  2. Finished manga promotion video of Sora no Otoshimono.......... a.k.a Sora no Otoshimono final movie.

The start of the movie will make zero sense without the manga knowledge.

Be sure to watch this special after the movie.

    http://anilinkz.com/sora-no-otoshimono-final-eternal-my-master-special

It continues the cliff-hanger movie end and give us the true ending. If not for this "voiced manga",  I would be breaking a thing or two now.

  3. I've read all 3 of them and here is my thought.

Grisaia -- Grisaia's common route is very long and enjoyable. So my guess is they will focus on that and make it a romcom series(like previous walkure romanze). Not necessarily a bad thing imo.

Daitoshokan -- Agreed with cryofrzd. Will probably end up as typical moe series. I can't imagine it being successful even if they adapt kodachi's route. Seriously, what the hell are they thinking ? If they want to adapt a August work, THERE IS "AIYOKU NO EUSTIA" .

Mirai Moto -- This one has strong potential as it is very suitable for anime adaptation. First of all, it has a solid and linear(sort of) story, a true end and due to the VN nature, they can(and should) easily adapt all routes without using omni-bus.  Also it has an insert song(a good one) and you know that an anime looks 50% more awesome with a skillfully inserted song.

My best recommendation that fits what your need : If you can read Japanese, will be Root Double: Before Crime, After Days by the writer of Ever17. It has massive amounts of choices, 30+ endings. Oh, it is all ages as well. It uses a very unique choice system not seen in any other VN. Even if you can't I recommend you do it anyway with translation tools, it is just that good.

^  +10 to this. Personally, I like Root Double more than Ever-17. Really liked how they executed the true ending.

Aside from having a solid story and fully-voiced protagonists, another good point of Root Double is its well-made bad ends.

A choice you made in earlier stage might affect you in the future and you don't realize you're entering the bad end til it is too late.

A particular bad end totally surprised me. Only after playing about 1 hr and collecting about 5 CGs, did I realize that I entered bad end. And guess what ? The trigger is accumulation of some wrong choices I made since the start. Each of those choice didn't immediately take effect, instead they punished you at the end with an elaborate bad end. Man, that was my favorite bad end in VN so far.

^ All is assuming that you have yet to find out  the "loophole" of the choice system that is~ xD

  5. According to neregate, we have 3 VN adapted anime for the upcoming season. <-- What a rare occurrence.

    Grisaia no Kajitsu

    Daitoshokan no Hisujikai and

    Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete

All 3 are good and popular VN.
    Grisaia --  Getchu 2011 best VN  #4

    Daitoshokan -- Getchu 2013 best VN #1

Mirai Moto -- Getchu 2010 best VN #10.......................................................
    ......
    .......
But you know the case with VN adaptations. They rarely end well.  I don't expect them to turn out really good.

But naturally, the "disappointment" degree will be different for each adaptation. So lets make a prediction here---

Which one do you think will turn out best  ?

  6.   :D Anyway, it seems as if I am in Tsuki's route already, unless the common route focuses on her a lot. Her route or not, I'm really liking the backstory. :)

I hate her.  She didn't go full dere even in her route.  <_<

Playing Tiny Dungeon series now. Bell is so damn adorable even from deredere heroine's standard.

  7. Do you honestly mean to tell me that you can't see any difference between the design of the older August games such as Princess Holiday and the new ones such as Daitoshokan?

Nor can you say that the same characters in the same title have "one face", although as in most vns, there is a certain aesthetic uniformity to the characters (except for abominations like Little Busters)

"thousands girls --> one face" is just a figure of speech. But compare to other VNs, August's sprites are definitely more similar across their works. Take Tsumugi for example, shrink her face a little, paint her hair pink and we got Eustia (From Aiyoku no Eustia). Those 2 are just too similar. Especially when Tsumugi adopted an apologetic gesture, she is the splitting image of Eustia.

I feel that starting from Yoake, August's characters are getting more and more similar.

  8. As an avid fan of Eushully, I felt Madou Koukaku was a weaker title.  The storyline was good, but the gameplay was tedious (micromanagement of 30+ territories and constantly pausing battles to micromanage unit actions and movement), imbalanced (difficulty spikes in mid-game and then drops off like a rock), and suffered from control issues (precise movements and maintaining attack range).  With other titles that have strong storylines AND more refined gameplay (like Ikusa Megami Zero and Verita), it's hard to recommend Madou Koukaku as *the* Eushully title to play--though it provides a good contrast to Kamidori Alchemy Meister, which had a weak storyline and great gameplay.

I have only played Kamidori , Arterial and Madou Koukaku(No interest in old games) so yes, maybe I was being presumptuous by saying it is the best.

But if someone ask me to choose between 3 of them, I will definitely answer Madou Koukaku.

Yes, like you pointed out, the gameplay is pretty much unbalanced(the dolls overwhelm most units and high-levels generals with knock-back SS are almost impossible to kill) but personally when comes to gameplay-VN. I judge with enjoyment/fun factor more than the gameplay because for me, story/enjoyment is primary and gameplay is like a bonus.

And Madou Kokaku excels in that aspect.

-over 100 territories with beautiful and unique landscapes(The design of the country's capital cities fit their background perfectly), so many ways to progress through your first try(assuming that no walkthrough is involved), wide-screen resolution and for the first time in Eushully history, male are voiced.(Viva Eushully!!!)

  9. I'm currently still playing this one. And yes they do use the old Japanese style of talking, some are tricky to understand at first but you'll get the hang of it. My Japanese proficiency is of around JLPT N4 level, so it is really tricky for me to read/play the whole VN without assistance.

So they did use old era Japanse.  :(

Guess I will read Reminiscence and Hapymaher first.

     character design are amazing.

Amazing!!?  That "thousands girls --> one face" style design is ?

  10. First of all, I apologize if there is already a topic for this. I searched but couldn't find it(both in forum + fuwa) and I suck at searching.

So how do you guys think of this list ?

    daitosyokan.jpg

Unexpectedly, Daitoshokan is 1st. True, it was a better VN than your average chara-ge but personally, I don't find it that good to deserve first position. Seem like the majority have different opinion than mine.  :P

All 3 titles of Grisaia entered the lists in their respective years. Awesome.

Madou Koukaku FTW!!!!! IMO, the best game from Eushully.

Interested in Reminiscene(and Hapymaher). I heard that it is the same author as Aka Goei. If so, it must be awesome.

Have anyone here read/played ChuSinGura ? Is it difficult to read,language-wise ? As it is a history based VN and I'm not native JP, I can't handle if they use old-era dialects or those weird way of talking.
