  1. Hello! I'm here again to represent the original work of my team. We called ourselves The Wrecking Crew. Previously we've created a meme card battle visual novel called Dark Lords Don't Give A . Now, our current ongoing project is called CloudNovel Breakdown. Before we start, you need to know that The Wrecking Crew is basically a gathering of CloudNovel developers who want to have fun by trolling players. Kinda like a stress-reliever break from our actual, serious project. So yeah, from times to times, we gathered together and do a small project like this. A HEAVY WARNING: Do not play our game if you're depressed, stressed or anticipating a serious game. STORY Play as the main character (customizable name), a noob developer in an engine CloudNovel. As she is about to publish her first visual novel, a bug occurred! Now, she is responsible to go on the journey, entering the visual novels' worlds one by one to find a magic button that will reset the server as well as fixing all the bugs. Story Origin Actually, the story is inspired by the actual incident that happens in CloudNovel. At that time, the users of CloudNovel was growing in numbers so we had to move to a new server to accommodate those numbers. However, after we moved, something went wrong with the server where the site would slow down abruptly and sometimes just inaccessible. Thus, while we're waiting for the server company to fix this problem, the only temporary solution to solve this was by asking the site owner, Sonya to press the reset button. SO here comes the actual, real and unofficial description of the game. You create a game, you publish it, a bug happens. Called site owner, wait for the bugs to be fixed, but oh shoot! Your bugs are contagious! You are forced to enter the visual novel world to find that magic button in the hope it will fix the engine. NOTE: Due to your contagious bug, the visual novel worlds you entered would have bugs too. Anyway, we hope you a safe journey. FEATURES: We worked with several artists/developers/writers to do this. Each of them will make their own visual novel inside the game. So we will have different styles of art and for non-artist developers cum writers, they will be using a free art material. So in other words, features we'll be having are: FREE! Different art style from different artists (including unfinished art) or free-to-use art Different genres of story (all-in-one VN) Bugs, many bugs Sometimes, MC would transmigrate to a different body in certain worlds, so MC can also be male sometimes. MAIN CHARACTER is a female character who is eager to try out a visual novel engine and somehow she ended up making a bug while she's trying to publish her first visual novel. Take the role of a fledgling Idol student in a story filled to the brim with ear-grabbing melodies, soul-binding friendships and eye-catching boys that will set your heart on full-time "doki-doki" mode! A hybrid Yaoi Visual Novel and Role Playing Game, players control the protagonist (default name: Yuuki Nekota) as he attends the prestigious Andromeda Academy, a school for male Idols. Upon arriving, he realizes that the Academy uses virtual simulation technology known as the I-DUEL System to manage and evaluate their students. The I-DUEL Battle is a core aspect in this System, where two or more Idols duke it out on a simulated stage with the intent of "knocking out" the competition. To climb the ladder to stardom, the protagonist must use his time wisely to attend classes, train each of the eight unique Idol Stats and win as many I-DUEL Battles as possible, using clothing and accessories known as I-Décors to get ahead! The end goal is to emerge victorious in the Academy's year-end musical festival of stars, the Dream Idol Coronation (DIC)! However, there's more to school than studying to be the very best! The main character can form friendships, rivalries and even romances with their schoolmates! There are twelve major characters that can be dated, each with their own unique personalities, principles and plot progression to follow! These same people can also be partnered up on I-DUEL Battles, forming parties known as Idol Units! One such Idol Unit is MYTH4, with their current titles as Crown Princes, having won the previous year's DIC. A member of this Unit even has a connection to our protagonist - the Unit leader Sora Torao, who once helped him out from a bind and inspired him to take the arduous path of an Idol! Even with his days busy with classes, clubs and cultivating closeness with his companions, the protagonist also struggles with a unique power only bestowed to him - the Copycat. Though an Idol possesses an I-Bility - a special yet exclusive skill that can trigger in I-DUEL Battles - the main character has the rare and mysterious gift of learning and using more