  1. Team Beyond has started developing its Fading Sky pilot project! Fading Sky is a visual novel storytelling game. This is a tragic and sad story set in a fantasy world after a global magical catastrophe. We were inspired by a series of games like Fate (Fate/stay night, Fate/Zero), Science Adventure (Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head), and of course Utawarerumono. GAMEPLAY The main features of the Fading Sky gameplay: - narration in the style of a visual novel with full voice acting (in English and Russian). - two main characters, the player's choice. - non-linear story with a choice. - the ability to influence the fate of two worlds at once. - Thoughtful and detailed dark fantasy setting. - study of the history of the world and characters. - torn pages of the book "The myths of Arret" describing the history of the world of Arret, which can be found in the most unexpected places in the game world. - more than 10 story endings. - eroge-element for PC versions of the game as a separate patch. GRAPHIC ARTS Fading Sky is a 2.5D RPG with fully animated scenes and characters. FullHD native resolution (1920 x 1080). A team of talented artists is working on this. PLOT AND CHARACTERS Fading Sky will tell you a tragic tale of the last moments of Arret's world. A story about those who will witness this, together with whom you will learn the history of the rise and fall of this once beautiful world. The tension of our story will strike from the very beginning of the narrative and will increase as the reason for which three of our contemporaries ended up in this dying world is clarified. In an attempt to understand what is happening, they will somehow close the last chapter of this mysterious story. LORE Inspired by various fantasy stories and a little bit of Celtic mythology, we created our own universe, which we called Fading Dimension or simply FD. This is elaborate lore, at many the era before the events of this game. We hope that Fading Sky will become just a small island in the Sea of Void of our history and a starting point for the implementation of all our ideas. We are also working on a card game in the FD universe rewound several eras before the start of the disaster. TECHNICAL PART The game is being developed on the studio's own engine FadingEngine, which is built on C++, OpenGL, and FMOD technologies, which allows the project to be ported to almost any of the well-known gaming platforms, from Windows/Linux to iOS/Android and even PS/XBOX. AS AN INTRODUCTION TO STORY History turns into legends, legends into myths, myths into fairy tales that are quickly forgotten. Perhaps once the world was different, lived according to different laws and unspoken rules, carried other creatures and other plants on its body. Served as a book for thousands of forgotten but massive stories. One of these stories has not yet received a full ending. Although its beginning has long been forgotten, the trace still stretches from the depths of eras and grows with a heavy echo with each shift of hands of the world clock. The beginning of the story has long been forgotten... but its end is near, and it will touch the three inhabitants of the city of Bristol, which is located somewhere in the British Isles. 2026, May 13th. From the very morning, it was raining, and the sky did not clear up that day again... NEAREST PLANS Soon, we plan to release a demo version of the game (Fading Sky: One dream before), which will become the zero chapter of the whole story, i.e. it will be a separate short backstory a few hours before the main plot of Fading Sky. We are also planning to release a trailer, where we are ready to show both an animated introduction to the game and some of the gameplay itself (where we will try to do without story spoilers). After that, we hope to launch the company on Kickstarter or Pathreon (we haven't decided exactly yet, but we already have interesting material rewards for our future bakers). We are glad that we have begun work on this project and sincerely hope that you will like it. Subscribe to us on social networks: www.facebook.com/groups/fadingskygame www.vk.com/fading_sky_game Follow us on Twitter: www.twitter.com/tea_beyond Leave your feedback - we welcome any opinion from our future audience, especially if it helps us expand our universe and, as a result, will interest you! See you soon in the spaces of FD! With you was a game designer and programmer, composer and screenwriter, and a little more the head and producer of the Fading Sky project German Espoir.
