  1. Story: Find someone else is a visual novel about the ever-changing nature of relationships, the hardships of dealing with loss and the unfair inevitability of illness and death. Gameplay: Step into the shoes of Noah, a tired protagonist, trying to cope with his girlfriend’s worsening illness. 1+ hour story with many different paths to follow. Explore the darker sides of Stockholm in the company of complex and lost characters. Is love unconditional? End: This game comes from a very personal place and was in many ways necessary to make, storywise. That said, I've still modelled the gameplay after my own preferences for lots of choices and complex characters in games. The graphical style is a mix of the two pools of inspiration I'm raised on: expressive, japanese manga and dark, nordic comic books. Hopefully you'll find something different in this game. It's available here on Itch.io. Free to download.
  2. Hey everyone! I made a post here a while back about a Kinetic Visual Novel series I'm working on called Viridescent Dragon. A few days ago I released the third chapter of my visual novel on itch.io, gamejolt and indiedb. I used Ren'py and it's available on Windows, Mac, Linux and Android devices. Official Website: http://viridescentdragon.weebly.com/ Here's the general story: After waking up in a forest, meet Charlotte, the smack-talking, amnesic dragon girl who travels with her friends on a quest to regain her memories... Who is she and where did she really come from? The journey won't be easy, as she will have to conquer many obstacles and find out the hidden truths about the world she travels through, the friends she makes, the reigning monarchs, and the deities that are worshiped... Thank you very much for checking out my game! Please be sure to leave feedback as I would love to hear from you! Also be sure to share with your friends!
  3. We're live on kickstarter! Please support us and play the demo! A city on edge as a serial killer roams the streets... Frustrated by one unsolved murder after another, forensics graduate student Rei Kuroshima decides to get his hands dirty to solve the crimes. He resolves to copy the killings to chase the serial killer known as "the Doctor" in order to figure out how the murders were accomplished. Although, he begins to develop certain... urges. Along with his supervisor Aiden Steele, a detective oblivious to Rei’s identity as the copycat killer, he must piece together a trail of evidence to uncover the identity of “the Doctor.” At school, however, Rei must also maintain his normal student life while dealing with his desire to kill, leading him to the ultimate choice - Who will he choose to love, and who will he resolve to kill? Rei is an orphan with an affinity for all things science. He’s a 1st year graduate student with a focus on Forensics at Teikoku University. Rei enjoys staying busy: he’s a Peer Leader for a Forensics Psychology lecture, a part-time crime forensicist at a crime agency, and a home tutor. Although, there’s nothing more exciting to Rei than being able to solve a difficult case. But what will happen when the case doesn’t present any answers? To Rei, it means getting his hands dirty… Aiden is an all-American boy who is Rei’s supervisor at the Crime Agency. He is a homicide detective and accompanies Rei to the crime scenes whenever a murder occurs. He is in charge of both the main cases in this story: Doctor’s Case and Copycat’s Case. Aiden is a widower of five years and has been struggling to quit smoking ever since. He often daydreams about his murdered wife, whose case has yet to be solved. Slowly, he’s starting to open up to Rei about his past. Aiden is extremely tough on Rei, as he tries desperately to keep his distance from anything too personal by maintaining a strict supervisor/employee relationship. Jun is a professor at Teikoku University. He is in charge of the Forensics Psychology course that Rei is the peer leader for, though he often lets Rei teach instead of himself. He is also the professor for multiple human anatomy courses at the school. Jun is in charge of managing the university hospital as well as the morgue and crematorium associated with it. He often toys around with Rei and teases him almost everyday. The two of them had a brief physical relationship in the past, which Jun attempts to rekindle at any possible moment. He is a highly secretive man, but generally allows Rei to get close to him during the day. Minami is a tiny little sunspot. He was raised in a normal, happy family with his two kid brothers. He goes to a highly esteemed high school and is being tutored by Rei to enter Teikoku University for veterinary medicine. Minami tries to make himself seem more manly than he actually is, like working part time to rent his own cheap apartment, learning how to cook from Rei, and even wanting to live on his own to “grow up.” Minami loves spending time with Rei, even though Rei often treats him like he’s a pain in the ass. Minami is a little bit of an airhead and super clumsy, which often makes Rei irritated. However, Minami wants nothing more than to get closer to Rei. Griffith is quite reserved and calm in nature, though developed a small, internal rebellious streak while in high school (as seen by his piercings). He was born and raised by his father in America after his parents divorced when he and his twin brother, Leo, were born. He’s a 2nd year law student with a concentration in forensics at Teikoku University and is currently Rei’s student in the Forensics Psychology course. Griffith enjoys spending his free time with his elder twin brother, though that time spent is mainly just being teased by Leo or… maybe teasing Leo instead? Leo is a 2nd year criminal psychology student at Teikoku University and is Rei’s student in the forensics psychology course, along with his brother Griffith. Unlike his brother, Leo is the wild one. He’s eccentric, and far more forward than his brother. He was born in America but raised in England with his mother when his parents divorced. Leo loves to tease his younger brother but often finds himself receiving the tail end of his game later in the evening at their apartment. Mido is a bit of a know-it-all and acts like his jokes are the most hilarious things he hears all day. He’s a dork and a bit of an airhead as well. Mido works at the same crime agency as Rei and is also involved in both the Doctor’s case and the Copycat killer’s case as Rei’s assistant forensic scene investigator. He often jokes and teases Rei during the work day, he may even harbor some innocent feelings towards Rei that are never noticed. A law professor at Teikoku university who is often seen hanging over Jun. Daichi is a married man with three young children. He is considered to be a gruff and cold professor, though he’s nice to Jun and goes out drinking with him every other week. Kii Age: Approximately 3 years old Owner: Rei Given to Rei by Jun. She's an indoor cat and spends most of her time sleeping and waiting for Rei to come home from his busy schedule. ----------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- 1st Degree is a boy's love game in development by Parival, a recently created visual novel development team focused on boy's love visual novels. We're currently seeking a few voice actors. The game will feature 4 routes- Aiden, Jun, Minami, and the twins Griffith and Leo- but, Rei will eventually kill off at least 3 characters. Choose who will live, who will die, and who will end up with Rei! Director's Notes Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for your interest in our game. The goal of this game is mostly to bring awareness to some very dark and sensitive topics that many high school students face today. Of course, there are so many issues that our youth struggles with, so we only tackle a few of the bigger topics that are sometimes swept under the rug (like bullying, sexual assault, gender crisis). This may offend some people, but overall, I hope to bring light on these topics. There are so many very. real. problems that people around us continue to deal with. I would like to dedicate this to those who struggled, are struggling, and will struggle with these things.
