  1. Type: Manga Volumes: 3 Chapters: 20 Series Status: Finished Published: 1999 Genres: Insanity, Horror, Psychological, Supernatural Author and Illustrator: Junji Ito In a remote village, a man suddenly becomes obsessed with spirals. As he collects more and more spirals, he is driven slowly insane, until he states that he is going to express the spiral with his body and is found the next day dead wound up in a circular tub. Upon his death, the danger of the spiral spreads and the real destruction begins. Will the mystery of the spiral ever be solved? Personally I enjoyed this because it had a unique theme, interesting characters, extremely creepy art style. It is generally an odd book, if a very good one.
  2. I recently read Dramatical Murder and I am almost done with Reconnect. As such I was wondering if anyone who had read them would be willing share their opinions on it.
  3. currently about to finish dramatical murder reconnect.
  4. Developer: Nitro +Chiral Release date: April 27, 2012 Rating: 18+ Freeware: No Routes: 4 initial routes each with a unique character. A true route. Each story has a bad end, and then there’s a separate bad end for some of the characters. Length: 30-50 hours Genres: Yaoi, Romance, Dark, Game, Cyberpunk, Science Fiction, Multiple Personality Born within Aoba was another personality, which gives him the ability to use scrap. Scrap allows him to enter someone’s mind and either destroy, regenerate, or control it. The sole goal of this alternate personality is destruction. If Aoba stops fighting it or loses his will to live, this personality takes over. Some interesting points about this visual novel are the ends. The good ones are extremely touching and the bad ones are extremely creepy. The characters are also extremely unique and have curious ways of looking at life.
  5. Comyu English Title: unknown Developer: Akatsuki Works Release date: October 22, 2009 Rating: 18+ Freeware: No Routes: 5 main routes, and plenty of side routes that will unfold as you progress through the main routes. Length: 30-50 hours Genres: romance, slice of life, supernatural, mystery, action, drama, psychological VMDB entry: https://vndb.org/v1896 This story centers around Akihito, who will soon realize that he will be bound to four other people in controlling a gigantic metal beast. This story details their conflicts, friendships, and possibly their destruction. I really enjoyed this vn in particular because it has a wide variety of characters and routes and an interesting plot.
  6. Today I will be reviewing All You Need is Kill. I read the manga adaptation written by Ryosuke Takeuch and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, though it was originally a Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Type: Manga Volumes: 2 Chapters: 17 Series Status: Finished Published: 2014 Genres: Science Fiction, Action, Military, Supernatural, Time Loop The background for the story is that the world has been attacked by an alien race known as Mimics. Kiriya is a soldier going out to his first battle and he has just woken up from a terrible dream in which he fought that battle and died. As he goes throughout his day many things seem similar to his dream, and he ends up dying in his first battle. Upon his death, he wakes up back in his bed. How will he escape from this time loop? Recommended for fans of the genres posted above. Typical for the action genre yet somewhat unique in its time loop concept.
  7. i agree on all fronts,i hate it when neurotypicals don't speak there mind.
  8. As some of you might know, today is World Autism Awareness Day. Why I care: I have Asperger’s Syndrome, also known as high-functioning Autism. Why you care: 1% of the population has autism. That’s 3.5 million people, just in the U.S. (autismsociety.org) Here are some helpful tips for understanding/interacting with said people: It is not uncommon for people with autism to be uncomfortable when making eye contact. Around 99% (this may or may not be a real statistic) of people with autism find small talk to be pointless, painful, and difficult, as most of us are hyperrational. Much of the time we don’t like being asked personal questions or questions we think are irrelevant, and a lot of things count as personal or irrelevant to an autistic person. (Ex: why would you want to know my favorite color or what I want to be when I grow up??). People with Asperger’s syndrome or autism are often extremely uncomfortable in social situations. Online interactions are preferable. (I don’t bite virtually!) People with autism will occasionally be hypersensitive to certain senses. For example, I am hypersensitive to sound and light, aka screaming small children and high concentration sunlight will send me running for the hills. Also avoid these dumb stereotypes that I’ve encountered: People with autism are idiots (common among teachers) I must treat you like a baby because you have autism (common among idiots) There is no variety on the autism spectrum (warning:if you act like because you know one thing about autism you know everything, you are likely to be clobbered over the head by an autistic person) Autistic people are rude (dislike of personal questions isn’t the same as rudeness) Autistic people can’t manage themselves. (Not necessarily all people on the spectrum can’t manage themselves. Some extremely successful people with autism include Temple Grandin and John Elder Robison.) If I had to summarize the positive bits of autism, I would say we have an increased ability to focus (when we’re interested in the topic, that is), rather jovial personality once we get to know you, and a connection to animals. Remember, we don’t hate people (most of the time). If you have any questions about autism or my experiences with autism, please comment or send me a PM.
