another one and another one… At that time arsons, cattle rustling and robberies began. Gradually, the darkness superseded the sunlight… Lambs grew weary of being laid under a hatchet, so they cried and crawled to their Pastor, begging the Father to hurriedly deal with the flayers, restore order in the common house. Thus, the Devoters appeared, the hope and support of ordinary people, their defenders and protectors, making silver linings seen to the hearts tormented by injustices. There is no cold fierce enough, no heat hot enough, no storm or hurricane deadly enough to stop the Devoters from fighting the wicked with seething zeal and ready swords. They live for the sake of their people. And for the sake of their people, they would die. This is their story, unveiled and unadorned, exactly as the Pastorate chroniclers told it over many generations. Howdy, dear ladies and gents. So, that's how it starts. How it ends will depend on your choices made during the game. As of now we're about 80% ready and plan to release the first episode in april. YOU CAN ALREADY CHECK OUT THIS DEMO ON ITCH.IO It's worth giving a shot I promise. Our TWITTER is out there too. To cut is short: you serve in a special force service that resembles both FBI and Inquisition. You're given an elder partner who is really street-smart and has been doing these drug busts and crib raids for too long. Together you gotta figure out who offed the Prefect of the province and why they did it. That's you - Leonard Pinterro That's your partner - Vinnie Boyd That's what the gameplay actually looks like Also we do have a battle system. It's done in the form of a card game. To reveal more info about the setting, the universe we decided to include the Velvet book which is the encyclopedia of the world. It encompasses most important concepts and notions. I would describe this game as a mix of The Wire + Training day + Mad Max + The Wicker man and maybe some "best" parts of GULAG. Please stay tuned for updates and new info for Project Pastorate. Soon we will have other news. Thank you very much for your attention, ladies and gents. ONE FAITH. ONE FAMILY. ONE FORCE. ALL HAIL PASTOR!

  7. Hello! So this is my debut VN made with Ren'Py. It started development since 2015 but will only be seeing its First Chapter after a few days because of some difficulties. I also had to rewrite the entire plot. If you can tell, I'm a one-man crew. Only the writing and programming is 100% me. The rest of the assets are CC. What will be releasing in a few days is the first of ten chapters that will span until mid-2018. Call it 0.98 for now; it just needs some polishing. Release will be on itch.io. Death Roulette focuses on ten students from Maria St. Claire Institute, all of whom are graduating from high school. Everything seems normal at first... until a strange "link" is uncovered. Conspiracy theories circulate around an incident the previous academic year, when a mass murder occurs at Sacred Heart Village. One by one, a student is killed each month, and the mastermind is never unmasked. To top it off, one of MSCI's alumna is involved, but even she is proven innocent... or is she? Come one morning, and the students of MSCI find out that even they have been compromised: someone is re-enacting the Sacred Heart Murders through a long-running game of deadly roulette. This time, they have a chance of unmasking the culprit, but how many lives will the effort cost? The time has started, and the game is on. It draws a lot of inspiration from Higurashi and Corpse Party, but the plot's basis is on semi-true events. Expect to see some neat references there... or not. Parallelisms, maybe? You can follow updates through my Twitter account or Facebook Page (I post my updates and teasers there), though you'll be seeing some images from the VN at this very post (if I can figure it out, that is). I'll be updating this throughout the entirety of the development. It's gonna be a long trip ahead! UPDATE: The game is now available on itch.io! Follow this link to the VN: https://jamiedw-offc0728.itch.io/death-roulette-chap-01

The idea for the project came back in 2011. First works were made, such as the outline of the story and first concept art for characters. Unfortunately, the project went into a drawer for many years. The reason behind it was our focus on developing other games, such as 9 Clues and 9 Clues 2. Fortunately, the project survived and was 'resurrected' by at the end of 2017. We approached to the Perseverance with new energy and fresh look. Our aim was to give players a gripping story and show them the drama of individuals in the face of terrifying events. As we decided to make Perseverance an episodic production, we would like to give you some insight of what to expect from the story in Perseverance: Part 1. SYNOPSIS In Part 1 you play as Jack Cutter, a father who is struggling to keep his family together. He's a ‘go-to' guy in his hometown of Grey Ville. On the surface Grey Ville looks like a peaceful city, but research conducted in a nearby military base gives the town a mysterious aura. Residents prefer to stay away from it, however, they love to speculate on what's going on there. Things take an unexpected turn and the area is quarantined. Meanwhile, a mysterious woman is after a fugitive. Her superiors expect her to fulfill her orders as usual. But they are not telling her everything. The person she's after is more than what she appears to be. Soon both Jack and the mystery agent will find themselves in a middle of a crisis that will change them forever. We've been working hard at this game for almost 2 years now and we're still not done! So please keep in mind that everything you see here