  5. Memory Trees RPG Life+Farming Game the game will be quite big. 6. Hi there! I'm developing my first ever visual novel called The Cold Case of Noella Bejerot. It's a detective story about a girl named Grace Sinclair who gets kicked out of high school, kicked out of her house, and wanders the streets in search of a home. Things start to look up when she gets offered a job as a detective! The only problem is... how can a girl who faints at the sight of blood solve murder cases? If that sounds interesting, feel free to look at exclusive sneak peak into the actual writing of the game here: https://thecoldcaseofnoellabejerot.wordpress.com/2017/09/27/short-excerpt That's a pretty basic of the synopsis I have on the story. Here's a more detailed version of the story here: Grace Sinclair is a less than stellar student. In fact, she’s flunked out of her high school at 20 years old! That’s not even the worst of her problems. Her dad kicks her out, and now starving and homeless, our hero bravely steals a snack from the convenience store on the other side of town. Just then, a masked man comes in! He holds up the store, waving a gun around and demands for all the money in the register or there’ll be consequences. The police show up and out of luck, Grace is able to help them find out the identity of the robber. The head detective, Delilah Araceli, is so impressed she offers Grace a job. Feeling that this may be her chance to make a true difference in the world, she accepts the job! The only problem is, Grace does NOT have good reasoning skills and on top of that has a condition where she faints at the sight of blood! As you progress through the story, it’s up to Grace to solve cases from homicide to domestic abuse to the legends of the mysterious and murderous serial killer known only as “The Banshee”. All while she’s hiding her secret from her quirky co-workers, who I remind you are DETECTIVES, before she ends up back on the street! She’ll have to solve her hardest case yet when she faces, The Cold Case of Noella Bejerot. You'll meet some interesting characters that I will be posting about next week on my wordpress. I post a blog every Wednesday. Next Wednesday, is the start of character spotlights, so you won't want to miss it! Please feel free to check it out here: https://thecoldcaseofnoellabejerot.wordpress.com For more real time updates on the development of the game, I post them here: https://twitter.com/CCNBdev I would love to here feedback on your thoughts about the story! Our demo will be released late November/early December!
  7. OMEGA PATTERN The content of this post is available both in English and Spanish on http://www.patronomega.com GAMEPLAY Omega Pattern is a Visual Novel which offers a variable multiple-choice decision system. This means that both the number of decision points and the number of choices or options that you will find in those decision points may vary according to your previous decisions during the game. TEASER SYNOPSIS The world where the Omega Pattern story happens is seemingly normal, similar to the one we live in. However, genetics and fate mean that a few individuals are born with a kind of Pattern or special brain signal which lets them develop unique and varied psychic skills that are determined by their life experiences, which form their behavior and character. From the shadows, an organization known as Bioagora controls the world according to its own interests thanks to the power and influences that they get, in part, from their Agents. These Agents are people who own the Pattern and have been coerced, bought, forced and even captured against their will to be brainwashed and indoctrinated, so they can faithfully serve the Bioagora. Shaiel (21 years old), a man who possesses the Pattern, has found himself forced to live in secrecy in order to avoid falling into the hands of the Bioagora. However, as time passes, it gets more difficult to escape from a power which is increasing exponentially. Seeking for allies has become an unavoidable, and it seems that the only alternative available are the Celtas; a small and poorly organized group with unorthodox methods, whose plan to face the Agents and restoring an order different to the Bioagora’s seems near impossible. As the rest of the population stay impassive in a gray world, Shaiel will have Shaiel to play his cards right and find out the truth hidden by the Bioagora, the Celtas and himself. FEATURES Become the Main Character: Decide what to do in the most relevant moments of Shaiel’s past. This will determine his current personality and therefore his psychic abilities and the decisions that you will be able to take in the future. 3 Story Lines: Access to 3 significantly different story lines, which means that you will have a high replay experience where you will find suspense, action, drama, comedy, horror and romance. +6 Hours: The variable multiple-choice decision system that we have implemented for the first part of the visual novel can grant you up to 6 hours of gameplay or more. Mobile Optimized: You will enjoy the same experience both in the Desktop (PC and Mac), Mobile and iPad versions. Full HD: 2048×1536 resolution for iPad users and 1920×1080 for Desktop and Mobile users. Manga Anime Style: 100% original illustrated material. Original Sound Track: An OST that creates the perfect atmosphere in every situation. 8. (full video trailer coming soon) Download the free demo and delve straight into the adventure...! Kickstarter: Coming Soon! Capital punishment hasn't occurred in the United Kingdom since 1964, but, on the 15th March 2019, a colossal domestic terrorist attack on the state's most prestigious law school leaves the criminal legal system in chaos. With thousands of deaths, survivor Storm Sente, a mere 20-year-old law student, finds himself called to the bar to fulfil his premature duty. But as the so-called People's Movement for the Revival of Capital Punishment grows into an ever-larger, ever-present threat, the bar is by no means a safe place to be. With even the long-standing local police corruption rearing its ugly head, there's more to fight against than the cases themselves as friends become almost indistinguishable from enemies – the very future of law and order hangs in the balance, from forces both inside and out. Join Storm and investigate crime scenes, defend clients in court, achieve justice for the innocent and – with a bit of luck – uncover the truth of the fateful terrorist attack and the sprawling cult behind it. Acquittal: Induction™, the first instalment in a planned series, was born from inspiration from Capcom's Ace Attorney series and is in many ways a homage. Alternating between the investigation of criminal cases at the crime scene and the defence of clients in heated courtroom trials, it inherits its basic mechanics from the classic visual novel series, while taking and running with those core concepts. The game draws more inspiration from both British courtroom dramas and real-life cases, also adapting the genre to a format more befitting the PC/Steam platform, featuring updated, stylish graphics and new Sherlockian game mechanics (such as Testimony Analysis, Brainstorming and Concatenation) in the way of divergent thinking. These new game modes allow for logic and puzzle-solving like never seen before, moving from pointing out simple contradictions in testimonies to deducing complex facts and theories in order to fight your case and uncover the truth. Featuring a distinctive style, innovative gameplay mechanics and an epic story with a colourful cast of characters to match, Acquittal: Induction is comprised of five episodes, each longer and more challenging than the last. The 1st of these (The First Daybreak) is available to be sampled in the demo. The subsequent episodes will be released incrementally (as free updates included in the purchase) as development completes with funding. This law-drama adventure game will be available for PC, Mac and Linux, to be released on Steam. The first episode of Acquittal: Induction has been completed, of which the entire first half is available for free to download as the demo. With further funding, the remaining four episodes will be completed in turn and released incrementally, as updates to the original game. Releasing episodes in this pseudo-agile way ensures security