  2. We believe that video games are meant to push the boundaries, both technological and of the way we experience stories and beauty. We are passionate about every magical gem that comes from our fiery forge. The road from an idea to a final product requires patience and hard work but what an adventure it is! Hello everyone Most of our graphics are made on Procreate - our artist Michalina simply can't imagine working without this splendid tool. In previous articles, we wrote a bit about the process of creating graphics for our game (mostly backgrounds and renders), but today we will show you the process of creating cutscenes - it's not complicated, but the graphics must meet several requirements to be ready. Of course, the initial phase is to prepare a description of the graphics. After that our artist creates a concept. The goal is not to create an accurate frame, but just a simple graphic. We also want to see shadows and lights. Wonderfully we have it! But is it finished? Actually, it's the beginning of the fun After the initial concept is done, our artist gets some tips and she can create a comic book line art without shadows and lights. Another portion of tips and our artist again refines the frame. Looks much better, right? Great! The graphic looks good. The face expresses cold emotions, the room has taken shape. Ready! It's time to send the graphics to the next artist, who will color it. The artist sends us a frame with a question if the choice of colors is appropriate - we agree. Michalina starts improving the picture and sends us the final version. Finally, it's ready! We animate the frame and the final version is presented as below: We are very happy that we could show you the process of creating that frame. We believe that video games are meant to push the boundaries, both technological and of the way we experience stories and beauty. We are passionate about every magical gem that comes from our fiery forge. The road from an idea to final product requires patience and hard work but what an adventure it is!

  4. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1204 ... ories_Die/ How stories die Time travel, assassins and one demonic magical gangster bunny. Description: "The perfect story... I will do anything to create it" - ??? The kingdom of Alteria is under threat from the demon king. Luckily, there was a prophecy that when a certain child(called "The Hero of Fortune") will reach the age of 18, he will eat a golden fruit and gain enough powers to defeat the demon king and his army. One day, Prince Horace receives a letter from his father saying "The Hero of Fortune is now in the eastern market, escort him to the castle where he can eat the golden fruit". When Horace goes to the market he meets 3 different girls, each claiming to be the Hero of Fortune. Now Horace must look into the girls and determine who is the real Hero of Fortune, who are the impostors and what do they want. But his adventures won't end there... Features -Three unique routes with different atmospheres, each based on one of the classic RPG roles: The mage, the warrior and the rogue. -350,000 words (which roughly translates to 25 hours of gameplay based on what I read online). -Multiple route mystery! -About 12 endings + true ending. That doesn't count short bad endings, for instance deciding to have sex with the demon princess in an active volcano(which can happen in the story btw). Characters Nozomi Nozomi is a cheerful and energetic girl. She lived in the forest most of her life with her demonic magician gangster bunny mentor(there is an explanation for that), so she doesn't know a lot about civilized society and gets excited about every little thing(with a lot of funny misunderstandings). Nozomi has an endless supply of sexual jokes and has a talent to use them exactly in the worst time. She isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but she has a great affinity for magic.(magic is mainly used by demons) Riko Riko has a short fuse and quite a lot of ego. She won numerous gladiator championships before with her amazing agility. Her ego is quite fragile, and with her childish and stubborn attitude that's quite the explosive combo. She loves drinking and speaking high language. Riko's former family was a family of gladiators, but they disowned her for being too weak. Now Riko plans to beat her father in the finals and take revenge on him. She also possesses a drawing of Horace for some reason... Haruka Haruka is a shy and insecure girl. She is a genius that solves riddles in the blink of an eye and predicts what others will do based on cold logic. She lives in the slums of the Capital and is very physically weak. Although Haruka is insecure most of the time, when she faces an intellectual challenge she transforms into a strong woman with a lot of confidence. She holds some very strong political views regarding the royal family. Contrary to her innocent looks, she is an avid fan of torture. Horace CG3 Final.jpg (43.26 KiB) Viewed 1278 times Horace is the next king of Alteria and trains everyday to become a better king. He is a little spoiled, but he understands how big his responsibility is. He cares a lot about Alteria and will even risk his life to keep his kingdom safe. He is not a genius, but he finds some creative and crazy ideas to solve hard problems. He is a huge gladiator fan and an otaku. He is also quite handsome.(which does help him in some situations...) 