may change in the future. The Cold Case of Noella Bejerot, is an exciting point and click adventure game where you search for clues, question witnesses, and put together the facts to figure out who dun it! In addition to this, it is also a visual novel with a rich story driven by the ever optimistic protagonist Grace Sinclair! Available for PC, Linux, and Mac. Download here!!! Please Support Us Here: Kickstarter Trailer Synopsis Grace Sinclair is a less than stellar student. In fact, she’s flunked out of her high school at 20 years old! That’s not even the worst of her problems. When she gets home later that day, her dad kicks her out! Now starving and homeless, our hero bravely steals a snack from the convenience store on the other side of town. Just then, a masked man comes in! He holds up the store, waving a gun around and demands for all the money in the register or there’ll be consequences. The police show up and out of luck, Grace is able to help them find out the identity of the robber. The head detective, Delilah Araceli, is so impressed she offers Grace a job. Feeling that this may be her chance to make a true difference in the world, she accepts the job! The only problem is, Grace does NOT have good reasoning skills and on top of that has a condition where she faints at the sight of blood! As you progress through the story, it’s up to Grace to solve cases from homicide to domestic abuse to the legends of the mysterious and murderous serial killer known only as “The Banshee”. All while she’s hiding her secret from her quirky co-workers, who I remind you are DETECTIVES, or else she’ll end up back on the streets! She’ll have to solve her hardest case yet when she faces, The Cold Case of Noella Bejerot. Here's what other people thought of our game when they play tested it! Characters Grace Sinclair Very optimistic, caring, and naive. She’s terrible at English (held back twice because of reading problems and started school a year late). Absolutely, adores her dad and takes care of him when he has episodes of intense depression. Faints at the sight of blood. Lem Yasui Very perceptive and sarcastic. He finds others in awkward or uncomfortable situations funny, and takes great enjoyment in placing them there though he’d never do anything to cause others harm. Has a lot of confidence and this can sometimes lead him to do odd things that he is convinced is normal such as ride elevators with his back turned to the door. He is also not very good at expressing his feelings or hearing feelings from others and can be rightly classified as a tsundere. Delilah Araceli Smart, clever, beautiful, and kind. Though she is intelligent and fun to be around, she is unaware of these qualities and as a result is self doubting and socially awkward. She believes that using the younger generation’s lingo will make her seem younger and more attractive but often comes off as trying too hard. George Poppell Family-oriented, can’t talk enough about his kids. Even carries around their sonograms and birth certificates. He’s not very social, and usually declares dramatic statements incorrectly when excited. For example, when he proposed to his wife, he told her he was having heart failure. When she insisted on bringing him to the hospital, he frantically apologized and said he meant that she had stolen his heart and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Bernard Bejerot At his job, Bernard is very enthusiastic and no rule is too small to break. Off the clock, he is very endearing and kind. He cries at every movie where a county law is broken. He can’t get angry without tearing up and sincerely believes world peace can be achieved. Game Mechanics Finding Clues The Cold Case of Noella Bejerot isn't about clicking everything on the screen hoping you'll find everything. When you search for clues, everything that Grace thinks is important to the case will light up! This is done when you scroll your mouse over an important item. Everything you find is kept in the little evidence folder in the top left corner. Blood Meter Not all evidence is pretty. Sometimes they're covered in blood! Since Grace faints at the sight of blood, she can only look at 4 bloody items before passing out! It's up to you to decide which pieces of evidence will help your case or drive you around in circles! Don't worry though, the game will ask you whether or not you want to look at an item if it has blood on it. Questioning Witnesses Questioning witnesses is an important way to find clues and catch the villain! If you play good cop, some witnesses may feel comfortable opening up to you, but other witnesses will use it as a chance to take advantage of you and completely ignore your questions! If you play bad cop, some witnesses may feel scared and completely gush all the juicy details of the case! But! Other witnesses will get offended and not want to speak with you! It's up to you to figure out what kind of personality your witness has and what kinds of things you'll have to say to make them talk! If you don’t get any information out of your witness, the case will be that much harder to solve! Please support us here! 12. Story The allegiance of the 5 big kingdoms over the past century, Ashwell Kingdom located at the center and being the biggest and most influential, Thamor Kingdom in the west who boasts of military excellence and revolutionary weapons created, Loseon Kingdom in the north known for their rich agriculture and reign over the mountainous regions, Maicheven Kingdom in the east known for increased trades and mastery in the craft of aerial weapons and transportation such as aeroplanes, and lastly the Richmond Kingdom, a seaside kingdom and the last to join the