for the project, allowing players to be able to download and start playing content as soon as it's ready, rather than waiting a potentially painfully long time until the entirety of the game is completed. In addition, we'll be launching on Steam in order to get the game released on one of the best and most powerful distribution platforms around, supporting cloud save services, achievements, and much more! Though produced, developed, programmed and written by Procella Games, a great number of hugely talented people have already contributed to the various elements going into the game: Composers |Caleb Cuzner · Sherrick Wiegel Arranger |Ryuno VFX artist |Lazcht (Stellar-Ø) Sound designer |Clea Leshlick (Stellar-Ø) Character artist |Daphne Robinson Character animator |David Fuentes Background/incidental artists |Badriel · Julian Seifert GUI/logo designer |Juan Mojica Videographer |WhiteCharisma Prototype concept artist |Nicole Aniceto Prototype character artist |Karl Rillera Prototype background/animation artist |Alexis Rillera Prototype GUI designer |Angel Wareman Not to mention the wide range of voice talent: Storm Sente |Austin Lee Matthews Sebastian Donovan |David J. Dixon Lizzy Harrison |Kira Buckland Charlie Lawrence |Corey Holland Howard Silberling |Joshua Tomar Terri Wonder |Kristyn Mass The graphical interfaces and sound design for the entire game have already been fully completed. The original soundtrack has been fully composed (available physically as a reward tier...!), while the tracks for the first episode have been fully mastered - funding will also complete mastering for the rest. Here's a sample of the orchestral/electronic soundtrack as composed by Caleb Cuzner/Sherrick Wiegel and arranged by Ryuno. Acquittal: Induction's sleek GUI was designed by Juan Mojica, allowing for streamlined organisation of collected evidence and personnel profiles, with the dynamic screen animations and stylish divergent thinking interfaces being designed by Lazcht of Stellar-Ø. As such, the majority of funding for the remainder of the game will go into producing more of the vibrant character designs and animations and stunning backgrounds. The backgrounds for the courtroom were designed based on real British Crown Courts, expertly brought to life by Badriel, with the colourful cast of characters vividly designed and realised by Daphne Robinson and fluently animated by David Fuentes. - - - - - I've always been interested in English criminal law, and have toyed around with the idea of bringing the magnificent British courtroom dramas into a collaboration with one of my favourite game series, Ace Attorney. I hope fans of Phoenix Wright, Britain, criminal law, visual novels and PC gaming can all come together and hopefully enjoy this exciting project! Please do check out the demo, share your feedback and comments, follow us on social media and help share with others! In particular, liking us on Facebook and/or following us on Twitter is by far the best way to stay up-to-date with all the incoming news.
  9. Hello everyone and uh... nice to meet you! My name is Atlas, or in person i'm known as Austen. I've been mulling around with a Virtual Novel idea for about a year now and not done much with it (Besides one year you'll hear). Now, saying that I must add that I did have a dev team about 6 months ago, but we disbanded. Moving on, we (mostly I but eh) finished up to the beta Prolouge, and of course i've revised it more than I can count haha. The main reason for this though is i'm continuing what I started, and looking for people to do this with. It's purely free so if you want to get paid and look for that kind of stuff then I guess this is the wrong place to look. Now before I get into more specific stuff let me re-iterate No one will be getting paid. Please don't ask for it. Now that I got that clear let's get into it. I'm just looking for maybe an artist, another writer as there's 4-5 routes, and a programmer. I'm being generous as this alone Will still take forever to make it good, but eh i'm not perfect. The game i've been referring to is called Starry Nights, and follows the main protaganist Tyler as he copes with a devastating car crash that kills his family and seriously injures him to the point where if he moves and or exercises to strongly or with to much force a piece of metal from the crash, that they couldn't get out from surgery due to it being to close to the heart, could sever a tension and cause him to bleed out and die. Whew that was a bit haha. All this is subject to change of course, but that's what I have as of right now. Cut me some slack i'm a one man team, and before it was three. Of you're interested just leave a comment and i'll reply within a day or two (givin nothing catastrophic happens) and I'll give you a shot. I mean really, you would have to be two for me to say no at this point. See you all later, and may you always be happy! Ciao~
  10. Now on Steam Greenlight! While working on Chronotopia, we’ve decided to make a brand new version of Ambre, one of our oldest visual novel. We got tremendous reviews of the original and we thought a complete overhaul would do the game justice: so, it will now include all new graphics, more languages (English, French and Japanese), as well as a more modern presentation (such as camera zooms or blinking animations). Vote for us on Greenlight so that we can publish the new version on Steam for free! That way, old readers and newcomers alike will be able to enjoy this heartbreaking story. As he is passing by a park, a depressed thirty years old named Tristan Mallory discovers a lost little girl. Touched, he decides to help by taking her in. But something is off about their relationship, very off. Will you be able to figure out their terrible secret? Ambre is a kinetic novel, thus you cannot choose the fate of the characters. However the story will take you on an emotional roller-coaster you won’t quite see coming. Even if things seem wrong, do not ever give up…or you’ll regret it.
  11. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUlDO2Y4A8Y&feature=youtu.be A gruesome murder interrupts an evening party at a secluded mansion and you are the prime suspect! Explore the mansion, search for clues, and interrogate the other guests as you strive to unmask the killer in this open-ended mystery. MMM is a visual novel adventure with an open-ended mystery that puts your deductive skills to the test. A murder occurs in a secluded manor, and if you can't find the killer in time, you just might take the blame for the crime yourself! Gather information and search the house for clues as you form your own conclusions about the evening's mysterious events. FEATURES Multiple Endings: Finding the true killer is ideal, of course, but maybe building a plausible case against one of the other characters is good enough to get you off the hook! Unique and Compelling Characters: Play as Miss Fortune, a delightfully caustic anti-heroine who has already been widowed nine times. But this time, she didn't do it (really!), and she'll have to solve the mystery herself to prove it! Immersive Story: Sharply written dialog full of choices ensures a thoroughly immersive narrative. Voice-acting: Each character is fully voiced, with over 1700 voiced lines throughout the game! Beautiful Visuals: Detailed, searchable backgrounds and slick visual effects like rain, fog and variable lighting enhance the aesthetic experience. Time runs Short: The incompetent police are on their way. Better solve the mystery before they arrive, lest they come to their own (wrong) conclusions. --- MMM is available for Windows, Mac & Linux in English, Spanish and Italian. Check it out on Steam | Itch.io We have a demo! Demo on Steam | Demo on Itch.io | Demo on IndieDB The game features full voice-acting throughout, and has some exploration elements as you gather evidence. At the end of the game, everyone gathers in the parlour, and you can accuse anyone of the crime. The tough part is making that accusation stick. It's taken almost 2 years to develop this game, and I think it's turned out pretty well. The script was written by my brother, and the art was done by a friend. The game was made in Unity, as we wanted to include some extra gameplay that wasn't possible in other visual novel engines. I actually wrote my own framework for it.