than one. Why did the I-DUEL System grant this peculiar but incredible power to him? What kind of legacy will you lead him to? His fate splits into many roads, which one is the right path to take? After being encouraged by Sora Torao two years prior and given a special I-Décor, he finally attends Andromeda Academy as a first year student. However, he knew next to nothing about the I-DUEL System and would have definitely failed his admission audition, if not for the timely awakening of his unique Copycat power. Energetic and positive to a fault, he is extremely nice and sociable to the point of being annoying, but people find his cheerful smile and earnest heart difficult to hate. Though usually good-natured and open-minded, he is also equipped with some biting sarcasm when dealing with unreasonable situations. He greatly idolizes Sora and gets easily excited when his beloved senpai gives him attention. Ranked as the number one Idol of the entire school, MYTH4's leader Sora Torao is a celebrity to most but an enigma to those closest to him. Moving to his own rhythm, he is a bit air-headed and slightly ditzy, but does a complete hundred-eighty degrees turn when performing. Unusually for a top Idol and a Crown Prince, Sora lazes around without a care in the world. Straightforward and perpetually smiling, though he seemed to no longer see the Idol industry as the shining beacon of the future he once preached to an underclassman in his times of trouble. Sora is a Cute-and-Cool-Type Idol and uses the I-Dominion "Tiger's Gaze" in I-DUEL Battles. But we plan to release one as soon as possible. Will the game go through Kickstarter? That's the plan once a demo had been sorted out. Will there be explicit sex scenes? How about rape, sex toys and bondage? Yes, there will probably be 18+ scenes, but they can be skipped. It would always be with consent and sex toys and bondage will not be included in the "base" game, to make sure we don't alienate anyone. Still, it's up for debate. Is the main character an exclusive top or exclusive bottom? Neither. Even though his last name might give you ideas (*winks*), our MC's position depends on his partner. So yes, there will be times where he is the top and a few more where he bottoms. Will there be more BL-related puns? The futuristic metropolis also just happens to also be populated with cyborgs, old gods hidden in the depths of a criminal underground, and humans eager to crawl their way to the top, no matter what the cost. After a fertility crisis changed the landscape of the city for good, a single company stepped in to help the residents: Life S. Incorporated, a biotech firm that claimed to be able to build life out of raw DNA, creating a fully formed human with thoughts, feelings, and morality of their own. Their minds, physical appearance, and personality would be drawn from their parents’ DNA, but the children would be ‘born’ using artificial bodies. This new generation would be called the S.Humans: a non-aging, tough form of new life. Love Shore is a visual novel game that takes concepts we've always loved in sci-fi, action, and horror and blends them together to create something wild. It features a queer, diverse cast, a seemingly endless city, and a story of coming into yourself and doing what you think is right…with a heavy dose of drama and violence mixed in for good measure. Love Shore features two playable protagonists with four romanceable options, each with their own storylines. The cast is entirely LGBT+. The game’s projected features will include 12 chapters, 24 possible endings, 60 CGs, 25 unique locations, and an original soundtrack. Follow one of two protagonists, Farah or Sam, as you investigate the city's criminal underbelly, and help your companions on their quests for redemption, love, and power. Love Shore has a cast of vastly different individuals, from S.Humans to Gods. Each person is unique in their motivations and in the way they interact with the world, and with you. Be careful to choose your friends and lovers wisely. Protagonists Love Shore is a vast and intricate city, and you’re going to need some local help to find out what’s going on. Each of your companions have different strengths, weaknesses, and connections that can either help or hinder you. Your companions can be your love interests, or you can just pursue true bromance: the choice is yours. All companions in Love Shore have an approval rating for Sam or Farah, based on their interactions with them, and these ratings can unlock new dialogue and different paths! If you want to check out all the companions, check out our Kickstarter! THE TEAM The beautiful sprites featured in Love Shore (as well as all the CGs) are done by Kabo. They are the lead character designer with a deep love for fashion and neon. (Hence, perfect