5. This is a Chaos;Child-esque animation to "Delusion of Zero" - a short story to Chaos;Head written by SciADV scenario writer Hayashi Naotaka. Recounting the memories of 'Shogun', it serves as prequel to the events of Chaos;Head and sheds some more light on his intentions as well as his past in general: I plan on adapting the story in three parts, with part one and two (Black Sky and Blue Sky) being an introduction as well as the main part (Shogun's POV) respectively. The "introduction" is a slightly altered and truncated remake of the AA ending (Noah's "Blue Sky" ending), leading up to the point where Delusion of Zero starts off. The altered script is supposed to serve as more suitable exposition, as Delusion of Zero could be seen as sort of midquel. The first two parts I'll upload today, the remaining third part focusing on Rimi's epilogue I'll upload as soon as I find the time to finish it. ---------------- Previously there has been an in-game rendering done by a group around spiderfreak1011. If you liked my version, please consider to check out their one as well:

  8. TEASER TRAILER Hey! I'm Bee, an indie developer working on a game that I figured you guys would be interested in. This game started as what was to be a web comic, but later developed to fit into a visual novel style format. We're both students from Michigan hoping to pursue game development as a prospective career in the future. We're working on this project alongside a talented cast of voice actors to help make it a more immersive experience. Keizu is a visual novel style adventure about forest spirits, corrupt businesses, family heritage and a story of undying love. Some of the biggest inspirations for this title are game's like To The Moon and Phoenix Wright that feature unique adaptations of the classic VN genre. Keizu is inspired by the art direction and storytelling of the studio Ghibli films as well as that of other narratively driven adventure games such as Ori and The Blind Forest and Night In The Woods. The game has something for everyone featuring a story involving the main character Rowan's struggle to find her place in the world after a tragic accident leaves her fiance dead. When she feels hopeless and lost, the spirits of her ancestors help guide her back to finding herself. Rowan meets new friends, finds new hobbies and helps save the woods near her town from destruction in her journey to recovery. Keizu features full voice acting and a diverse cast of characters. Representation is an important factor in the game's development for us. I know some of you want to hear this so I'll just out and say it. It's gay Some features in the game include things like -Fishing -2D Side scrolling exploration segments featuring hand drawn art and tons of unique locations to see. -A diverse cast of characters and NPCs to meet as you venture through the town of Udosa. -Over 10 hours of content with more coming in DLC updates that will be free to Kickstarter backers upon the game's release. -A full length webcomic following the game's characters in their day to day lives in the same time span as the game's story to help broaden the game world. The game is in an early stage of development and should be fully completed by this time next year. When we started this project and up to now all development expenses have come out of pocket with myself working an extra job to help pay for it. Starting my Freshman year of college this upcoming fall semester, it's not realistic for us to continue doing this. To help aid the game's development, we're taking our game to kickstarter! If you'd like more info check out my studio's website at https://sdsvgame.com/ Our twitter page at https://twitter.com/sdsvgame Itch.io sdsvg.itch.io/keizu Don't miss the Kickstarter campaign's launch July 5th where limited edition merch and rewards will be available! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sdsvg/keizu-a-life-in-the-woods
  9. Hello everyone, I've spent a fair amount of time trying to come up with a good story idea for a visual novel and was wondering if I could get some opinions on a pretty high-level description of my idea. This story would be a sci-fi/mystery visual novel that in its beginning stages, would follow five short character stories, which would be used as a means of introducing each of these individual characters. in these stories, each character is in their senior year and are trying to decide on a college to go to. basically, after their introduction, this university, which I have yet to come up with a name for, would use varying methods to try and influence these 5 students to attend the university. Be it through scholarships, a good athletic program, or a good program for their major, all five of these students are convinced to attend this university. mind you, the person who they are corresponding with is willing to give/say anything in order to convince these five characters to attend. I would release these 5 stories in a sort of episodic format as I completed them. As for the UI, It would have huge significance to the story. basically, the UI would have a sort of futuristic but slightly buggy/distorted look to it. On the bottom of the screen would be five generic silhouettes that would represent each of the five characters. Periodically, I would change the text on the screen to things like "Searching for candidate," etc. Upon completion of one of these stories, I would change the status to "Candidate located" and at that point, the generic silhouette would be replaced by the actual character's silhouette, and the story would become playable. upon completing