  12. Hey Fuwanovel forum folk! I'm Kevin, founder of a tiny independent game studio called Nuclear Fishin' Software, based in NYC. Over the past half year, we've been developing a new visual novel / SLG in Ren'Py. It's called Four Horsemen, and it's not like any other SLG you have played before. To fund development the rest of the way, we're launching a Kickstarter campaign very soon! Before we do that, though, we'd like to get some feedback from players who are familiar with VNs in general and Ren'Py games specifically. And where better than here? (edit 2) The game is out, and is available for purchase on itch.io! Thanks so much to everyone who supported us. Also, please vote for us on Steam Greenlight so we can get the game on Steam! (edit) Our Kickstarter is live!! Please back us if you like what you see. PROJECT INTRODUCTION Four Horsemen is an upcoming visual novel / SLG about immigrant lived experiences, with a touch of magical realism. You play as a group of four immigrants in their mid-teens, the Riders, who discover a long-forgotten, empty World War II-era machinegun bunker on the edge of town. They turn it into a secret clubhouse where they can hang out and do teenagery things like drink booze and play video games without adult supervision, and in doing so, they inadvertently create a new community. What this community does, and what it is for, is up to you. You'll spend much of the game gathering resources and building things to put in the clubhouse, and your choices of what you have the kids do and make will set the kids' priorities and consequently drive the storyline. What's not up to you is the world outside the clubhouse, which will slowly encroach on your burgeoning community. It will force the kids to come to terms with the politics that brought them to their new homeland, and the legacy they have inherited from their parents' country, a land they barely know. Political realities will also impede your ability to interact with NPCs and gather resources. Unlike other SLGs, you can't just stat-grind, buy, and bribe your way to a Good End--institutional racism will harry your production, forcing you to think outside the box and negotiate, borrow, improvise, and steal what you need. (Non-spoiler: What you build doesn't matter nearly as much as how you build it.) The big twist is that virtually everything in the game--the nature of the tragedy that brought these children to foreign shores, what the kids' values are, what language they swear in, what arcs are and aren't available, what the price of a wooden table leg is--all these things are determined by which fictional country the kids are from, and which fictional country they live in. You get to pick which country the kids are from on your first playthrough. On every playthrough after that, the game picks for you. The result will be an SLG with unprecedented replayability. On your second play, you might notice that choices that helped you win the first time around are missing, or that NPCs respond differently to different dialogue options. Resources that were easy to get before might now be hard, characters who were crucial the first time around have been replaced with new, different characters (forcing you to play an entirely different arc), and so on. Like real immigrant teenagers, you will have to figure out each new culture on your own, and constantly make decisions about whether you want to conform to it or stick by your own principles and work against it. This forces you to use real social skills to guide your decisions, rather than just telling NPCs what they want to hear or what sounds like it would produce the best reward. FEATURES Gorgeous art by the immensely talented comics artists Iasmin Omar Ata and Olga Andreyeva Stunning soundtrack by professional game audio designer Alyssa Menes and a variety of very talented independent bands, inspired by punk rock and its conceptual descendants (including postrock, riot grrl, and antifolk). Possibly the most complex treatment of immigration and racism ever to be explored in a video game--half a year of research, interviews, and difficult real-life conversations with immigrants from dozens of different real-life cultures ensure this won't just be a simple morality tale about how people from ethnic majorities should be nice to people from ethnic minorities. Repatriation! Assimilationist paternalism! Shifting historical identities! Historical complicity! Identity in exile! Inspired by both real-life twentieth century history and recent events, this game takes an international worldview, and does not shy away from difficult or uncomfortable questions. (Not in demo) Unique structure: Play through the whole game in a weekend, every weekend, for months; different every time. Meta-motivation tracking: choices are balanced to gently troll players who follow SLG genre conventions instead of their hearts. Lots of animations and other little surprises to keep things interesting. Deliberately broken economy loop -- use your heart and your wits to obtain what you can't get from the item shop! (Not in demo) No wish fulfillment--you can start a romantic relationship between any two PCs, but beware, teenage romantic relationships are just as transient and awkward as they are in real life. Tense, exciting microaggression system (instead of combat), with fancy Phoenix Wright-like animations. Empathy is your only weapon! (That, and your fists.) CHARACTER ARCHETYPES Though you'll play as a different set of four characters each playthrough, they always conform to the same four archetypes, each one inspired by a different Horseman of the Apocalypse from Christian-Islamic eschatological tradition. This reflects the uncanny feeling, common among travelers and schoolteachers, of meeting the same people over and over, with small but significant variations--amplified by the cultural forces of globalization, which draw teenagers of particular temperaments to the same clothes, music, and hobbies all over the world. The protagonists of Four Horsemen are not literal personifications of their religious namesakes, but as war, death, famine, and pestilence are intimately tied to the human experience of immigration, the central conflict of each character is defined by one of these concepts in a way that is meant to resonate with the experiences of people who have experienced them in reality. WAR The leader of the Riders and the only first-generation immigrant of the group, War's haunted eyes and tough demeanor belie the playfulness of a girl who struggles to balance between growing up too soon and catching up too late on her lost childhood. Her future taken from her at an early age, War lives in the moment, burying a deep, implacable sadness in sports and drinking and video games. Her considerable leadership skills, overdeveloped sense of responsibility, and deep fascination with ancient history are overlooked by her teachers at school, who write her off as a ditzy tomboy partybro. Though quick to anger, and extremely protective of her younger sister Death, she is surprisingly slow to violence, due to her early experiences with bloodshed. When she does pick fights, though, watch out! Mercy is not a concept she understands. Because she's the only Rider who remembers the old country, the other Riders see her as a sort of wise-woman figure, a role for which she is woefully unprepared. She spends a lot of time worrying about who she really is. War's storylines deal with themes of personal identity, security, armed conflict, heritage, and nation-building. DEATH A free spirit and incorrigible smartass who talks the same way IRL as she does on the Internet, Death couldn't care less about politics or identity. Death lives for one thing and one thing only: to make something even cooler than the last thing she made. She has a gift for electrical engineering, but talent doesn't necessarily equal competence--at her early age, she's still kind of figuring out how everything works, and sometimes everything, well, doesn't. Everyone but her thinks her talent is going to make her rich and famous someday, a perception against which she constantly struggles. A few early, horrifying years in a refugee camp made her keenly aware that she's never going to have the same opportunities as other kids her age, and she often has to balance her pathological fear of missing out with her obsession with catching up. These experiences, and the toxicity of online communities, bestow on her both an acerbic wit and an unbearable loneliness. Death's storylines deal with themes of lived experience, erasure, self-determination, industry, and the meaning of labor. FAMINE A wide-eyed, impressionable, easily impressed little dude, Famine has it pretty good compared to War and Death--he's a naturalized citizen who grew up in his new country, speaks with the local accent, and could almost pass for a native if given the chance. But this "almost" is what torments him: he's the only child of a single dad, he's an unremarkable student, he's just a little too awkward to be well liked at school, and there's always just barely not enough money to get by without cutting corners. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Famine doesn't believe the deck is stacked against him. A better world is always within reach! He believes that with a little gumption and a lot of hard work, anything is possible! ("Anything" includes winning the affections of Death, who he has a massive crush on, and who, of course, will not give him the time of day.) Famine wears a French maid costume when he dusts the clubhouse because it is a practical outfit for dusting. Shut up. You would too, if he wasn't the only one who ever bothered to dust this fucking sty. You slacker. He is best bros with Pestilence and looks up to him immensely, which is a little mysterious since Pestilence has no ambition. They like weed. Famine's storylines deal with themes of opportunity, entrepreneurship, gender roles, equality, respectability, and institutional privilege. PESTILENCE Pestilence is an enigma wrapped in a shroud of pot smoke. The son of two unremarkable, well-off parents from the old country, Pestilence has spent his entire life in his new homeland, and is widely reviled. His family was part of the community that welcomed War and Death out of a refugee camp in their early childhood, and the sisters consider him a family friend. Everyone else, except for Famine, seems to distrust him--his teachers insist he's trouble, though he rarely makes any; the police hassle him at every opportunity; taxi drivers and social workers are struck by a sudden and terrible deja vu. Pestilence is accustomed to this reaction and takes it in stride. He is very friendly and sees himself as a sort of Mister Rogers figure, preaching simple, occasionally grim aphorisms from doctor's office brochures. Naturally, Famine thinks he's the chillest person ever, and they are best bros. Though he generally comes off as a carefree gentle giant, Pestilence has strong convictions and will passively resist anyone who stands against them. It is rumored that when the immigration bureau sent his parents the eighth late notice for his resident alien registration, Pestilence mailed them a drawing of a smiling cockroach flying a UFO. Pestilence's storylines deal with themes of religion, conquest, demography, social justice, and the spread of ideas. WHO WE ARE Nuclear Fishin' Software is based in Brooklyn, New York, and our core creative team consists of: Kevin Chen (writing, programming, direction, design) -- that's me! Iasmin Omar Ata (character design, CG illustration) Olga Andreyeva (background and item illustration) Alyssa Menes (music and sfx) We are professionals with years of game industry experience, we are all immigrants, and we love SLGs--so being able to work on a game about a subject so close to our hearts is a real treat! PROGRESS So, while development on the Kickstarter playable WIP demo continues apace, we made a pre-Kickstarter preview build just for Fuwanovel, Lemmasoft, and some other VN forums. What's already done as of demo preview build v0.400: All the PC expressions and the vast majority of the NPCs as well Country system - play as characters from any of 10 different countries, with significant and far-reaching effects on dialogue and the choices available to you Economy loop and rewards - we won't spoil anything here, but this includes a lot of surprises One main route, complete except for the ending, which we have intentionally omitted (we wouldn't want to spoil anything before the final release!). We plan to do at least two more for the final release, perhaps more depending on funding Three minor routes, one of them fully complete, the rest nearly complete. There are also stubs for several others Microaggression system, in two different play modes, including an endboss An absurdly sophisticated profanity system - characters codeswitch naturally and swear in their native languages Dynamic BGM system - in addition to some incredible tracks across several different genres from our talented musician friends, each of the main characters has its own instrumental motif. Waaaaay more than we can list -- most of the game's systems are complete! What's not done yet: New Game+ - all the ingame integration is in place, though since we only have one main route so far, we can't show you the depth of our New Game+ system just yet Replay is going to be more meaningful and varied once we have fully implemented the New Game+ system UI - we plan to do a massive overhaul if we're funded Day phase world map - we're working on making this even prettier and more intuitive, stay tuned! Tons more content - we plan to add at least two more main routes at the very least, each with unique NPCs A bunch of the higher tier items don't do what they're supposed to yet If we're funded, we'll keep iterating on the game's systems incrementally, improving playfeel and UI messaging, making the animations cooler, and generally making everything prettier, more polished, and more fun to play We welcome any feedback you might have--especially if there's anything that might be a major dealbreaker in a decision about whether or not you'd buy the game. With their lives connected as one, the only way to survive is by withstanding heaven and hell together. "This messed up world consists of those who fall and those who thrive off of the fallen. Whatever you choose, you'll be one of the two." Since the dawn of man, Ascendants have been seen soaring in the skies. To the humans, they are ethereal, divine and immortal beings; guardians of earth and protectors of humankind. But even among the Ascendants, there are those who have Fallen. Areon is an Ascendant who hunts the creatures born from sin; the Fallen. Together with his partner Eden, he purges the world little by little. Everything goes effortlessly until Areon is asked to participate in the Divinity project; a project to rehabilitate Fallen. Only the best Ascendants are chosen due to the dangers. During the project, a Divinity Link will be formed between the two until one Ascends, or one Falls. At the selection, the beautiful Ark caught his attention. A Fallen that had been caught three weeks ago, but never approached due to her insanely corrupted personality. Areon, undaunted by her ferocity, forms a link with Ark. However, he did not realize that his powers will be irrelevant. What will be challenged are his wits, resolve, and mental fortitude. What awaits him is a bigger task than he could have ever imagined. 14. Genre:Adventure, Investigative, Management, and psychological Visual Novel Platforms:PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 Languages:English (Fully Voiced), English (Text) Visual Style: DreamWorks style graphics mixed with dark and mythological themes. Progress:~20% of the game completed. (20 hour game) Estimated release:~Summer 2017 “Whether friend or tyrant, I will become a King!" Welcome to the Rift, a dimensional tear located in Canaan where the ancient gods were created and where you must prove your worthiness to lead the world of men. You have allies and the training needed to fight, but nothing will prepare you for the wonders and horrors of the unstable plains in the Rift. Manage Respect, Relationships, and Mental will when making decisions. Assigning team members to missions best suited for them. Discovering weaknesses to epic enemies through investigations. Collecting real world lore and in game lore by discovering hidden items. Unlocking secrets of the past by collecting memory gems. Making timed decisions and avoiding damage in high intensity situations. Leveling up your characters to specialize in unique skills. Time In the game, everything will cost time to complete and characters may be away, unable to do a task available. Time is managed by the player and he has 6 months to prepare to face Nun. Special events will happen at certain times such as full moon cycles, changing of season, etc. This will give the player a level of management that makes them feel immersed. Leveling Each character has core stats which helps them succeed in feats. Completing certain missions and training will gain you very limited talent points to specialize your character in lore friendly ways. Respect You are a leader. You must earn the respect of your soldiers! Decisions you make and the success of those decisions will affect the confidence your allies have in you. If you fail a lot, they will lose confidence and go rogue during critical decisions. You may even lose command. A true Pharaoh never loses command… Kinship While how successful you are in decision making and your sense in the field affects the way they see you, it does not help one bit on how they think of you as a person. In order to get on their good side, you must appeal to their innate personalities. One cannot please everyone so make your choices wisely. It is worth noting that Kinship affects how allies act when not around you or when not commanded. Stability You are the strongest. Unfortunately, you are also the most flawed… You have an issue with Dementia and you must suppress these voices throughout your time in the Rift. The tradeoff is considerable though because when you were young, and you let the voices run wild, you could do things others could only dream of. In these dark days, will you allow your mind to slip in order to wield more power or will you avoid such pleasures and rely on knowledge of self? The rift has stood for thousands of years, since the day Nun arrived from the planet Nibiru. Located in the barren lands of Canaan, this void was created to keep the outside world uncontaminated while Nun worked on his creations. He spent centuries studying the humans and when he figured out this world, he created ancients similar to the life found on his home planet. They warred with each other inside the Rift until only 3 families remained. When they left the Rift, Nun used a stability gem to alter reality and hide the incomprehensible damage done. But now, thousands of years since the great sundering, Nun has