  1. Trying to unpack a Black Lilith game using xmoe's KrKrextract, when I move the game exe to the program it produces link below error, occurs whether .dll and/or just exe in game folder or not. Uninstalling LE doesn't help. System is set to locale, Unicode box ticked. What to do? 2nd link is unclear on how exactly it was solved.
  2. hello guys, first sorry for my bad English. i need help for translating UI menu related bellow. my team tried to translate visual novel called "shiina maho no himitsu" to our language. vn with unity engine so far i translated the scenario script and tested it without an error i tried to translate ui menu ,extract asset with garbro, modified image asset with photoshop. repacking with tool called BinIdxPacker when i tested it,an error occurred. Game screen goes pitch black after i open it. i clicked it nothing happened, and then i clicked close button, some box appeared but it can't be clicked. after that,i thought that error occurred from image asset that i edited. so i tried to extract asset again, and repack it immediately. when i open the game again with asset i just repacked, the same error still occurred. i have no idea why the error occurred. maybe BinidxPacker not support for repacking other asset like image, sound, etc? or other things that i missed or didn't know ,that makes error occurred? and can you guys tell me if there is any repacking tools for unity vn or .bin file format besides binidxpacker,please...
  3. Hello guys, I'm just joined this forum today after 5th try to sign up xD Currently i and my team is translating visual novel called "kanojo no seiiki" to our languange and its goes smoothly. But when i'm trying to edit The Title bar in the appconfig.tjs it does nothing and not working. do you guys know how to edit this title bar or i missing something else ? Thanks, Gilang4321
  4. Hi yall, I'm trying to set up Hime to Aiyoku no Sacrifice for translation, using GARbro and Escude Editor. So far, I've been able to get the UI and scene scripts working in game. But for the life of me I can't seem to change the character names. The only complete list of names I could find is on z_sample.bin under script.bin, (Found another one, update below) But sadly, changing the names here doesn't seem to work. Looking through the engine configs and scripts, I noticed the games seem to use some sort of NAME IDs as flags, but Escude Editor only shows the readable text of the .bin files, so I have no idea what is actually happening around the dialogue. I'd really appreciate any and all information you might have. Thanks in advance. Update (Jun 24, 2020): Just found db_scr.bin under data.bin which also has a list of character names and likely the place I was looking for. However, Escude Editor can't seem to open these .bin files. Readable by notepad++ with SHIFT-JIS, but causes error when saved. If anyone has a way to edit this please let me know~ data.bin~.7z (Mega Link) Update (Jun 25, 2020): After quite a bit of fiddling with the file, I was able to get it work with just Notepad++. Turns out, if I make sure that the overall spaces between the sections remains the same, the game will launch and recognize these input with no problem. However, this method is very finicky and time-consuming. Any slight errors: missing or overdoing a single space would corrupt the entire list - meaning I've had to repack constantly for a few changes at a time to make sure that there's no errors since doing too many at once may cause me to lose track where the error might lie. Definitely doable, but hardly an efficient solution. On the top of my head, I'm thinking making a code where missing/additional spaces are automatically compensated, plus the ability to extract readable text like the Escude Editor and recompile\save the changes would be the best option. But since I have monkey level of programming knowledge, the aforementioned method is my only option. Thanks for reading and hopefully this can become helpful down the line for anyone that might run into the same problem. I would greatly appreciate any additional input you might have.
  5. So, currently I'm trying to extract files from a game based on Kirkiri. When I try to drag and drop onto KrkrExtract.exe I'm getting the following: My first thought was the System locale - but that's all set to Japanese. I tried every possible option to find out what causes the error, and I noticed the following: With KrkrExtract.exe alone in the folder the Game starts up fine. If I copy KrkrExtract.dll too the game exe itself doesn't even start anymore except for showing me the error. (I hope that makes sense what I say here, just copying the .dll to the directoy f*cks this game up?) However, I can still try to un-pack, but obviously all data is corrupted. Can anybody help? I thought about ditching this for good, but despite the fact I already translated everything.. :/ I thought I'd give it a shot here.
