Deep Blue got a reaction from Tyr in 4k posts celebration thread (?) not!
So I wanted to do a proper post about this and I gave up on that idea while I was writing it and then I was doing a blog and I also quit in the middle of it too, so here it is the lazy, bad and short version of both them.

I wanted to give my thanks to a few people in the forum, very few, since i don't really talk a lot with many of you... actually I really dislike the idea of mentioning people in particular so screw that.
So, happy new year everyone! 2016 was probably the worst year of my whole life, by far (no, not because of trump, fuck that! xD ). I'm hoping that 2017 can be at least a bit better... although 2016 did have a few good moments (I finally graduated from the university yaaay) and some funny moments too (that trump thread xD )
It really saddens me to see how many of you can't take a fucking joke anymore and you also feel the need to edit or censor them because of that, like the one that Tyr made that was full of awesome memes, references and jokes and  yes even if you don't believe it he probably jokes around 80% of the time or is being sarcastic except when he is not.. which is around 99% of the time  (I'm crossing your name out because i don't want to mention anyone)
I didn't know that everyone was so easily triggered in this forum : ( when somebody can't take a joke and feels the need to shut the other person up because it feels aggrieved... it says a lot about how we are doing as individuals and also as a community, I noticed it not only on fuwa but on Twitter, Facebook, or any social media too, everyone seems to be at their edge all the time... come on take everything in a less serious manner!
But please ignore all my rant, I don't want to start a fight I just wanted to point that out and nothing more.
So yeah, happy new year!  Best wishes to all of you, specially to all that people that don't like me.

Deep Blue got a reaction from Chronopolis in Narcissu: Himeko's Epilogue Spanish translation. (Español)
I know nobody cares about this type of translation in this forum (for obvious reasons, for once the novel is already translated and nobody really speak spanish in this forum xD)
But to go to the point, I finished the translation and will be uploading it in the next few days (1 or 2 days at most)
The dialogues are re translated from japanese to spanish from scratch and many parts were re translated too specially atogaki, from Japanese to spanish since there were some inaccuracies (blog explaining a bit more about this)

Big thanks to Schwarzstorch who edited the images, hacked the game and did many other things, and also waited for me for so fucking long xD
Translation, proofreading, text editing, random insults, etc.: me (?)

You are wrong, kurisu calls Maho "Senpai" from the first time, she never calls her plain "Maho", now at some point they changed her name to senpai because they HAD TO (and they explain what senpai means) or else the story wouldn't make any sense but this doesn't make sense either way because why kurisu will change all of the sudden changing from using her name to Senpai in that specific part?Guess what? She wouldn't, a lot of serious stuff happened before and after and she never changed the senpai to her name.
See, what you think it was a sensible thing to do it was just something that doesn't make any sense AT ALL and thus a cheap way to fix something for a bad translation decision.

Honorifics are part of their language and culture, just as much as mayuri's way of talking (a childish japanese way of talking)  and how they conjugate verbs depending on the person they are speaking to or the situation they are in.
You cannot have one without the other, you cannot replace a San with a Ms/Mr, the same way you can't replace kun or chan or any other honorific... but wait ohh I see... they didnt replace those with anything, so for example how can you understand that katsumi acts in a really close way to the people around her using the so evil HONORIFICS, yes, you can't, because the translators decided for everyone that you shouldn't care for that and it seems that nobody actually cares as long as the translation looks like if was written by an english author but by doing so they striped the personality of the characters that makes them so unique, all of that is gone because of a bad decision to turn a JAPANESE vn into a weird English wanna be thing.

If you want to read English novels then read something written by an English author, then again what you actually want is some butchered cross version of a Japanese written visual novel turned into some American version, the question is why would you be reading something in Japanese if you are so against its culture and everything that makes it so unique?