created another race of beings to combat his creations from ions past. In order for them to prove themselves, they must survive the Rift, as it were during the time of the ancients. Stability is no more! Can the mortals survive the Trials of the Rift? There are many different types of quests in Black Sands. We will briefly go through some of them to better understand the gameplay mechanics involved in each. In Black Sands, time, health, and deployment all work against you as you stride to prepare yourself for the final battle with Nun. Scouting - designed to seek new quests exclusively. Minimal danger Investigation - A quest that requires discipline and perception. Player must decipher material and decide what is important and not. Proper investigation rewards secrets. Tracking - This is an extremely heavy skill check category that requires quick decision making and a little luck. These missions are available only once before they go back into the quest pool. Social - This is a quest where you develop relationships with the other characters and learn more about them. Instant Events - Automatically happen when certain criteria are met. May have nothing to do with prior tasks. Group Events - The entire group must participate. Nun will go over your notes and inspect your facility whenever this happens. Epic Events - Storyline Events that are either triggered by actions or chose by the player. These tend to have more decision making then other events. Exploration - A quest designed to explore unknown locations. These quests have no prior knowledge so player must use their wits to move forward. The farther you get, the better the rewards. These missions can be ended at any time but there is no guarantee you can return. This game is directly inspired by Dragon Age and Telltale. Their strong narratives and crucial game changing decisions inspired me to design a visual novel unlike any before it. Additional motivation was found in the way Hollywood depicts middle eastern and Saharan people. We do a lot of research and use annotations in game to teach the actual history behind the fantasy of our world. Future We will be converting all sprites to Live2d and making them look a bit more realistic and 20x more brutal. The goal is to make this like Conan while having the art leveling of pixar, dreamworks. How can I help? Follow us on facebook, Cosplay our characters, Share the hell out of this, and Pay homage to the gods by buying some of our merchandise. Don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter and remember, Nun sees all. We have these posters and more. You can support us while getting something tangible that will uplift both you and your families. Thank you so much for patiently waiting, and we sincerely hope you'll enjoy the game! The beta demo is a testament to what we've been doing these past couple of months, and we're proud of how much the game has evolved since its alpha phase. This is more or less how the final game is going to look/feel like, and covers the same scenes as alpha. Except for that, every element from the first demo was changed. Beta is now feature complete, but we're continuously enhancing every aspect of the game in preparation for the full release. Please take note that not everything you'll see in this demo is final. After you finish playing the game, please answer this short survey we've prepared. We value your feedback, so please don't hesitate to tell us what you think! We'll use the data gathered to further improve the game. And as a token of our appreciation, all survey respondents will receive a special wallpaper! Questions about this new demo: 1. Do you like it? Hate it? 2. What do you think of the characters currently presented? Do you have someone you like in particular? 3. What do you think of the art style? 4. How do you find the writing style compared to the alpha demo? 5. Any other suggestions, comments, critiques? Thanks so much for your time!
  16. Click Here to Play in Browser -> http://stonepug.com/trauma-suburbs-vignette/ SYNOPSIS: A young girl decides that she can no longer accept her circumstances. What follows is at once cynical, absurd, and, eventually, tragically uplifting. Click Here to Play in Browser -> http://stonepug.com/trauma-suburbs-vignette/ We are proud to announce that, in our continued effort to make our VigNettes better, we have added voice acting to this short piece. We highly recommend audio for the best experience. We suggest using Chrome or Firefox. It works best on Desktop but will function well enough on mobile. Don't worry, content is Safe For Work. WARNING music will play on load (there is a mute option). Play time: 5 - 10 minutes A VigNette - or short Visual Novel - is a browser based short Visual Novel that we release once a month at Stonepug Studios. Maybe it would be more aptly called a short Novelette, or VigNovelette, but that just doesn't seem as clean... Our normal release schedule for new VigNettes is the first Friday of each month, however, since the first Friday isn't until April 7th this month we decided to give our readership a little something extra to get through those long lonely nights. To check out our past VigNette's head over to http://stonepug.com/ -> Previous VigNettes. Once again we extend a hearty thank you to all of you who have taken the time to read our incoherent ranting and rambling, you are the best kind of enablers. Oh, and don't worry - Aurora will be featured in another VigNette on our regularly scheduled release date Friday April 7th as well. So stay tuned for that!

  18. Website (Intro and download) Hello, TC Kain+ is an evolved form of my previous WIP VN called TC Kain which has a thread here. The reason for "plus" is that the game now runs in Unity3D and I've added space battle mini games to it. This VN is a little different from others. It has no element of anime. It is not about relationships. It is about war and politics as well as life and death based on a sci-fi world I've created. I've built this world based on year 9599 and wrote extensive lore to enrich the world. The title is Two Clusters Kain arc plus or, in short, TC Kain+. Story There are four main characters. Two are immediately introduced. Two others are introduced much later. Kain and Suu who are introduced at the beginning take most screentime. Kain hails from a humble beginning. As an ex-journalist working for a magazine company on Moon, he joins Sol navy just to get away from his financial hardships casued by severe recession. His goal, initially, is simply to feed himself. But he soons finds himself heavily engulfed in war, politics, and women. Suu hails from a strong family. She has powerful parent and background. Having deep respect, almost to a point of being overly zealous, toward his father, she volunteers to join Sol navy to aid her father in achieving his dream. However, she soon finds that the world outside of sheltered life isn't what she thought it'd be. Third character, Juron, is introduced in chapter 6. Forth, and final, character, Magenta is introduced in chapter 8. This VN portrays their lives. Few ingame screenshots Art This VN uses exclusively CG (Computer Grahpics). I use Blender. However, due to large amount of cast, I also use stock CG assets that I purchased. You can generally tell the different on the screen from stock assets and mine unfortunately. Over time, I hope to replace them with my own. But modelling clothes, humanoid figures, and such take a loooong time. Therefore, not all characters are made in Blender and some are from stock assets. VN and its arts are inseparable. Though, in my case, it's CG art. For an example, on a screne. Before render After a quick, simple, test render Full render before being fed into GIMP for post processing Tactical mini space battle A major improvement from my previous TC Kain is an addition of mini space battles. This is the reason I decided to import my VN to Unity. There is a test battle feature where you can just try the mini game. There will be more test battles added in the future. From chapter 8 and onward, there will be story related space battles. Thank you
  19. Alpha's Adventures is now live on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1847704475/alphas-adventures-an-adult-yuri-visual-novel Please check it out and help spread the word/consider supporting it if you can! Synopsis Follow Alpha as she changes herself and others across 4 unique routes. The setup differs from most visual novels in that there is no common route - you simply pick the heroine of your choice from a selection screen and enjoy their self-contained story. Completing all of the heroine's endings allows you to unlock Alpha's and ??? shared route. Project overview I plan to launch a kickstarter so that I can finish (and if stretch goals are met, extend) this project. I'm aiming for an early January 2017 launch date, which is also when I will release the demo I am currently working on. The demo will cover a portion of each heroine's route. Links Out http://officeryou.tumblr.com/ https://twitter.com/officer_you Information -3 heroine routes -3 choices per heroine route -Each heroine has 2 endings -1 unlockable character/route for completing every ending -10+ CG's -For 18+ only (will contain scenes of an intimate nature and themes some may find distressing) Main Character Heroines Side characters (stretch goal exclusive) ??? CG Previews With all of that said and done, I welcome any and all feedback and questions! *Except the kind of questions that invite spoilers, of course.