the character's story, their silhouette would be replaced with their actual character sprite, and the status would change to "Candidate acquired" for a short time before returning to "Searching for candidate." Along with this, files on this futuristic desktop would be unlocked, and become viewable. These files would contain various different images, documents, and sound files, that would both be a means of world-building, and would also give away some juicy details of the overarching story. Once all five of these stories are completed, I would set to work on writing the final, long story. In which, all five characters, along with one new, very significant character, of which you play from the perspective of, would meet at this University. This final story would be pretty relaxed, until the characters start noticing odd things about the university, and slowly builds up until they try to get to the bottom of whats going on. Essentially, for the mystery aspect, what I have at this point is that the MC of the final game was the son of an esteemed inventor. this inventor's life goal was to create the first truly sentient artificial intelligence capable of feeling emotion and thinking for itself. He passed away before he was ever able to completely achieve his goal. However, he did manage to create the most advanced AI to date. before his death, he told this AI to do whatever was necessary, short of letting anyone come to harm, to create the first truly sentient AI. this gave the inventor a little bit of comfort prior to his passing, as he thought if this AI he created could do it, in a small way, he would have achieved his goal. Upon the inventors passing, the AI began formulating a plan to achieve its inventor's goal. the AI's plan was to attempt to get five people together in the correct environment, where they would have adequate funding and resources to create this first sentient AI. (you see where I'm going with this ). The AI essentially builds a university around itself via the use of robotic, humanoid puppets to found the university, and do all the things it could not, being stuck in place and all. money was no object as the inventor was very successful in many other endeavors and left it all to the AI. the AI then began searching for the best candidates. A few random ideas as well I thought I'd mention: I have an idea for the climax of this final story in which the characters finally find the truth, and find the AI. upon entering the inventor's workshop and finding the AI, the player would immediately notice that on the central screen would be an exact replica of the UI of the game. thus telling them that the answer was in front of their face the whole time. I've also considered a plot thread in which the humanoid puppets that the AI controls sort of have a will of their own, and desire to be truly sentient. Upon completing the game one final set of files would become unlocked. showing the POV of one of the humanoid puppet AI's being created. their body would be in disrepair of course as they would still be in the process of being built. many other projects of the inventors would be visible. the AI would look around before finally focusing on another, humanoid AI, this one in far worse shape. The player would recognize it as the character that led all five of the other characters to the university. however, this AI is not being controlled by the inventor's AI and is acting of its own volition. I've thought about using them as a villain for a future game. Thank you for reading my story idea. any feedback or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated!

  13. Hi everyone! After 3 and a half years, a failed kickstarter campaign, and a recent steam ban (https://kotaku.com/visual-novel-sets-out-to-buck-trends-by-being-less-sexu-1840002895) we are finally launching the first entry of our ambitious Crime Opera series! See our itch.io page here: https://crimeoperastudios.itch.io/crime-opera-the-butterfly-effect Please know that all funds will go directly towards helping us create the sequel (which has already been completely written). It's bigger, longer, more intense, and takes place a full nine years later as our main cast reaches early adulthood! Please do not let the steam ban scare you away, as we are still pegging this at 14+.

Some of you may have seen our demo on websites like NewGrounds and GameJolt but we have a downloadable version for you to try that's a lot nicer looking. Teamed up with Sophie, you decide to investigate the mysterious happenings in the cafe, but it will prove to be a harder task when your carnal desires seem to distract you at every turn. Just what will you discover? Game Play The general story content can be played through in VN fashion, proceeding through chapters. At the moment, we are currently working on Chapter 2, a portion of which is available in our demo. During the work day, you assign tasks to your maids, earning you money which you will then be able to use in our shop system once it is in place. The shop will allow you to buy new toys to use in NSFW game scenes with the girls. Screenshots Characters Sophie moved to the city from a small rural town. Her initial goal was to find a part time job while she studied, however, she fell in love with working at the Resting Bean Cafe and decided to devote full time to her job. She now dreams of owning her own cafe or restaurant one day. Sophie practiced Jiu-Jitsu back in her hometown and has recently become a black belt. A true social butterfly who loves meeting