allegiance with a relatively recent lineage, has made the country of Eclaria successful in almost all aspects, outgrowing the others found within its vicinity. However, despite the harmonious relationships of these kingdoms, a notorious phantom thief lurks around the whole country with a hidden identity, stealing the most revered artifacts, leaving no kingdom free from his hands. Gems, chests, crowns and scepters from the past generations, he leaves none of the precious artifacts behind. No one knows particularly why the phantom thief commits such crimes, as the stolen artifacts are nowhere to be seen. Recently, the phantom thief has sent a message for Ashwell Kingdom, declaring his plans of stealing a prized possession that they treasure. While Ashwell is governed by matriarchy, Rose D'elaphontaine Ashwell, only child of the Ashwell family and next in line to the throne, seizes the opportunity to catch the infamous phantom thief and put a stop to his crimes, therefore deeming herself worthy of serving the kingdom in the eyes of her constituents as well as the Queen herself. For the past century, the Ashwells have governed their kingdom this way, with the Queen Regent as the Head of the Kingdom and the King as her General. However, Rose is clueless as to who and what the real phantom thief is capable of, and in her case, what she doesn't know can truly harm her. As Rose gets closer to the truth, she comes to experience baffling emotions and these foreign feelings cause a stir inside of her. She comes across two dashing men with a recognizable social status and one who has always stood by her side. Because of the phantom thief, her life takes a major 180-degree turn, changing the princess who only knew of proper courtesy, political talks and marriage solely out of convenience. When she finds out the whole truth, will she go according to plan and ascend to the throne with flying colors, or will she risk everything in the name of love? Characters Rose D'elaphontaine Ashwell Growing up as the only child, Rose has exercised her authority in the castle all her life, constantly being in control. She possesses a spontaneous attitude and strong will, but knows how to maintain the proper courtesy and demure act. Rose is the type to charge into battle without formulating a strategy, moving with the flow and sticking up to her principles without fail. Dealing with thousands of suitors and meeting countless males in her lifetime, love is but a foreign word in her heart's dictionary. Albert Fletcher Albert was found by King Ashwell in one of his state visits to Sitopia, a country to the far east, where he met him all alone and quickly grew fond of the boy's potential. Bringing him to Eclaria and taking him under his wing, the best teachers provided him unrivaled research material and trained him for combat - in return for his loyal service. Albert has been in the castle since he was 8 years old, his parents unknown to him until now. His only family are the royal family and everyone in the castle. Richard Knightley Richard is the eldest son in the Knightley family, with one younger brother. All eyes are on this man, dealing him massive pressure to become successful. Becoming the successor of the Knightley family is not an easy childhood to go by. He did have acquaintances, but no one to call his friends. With the Knightley's influence and power all over the kingdom, they have close ties with the royal family. Although he is aware that marrying the princess will be the easiest way to get his dream, he knows better than to do so with his pure efforts and unparalleled skill. Oliver Richmond Oliver is the second child in the family, leaving him the slightest pressure to begin with and the freedom to do his hobbies and travel most of the time. Though contained and trained to a certain formality, he looks up to his big brother and treats his little sister very carefully. He remembers his sister whenever he is with Rose, as according to him, she resembles his dear sister. 13. Hi guys! Figured this would be a good place to share updates on my first and latest vn project. Since it's being created as part of my senior thesis, the demo will be out by the end of april, so look out for it! I hope to continue after graduation and complete the game in full with all 3 endings if I can get the support to do so. Project updates are posted here: https://relentless-vn.tumblr.com/ As always I'm very open to feedback once the demo is released because I really want to create the full game as best as I possibly can. Information about Relentless: Visual Novel: Play along as a young noblewoman living in the Great Steam Era of Amaranth. Nothing, not even your over-controlling step-father can prevent you from experiencing the joys of perusing the city night-life. Or can it? Not everything is as it seems in the complex world of the nobility and you find yourself suddenly thrust into the underbelly of something big..something only a select few know about. 3 Total endings Ages 16+ for mature language/topics Genre: Steampunk fantasy/mystery

Harry Potter and the Mysterious Thief part I is a fan game which takes place in Harry Potter universe. You play as Harry Potter, who is now working as an Auror. Harry has to work on the Mysterious Thief's case together with Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley. During the investigation he develops romantic feelings towards his former school enemy - Draco. Since this is the first part there is only one ending, but it is important how you will get to it. Features One to two hours of gameplay; Five CGs; Two NSFW CGs. I've put a lot of love and care in this game during development, so hope you will enjoy playing it!