  6. I was able to extract the scene files and images to translate using crass-0.4.14.0 . But I don't have a way of repacking them back in .eme file format. The game is unable to find the translated .txt files if they are outside of the .eme .Is there any tool that allows me to repack them back or modify the text files within the .eme? Here are the data files: https://mega.nz/file/XpwSjIQb#EK-Grjoa_De0siyFln-_PTLUIxPyh4CqC7Gi3qkPywM , GARbro-v1.5.44.2904 also works in extracting the files. If someone finds a way for me to translate this, you have my respect. Here is the entire game: https://mega.nz/file/TkwjGAxB#AaXO1JQuqVo3Kv3eB2JBFyhwsJQD2lQHX9GRsUPV0dA
  7. So I was trying to extract the files from the game directory for this game - https://vndb.org/v19083 But when I extract the files from the circled ones, the texts that come up are garbled nonsense. I tried to switch to different encoding but the results remained the same. First of all I went into the game directory and extracted the contents of this file - Then I selected the CODE file to open thinking it will have the coding part - But all it showed was this blasphemy - Then I changed the encoding several times but the results were more or less the same - Does anyone have any idea, how can I hack the script for this game? Thanks for taking time to read this post.
  8. I was just wondering what's the whole process of starting a localization company. I was intrigued by the idea but searching on the net amounted to nothing. I would be very grateful if someone can explain me the process, especially in details.
  9. As the title suggests, I'm having trouble going about starting my own personal Visual Novel project. I have experience playing Little Busters and I am truly inspired by how much content is in the game. My only question is how they manage to include different and unique content in each route and each different choice you make. I was wondering if someone could explain a strategy that is used prior to writing the script that could help me manage a flowchart well. Thanks!
  10. Hi, I need a software that could help me unpack and then repack EVER17 scripts files ("script.dat") so I can translate the game in my mother tongue. The script files extension is ".scr".
  11. Hi there I'm trying to extract files from No, Thank You!!! game. Those files are .ypf files. I succeeded to extract some but, for some reasons, some others don't want to get extracted with arc_conv... And, now, I have many .ybn files and I don't know what to do with them... Can you help me please? I would like to translate this game so hard!
  12. Hi, (REMEMBER TO READ THE EDITS AT THE END THANKS) I want to translate VNs in my language since quite a while now but everytime I want to I fail, I'll be detailing my process to search tools and then the VNs I want to TL so you can help me find where I am wrong. I proceed like this : I do researches, download programs on github, unpack the script file(s) and then the files I extracted / unpack are also encrypted. OR even sometimes there is a fan-translation that was made but no public program to unpack to translate in another language. The translators of the fan-translation provide no contact (or don't reply) so I can't ask them to help me. I'm gonna be very specific because I tried this process many times with only 3 VNs. -The first one I tried to translate is Steins;Gate, very popular VN I saw first a demo of a translator I contacted to ask him why he didn't finished it.. he didn't had the time to do it but he didn't remember how to unpack the files so he gave me the .TXTs but it's useless if I can't reinsert them into the game. After that I searched and found 4-5 programs to unpack the files. The first program is the extractor-insertor which is not available in .exe so I tried another which had an .exe and it worked well. The unpacker showed the unpakced files which were with the extension .SCX and were encrypted so I gave up after many other researches with no result about those files. -The second was Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort, it's not a very popular game but it's running on ADV HD I think and has .arc files which I unpacked but there wasn't the dialogs and texts in the script.arc or chip*.arc files. I downloaded an english patch for the game and saw the only files that were different from the original japanese one were rio.arc and sysgraphic.arc for the ui of course. Again I try to unpack them but the program don't recognize rio.arc. - The third and last is School Days, I DL a spanish patch to help me find were the script are, by deduction like I did with Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort and found them but I searched tools to unpack .GPK files but I didn't find any relevant results. Do you have tips for me to find tools or to fix this problem by myself? EDIT 1 : I'm DL right now (31/03/2020) tons of tool for Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort since I found the search button of this goldmine of information which is this forum. EDIT 2 : I achived to extract the dialogs and texts of Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort with this : Now all I need is to find a way to get ahdprc to work to reinsert them after the TL. If someone know how ahdprc work, a step-by-step tutorial for it wouldn't be too much. EDIT 3 : I found more informations about the autor of the School days spanish patch.
  13. I have a port for a game and want to release it on fuwanovel, but I do not have a translation for that game (no translation exists, official or unofficial). Is there any board where I could make a thread for said port? Or should I look into releasing it elsewhere?