new people and making new friends. The present manager of the Resting Bean Cafe. Mira tends to be secretive about her past. To date, no one has learned much about her. She can be stern at times but seems friendly during most interactions. Some would call her a perfectionist with expensive tastes. Sophie has noticed that she’s rather lazy when it comes to manual work and would prefer to offload her responsibilities on others. The original owner and manager of the Resting Bean Cafe. She claims that her puppet like appearance is the result of a curse placed on her, however, Colette has been secretive about how it happened and refuses to give any details. Her mannerisms can be cold and distant, making her true feelings difficult to read. From what you can tell, her relationship with Mira is a strained one. What is she hiding? Social Media If you would like to keep up with ongoing development of the game, you can follow us basically anywhere: http://twitter.com/tentakero http://tentakero.tumblr.com There's more in store when it comes to characters but we aren't ready to present that just yet. 16. Idris is a bonds man- a special bonds man. While most of his clients need to bail loved ones out of jail, a few are looking for a reprieve from someone they once knew. For Evalise, all she wanted was to get a bail bond for her boyfriend, when Idris surprised her with a simple but confusing question. What if you could make him forget all about you? Story Evalise's boyfriend has a bit of a wild side... and a bit of a knack for being caught. She arrives at a bail bonds place run by a man named Idris- however, while working out a bail bond, he springs a question about a different kind of bond- a memory bond. With his knife, he's able to sever any ties a person has with someone else, permanently, making the other person completely forget about his client. With one small cut, she'd be able to leave her not-so-great boyfriend behind and move on... Characters Evalise Adams Our protagonist, Evalise. She's 26 and works a regular retail job with a not-so-regular boyfriend who's a repeat petty criminal. Eva isn't the bad girl type, so her friends don't see why she's with him- but to her, it's just a matter of convenience. She was in a car wreck over a year prior to the start of the game, and ever since then her memory has been blurred and she's slowly distanced herself from her friends. So, finding any kind of person who'd show her a bit of comfort- even at the price of having to bail him out of jail a few times- was worth it to her. Idris Whitcher Idris is a bonds dealer who also runs a lesser-known side business of severing the bonds people have with others. He's 28 and likes seeing movies the night they come out, playing with his shelter rescue labrador, and taking long walks on the beach- at least, that's what his dating profile reads. He takes an immediate interest in Evalise, but hasn't exactly tried the whole "dating" and "relationship" thing in a while. ...And many more characters in-game! Details This game was being made for the Indie Game Maker Contest, a month long game jam held by Degica to make a game in any valid RPG Maker engine. I was hoping to finish this game, but alas, I was only able to get a demo finished. So, now I've ported it to Ren'Py and am finishing it, extending it in the process! The concept for this game came from something quite visible in the key art- the red string of fate. While it's not present in the game, it does give a good idea about what the game is about, as it focuses on the bonds forged between people and fate. As it was a starting point for me in development of the story and is an item most people can identify, I placed it front and center in the artwork. Steam Page The current demo is about 15-20 minutes long. Demo Download it on Itch.io!

You play yourself as you try to help out a mysterious personified color to fix the program they inhabit and to get the Art program Spectra to run again. But beware! 22. Project Introduction My First Castellan is Elysium Studios' first visual novel and it's a romance-mystery in an alternate history universe. Visual Novel Synopsis Ever thought you had a bad day at work? Harlequin Beaumont has you beat. You see, he just got a sweet job as Castellan of Vernon and on his first day in town, his family’s reputation as a bunch of party animals precedes him. This, of course, makes him seem like a young, naive fool to his new personal assistant, Ruby Fox. After trying to joke around with the castle’s security staff, he proceeds to his room to retire for the night… only to be held down and injected with a magical elixir. When he wakes up three days later, he finds his best friend, the Crown Prince of Cordonia, at his bed side… and he is now a she. You both work together to try to hunt down the truth of the conspiracy against you as you fulfill your obligations as Castellan. Navigating both the Royal Court and the nobility, as well as Cordonia’s seedy criminal underbelly, you can discover a plot that stretches to the highest levels of Cordonian society that leaves you wondering, can you really trust anyone? In Episode One, you get to know Northwinter, the capitol of Vernon and your new home. And what better way than a festival? After you are installed as Castellan of Vernon, you get thrown into the celebration of the Greater Feast and culminating with the Winter Solstice. However, the conspirators who changed Harley left something very important behind: one of their own! Because of the crowds and tourists, he's