  15. Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share with you the VN I've been working on with some friends. After that, i wanted to share the peculiar history behind the development, as we've had many questions that can only be answered by asking you directly. It is important to us that you give us your feedback, whether you like the project or not (especially if you don't!): “Rejoice, brothers and sisters, for The Answer has been proclaimed. Blessed be those who know how to listen.” -Nova City foundation chronicles In a world torn apart by crisis, war and hunger, our old leaders faced a dilemma: either find an answer to the conflict or leave humanity to its imminent destruction. They chose the answer. But this answer was not found, it was built. Nova City, humanity´s new hope Nova City is a vibrant symbol of hope and progress. It stands over the ruins of the war-torn world we left behind. Bursting with life and commerce, it seems unthinkable that the city itself is also a massive computer built to house “The Answer”: a system created to govern in the most rational and optimized way, excluding humanity from the exercise of political power. The Answer has brought prosperity to Nova City, and its citizens have lived devoid of major conflicts for over two centuries. Inside an apartment of this city, you wake up to find a tarot card that someone must have slipped under your door. The message is clear: The Fortune Teller has chosen you as the next victim. Afraid to leave your apartment, you rush to your computer to make a call that will change the lives of many people (or even end them) as the delicate balance of power in the city begins to shift. Embark on this noir tale of mystery and intrigue that will pit humanity’s reason against our own inevitable emotional nature. Game & Features From the start, you have locked yourself in your apartment to hide from the serial killer called "The Fortune Teller". In such a predicament, you’ll be interacting with Nova City and its people through your computer’s screen. From your computer, you’ll be able to make calls, tap into people’s phones and gain access to confidential information. You’ll also be able to hack into security systems in order to, for example, tail someone through traffic light’s camera feeds. During the course of the story, you’ll be able to create alliances with Nova City’s most important factions, gaining powerful friends (and enemies) in the process. Hacklist is currently being developed for PC/Mac. Features: Emotion Compass: Allows you to see how people feel, and how their emotional state changes as you touch certain topics. This will allow you to call bluffs, understand people better, push them to act in certain ways or set the mood for intimate conversations. Profiler: You'll have access to police reports for everyone you speak to. The profiler updates itself as new events unfold, and will give you some insights and hints about your contact's personality, letting you know how people may react differently to the same emotions. Hacklist also presents some new mechanics to the usual VN structure in the form of Apps you can use at any time during your experience: Skall: A videochat app where most dialogues/scenes will happen. Watermelon News: A social network where you'll be able to read people's posts and Nova City News. Remote.hack: Access networks, hack into security cameras, tap phones, and get into other people's computers to reveal their darkest secrets. The story behind the story... (and how your opinion will decide the changes we'll make) So! We're a team of 6 living and working in Caracas, Venezuela. This is a project born a couple of years ago in a itch.io game jam, back when it looked like this: (and yep... that's me!) After the jam, the project leads wanted to continue the project. I couldn't at that time because of my job, so they formed Caustic Games to do it. That's how the second version of Hacklist was born. It was a much more polished product, and it had a new cyberpunk/vaporwave style. This version was approved on Square Enix Collective, where you can still play the demo. (That's Kentai on the center. They grow up so fast! *sniff*) (A screenshot of our pseudo-antagonist Clive Jackson. Remember the name, we'll come back to him in a bit!) The campaign was successful, and we received a lot of feedback that helped us detect some flaws we had. Around this time, 2 of the main artists left the project, and the remaining artist and myself (i had just joined the team) couldn't accurately replicate the previous artist's style, so we were forced to abandon a style we liked in favor of making a new one that we could handle better. Eventually, we rewrote the whole story, keeping the same characters and archetypes mostly intact. But this story was to be set in a futuristic utopia, rather than the bleak future from the previous cyberpunk setting. After some time, we decided that a futuristic Art Deco setting was perfect for the mood of future, progress and empowerment we wanted Nova City to irradiate. ...And then we hit a pretty hard roadblock: none of the characters we were designing were aesthetically cohesive with either the tone and setting, or the environment itself. So we started to make some tests on styles for the characters... ...then we made some more... ...and MORE... We finally set out to define the style and technique we would have for the in-game art, and it went down to these three versions of Clive Jackson (the guy i told you to remember from the previous version!): Aaaand that's where we stand now! we decided internally to go with the third option, as we felt the technique blended better with the background and the character was designed to resemble an Art Deco statue, from the volumetrization to the edgy style from illustrations of the 1920's, 30's and 40's. The thing is, we kind of went open minded about changing the anime style to something that better reflected the world where the story is taking place, but none of us has seen more than a handful of non-anime visual novels, and have no idea if this art style is actually appealing or if it is, on the contrary, something that would disuade readers. Here's where you come into play! We need your feedback and opinion about the project, as asking you guys directly is the only possible way for us to know we're on the right track. We would love it if you took the time to watch the concepts, mockups and screens and tell us, honestly, which images do you find more appealing, and if the current state of art style is something you might want to see in a VN. Do you think non-anime style in VNs is something detrimental? or do you think it-s a welcome change of routine? Please let us know what you think! Thank you for reading through the end! Anything you can comment on the project is a HUGE help for us! -Jorge Veloso AKA "Vel", Artist at Caustic Games Our Team Hacklist on Facebook VNDB entry still in progress...