  20. DOWNLOAD FREE FROM: TRAILER Did someone ask for: * 90 unique-ish endings? * 30 profound-ish life lessons to learn? * Sock puppet humor and violence galore? The Story of Socks Serena "This isn’t even the worst place I’ve been locked in. * sigh * We don’t think about that, Serena." What would you do if you were trapped somewhere for a long time? Put A Sock In It! dares ask the question: How far would you go to entertain yourself? With all her coworkers gone for the weekend, no way of contacting the outside world, and no hint of rescue in sight, Serena will discover that maybe, just maybe, her best friend is actually herself. And these puppets she just made from her socks... You play the game by selecting each pair of characters, for a total of four combinations: Princess x Wizard, Ghost x Stable Boy, Wizard x Ghost, and Stable Boy x Princess. Each pairing gives you control of the situation and relationship from one of the characters' point of view. For example, in the Princess x Wizard pairing, the Wizard has abducted her and you play as the Princess, guiding the story with her reactions -- do you hate him, or could this be love? Princess Hobbies: Being happy, exploring, upkeep of castles, keeping tabs on neighboring princes. Dislikes: Stuffy high society, imprisonment. Wizard Hobbies: Being powerful, subjugation, kidnapping, stealing, hexing, destroying enemies, summoning magical creatures. Dislikes: Disobedience, paying for things. Ghost Hobbies: Being spooky and mysterious, haunting, revenge. Dislikes: Traitors, killers. Stable Boy Hobbies: Spending time with animals, pitchforking things, dreaming of princesses. Dislikes: Non-vegetarians, the dark past. Summary Having locked herself in a stairwell, Serena is quickly beginning to run out of distractions. Thankfully, she has two colorful socks and a penchant for amusing herself. So, to pass the time she will weave short, humorous skits based on your selections between characters of your choice, with storylines ranging from romantic melodrama between princess and stable boy to violent quarrels with an evil wizard. This game features one setting (Magic Kingdom) with four characters (Princess, Ghost, Evil Wizard, Stable Boy), altogether coming in at a little over 20, 000 words with all the variations. * The game has sock puppet violence, and some suggestively risqué dialogue on the odd occasion. 21. Hey guys! This is a new OEVN by Neat Studios. They've already been fully funded and are reaching their stretch goals. Pitch - Cat girls have gained their independence but you alone have the power to conquer their heart. A secret only you know and a power only you possess. Is a cat girl themed visual novel with a good storyline and gameplay something you want? Well boy do we have a story for you! Summary - It's been 25 years since the nekos were freed, but things are no better now than they were years ago. Most live in slums and some resort back to selling their bodies or doing domestic work. Now with rumors of a conspiracy arising to send them back to slavery, a charismatic, charming, influential, likable, intelligent, and compassionate man is tasked and given the power to help hide the Nekos that poses as students in his school and help close the racial divide in society. Unfortunately however...you got it instead... Genre - Romantic Comedy/Mystery/Ecchi Gameplay - The players will play as Yutei Nagamichi, an angsty, stubborn, and hilarious smart-ass who has to collect clues to help him befriend and earn the trust of his peers and the Nekos in his school in order to convince them to join the Neko Club. Yutei must get them to join before they are captured by Detective Kowayama. The players will be given uneasy choices to choose from to try and achieve this goal. The players will face several obstacles. First and foremost is that the cat girls he has to help start off as very irritating and provocative, which might make the players want to choose certain options like witty comebacks instead of more friendly and submissive choices. Second is that on occasions, Detective Kowayama will interrupt the flow of the story with plot twists in an attempt to put the main character on edge. A third obstacle in this game is the main character himself. If he suppresses his emotions too much, Yutei will begin to detonate and his rash emotions will definitely hurt his chances of befriending the Nekos. In short, it's a balancing act between making friends and being true to himself. The players should pay very special attention to what the characters in the game are saying and piece together the clues to evoke the right reactions. This takes some social skills which Yutei does not have. When provoked, Yutei will start to unravel the dialogue choices the players have made and naturally self sabotage his own goals due to anger and impulsiveness. 22. Current Progress We're Currently planning to launch our Greenlight Campaign on the 18th - January 2014: 4pm PST (Will update later with the link) and we're aiming to have the game finished off within the next month. Synopsis In a world where spirit creatures are known to visit the human world, an unusual and cheerful plant spirit by the name of Rose has come to make her home among this world. Join Rose as she stumbles her way through her new job at a small indie game studio, while still trying to comprehend the differences of human customs. Her reasons for leaving the spirit realm are unclear, however suspicion rises when another spirit arrives with an ill warning and the intent of hunting down Rose. What mess has she gotten herself into and what secrets could this cute and playful spirit possibly be hiding? You're the only one with a chance to uncover this mystery in this cute and amusing game... Because... you're a human... she won't suspect you. About Project Casually Rose is a story that follows the events of our Company Mascot Rose as she came to be in our employ. It is a comical game that dances on the edge of mystery as a strange girl from an unknown world turns up on the door step of the game studio. We set out to create this game after being approached by numerous fans that had started to see the artworks arise from the concepts of Rose. They were quite vocally passionate in expressing their wishes to see Rose be more than just a mascot, they wanted to see her in the games we make. So we took a break from our major project and set out on the Journey of breathing life into Rose and the world that she inhabits. It didn't take long to fall in love with this project, from the moment we saw Rose smile to when she spoke her first words, we knew that this game was something that needed to be shared with the world. Trailers Characters ROSE Age: 21 Birthday: 9th October Height: 167cm Measurements: 92/54/80 Rose is a plant spirit who found herself lost in the human world and latched on to the first humans she encountered. Consequently that is how she came to be employed as the mascot at a Game Studio, coincidentally named Rose Covenant. She is quite clumsy and is often getting into trouble EMBER Age: 18 Birthday: 7th May Height: 152cm Measurements: 78/52/75 Ember is a Flame Spirit who came to the human world to hunt down Rose. Not much is known about her reasons or motives, just that she is very determined and won't stop until she has succeeded. She can be quite short tempered at times, a trait that isn't too uncommon among her kind. BOSS LADY Age: 23 Birthday: 2nd November Height: 170cm Measurements: 85/54/78 She is the CEO of the game studio, she found Rose and gave her a home. She gets stressed easy and can sometimes be short with Rose, but she does care for Rose's wellbeing and wants to help her find her place in this world. Features Responsive Character Animation: Using Esoteric's 2D animation software (Spine), Casually Rose utilizes real time character animations that provide a rich emotional and immersive experience for the player. Light & Engaging Story: The story of Casually Rose follows the main character Rose through her arrival in a new world and the challenges she faces trying to fit in. The story flirts with a light and playful tone while still harbouring a deep and intriguing tale deep under the surface. 