having a hard time leaving Northwinter. Your objective is to hunt him down while not panicking the crowd and get the details about what happened to you. Staff or Team Members Apart from myself, we also have Madison Taylor (artist from the Least Likely Magical Girl web comic) doing the background art and DaphInteresting (character artist who did the Panzermadels art) doing the character art. Matthew Myers (L33tMusic) is doing the original sound track, Atomic-Invasion is doing the logo and GUI, and WhiteCharisma is finishing up the trailer. Progress The project is 100% written and since we've gotten to the point where we've gotten as much assets as we could with the resources we have, we're going to be launching a Kickstarter soon. Background art is around 10-15% completed, character art is 7% done, the theme song for the OST is done, and we're working to get started on the GUI. Originally, the game was a one-off, 100,000 word VN but after serious thought and introspection, we decided to make it into a series because the pacing was wrong doing it in one go with only 100,000 words. We're aiming for an August early release on Steam/itch.io and a December full release. Extra relevant information My First Castellan on itch.io Contact info: [email protected]
  23. Hello! I'm here again to represent the original work of my team. We called ourselves The Wrecking Crew. Previously we've created a meme card battle visual novel called Dark Lords Don't Give A . Now, our current ongoing project is called CloudNovel Breakdown. Before we start, you need to know that The Wrecking Crew is basically a gathering of CloudNovel developers who want to have fun by trolling players. Kinda like a stress-reliever break from our actual, serious project. So yeah, from times to times, we gathered together and do a small project like this. A HEAVY WARNING: Do not play our game if you're depressed, stressed or anticipating a serious game. STORY Play as the main character (customizable name), a noob developer in an engine CloudNovel. As she is about to publish her first visual novel, a bug occurred! Now, she is responsible to go on the journey, entering the visual novels' worlds one by one to find a magic button that will reset the server as well as fixing all the bugs. Story Origin Actually, the story is inspired by the actual incident that happens in CloudNovel. At that time, the users of CloudNovel was growing in numbers so we had to move to a new server to accommodate those numbers. However, after we moved, something went wrong with the server where the site would slow down abruptly and sometimes just inaccessible. Thus, while we're waiting for the server company to fix this problem, the only temporary solution to solve this was by asking the site owner, Sonya to press the reset button. SO here comes the actual, real and unofficial description of the game. You create a game, you publish it, a bug happens. Called site owner, wait for the bugs to be fixed, but oh shoot! Your bugs are contagious! You are forced to enter the visual novel world to find that magic button in the hope it will fix the engine. NOTE: Due to your contagious bug, the visual novel worlds you entered would have bugs too. Anyway, we hope you a safe journey. FEATURES: We worked with several artists/developers/writers to do this. Each of them will make their own visual novel inside the game. So we will have different styles of art and for non-artist developers cum writers, they will be using a free art material. So in other words, features we'll be having are: FREE! Different art style from different artists (including unfinished art) or free-to-use art Different genres of story (all-in-one VN) Bugs, many bugs Sometimes, MC would transmigrate to a different body in certain worlds, so MC can also be male sometimes. MAIN CHARACTER is a female character who is eager to try out a visual novel engine and somehow she ended up making a bug while she's trying to publish her first visual novel. Original MC Art by fluffness MC in another visual novel world Art by megumi ART AND SCREENSHOT Yup, we've made the MC cries a lot. Art by Haryu If you haven't realized yet, this is a meme game. We've made this for fun. This is our stress-reliever. If you decide to try playing this game, please do note that YOUR ENJOYMENT IS NOT GUARANTEED! We planned to release this game on the 1st April on CloudNovel site.

Sometimes she hears voices in her head talking to her but the only word she hears is “Yahdeus”. She’s never figured out what it means but has decided to not tell anyone about it. Her hobbies consist of painting, bird watching and playing video games. FEATURES: Kinectic Episodic Novel, 5 hours long Screenshots DEVELOPMENT UPDATES * Please check back around 3/31/2019 for the next update! FUTURE PLANS: Demo, Kickstarter, Website Episode 2, Patreon for future projects NOTE: MIYU is an episodic kinectic visual novel that will be broken up to 5 parts. The writing for part 1 is around 60% done. It needs a significant amount of editing and proofreading, but I’m hoping this story should be released in late July/August. The character art that is currently displayed is a place holder until future notice when I am able to swap them out for the final character art. The story will be commercial and should cost around $6.99 For more updates please check this post weekly for weekly updates. I am hoping to have a demo done in a month. Tell me what you think about what is shown so far. We will soon have a website completed for the project.