In simple terms, you are asking for a hamburger but at the same time asking to take out the meat and add tofu to it

I can kind of understand where Deep Blue is coming from. As of late more 'translations' are localiszed as they would a dubbed version. And it is kinda annoying for those that notice the differences and changes in more subtle stuff like honorifics as a means of social hierachy etc.
To be fair there are more americans than there are english. And "British slang" isn't something you see in any kind of media outside of britain itself. For my part, I've seen a few FTW, FTWs and some other stuff I'd count more on the american side of english.
Which means nothing as the translation company is just the company that hires the translators. For all we know they might be Murricans, Brits or even Japs themselves.

saying that the quality of the translation is good... I don't even...
they "Americanized" every single name in the game, changed the order of the names, changed surnames with first names with no patter.., rip off honorifics, ruined and added retarded american speech slang to many characters, replaced the senpai honorific with plain names and then at some point started using it again explaining the meaning of senpai in 1 sentence... so why didnt they used it from the beginning? xD Oh yeah I know, if they use senspai the readers would get lost, who is senpai? you can only see kurisu and maho in the scene, there is on one named senpai there, I'm lost! please Americanize everything for me, please!
They should have also added some dank memes randomly to some scenes just to not to confuse some readers and make them uncomfortable with the weird japanese terms : (, ahh is that an american flag waving in the background? oh and uncle sam? Now i can understand the plot , yokatta I mean thank you God almighty!
There are some bad translated parts (which points out of a translation not being QC or TLC), for example at one point
changing the meanings of どうして to why from how or vise-versa when the characters meant something else, changing the meanings of 寂しい and 寒い
not using the word 萌え for some reason because people that read vns dont know what the hell moe is, right?  again bring me something american im getting triggered here with all this weeb BS : (
and I can go on and on....
The translation problems if you don't understand what they are saying is not that bad since you will still get the plot but adding that stupid american slang here and there... that's just bad taste and when they actually change some words (that are in the dictionary of the game) to the "equivalent" of the English ones and then some others they dont... it just doesnt make any sense AT ALL.
At least they kept the childish way that Mayuri uses, but overall they lied or at some point changed how they were translating everything (I remember reading a blog and one of the translator explaining that they were going to leave the honorifics and many other things untouched and stay as true as they could to the jap ver and the previous translation which was way better than this one, so this lead me to believe again that at some point someone changed everything and in the process they ruined some parts of the translation too, that or they didnt QC/TLC)
But then again, how can I complain when I'm being lazy not reading it in japanese and im also using a "free translation"

OH yeah I forgot using the word "Lintahlo" (リンターロ) because let's be racist, it's fun! Even though the professor speaks English he doesn't say it with a fucking L like mocking a Chinese speaker, in fact you can clearly hear him saying "rintarou" in a really poorly and badly acted American accent but that's another issue not related to the translation... (and he is a japanese VA so even if he wanted to pronounce it with an L that's something really difficult for him)
what was I saying? Oh yeah:

Deep Blue reacted to InvertMouse in Attending my dad's funeral this afternoon
Thank you so much everyone. I am back from the cremation ceremony, and as I mentioned last night, I really feel at peace. Maybe I'll curl into a ball later and cry at night, but for now, I'm ready to move forward.
A lot of you lost loved ones when you were still kids. I can't imagine how I'd be able to deal with that. For me, I had my dad until I'm past 30, so I'd already call that good fortune. I'm independent, my dad's taught me a lot, and his death has taught me even more. Easily one of the most important person in my life. I don't care about celebrities. Guys like Dad are the ones I love and care about.
My dad wanted a Buddhist style funeral, so we granted him that wish. Hearing so many people chant for him helped me settle my emotions. I still know nothing about spirits, but if the Buddha exists (or whichever God the individual has faith in), then the ceremony exists to say hey, please take this man's spirit back to your side, and whatever happens after that is up to the Gods. When I think of it like that, it's like the Gods have lent me this spirit for 70+ years, and now it's time for him to return to a better place. Maybe wishful thinking, but I can let it all go when I think this way. Perhaps some day I'll end up wherever he is now as well. I guess this is just part of the journey in our circle of life, assuming such a thing is real.
The funeral staff handed us all tissues when it's time for us to say goodbye for the last time, but I didn't end up needing them. There were wet eyes but no tears falling. I feel so determined, so peaceful. My dad knows what dreams I have in life, and now I want him to watch me as I chase after them.
Thank you for all of your thoughts! Happy to hear more .