  9. Wanko to Kurasou Developer: Ivory Release date: April 14, 2006 Rating: 18+ Freeware: No Routes: 2 main routes with multiple choices that determine which miscellaneous scenes you will see Length: 10-30 hours Genres: science fiction, slice of life, comedy, romance, drama, kemonomimis VMDB entry: https://vndb.org/v812 In this particular world, there are varieties of cats and dogs that have been bred to look human, except with animal ears and tails. Along with being highly intelligent, they tend to be around the size of a young adult. The main character finds one of these animals, known as anthropoid animals, in an alley close to death. He decides to make the rather out of character decision not to let the dog die, and instead takes her to his apartment and cares for her injuries. Upon finding that she is not on the missing dog list, he decides to take care of her and put up some ads at the nearest vet, dog park, etc. When he discovers that the dog’s owner is dead, he finds her next of kin and enlists her help in taking care of the dog. Thus begins an interesting slice of life with a unique twist. Warning: prepare for cuteness overload.

  16. Choices are one of the main things that make visual novels unique. In this post, I will be discussing types of choices and types of choice-makers. Please note that there are questions at the end of this post. I would appreciate it if you would answer them. Types of Choices Moral The moral choice is typically based around right and wrong or your personal beliefs. Oftentimes, these choices will be weighted such that you have to choose between personal gain of some kind and what you believe to be right. An example of this would be a bribe and the question of whether or not to accept it. Another type of moral question that I’ve seen is where it’s kind of a moral gray area so you have to follow more of your personal beliefs rather than the beliefs of the whole. For example, whether or not to kill an attacker when there is a good chance he will try again or harm others if you let him go. So do you kill him for his crimes and prevent any more attacks, or do you let him go to avoid becoming a murderer? Character Connection These tend to be simple choices that are nothing but a decision between which character you want to improve relations with. It will often take the form of who do you help, who do you walk home with, etc. Strategic These will typically have something to do with confrontation, and you will need to decide whether to attack the strong or the weak first, or whether to advance or retreat, etc. Typically there will be one right choice, but the situation may make it so you really have to think about it. They’ll often be hard to discern, but they are discernable, as opposed to good end / bad end choices, where you have no way to tell what the effects of your choice will be. Good End / Bad End You typically find these choices near the end of a visual novel. There are typically no clues as to which will bring you to which end, or they’ll try to mislead you by giving you one that looks like it will lead to a good end, but then they will give you a cruel twist. A good example are some of the choices from Grisaia. Types of Choice-Makers (I would like to specify that I’m talking about your only play through or your first play through, as in you’re not full clearing it or following a walkthrough.) The Seekers This particular type of reader will see a character they really like or a type of playing they prefer and will immediately start adjusting their choices to try to get that route or storyline. The Personalizers This type of reader will typically make their choices according to what they would do in that situation. The Role Players These readers tend to assess the character and then adjust their choices such that they make the same decisions that the character would make. I was hoping to put a poll here, but had trouble figuring out how they worked. If anyone knows, please tell me in the comments. These are the questions I was going to ask. Feel free to answer in the comments. 1. Of the categories of choices I showed above, what type do you enjoy the most? 2. Of the types of choice-makers I mentioned above, which would you categorize yourself as?
  17. thanks, i can't believe i forgot to try that.
  18. yes and no, the general idea is correct but i need three points of view front, back and side.

  20. Juniper’s Knot Developer: Dischan Media Release date: April 12, 2012 Rating: 14+ Freeware: Yes Routes: 0 = this is a kinetic novel Length: <2 hours Genres: contemplative Download (English version): https://dischan.co/product.php?productID=4#top VNDB entry: https://vndb.org/v9986 There are only two characters within this story. They are a small boy and a female demon, neither of which are named. The story starts off from the demon’s perspective. The small boy comes across the demon trapped within a circle; if she exits said circle she catches aflame. Upon their meeting, the demon trades cooked chestnuts for stories. The way the small boy interacts with the demon is quite interesting, which is one of the reasons I enjoyed this so much, as he has trouble deciding whether he sympathizes with the demon, or fears her. One of the main reasons I liked this story is because it has a very unique concept and interesting characters along with beautiful artwork. It’s also a good starter novel because it's short, while still retaining excellent artwork and story, allowing those who are not ready to commit a large amount of time to visual novels to give one a try.
  21. thank you for the signature mr.moegii
