  1. So I want a better understanding of mercurius characters so if anyone can explain what his role and what he does and how he does it please do share it with me and we can discuss about it.
  2. Disclaimer: I am not personally involved in this project. I am just posting this progress update to inform the masses and get the project the acknowledgement and recognition it deserves, since this project has been flying under the radar for such a long time. The Translation phase of the Ciel Nosurge Offline fan translation patch project is now finally 100% complete (as of last week)! Sooooo if you guys haven't known by now, there has been a fan translation project underway for Ciel Nosurge Offline during the past several years, with significant progress on it being made during 2020-2021. For context, Ciel Nosurge takes place in the same universe as the Ar tonelico series but is not considered a sequel to it since it takes place way before the events of the series. Though Ciel Nosurge ended up not being officially released in the West, however, for some reason, its sequel, Ar Nosurge, did. I am aware of Surge Concerto DX, which released in Japan earlier this year, though unfortunately, I have little to no confidence we will get any Western localizations of it so this is probably the best bet for playing a fully translated version of Ciel Nosurge. Anyway, I am hopeful we can get the patch release within the next year if not in the next few months, depending on how the editing and testing phases progresses. So I was trying to extract the files from the game directory for this game - https://vndb.org/v19083 But when I extract the files from the circled ones, the texts that come up are garbled nonsense. I tried to switch to different encoding but the results remained the same. First of all I went into the game directory and extracted the contents of this file - Then I selected the CODE file to open thinking it will have the coding part - But all it showed was this blasphemy - Then I changed the encoding several times but the results were more or less the same - Does anyone have any idea, how can I hack the script for this game?   5. Hello all, I hope you all are doing alright. As by the title of this post, I am translating all three (KAG3, TJS2, and Kirikiri) sets documentation from Japanese to English. I personally prefer krkr (kirikiri) over Ren'py for a multitude of reasons; however, this post isn't about discussing that. Currently the method of translating I use is essentially utilizing Google Translate, DeepL, and even an AI (proud to say that I figured how to do so myself :D), and choosing the translation I feel to be more "natural", and as a last resort, ask someone else for the translation. So as you can imagine, this method is very much monotonous and very easy to demotivate myself from continuing this project, alongside the fact that halfway I realized the documentation I'm working on is the wrong and obsolete version of the krkr engine (called krkr2) instead of the newer krkrz, so that's a pain :') . And let's not mention the things currently going through in my real life as of now, so.. yeah. So if some of you guys volunteer on providing human translations, corrections, or even give me support for me to continue on this project, I would REALLY appreciate it. Thank you for reading! Since I'm playing around with this game right now, and remembered this boob growth mechanics, according to VNDB there's an upper limit however there's one character's max size is still unknown (Megumino Sakon). I've found a few pics on a Chinese forum and they have publish some data on it, the maximum they get is to add 65.15mm to the bust size ,is there any cheat tools to bypass the tedious effort of playing with RNG?   8. Yes, finally a Muv-Luv game is going to have suits with nipples again. The original JP version had nipples in the suits of women, it was removed from the Steam release. Whatever you find stupid or not the fact these suits shows nipples in women I just want to restore the content as should be. Muv-Luv Unlimited TDA had a port to a new engine, and thanks to that with the tool "Special K" I was able to extract and inject back the images/assets without touching the game's files directly, so I decided to personally add back the original sprites and CG from the JP version. Only TDA 00 and 01 was censored (sprites and a few CGs), while 02 and 03 didn't had censorship because the nipples were removed in JP launch (basically it can't be considered censorship, or maybe it's auto censorship but it's debatable). Considering that, I'm wondering if adding the sprites to 02 and 03 just for the sake of consistency; the problem is the new characters starting from 02, I haven't played enough so I can't tell. If you're wondering about original trilogy and fandisk, sadly the tool crash with these games. Can I edit the font?... Nope, the tool detect words as unique images, it doesn't detect any font. The tool is known to be incompatible with some programs, but generally works without problem. BTW, at the end of the TDA 00 there's a sprite of certain character that I wasn't able to extract, for some reason the tool doesn't detect it, everything is fine, I guess. If you get an overlay/message when starting, it means that the patch is working. If you get a crash + followed by a Metal Gear Solid alert, it means there's a program incompatible with the tool that prevents the tool from booting, it can be Rivasturner or an overlay. I can help people with KiriKiri 1/2/Z to remove repacking TPM protection and make it every time one .xp3 files is edited it can still read it with no problems at all and can even convert KiriKiri 1/2 games into KiriKiri Z Engine because KiriKiri Z now allows UTF-8 files and can read it with no problems. If they had any problem with the game not working in some scenarios they can contact me here or discord xOnlyFadi#7805 to fix their problem with KiriKiri Z.