  16. NOW LIVE ON KICKSTARTER: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/borokaistudio/omega-pattern-visual-novel OMEGA PATTERN The content of this post is available in Spanish on http://www.patronomega.com/es/kickstarter/kickstarter-patron-omega/ KICKSTARTER VIDEO FIRST PART The Omega Pattern's first part and free demo are already available on Steam (it has been Greenlit by the Community), Itch.io, Google Play and the App Store: http://www.patronomega.com/en/#download ANALYSES Cubed3 (7/10): "Omega Pattern HD is delightful, interesting, and above all else, worth the price of admission... It's going to be a lot of fun to see how this story progresses as the future episodes come out, as Shaiel's story is definitely going to feel unique amongst the many other entries in this genre." GameRamble (7,7/10): “The story is genuinely intriguing and the choices you get to make actually impacts the story, which is a nice touch... The soundtrack is really solid... Fans of the genre who don’t mind trading in length for replay value should definitely try out Omega Pattern.” Softpedia: “A very promising visual novel... Play your part in a strange world controlled by a powerful corporation and make the desired choices to steer the plot... Fight against an evil organization bent on ruling the world... Nice artwork and many choices to be made.” CGR (7,75/10): "At this current point, Omega Pattern is already a great title and it has me awaiting what comes next for my multiple versions of Shaiel and the decisions that have affected the men that he has become." WHAT MAKE IT DIFFERENT? Omega Pattern seeks to offer a more personal and deeper experience in the visual novel genre. In Omega Pattern, we ‘reinvent’ the visual novel concept by giving you the opportunity to choose the main character’s personality in a prologue where you will recall his past. Every personality defines a character with his own storyline which will change as you advance on the story and keep making decisions. The results will depend on the consistency of the character and the impact that your decisions have in the world. In addition to this, the narrative style is different from other visual novels, letting you get into the main character’s head instead of being a mere spectator. We avoid the use of tedious descriptions to explain what’s happening and make use of the main character’s reactions and thoughts to make the scenes more realistic. For example, we prefer to use ‘Shit, my jaw!’ instead of ‘He punches me on the chin’.” GAMEPLAY Omega Pattern is a Visual Novel which offers a variable multiple-choice decision system. This means that both the number of decision points and the number of choices or options that you will find in those decision points may vary according to your previous decisions during the game. SYNOPSIS The world where the Omega Pattern story happens is seemingly normal, similar to the one we live in. However, genetics and fate mean that a few individuals are born with a kind of Pattern or special brain signal which lets them develop unique and varied psychic skills that are determined by their life experiences, which form their behavior and character. From the shadows, an organization known as Bioagora controls the world according to its own interests thanks to the power and influences that they get, in part, from their Agents. These Agents are people who own the Pattern and have been coerced, bought, forced and even captured against their will to be brainwashed and indoctrinated, so they can faithfully serve the Bioagora. Shaiel (21 years old), a man who possesses the Pattern, has found himself forced to live in secrecy in order to avoid falling into the hands of the Bioagora. However, as time passes, it gets more difficult to escape from a power which is increasing exponentially. Seeking for allies has become an unavoidable, and it seems that the only alternative available are the Celtas; a small and poorly organized group with unorthodox methods, whose plan to face the Agents and restoring an order different to the Bioagora’s seems near impossible. As the rest of the population stay impassive in a gray world, Shaiel will have Shaiel to play his cards right and find out the truth hidden by the Bioagora, the Celtas and himself. FEATURES Become the Main Character: Decide what to do in the most relevant moments of Shaiel’s past. This will determine his current personality and therefore his psychic abilities and the decisions that you will be able to take in the future. 3 Story Lines: Access to 3 significantly different story lines, which means that you will have a high replay experience where you will find suspense, action, drama, comedy, horror and romance. +6 Hours: The variable multiple-choice decision system that we have implemented for the first part of the visual novel can grant you up to 6 hours of gameplay or more. Mobile Optimized: You will enjoy the same experience both in the Desktop (PC and Mac), Mobile and iPad versions. Full HD: 2048×1536 resolution for iPad users and 1920×1080 for Desktop and Mobile users. Manga Anime Style: 100% original illustrated material. Original Soundtrack: An OST that creates the perfect atmosphere in every situation. GALLERY CG Event Gameplay Decision Game Menu Main Menu Settings ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Game Rumble: "...A really good soundtrack. None of the thirteen songs featured on the soundtrack sound like your typical visual novel fare and they all complement the mood of the game nicely. From sinister tracks like “Gurdjief Lessons” and “Death Valley” to melancholic ones like “In Memory Of” and whimsical ones like “Kids,” the songs are all really good..." Listen to the OST! THE FINAL PART: WHY KICKSTARTER? This Kickstarter campaign expects to get funding for the big final part of the visual novel. Borokai Studio is an indie group and Omega Pattern is his first indie visual novel. Besides being indie, Omega Pattern intends to be a very long visual novel (+40 hours). It’s impossible to afford this kind of project by an indie group without economic support, and here’s where the first part of Omega Pattern appears. We covered the first part expenses and released it without Kickstarter, Patreon or any kind of crowdfunding campaign because we wanted to show you the main concept of Omega Pattern (a visual novel where you define the main character’s personality and Pattern) before using this kind of resources. Omega Pattern is not an episodic visual novel. Our current intention is to release DLCs and bundles with the full Beast, King and Astral routes. The decisions you make in the first part give you access to these routes, but they won’t affect their course. This means that you don’t have to replay the first part again when we release the routes DLCs. The decision system that we’ll use for the routes won’t allow us to separate them into more parts since we want that every decision you make can cause an impact on the story as it advances as well as in the endings. Every route will be different and we’d like to give them an estimated duration of 12 hours or more. But don't worry, if we don't manage to fund the final part in this campaign, we will divide the final part into several DLCs depending on the amount pledged by the bakers and we will relaunch a new Kickstarter campaign with a lower goal in order to release the next Omega Pattern's DLC. COST BREAKDOWN Art (35%): Over 85 CGs, 85 BGs, 8 new major characters and several minor characters. We could decrease the number of BGs and increase the number of CGs. Writing and Translation (30%): The original Omega Pattern's script is written in Spanish and we will have to cover an English professional translation. Programming, implemmentation and administration (10%). Music (10%). Kickstarter (10%). Rewards (5%). STRETCH GOALS The Omega Pattern Kickstarter's main goal is 33.000€. If we reach it, we will try to improve the visual novel with these stretch goals. 