  14. How can I find out which font is used in Steins;Gate Hen'i Kuukan no Octet?
  15. I want to learn visual novel programing and editing and how everything works and stuff. I dont wanna make a visual novel, I'm more interested to help with translation work in the future. I got like 2 years of free time and I'm at the state where I'm confused about what I wanna do in life, so might as well pick up and learn something. I dont know where to start, I'm curious about kirikiri engine(and unity and other japanese engines), since it is discussed a lot, so I just wanna learn. Anyone got suggestions on where a beginner like me can start?
  16. I'm trying to translate "Aniki No Yome-san nara, Ore ni Hamerarete Hiihii Itteru Tokoro Da yo" I'm about 65% complete, but every time I try to translate a female characters nameplate, it results in the audio file they're supposed to say not playing at all. Here's an example, at line 158 when the female speaks, I translated her name and when I change her name in the system file, it shows up but the audio file that's supposed to play called "file=s0001" it doesn't play. Here's a link to the first scenario file and the raw system file. https://mega.nz/#F!EGpERKYb!byl2crjRPQr5zIzNRgcKDw If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  17. I saw on this blog that Saihate no Ima is listed among the unextractables...But someone commented that GARbro can be used. So I tried with GARbro but didn't discover the script files. And the extracted images are not accessible, with a ".p" extension. Since TLWiki Stats recorded the total size of the script file of Saihate ("Engine" is left blank, though), so I suppose someone must have succeeded in extracting them. I just have no idea. Any hint would be appreciated.
  18. So I'm trying to play Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 2 on PSP. I tried many version of PPSSPP, Textractor and VNR, but I couldn't find any working hook codes, so I tried reading the memory with Cheat Engine, but once again, I couldn't find any region in the memory the text on screen would be copied to. But I found that each text has a code written before it in the memory e.g. ARS2100120. Then I also found a region in the memory which updates to the text code corresponding to the text currently on screen. The question is, can I even do anything with that, like search for that code and copy what ever is after that until it hits 00 which indicates the start of another text code?
  19. 武者前五重境界:武士镜、武徒境、武师镜、武宗镜、武王镜,武尊,神武镜 帝王镜 灵者前四重境界:灵士镜、灵师镜、灵宗镜、灵王镜 ,灵圣 Please Help me translate this
  20. Sorry if this is messy, as I'm new to this forum. I'm programming a VN where my MC will find people based on where she locates herself on a map of her school. Example: She can go to "rooftop or cafeteria", and there she will find someone at a random stat percentage of chance. I need to program how to click on that location on a image that will be static onto the screen until you make a choice, then program the percentage for a person to greet her there. Can someone help me work this out? Thanks in advance! ;w;
  21. Hi. I would like to translate Muv-Luv (Steam version) into my native language (polish). However, I can't get to the game archives. I tried different tools from the web, but they all didn't work with Steam version. Could someone help me get to them? Thanks in advance for help.
  22. I know nothing about game design, coding, programming, it Japanese, but I wanted to try my hand at translating a game to get better at all of the above. My problem is I don't even know where to start. I have the game, and the archive files are right there, but they arent in any format. They're just blank. I have no idea where to even start, if this is even the right place to start. Help? Or just a nudge? Anything is better than the blind fumbling I'm doing now.
  23. Hello, I am interested in managing/creating a fan translation group but I'm unsure where to start and what I should know. I'd appreciate some advice from fellow fuwanovel members! I'm not very fluent with my Japanese but I'd love to help in aspects such as illustration. I can make a mascot design for our group, Icons for the members, Logo, etc for the blog and social media. I'd like to make a group with a fun friendly atmosphere where we can build a bond with each other!
  24. Hi guys, I'm a inexperienced translator trying to figure out how to extract the script from Astronaut's Nukige "Erect!" and I'm running into some problems (I'm not really good at technical issues). The game files are .gxp which I was able to extract using asmodean's tool, but inside the bincode.gxp is a moacode.mwb file . Using hex editor it's obvious that's where all of the dialogue for the game goes, but I can't figure out how to extract it. I look it up in the old data extraction thread and learn that their later games use the .mwb as a zlib file....I tried using some zlib tools to extract it but it seems like it's not a zlib file in this game. This has been mentioned before by Yasminkov If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it, thanks.
