Hello world, been a long while.
So, I've been busy, real busy. But, it's finally going to pay off. We're almost at the goal, and I'd like to thank all of those over here at Fuwa who have stuck around with me until now, be it from the start, or when this project started to gain traction. Thank you so much.
Now then, until next time, when we'll be releasing the full game, after 2,5 and almost three years. Also haven't sold out.

    WORK IN PROGRESS

Sisterly Bliss ~Don't Let Mom Find Out~
    Available on Mangagamer (NSFW)
    Summary
Ichika and Futaba are so close it even surprises their friends and family at times. Ichika, the diligent, stubborn older twin, and Futaba, the childish, sociable younger twin, are an inseparable pair.
But there's more to their love for each other than first meets the eye.
Growing up, the two did everything together. No matter where they went, the twins were never apart. And even now that they've grown up, their personalities diverging and leading them to different hobbies, they're still as close as can be. For Ichika, the responsible big sister, looking out for childish, spoiled Futaba has become an everyday occurance, both at home and at school.
But one day, worried that the twins are growing too close, their mother chastises them, explaining that there's a difference between being supportive of each other and being codependent. Regardless of how close they are, she says, they can't stay together forever. With that admonition, the twins' relationship begins to change.
Lurking beneath Ichika's wish to see Futaba happy is a different feeling, one that torments her. A desire that cannot be fulfilled. And as their relationship changes, Futaba grows restless, seeing her wish to always be by Ichika's side drifting further and further away.
What awaits these twins, who harbor feelings stronger than mere sisterly love? What form will their relationship take, and what conclusion will their story reach?
Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order
This game follows a system where each choice either gives points to Ichika, or it gives points to Futaba. There are two good endings and two bad endings. The ending you get is decided by the difference between the number of points each girl has.
The order in which the choices are made is irrelevant. All that matters are the number of points accumulated. Therefore, there are many combinations of choices that will lead you to the desired route. Skip to the bottom of the Walkthrough section to see which choices give which points and decide for yourself, or follow your desired route's guide if you just want to end up on the correct route and don't care about choosing.
This system is represented in-game via a two sided bar chart which you can visualise at any time by right clicking and selecting 'Status' in the menu that appears.
    Walkthrough
The good/bad ends follow the exact same choices except the last two. Choose the other choice for the ones in bold to change from the good to the bad ending or the other way around.

    Ichika
    Good Ending
    Bad Ending

    Futaba
    Good Ending
    Bad Ending

Dunno, perhaps I've grown cynical as I age - but I can see this backfiring in a rather painful and impactful fashion. I don't think any of us really needed or wanted 18+ on Steam.
Though, on one hand - it would be a large boost in sales for publishers, having that extra coverage on such a well known platform (not to mention it might help bypass the bullshit MG etc have tradionally gone through with payment processors).

But, this might be abit too much exposure - and no amount of age-gating on Steam will satisfy those with torches and pitchforks. All they'll need to do is exaggerate abit here - outright lie there, and the hyperbole will spur an ignorant mass media to jump in on the witch hunts~

Overall, yeah. Basically, I wanted to say, in an extreme situation that somebody decides to put Euphoria-like VN on Steam and it causes some mass freakout, the result could be pretty unpredictable, but, I guess, the possibility of that is very low.
I'm also a bit concerned with a certain other detail. Technically, most 18+ VNs are set in high-schools, so the characters are supposed to be underage, even if they look like adults or it's explicitly said otherwise, so technically the whole VN industry lies in a somewhat legally gray area, especially in more conservative countries. Actually, in my country hentai is illegal for exactly the same reason, and quite a lot of sites that give access to it are IP-blocked. VNs probably exist because the industry is so small that nobody even knows about them, so the more exposure they get, the bigger is the possibility that they are going to be noticed by those who shouldn't notice them. So, in the end, I'm mostly just worried that I'm personally going to lose access to getting VNs legally rather that that it's going to bring some major problems.
    Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

I'm slightly more disturbed by the fact, if we believe the annoucement, that they got rid of pretty much all their marketing staff, with claims they're not touching the actual translation/development crew (and no indication they're actually moving resources there/expanding the localization team). Marketing was, pretty much, the only thing that worked as intended in Sekai. This plus the fact that people got fired out of the blue, it doesn't look too pretty. Hopefully it's not some kind of disaster in the making, I actually would prefer for Sekai to stay considering their involvement as an EVN publisher.