for Love Shore). Zi is the amazing individual behind all the environments you see in game! She is an illustrator and concept artist who loves doing promotional work inspired by film. And that beautiful menu you see above? That’s by our UI Designer Sonja, who contributes a retro-sleek and professional look to the game. Besides being a huge memer, they have worked on a variety of design projects and games, both personal and professional. Son M. and Emmett are the co-writers of Love Shore, who additionally moonlight as producers for the game. Jason is a freelance programmer, and founder of indie gamedev studio Stray Basilisk. He's a dedicated sci-fi nerd, and card-carrying Philip K Dick and Stanislaw Lem fanboy. Jason joined the team to help bring Perfect Garbage's creative vision for Love Shore into reality. Jayson is the musical brains behind our soundtrack. He is an independent artist, musician who makes his own music and has worked on sound design for a handful of projects. Our theme song (the one that plays during the credits/menu) was composed and produced by 1X4X44R exclusively for Love Shore. If you like the sound, check out their other music! We are trying to reach $50,000 on Kickstarter! It's a steep goal, I know, but to pay for the art fairly, the music and programming, it's the smallest amount we could ask! For years the rapacious legions of Raskya killed and looted their way across the land, seeking glory and the addition of new territory to their empire in the south. A traitorous Raskyan general has seized the city and plans to use it and its population as his shield to draw his rival into a final battle against him. Lacking in any sense of direction or maybe even sense at all, the young Hyur often finds herself lost or caught up in relatively outlandish situations. She joins the gardening club as a means of returning a favor after being saved by Persha from, what she figured, was certain death. Anglea: Anglea, the interim student council president has the unenviable task of ensuring the gardening club is following all of the school rules and regulations for club conduct. She is seemingly good at everything she attempts, having stellar grades and being shockingly athletic. However, despite her outwardly strict attitude, it would seem that Anglea might be slightly more mischievous than first believed. Sujih: A no-nonsense member of quite a few school sports teams, Sujih finds herself getting wrapped up increasingly in the gardening club's escapades throughout the school.   11. Hi, I'm posting on the behalf of team Amaranthine. We are a small indie team of game design students from Scandinavia and we are making a VN/game, Ever End. The game is about two sisters born with psychic powers trying to escape a militarized research organization. Our goal is to make Ever End exciting, stylish and, to some degree, thought-provoking -- exploring existential themes of meaning and purpose. Gameplay The gameplay in Ever End is separated into two types: story and battles sections. The game alternates between the two as the story progresses. Although the two are separate, they function in symbiosis and are dependent on each other. Story sections let the player enjoy the story through the “edgelord” protagonist, End’s eyes. Now and then you’ll get to affect the story by choosing End’s words or actions. Critical confrontations in the story play out as action combat encounters. Here, timing and reacting appropriately with your attacks and dodges is the key to victory. Throughout both systems, End must balance her psyche between her orderly human side and chaotic psychic side to avoid losing herself. Every battle and every choice will drift her towards one side or the other. The state of End’s psyche will then affect both her abilities in battles as well as critical moments in the story. Note: The early alpha is a bare-bones version of these systems and doesn’t include stuff related to the psyche management among other things. Progress Last summer we released our early alpha on itch.io, so you can check that out here if you are interested. The MC defeating one of the bosses with a flashy finisher move. We are currently working on the first chapter of Ever End and have all in all 8 chapters planned. They will each be around the same length as the alpha and are going to be added for free to the base game as they release. All this work is just for the first ingame day. I will release every month a new day in similar lengh. I played a lot of other Visual Novels.   