  1. This is very helpful, thank you so much I know for a fact my system can handle it because I've played Nekopara and another VN that I can't remember the name of, that use the same exact system to animate their characters and I got flawless animation with about 5-10% CPU usage maximum. So you're right about VNs not really needing much cpu Thanks again, guess I'll just wait for hibiki works to hopefully release a patch fixing it
  2. OS: Windows 7 Professional ed GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (integrated, not dedicated or anything, ~1600mb memory available to it) CPU: Intel i5 3210M at 2.5GHz This is a fresh install of Windows 7 (haven't even had it installed for a month yet.) I updated the graphics card as well as DirectX. Doing this worked for Nekopara Vol 1, which I think also uses the E-mote system to animate their characters. But PRETTY x CATION 2 is extremely laggy and while my computer isn't really top of the line, it should be more than able to handle it. The only settings I've edited in the game are the text settings.
  3. So this visual novel uses the E-mote system to animate its' characters, and it's actually really well done, but the problem is that the game uses up to 60% of my CPU and is really slow. Before I reformatted my drive, I had Nekopara installed (they use E-mote as well, I believe) and suffered from the same issues. Updating my drivers fixed the issue and I was able to play it just fine. So I tried updating my drivers again and it's still extremely laggy. Has anyone experienced or have a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance
  4. Hi, can anyone here help me with this problem? The text from previous screens won't clear and it just all stacks up into a giant jumbled mess... thanks in advance! When I open the game and load a save file: When I press next in the visual novel, this happens: (The text interpreter part of VNR forgets to remove the first sentence) After about 5-6 clicks, it's covering the entire screen, which makes it super hard to read: Also, it's worth mentioning that out of my 9 owned novels, it only does this for Daito
  5. Anyone know what's going on? I really want to play this novel
  6. Hey, thanks in advance. I'll attach the screen caps below.
  7. Hi I'm playing this vn here: https://vndb.org/v8158 For some reason, the text from vnr stacks up. Usually when you click next in vnr, the black translation box has its previous text scroll up out of sight so you can read the next line of text. But right now it's just adding all the sentences together to make one big paragraph Help
  8. So I've been reading untranslated visual novels over the last 2 months. It's been slow but I feel like I've gotten a lot better & my vocab and kanji recognition has been improving significantly. I realized that having furigana above kanji makes me subconsciously read the furigana instead of the kanji. This was fine in the beginning because I read relatively slowly. Now that I'm reading faster, it's a problem as I end up subconsciously skipping over the kanji and just reading the furigana. So, is there any way I can disable the furigana WITHOUT losing the ability to click on a kanji I don't recognize to see the definition? Thank you
  9. Thank you friends, I will be looking into both of your lists. I've already downloaded Canvas 2 but haven't started it yet so I think I should get crackin' on that some time soon. Wouldn't mind more recommendations though, I'm a relatively fast reader! These two especially - I really like their art style. Too bad I have to wait a few months to read it
  10. Here's what I'm looking for: 1) Preferably translated into English (...preferably, but it doesn't have to be because I'm learning Japanese anyways and wouldn't mind saving some content for the future) 2) Heroine like Aeka from Yume Miru Kusuri or Ikezawa Hanako from Katawa Shoujo. Someone overly innocent, bashful and cute. By the way, is there a name for this type of heroine (like there is for tsundere/osananajimi/etc?) 3) A really good moving story, with only a few H-scenes. I'm not really looking for hardcore hentai every 20 minutes of reading or anything but I wouldn't mind a good reward here and there Thanks in advance!