Too lazy to read through the thread, so I'll just chime in my two cents (having read the OP at least)

The anti-anime thing that often rears its head is more of a general society thing, than Valve specifically (as you see it often being a scape-goat for all manner of things).  I'll hesistantly call it a form of racism - or at least, "personal interpretations being misconstrued as objective truth". Someone that doesn't typically watch anime or pay attention to the styles used often make assumptions on a characters age, mistaking various characters as being younger then they actually are (and I don't just mean "legal lolis", I mean characters that DO look 17-18 to you and I - but not to an outsider).
People often forget that not every group will have the same features or builds as the avrg white person. And while anime characters are obviously exaggerated and moe-blobbed a lot of the time, they typically retain the traits of the demograph it's based on~

Long story short: Baseless assumptions from outsiders - abusing their power to sate personal, arbitrary opinions.

Relying on Steam to get sales is starting to bite companies in the ass. And since the VNs don't show up anymore because of Steam's erratic nonsense, they're gonna have to actually try and market their VNs properly or find a different option to prevent poor sales.

I knew it! All those Steam engineers where lurking here to see if they could get away with this.

But jokes aside it's good that it's fixed/changed again. And hopefully this is not a sign of what is to come with steam.

    MAITETSU 18+ STEAM RESTORATION PATCH v1.3   7-10-2018

    Maitetsu WIP Decensor patch thread

The main issues I was dealing with while making that patch that most certainly limited how much I can do are:
    1. KrkrExtract just doesn't want to cooperate majority of the time when extracting XP3's.
    2. When it does, it doesn't even extract the stuff I needed.
    3. Repairing the sprites requires my being able to repack EMote .pbs files with edited .bmp images. Not hard at all to do, just repacking is the issue AFAIK
    4. The data.xp3 is encrypted. About half of it KrkrExtract can get done, but the half that i'd need to fully repair the "filesystem" I guess you can say into something usable is.
    5. God help me TJS2 bytecode is one of the most disgusting atrocities I have seen.
    Bless based nihongo tools

If there is anyone out there who knows the KiriKiriZ engine or EMote engine, your input is always welcome.

Ixrec/Amaterasu TL: weird "Japanese-y" sentences, reportedly butchers the prose and themes of the original VN, literal to the point of being borderline nonsensical at times
GHS TL: so verbose even Polonius would tell him to shut the fuck up, 2deep4me, heavily modified to support GHS' weird view of the world
Moenovel TL: literal shit.  I wouldn't read this if it were the literary version of water and my eyes were on fire.
If I had to pick one, I'd pick ixrec's TL every single time.

It's pretty common to keep the game running in the background when translating, so you can check what's going on for context, be it voiced lines, CGs, what have you. I can't speak for other translators, but I'd never translate a game without having a copy of it at hand, in case I want to check something.

Yeah, by all accounts, the correct answer is "none of them". The official translation from Moenovel is quite possibly the worst, though, if that helps you make a decision.

I only read the first translation, but according to some evidence, none of the versions are even good. It seems like the version by Amaterasu is "the least bad one", but I'm not sure if anybody directly compared all the versions to each other.

Hey, I'm the guy that did the patch. If anyone's willing to lend a hand, and knows a thing or two about kirikiri, potentially the encryption/decryption side of things, feel free to PM, DM, or whatever if you want to help. Don't know where's the best place to ask regarding it, but if someone can give a brief list of what was not included or properly implemented with the 18+ DLC, that'd be a huge help. Haven't even gotten far in the game yet this is the type of shit I get side tracked by lmao

And them releasing it and first now saying they're investigating it just tells me that they in some form of manner tried to avoid it and get away with not fixing it. If they did it because it would be hard for them, or for them to quickly be done with the game is unknown. End results for a consumer is still the same.

Also Virgin route itself is like 20 hours, which is huge for a fandisk
The routes arent anything worth mentioning either tbh, This VN shines with Tsujidou only afterall

Also the translators apparently didnt like either of the VNs they translated lol and they did it because HoshiOri was way too big for a first project if i remember right, they are doing Hatsukoi's append disks now, idk if i ever wanna read anything related to Hatsukoi ever again though, god that was an infuriating VN