23. Development Blog Hello! I'm one of the writers and founding members of a small indie VN team currently composed of transgender and non-binary devs dubbed Jockstrap Penguin Studios. We've recently begun development of our first visual novel, entitled Candyfloss, which is centered around the lives of several trans and non-binary teenagers living in central Florida. Notes: Ten (10) "romancable" characters Multiple routes and endings No adult content/NSFW planned Written, illustrated, and programmed entirely by trans and NB individuals The main cast has been fleshed out and writing for the main route is underway, though we've decided to hold off on releasing the characters' bios in full until the appropriate concept art is finished; our sprite artist has already produced a number of preliminary sketches and is in the process of digitizing them.   24. We are a team of two people with virtually no budget, and one day we decided to make a videogame. Visual novels seemed like the most suitable option back then: they are not particularly hard to programm and allow a decent story. By now we have most of our story layed out and are building scenes with sketch art. Its going to be a short, choose-your-own-adventure kind of story, somewhat ironical in tone with crude and dark humor, set in a low fantasy world full of cynical assholes. Its mosltly inspired by The Witcher and the original Thief games, with some influence from criminal thriller movies. What I am concerned about, though, is selling the game once it is made. Sure, it has anthropomorphic characters which is probably a plus, but it's entirely un-erotic and un-romantic, characters are designed to be quirky and often outright ugly, and the art style is quite un-anime. We simply have now idea how and where we can advertise such a game once we have cool stuff to show. As an example of my art, I'd love to show some pages from a webcomic I abandoned a while ago. Story The allegiance of the 5 big kingdoms over the past century, Ashwell Kingdom located at the center and being the biggest and most influential, Thamor Kingdom in the west who boasts of military excellence and revolutionary weapons created, Loseon Kingdom in the north known for their rich agriculture and reign over the mountainous regions, Maicheven Kingdom in the east known for increased trades and mastery in the craft of aerial weapons and transportation such as aeroplanes, and lastly the Richmond Kingdom, a seaside kingdom and the last to join the allegiance with a relatively recent lineage, has made the country of Eclaria successful in almost all aspects, outgrowing the others found within its vicinity. However, despite the harmonious relationships of these kingdoms, a notorious phantom thief lurks around the whole country with a hidden identity, stealing the most revered artifacts, leaving no kingdom free from his hands. Gems, chests, crowns and scepters from the past generations, he leaves none of the precious artifacts behind. No one knows particularly why the phantom thief commits such crimes, as the stolen artifacts are nowhere to be seen. Recently, the phantom thief has sent a message for Ashwell Kingdom, declaring his plans of stealing a prized possession that they treasure. While Ashwell is governed by matriarchy, Rose D'elaphontaine Ashwell, only child of the Ashwell family and next in line to the throne, seizes the opportunity to catch the infamous phantom thief and put a stop to his crimes, therefore deeming herself worthy of serving the kingdom in the eyes of her constituents as well as the Queen herself. For the past century, the Ashwells have governed their kingdom this way, with the Queen Regent as the Head of the Kingdom and the King as her General. However, Rose is clueless as to who and what the real phantom thief is capable of, and in her case, what she doesn't know can truly harm her. As Rose gets closer to the truth, she comes to experience baffling emotions and these foreign feelings cause a stir inside of her. She comes across two dashing men with a recognizable social status and one who has always stood by her side. Because of the phantom thief, her life takes a major 180-degree turn, changing the princess who only knew of proper courtesy, political talks and marriage solely out of convenience. Becoming the successor of the Knightley family is not an easy childhood to go by. He did have acquaintances, but no one to call his friends. With the Knightley's influence and power all over the kingdom, they have close ties with the royal family. Although he is aware that marrying the princess will be the easiest way to get his dream, he knows better than to do so with his pure efforts and unparalleled skill. Oliver Richmond Oliver is the second child in the family, leaving him the slightest pressure to begin with and the freedom to do his hobbies and travel most of the time. Though contained and trained to a certain formality, he looks up to his big brother and treats his little sister very carefully. He remembers his sister whenever he is with Rose, as according to him, she resembles his dear sister.