2.5D Background Environments: Adding to the immersiveness of the character animations, Casually Rose supports a number of scenes with an almost 3D like quality and makes use of this to add a whole extra level of depth to the visual novel genre. Dialog Rewind: Knowing how easy it is to accidently skip through a piece of dialog, Casually Rose adds in support to backtrack through previous dialogs, so you can re-experience it without requiring a save point. Enhanced Dialog System: After analyzing normal speech patterns, Casually Rose implemented a system to simulate these patterns in the text to provide a richer experience for the player. Sample Images
  23. I've been working hard on this visual novel for the past 3 years, and I was hoping to find some people to read over the rough draft. Please tell me about spelling errors, grammar errors, plot holes, I want to know everything. If you think a line should be written better, or even if you have an idea for a scene that should be added, please tell me. If you help me make the visual novel better, by finding mistakes or adding suggesting, I will add your name to the credits. I'm mainly concerned about plot holes and making sure the entire story makes sense to everyone. I would strongly like to note that this rough draft does NOT contain the character development episodes, which aren't required for understanding the characters or the story, but they do help you understand the characters a little bit more. I have them done, but I want to re-write them to make them better. Inside the folder you may notice a TXT document labeled, EXTRA INFO. It contains information and questions on the things that happened in the story that are not explained. I plan on adding this to the visual novel later as an unlockable "Ask Rika" mode. Please don't read it until after you read the visual novel, it contains spoilers. Summary: Devil Corp is holding a set of sexy tournaments to show off their newest armor, REN. When equipped, a user can spawn weapons, change clothes, and even defy death itself. But not everyone in the universe is happy with Devil Corp’s newest product. Highvote, a nation with an extreme democracy, has voted to end everyone’s fun. To make things worse, Nicole is going berserk, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to stop her. Could she have found a glitch in the armor’s programming, or could there be something bigger going on? Either way, the REN users aren’t just going to sit around and have their freedom taken away without a fight. Word Count: 65,000~ This visual novel is rated +16 Please do not read this visual novel if you are under the age of 16. This visual novel contains - Blood and Gore - Censored Nipples - Intense Violence - Mature Humor - Partial Nudity - Sexual Violence - Strong Language - Strong Sexual Comedy - Use of Alcohol Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ukj76bqdni5uu7s/MW-MAINVN_ROUGHDRAFT-1.1-all.zip For more information please check out the Moe Wars game blog: http://moewars.com/blog/ Also you can easily get in contact with me on the Moe Wars forum: http://moewars.icyboards.net/ or by visiting our Discord channel. I know that it may take some people a few months to read it since it's a very long story. It would mean a lot to me if you simply posted if you plan on reading it, so I don't have to look at an empty thread for 3 months in depression wondering if anyone is actually reading it or not. 24. Hello everyone! I thought I'd post here about the project I am currently working on: Echoes of the Fey - Episode 0: The Immolation We're currently in Steam Greenlight! ABOUT WOODSY STUDIO I (Jenny Gibbons) run Woodsy Studio along with Malcolm Pierce, and this will be our fifth released visual novel. You can find more info about our previous games on our website, which include Serafina's Saga, Serafina's Crown, Quantum Conscience, and Echoes of the Fey: Episode 1. Although we're usually the sole developers of our projects, we hire out for voice acting in our games, and we occasionally recruit other people such as artists and sound designers to help us out. INTRODUCTION TO EPISODE 0: THE IMMOLATION "Echoes of the Fey" is a visual novel series following a flawed but forcefully optimistic heroine, Sofya Rykov, trapped amidst the conflict between Humans and Leshin (elves). For thirty years, the continent of Oraz has been wracked by the great war between its peoples. The East is ruled by the kingdom of the Humans, divided up into counties and family houses. Beyond the great forest of the west is the Leshin, undying men and women with a strong connection to the Fey, capable of powerful magic. Humans cannot wield Fey magic on their own, but they know how to channel it into machines called Fey reactors and manipulate it for their purposes. Deeply offended by this use of Fey energy, the Leshin have been fighting for decades to disarm Humans of their Fey reactor technology. "Echoes of the Fey: Episode 0 - The Immolation" is a short prequel to "Echoes of the Fey: Episode 1 - The Fox's Trail," already released. It reveals the origin of Sofya's strange abilities and how she came to meet Heremon. Although Episode 1 is a commercial project, Episode 0 will be released for FREE upon completion. DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS Currently the project is about 75% done, and the remaining 25% primarily consists of UI touch-ups, bug fixing, and adding features. The script is written, VA is complete, *most* artwork is finished, most of the code foundation is in place, and almost all the scenes have been coded in. This is the first visual novel we've made in Unreal Engine 4, so it has been an interesting adventure so far! Naturally, it was difficult getting started setting up our own visual novel engine within UE4, but now that we've got the hang of it, we're really loving the engine altogether. We've actually had a lot fewer problems so far than we experienced with Game Maker, our previous engine. Before that we used Ren'Py, which is still a fantastic engine for people who don't need to add complex elements to their VN beyond normal branching and dialogue. We've been sitting in Greenlight for awhile, but we're hoping we can get Greenlit by the time we're finished with the game, so we can release it free onto Steam as soon as possible! I'll try to update here as we progress. In the meantime, you can check out Episode 1 of the series, currently discounted for Steam's winter sale!