Writing doesn't click anything for me, the story does, I can handle something that goes on and on aka repetition, bad pacing, etc if it leads to something good.
I cannot read something that isn't something to begin with, can I?

Deep Blue reacted to seventhfonist425 in Going to Japan in a few weeks, need advice
Don't worry too much about not being able to speak Japanese, since if you're staying at a hotel, chances are there's someone at a desk who knows english. It's perfectly normal for foreigners to stay at their hotels, so they need to prepare for that kind of business. So if you have questions that some of us haven't covered, they should know way better than most of us. (Meaning you can ask them for popular tourist locations too.)
The best transportation options as a foreigner are the train and bus. There's a rush hour, sometime around 8 o'clock, where trains'll be really crowded (there's lots of videos of those "manin densha" literally filled to the brim, packed trains of people being pushed in to fit) so I recommend trying to avoid that. If you have google maps to take you places, it'll tell you what trains to take. You can buy a train card you can fill up with cash and use that to get on trains (scan when you get on and off. The same goes for buses. lol, I almost got off a bus without when I got off, was lucky a friend stopped me.) Also, this card is multi-purpose, I believe it also works for certain vending machines that have the option for it. So it's just, load money into the card, and off you go.
As for the Shinkansen (bullet train) I actually don't exactly know how that works. I know you need to reserve your seats beforehand, but when I got on as part of a study abroad thing, they just sorta did all that work for me. You CAN actually get there by regular train, but it'll just take a little longer.
Places to go... shit, I honestly forgot most of the names of the places I went to. Shrines and temples are really well kept, so they're worth going to for sight seeing. Akihabara is guaranteed. There is Otome Road in Ikebukuro, if you're into that. If you do end up going to Kyoto, there's lots of deer there, so I recommend that very very much. All the animals there are used to being around people, so they won't run off like around here. Also in kyoto is uhh, there are a few shrines that end up going super super high. And if you ever see those shrines with those staircases that go super high up, be prepared to get really tired, and get drinks BEFORE you go up, lol because prices climb with the stairs (they really do. things are more expensive near the top) but the climb is honestly worth it, since the view is really amazing.

THE NUMBER ONE THING TO BE SURE OF: Make sure you do whatever it is you need to do with your phone company so you can get 4G or whatever data plan you have working in Japan. I DID NOT. (Couldn't call my parents the entire time I was there since I couldn't figure out how to get the telephone booth to work) So I had a rough getting around, and very often risked getting lost when I was alone. So my only hope was to find a seven-eleven (those things are everywhere and have internet) and load up a map to get back to where I needed to go. (Also, I recommend googling information if you're ever unsure. If you don't know, google probably has the answer for it)
Other tidbits: Uhh, let's see, off the top of my head, and based on what happened... Trains have a time where they stop working, be sure to confirm when they stop. And uhh... there are some trains that are FEMALE ONLY at certain times of the day, out of consideration for females who might get assaulted. Convenient store food tastes super good. Going on a night on the town is... I'm not sure. You should consult someone else about that, but it seemed like that would risk having to use too much Japanese, more than I was capable of, so I don't particularly recommend it if you don't know Japanese. And lastly... how others will perceive you will depend on how you look. If you look white or something, they'll probably try speaking english to you, which in your case, would be beneficial. (That's all I got for now)

(Also yeah, same. Japan was the only time I ever went out of state, and I went for a month.) Uhh, Finals thoughts, you should expect to run into trouble, but you should also expect that you will be able to find ways to solve them. As long as you have the proper technology to find information you need and provide a cushion for you to fall back on, there's really no need to worry. (Things like google, or asking people in hotels is always useful. I very much recommend googling "temples and shrines in tokyo" or "sightseeing in tokyo." Kyoto also works.)