38.000€: MORE ART. Over 100 CGs and 100 BGs. We could decrease the number of BGs and increase the number of CGs. 43.000€: R-18 CONTENT. We will include some erotic, soft and non-explicit content/scenes (Hollywood style). 65.000€: PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH VOICE ACTING. REWARDS Thank you (1€): Every dollar matters! Thank you very much! 17. Hi guys, I'm Ben and this is my first visual novel that I've made by myself one-man-band style. I'm a professional concept artist who's been working on other people's projects for 8 years and finally decided to make something for my own. I hope you guys can help me on this journey Honest critiques are welcome. The game is coming out on Steam soon, you can visit the page here. Plot: Set in Salem, 1692, at the height of witch hysteria, a family is found murdered in their home ans suspicion quickly falls to something supernatural behind it all. This is a murder mystery where you will investigate the crime and sieve through the evidence the witnesses provide, deduct an outcome and piece together the bigger picture. There are multiple characters that you can accuse of the crime and will need to be thorough to connect all the evidence together. Thanks for looking. Here's some screenshots for ya

While applying for a job at AppSir, Inc., the game development company plunges into chaos as nightmarish glitches start appearing in their games. Soon after, he meets a mysterious woman named Kara Gentner. Day by day, things start to feel just a bit different. Daily experiences are becoming a blur and just the smallest things seem to be off. At night, he hears a strange hum around his room before night terrors haunt him in his sleep. His new friend Kara is starting to show her sinister side, too. The man is terrified, and maybe he’s right to be.

  20. KICKSTARTER | WEBSITE | TWITTER | ITCH.IO | FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM | TUMBLR | LEMMASOFT Update #10: Mysteries and Science Fiction in A Near Dawn Our KickStarter wrapped at 76% ~ We didn't quite reach our goal. It will be nice to take a little break and reflect on things. You can download the full Prologue for A Near Dawn FREE on Itch.io (Russian Version available, as well) / Steam / GooglePlay (Android Version) A Near Dawn is a visual adventure created by Leonid Pilchin. It is the first commercial project from Far-off Daydream Games. A Near Dawn is an enjoyable yet devastating psychological thriller with amusing highs, gut-wrenching crashes, and mature themes. While grounded in reality, supernatural and science fiction elements will unfold as the story progresses. The opening sees our main character - Seattle-based attorney Sam Nichols - who seems to be experiencing disturbing psychological difficulties, exposed to progressively dire circumstances that threaten to unravel his reality and destroy those closest to him. Haunted by personal demons, with your law firm struggling and on the brink of collapse, you take the helm on an important new case involving a ruthless multinational corporation, defended by some of the vilest people you ever had the misfortune of knowing. The odds already seem stacked against you, but you will soon learn that things are not as they appear, as a deeper conspiracy begins to emerge. Where will you end up if you keep untangling the threads? You must be brave to uncover the truth. This project is an interactive visual novel adventure featuring: Beautiful artwork and animations rendered in 1080p Immersive cinematics with some frame-by-frame animation Original music composed for the game Full voice audio provided by some very talented actors Puzzles to solve - the flow of this game is inspired by traditional adventure games Dynamic decisions that alter the course of your interactions with others - rewards or consequences for your actions Psychological tension - the main character has a darker personality who will come to the surface if you feed that darkness Multiple endings - there is one true ending, but your successes or failures can take you off course Episodic narrative - This is a full game, but it is part of an ambitious project with a far-reaching storyline The plot will not progress without you, you are in control of the main character's actions at every turn. You will explore your environment and speak to other characters to learn about what is happening and what must be done. A key concept of this game was to give as much freedom and put as much detail into the content of the story as could be managed, as such you will have the option to skip important elements of the game not necessary for advancing the main plot if your character chooses to ignore them or fails to explore them. At the same time, you will not be able to move forward without resolving issues necessary for advancing the story along. In fair Seattle, where we lay our scene. We're getting close to finishing art for the opening! The neighborhood diner near your workplace. Our story begins here with a chat between two of our protagonists over a lunch that goes terribly wrong. Where, oh where could this be? 21. Summary: Broken Minds is a murder-mystery visual novel set in 90s Japan. When lonely 20-something Noa Karada finds herself being stalked by a mysterious killer in a rabbit mask known as The Orphan, she contacts the Yamagata Private Detective Agency for help. However, as her case grows more complex, the detectives grow more distant and eccentric. Perhaps Noa would’ve been better off never letting them into her life at all… Features: • Explorable environments • Inventive mystery-solving gameplay • Many choices & hidden secrets throughout • Six different endings • Over an hour of original music • That indie game sense of humor you've come to know and love • Intense rabbit-related imagery Available to Buy Now, or Play the Demo! https://lockedon.itch.io/broken-minds Screenshots: Trailer: ~ A Brief Note From The Esteemed Creator ~ Hello everybody! It's my first time on this forum, and on this site in general. I too want visual novels to spread in the West, and am excited by the possibilities of what Western-created VNs can be. I'm especially interested in visual novels that avoid common anime tropes and clichés, and break new ground with a unique tone, look, feel, and perspective. That's what I hoped to do when I created Broken Minds. It's been two years since I started working on it — I'm the sole developer, so progress was a bit slow. I'd really appreciate it if you told me what you think. Thanks! — LockedOn.