  11. I am creating my own Visual Novel, but I am wondering - what kind of art style should I peak. My love for anime and manga is out of the roof, but I am not sure if i want to create a game in its style. I was planning more of a semi-realistic approach...What do you think?
  12. I'm currently using ren'py. I don't know if this is possible with this engine, but bear with me. The closest comparison to what I want to do that I can think of is the gameplay of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. In FHA, after you go through the prologue and whatnot, you have basically the option to go to different locations at different times of the day to get a piece of the story, which will then unlock different scenes that you can choose later on. Its different from "the consequences of choices", like most visual novels. I figured since my visual novel has a lot of moving parts that will require different character perspectives, something like this is more suitable than the traditional guided story path that implements choices as a gameplay mechanic primarily. I also saw something about ren'py possibly supporting other engines that it can work with, but idk if I'm misunderstanding it. If you understand what I'm talking about, it would be a great help if you could lead me in the direction in how to implement it.
  13. So I just started coding my visual novel's script in Renpy. I don't know if I would have to use another software to do what I'm about to ask about... So what I want to know is, instead of the dialogue and narration being shown on the bottom of screen, can I make it closer to say, Fate/ Stay Night's, where the dialogue and narration covers the entire screen over a low-opacity black square. Maybe something like that isn't as appealing nowadays and it is a bit of a nitpick, but I figured I'd ask now before jumping too far into this project. Btw I am new here and nice to meet everyone
  14. Hi guys, I am working on the Spanish translation of psp OREIMO, I am currently fine with the scripts and story images, but I am stuck in one part. It turns out that I cannot find the location of the scripts / images where the "Ore list" is located, since it is not in the same location of the "RES.dat" where everything else mentioned is, if someone could guide me I would appreciate it.

Hello everyone, I've spent a fair amount of time trying to come up with a good story idea for a visual novel and was wondering if I could get some opinions on a pretty high-level description of my idea. This story would be a sci-fi/mystery visual novel that in its beginning stages, would follow five short character stories, which would be used as a means of introducing each of these individual characters. in these stories, each character is in their senior year and are trying to decide on a college to go to. basically, after their introduction, this university, which I have yet to come up with a name for, would use varying methods to try and influence these 5 students to attend the university. Be it through scholarships, a good athletic program, or a good program for their major, all five of these students are convinced to attend this university. mind you, the person who they are corresponding with is willing to give/say anything in order to convince these five characters to attend. I would release these 5 stories in a sort of episodic format as I completed them. As for the UI, It would have huge significance to the story. basically, the UI would have a sort of futuristic but slightly buggy/distorted look to it. On the bottom of the screen would be five generic silhouettes that would represent each of the five characters. Periodically, I would change the text on the screen to things like "Searching for candidate," etc. Upon completion of one of these stories, I would change the status to "Candidate located" and at that point, the generic silhouette would be replaced by the actual character's silhouette, and the story would become playable. upon completing the character's story, their silhouette would be replaced with their actual character sprite, and the status would change to "Candidate acquired" for a short time before returning to "Searching for candidate." Along with this, files on this futuristic desktop would be unlocked, and become viewable. These files would contain various different images, documents, and sound files, that would both be a means of world-building, and would also give away some juicy details of the overarching story. Once all five of these stories are completed, I would set to work on writing the final, long story. In which, all five characters, along with one new, very significant character, of which you play from the perspective of, would meet at this University. This final story would be pretty relaxed, until the characters start noticing odd things about the university, and slowly builds up until they try to get to the bottom of whats going