  1. Well, it actually works out conveniently enough because the thing he's reminiscing on is a 'farewell', but it's clear it was misinterpreted if you look at the Japanese line 過去に離れていた意識. Mistakes like that are also super frequent too. I only see one in the posted screenshots, but they're littered throughout the script, and I don't think many people every realized that. There's essentially nothing you could possibly want out of the old fan-tl besides something as tiny as the structure of the occasional line. Even lines that are translated 'right' still have a plethora of issues (just look at the conversation between Asuho and Kosame), and the narration completely disregards flow and writes at an elementary school level.
  2. What the hell do you want these people to do?? It should be obvious that these people do not speak fluent English, so why in god's name do you expect them to somehow know what's better for a translation than the actual people working on it? And to answer your question, yes the companies do actually look over the translations, and I know for a fact that Palette made suggestions on it. Twitsumi Nobody from Sekai touched the translation. Have you considered that maybe, the translator himself just realized how terrible of a choice that is?
  3. It's explained in the first instance the phrase is used, and I'm pretty sure the meaning is just simply the animal, not slang for "idiot". So yeah, you would have to not read the lines to misunderstand why she's calling him that.
  4. I don't think anyone's ever said the bestiality scene was essential to the story, in fact it's probably the least important h-scene in the game, and it's the shortest. Hell, the bestiality is only a PART of an overall scene that starts with like 20-30 lines of masturbation. If they cut it right you won't even lose any information, you just won't actually see the act take place.
  5. The quantity over quality argument doesn't even apply here. This was an official release, not a fan-translation. They could've hired more capable people very easily.
  6. Nekopara being more popular than Corona Blossom has nothing to do with the art (it does have better art though). It's more of nekopara being what I'd call "mindless moe" whereas Corona Blossom tries to have a story, but at the same time tries to balance that out with moe SoL stuff, which only results in not having enough of each.
  7. From the looks of it it seems to be similar to the clannad box. You can look up unboxing videos for it on youtube to give you an idea.
  8. Plenty of mistranslations littered throughout it. Just a few examples If you ignore girls in puberty you're going down the wrong path (not you, but they (the girl) will go down the wrong path) I waited for the moment Chinami would come down with glue all over her uniform (the MC's uniform not hers, and "glue" really just means starch on the uniform) Or if you want more here's a list one of the editors that got kicked off made while going through it https://pastebin.com/riMwPRnB
  9. What do you mean box doesn't count lol. It obviously costs more money to produce a larger more elaborate box using sturdier materials.
  10. Have you compared them? Mangagamer's physicals are much smaller.
  11. The real shame is that instead of translating, you know... some of the games pulltop actually put effort into making, they keep having them make these cheap cashgrab VNs. It's almost like moenovel is averse to actually putting in serious effort.
  12. who are these people again also re: the grisaia box what the fuck do you want them to do. These were planned 3 whole years apart. Either they cancel it, and get a bunch of people complaining because they wanted it, or upgrade all the SP backers for that... oh wait, the SP grisaia box was already made. There's quite obviously no solution to this that'll please people upset, so just accept it and stop crying.
  13. Moonstone said they want to localize this title, so I'd probably steer away from trying to translate it.
  14. A lot of the tsukkomi/boke lines were replaced with some famous comedy duo in the west, so I could see it being inserted. Also "No, I can't be bothered googling." You could've googled most of the those in the time it took you to write this post. Googling stuff you don't know isn't a bad thing, I do it all the time.
  15. Congratulations you've discovered the point of her character. Her speech is just as bad and cringey in Japanese and I guarantee leaving those words in English would have nowhere near a similar effect.
  16. The quality is fine, and from what I understand most of the unfinished editing is in the h-scenes. Chances are they'll put out a patch or something when it's finished.
  17. There's one tsundere character. That's about the best comparison you can make.
  18. I'm not big on philosophy but I really enjoyed the parts that I played. The second chapter in particular functions really well as a sort of horror/mystery.
  19. The translation is done by the same people who were working on the fan translation of it.
  20. Nan is probably a hint at Yaegashi Nan, the Senran Kagura artist who also did art for two Alicesoft games, Evenicle and Drapeko.
  21. Well, keep in mind further tiers involve creating more game content itself. The tiers probably aren't a good measure of the exact amount needed to fund the localization of each part.
  22. Sums up most of the problems I have (am having) with it. I'm kind of iffy on the SoL scenes. Some are great, but ultimately I feel like it suffers from there only being like 5 characters in the 2050 portion. That and the repetition of some stuff... As much as I enjoy hearing Tamura Yukari scream out KAKUGOOOO, there only needed to be one toy gun fight scene in the school.
  23. It says it's from a drama CD, so no it's not part of the game.