  22. We're live on kickstarter! Please support us and play the demo! A city on edge as a serial killer roams the streets... Frustrated by one unsolved murder after another, forensics graduate student Rei Kuroshima decides to get his hands dirty to solve the crimes. He resolves to copy the killings to chase the serial killer known as "the Doctor" in order to figure out how the murders were accomplished. Although, he begins to develop certain... urges. Along with his supervisor Aiden Steele, a detective oblivious to Rei’s identity as the copycat killer, he must piece together a trail of evidence to uncover the identity of “the Doctor.” At school, however, Rei must also maintain his normal student life while dealing with his desire to kill, leading him to the ultimate choice - Who will he choose to love, and who will he resolve to kill? Rei is an orphan with an affinity for all things science. He’s a 1st year graduate student with a focus on Forensics at Teikoku University. Rei enjoys staying busy: he’s a Peer Leader for a Forensics Psychology lecture, a part-time crime forensicist at a crime agency, and a home tutor. Although, there’s nothing more exciting to Rei than being able to solve a difficult case. But what will happen when the case doesn’t present any answers? To Rei, it means getting his hands dirty… Aiden is an all-American boy who is Rei’s supervisor at the Crime Agency. He is a homicide detective and accompanies Rei to the crime scenes whenever a murder occurs. He is in charge of both the main cases in this story: Doctor’s Case and Copycat’s Case. Aiden is a widower of five years and has been struggling to quit smoking ever since. He often daydreams about his murdered wife, whose case has yet to be solved. Slowly, he’s starting to open up to Rei about his past. Aiden is extremely tough on Rei, as he tries desperately to keep his distance from anything too personal by maintaining a strict supervisor/employee relationship. Jun is a professor at Teikoku University. He is in charge of the Forensics Psychology course that Rei is the peer leader for, though he often lets Rei teach instead of himself. He is also the professor for multiple human anatomy courses at the school. Jun is in charge of managing the university hospital as well as the morgue and crematorium associated with it. He often toys around with Rei and teases him almost everyday. The two of them had a brief physical relationship in the past, which Jun attempts to rekindle at any possible moment. He is a highly secretive man, but generally allows Rei to get close to him during the day. Minami is a tiny little sunspot. He was raised in a normal, happy family with his two kid brothers. He goes to a highly esteemed high school and is being tutored by Rei to enter Teikoku University for veterinary medicine. Minami tries to make himself seem more manly than he actually is, like working part time to rent his own cheap apartment, learning how to cook from Rei, and even wanting to live on his own to “grow up.” Minami loves spending time with Rei, even though Rei often treats him like he’s a pain in the ass. Minami is a little bit of an airhead and super clumsy, which often makes Rei irritated. However, Minami wants nothing more than to get closer to Rei. Griffith is quite reserved and calm in nature, though developed a small, internal rebellious streak while in high school (as seen by his piercings). He was born and raised by his father in America after his parents divorced when he and his twin brother, Leo, were born. He’s a 2nd year law student with a concentration in forensics at Teikoku University and is currently Rei’s student in the Forensics Psychology course. Griffith enjoys spending his free time with his elder twin brother, though that time spent is mainly just being teased by Leo or… maybe teasing Leo instead? Leo is a 2nd year criminal psychology student at Teikoku University and is Rei’s student in the forensics psychology course, along with his brother Griffith. Unlike his brother, Leo is the wild one. He’s eccentric, and far more forward than his brother. He was born in America but raised in England with his mother when his parents divorced. Leo loves to tease his younger brother but often finds himself receiving the tail end of his game later in the evening at their apartment. Mido is a bit of a know-it-all and acts like his jokes are the most hilarious things he hears all day. He’s a dork and a bit of an airhead as well. Mido works at the same crime agency as Rei and is also involved in both the Doctor’s case and the Copycat killer’s case as Rei’s assistant forensic scene investigator. He often jokes and teases Rei during the work day, he may even harbor some innocent feelings towards Rei that are never noticed. A law professor at Teikoku university who is often seen hanging over Jun. Daichi is a married man with three young children. He is considered to be a gruff and cold professor, though he’s nice to Jun and goes out drinking with him every other week. Kii Age: Approximately 3 years old Owner: Rei Given to Rei by Jun. She's an indoor cat and spends most of her time sleeping and waiting for Rei to come home from his busy schedule. ----------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- 1st Degree is a boy's love game in development by Parival, a recently created visual novel development team focused on boy's love visual novels. We're currently seeking a few voice actors. The game will feature 4 routes- Aiden, Jun, Minami, and the twins Griffith and Leo- but, Rei will eventually kill off at least 