on. Essentially, for the mystery aspect, what I have at this point is that the MC of the final game was the son of an esteemed inventor. this inventor's life goal was to create the first truly sentient artificial intelligence capable of feeling emotion and thinking for itself. He passed away before he was ever able to completely achieve his goal. However, he did manage to create the most advanced AI to date. before his death, he told this AI to do whatever was necessary, short of letting anyone come to harm, to create the first truly sentient AI. this gave the inventor a little bit of comfort prior to his passing, as he thought if this AI he created could do it, in a small way, he would have achieved his goal. Upon the inventors passing, the AI began formulating a plan to achieve its inventor's goal. the AI's plan was to attempt to get five people together in the correct environment, where they would have adequate funding and resources to create this first sentient AI. (you see where I'm going with this ). The AI essentially builds a university around itself via the use of robotic, humanoid puppets to found the university, and do all the things it could not, being stuck in place and all. money was no object as the inventor was very successful in many other endeavors and left it all to the AI. the AI then began searching for the best candidates. A few random ideas as well I thought I'd mention: I have an idea for the climax of this final story in which the characters finally find the truth, and find the AI. upon entering the inventor's workshop and finding the AI, the player would immediately notice that on the central screen would be an exact replica of the UI of the game. thus telling them that the answer was in front of their face the whole time. I've also considered a plot thread in which the humanoid puppets that the AI controls sort of have a will of their own, and desire to be truly sentient. Upon completing the game one final set of files would become unlocked. showing the POV of one of the humanoid puppet AI's being created. their body would be in disrepair of course as they would still be in the process of being built. many other projects of the inventors would be visible. the AI would look around before finally focusing on another, humanoid AI, this one in far worse shape. The player would recognize it as the character that led all five of the other characters to the university. however, this AI is not being controlled by the inventor's AI and is acting of its own volition. I've thought about using them as a villain for a future game. Thank you for reading my story idea. any feedback or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated!
  24. Finally we have HatsuKoi append patch finished here, and it mean that the time for Hoshiori project to begin has come. For the premise itself, we have the MC whose an improvement version of HatsuKoi's Yuuma, and more importantly the MC in question (Ryousuke) was come back to his hometown after seven years had been away from it. Other than Ryousuke himself is the improvement from Yuuma, tone work was also starting their trademark in this VN in which the trademark is their long writing in regard of the development, so obviously we'll gonna have a lot of lines (Around 200,000 lines). Also it's important to note that star will be the major theme in one of the route considering that we have 'Hoshi' in the title (That one route only will be obviously better than the whole localized Miagete, because it'll be uncensored lol), and the whole theme of Hoshiori is the dream for the future (Yume Mirai part) in which it'll depict the characters going forward to their future. Anyway, I'd been looking forward to this and obviously I'll be waiting until the route order announced at Tsurezure later. So feel free to discuss about the project here, although I'll mostly use this thread for reporting the progress though.
  25. Hello all. As of right now I'm in the process of creating a fan translation patch for Clover Day's! I've run into a bit of an issue though as I'm new to the translating gig. So here's what I have. I can read and write japanese just fine, so there's no issue there. However, extracting the text to replace with the english alphabet is becoming a problem. Clover day's files consist of .xp3's primarily. I've used Garbro to extract a scenario file which I believe should hold the actual text. Opening this with notepad++ reveals a wall of (what appears to be) encrypted or compressed text. SO I gave up on using Garbro and went along to try out krkrextractor. Then I followed the intstructions of making sure the krkr exe and dll file are in the game directory, however the krkr main menu doesn't open. SO, in the end I'm back to square one. I can't extract anything to edit and repack. Any advice? *also tried xp3tools but dear christ cmd absolutely hates me.... invalid syntax and unaccessible folders for days....