3 characters. Choose who will live, who will die, and who will end up with Rei! 23. Hi there! I'm developing my first ever visual novel called The Cold Case of Noella Bejerot. It's a detective story about a girl named Grace Sinclair who gets kicked out of high school, kicked out of her house, and wanders the streets in search of a home. Things start to look up when she gets offered a job as a detective! The only problem is... how can a girl who faints at the sight of blood solve murder cases? If that sounds interesting, feel free to look at exclusive sneak peak into the actual writing of the game here: https://thecoldcaseofnoellabejerot.wordpress.com/2017/09/27/short-excerpt That's a pretty basic of the synopsis I have on the story. Here's a more detailed version of the story here: Grace Sinclair is a less than stellar student. In fact, she’s flunked out of her high school at 20 years old! That’s not even the worst of her problems. Her dad kicks her out, and now starving and homeless, our hero bravely steals a snack from the convenience store on the other side of town. All while she’s hiding her secret from her quirky co-workers, who I remind you are DETECTIVES, before she ends up back on the street! She’ll have to solve her hardest case yet when she faces, The Cold Case of Noella Bejerot. You'll meet some interesting characters that I will be posting about next week on my wordpress. I post a blog every Wednesday. Next Wednesday, is the start of character spotlights, so you won't want to miss it! Please feel free to check it out here: https://thecoldcaseofnoellabejerot.wordpress.com For more real time updates on the development of the game, I post them here: https://twitter.com/CCNBdev I would love to here feedback on your thoughts about the story! Our demo will be released late November/early December!
  24. Five strangers find themselves trapped in an abandoned hotel that’s set to collapse in 24 hours. To escape alive, they'll have to solve their captor’s riddles and unravel the mystery behind their abduction. Trailer: Screenshots: Project Introduction Hey, everyone. I've been making the rounds promoting my game here and there, and now I turn my eyes to fuwanovel! This is an episodic mystery VN I’ve been working on for way, way too long. This is a passion project that I've been making in my spare time. I was very much inspired by 999, so you may get some ZE vibes from this. Hopefully in a good way! Oh, and the game is 100% free. I'd be very happy if you at least gave it a try! Progress As the thread title may suggest, Exit/Corners is OUT! You can play the game right now by following the link below. Episodes are short - around 10-20 minutes each - but new episodes are released every week. We're already at 8 episodes, so I'd say it's a good time to jump on in! The first arc is a 17-episode series, with new episodes released every Sunday until September 17th of this year. Aside from fixing up what I've already got, I'm currently working on the second arc. It is scheduled for release next year. Play Exit/Corners Play in your browser on the official site: http://exitcorners.com/play.html While I do have the game on itch.io, I'm fixing an issue with that version, so please play on the main site for now. 25. After receiving a weird mail consisting of nothing more than an unknown address, Michael—who’s normally so indifferent and placid—finds himself mysteriously and almost unconsciously drawn to it. So much so that he decided to ditch afternoon classes in order to follow a lead that probably doesn’t even exist. But what was at first ‘probably not even worth the effort’ degenerated quite rapidly into something much more significant than that. Indeed, now here he stands, in the middle of a room somehow nostalgic yet so creepy no one would ever feel compelled to connect it with their own memories. This dark, eerie room… Full of birthday decorations even though the building has long since been deserted. His birthday party from seven years ago, recreated almost to the perfection. Its sole purpose? Making him remember that night... That night when he lost his entire self, and all of his memories. The night of his parents’ murders. And as though this situation wasn’t already enough, a Voice, mechanical and almost joyful, proclaims from the other side of the line to be the one behind it all. It continues on with nonsensical words, one after the other. Things Michael doesn’t even comprehend. But he does catch the Voice’s parting words. The Voice’s threat. Something about the importance of his friends, and to what length he needs to go in order to save them. This is the story of a young man who’s desperately trying to cut himself out of the world surrounding him, and the choice he’s ultimately forced to make in order to save the few friends he has. Questions: - Does the story sounds interesting to you? - Do you like the art style? - About choices in visual novels in general. Do you prefer having lots of choices, but more meaningless ones (skipping insignificant events/changing some dialogues)? Or do you prefer having a restricted amount of choices, but more meaningful (which branches the story)? Or maybe a mix of them both, which might give the illusion of a more concrete experience? - Do you have any tips or advice to give regarding the summary/character descriptions? Or do you feel that the premise of the story is well conveyed? While I tend to be more minimalist on those kinds of things, some might prefer a more tangible approach. - Any suggestion/critic/commentary? Anything would be helpful.
