  1. I had a mixed impression of Yumina, but I gotta admit the feels at the end of Kirara's route were also real. A mix of the music playing at the time, and , had me all choked up.
  2. I love the concept, but it could be hard to pull off unless the writer(s?) have a firm idea on each characters personalities - and are able to stay unique feeling from the others. Mmmm, not sure how to explain that better... It's like... my impression of Swords of Edo, even though there were varied characters, they all gave off the same vibe; you could just sense they were written with a certain mindset, so when they spoke, it felt very "samey". Ah! I just thought of a good example: one actor in a massive play, having to play all the roles. Not to say you should have a different writer for every character, nor every perspective... Just that you need to change up "how" *you* think and feel when "stepping into the shoes" of each character. Handhelds are my bane but I have bad eyes so it can't be helped haha.
  3. Ahhhh such a tease D: but still, I like how Loco15 put it: "I-it's not like I wanted to watch this or anything. B-baka! "Watches in 720p"
  4. It would be really interesting to see if they could push for a surprise ps3/ps4 port if they put it out on the psn store. (than again, persona 4 golden is on the psn but "only" for vita, so just because it's on a central network doesn't mean it will be all-platforms, sadly) Which raises a question, I wonder why they restrict games to certain platforms when it can cross with minimal effort? *shrugs* Wakarimasen lol ┓(゚ペ ┏ -Insem, Summer '14
  5. Ah fair enough, such as concerns about in Grisaia no Kajitsu. Sorry about that, was abit presumptious of me.
  6. Decay: I had been wondering about that, actually. Makes sense in hindsight. Kyrt: Not a chance, they would have to sell it as AO, which would create all kinds of barriers for the marketing process. Explicit sexual content would never be accepted on a average store shelf; Implied sexual content or softcore, maybe. but not the full-on stuff.
  7. I am not sure if it has changed my life for the better, but it has definately helped me in harder times. In my occupation, showing any emotion is considered a flaw that can be exploited. So I've grown used to a putting on a "stone mask", even when I don't need to wear it, just out of daily habit. Reading VNs (and anime to a lesser extent) give me an outlet, and are good at making me laugh, cry, or yell in anger (looking at you, Muvluv). I believe without them, I would have turned into a worse person. It's cheesy to say it, but to one extent or another they have helped me keep my heart. Beyond that, they have been a good escape when I'm stressed out, and have certainly opened my mind to how vast and different ways of thinking can be, and have helped me understand "what I find important" to myself, when compared to a stories' protagonists, etc. Can't say any ONE VN has had a direct impact on me (Suzu 4ever <3), as long as it grabs my heart and/or mind.
  8. Anyone that likes Suzu is good in my books ^^ - it's decided, I'll sit down on my next day off and give Shikkoku no Sharnoth another shot.
  9. I sense blasphemy. Though in all seriousness I can respect that, I know there are plenty of scenes (overtly-graphic rape, brutality, vore, guro) I would prefer to have a toggle for - even if I am "pro hscenes".
  10. Recognized afew (looking at you, Clover Days), but I don't know enough to say either way if it's a legit list or not. Nicely put together vid though, and gives me some titles to keep an eye on.
  11. That's rough lol. I think that was the first VN I ever discovered - way back in the time of the early p2p sharing prog Napster. (suddenly reminded just how old he is compared to back then, dies alittle inside)
  12. It's a huge spoiler, so I wont go into detail - but if you haven't read Rewrite, I can safely say one of the heroines is yandere. Tskuhime would technically be another. Ayakashibito has a borderline yandere heroine in one of the arcs. Though none of the above would be considered "batshit crazy". Hmm, suddenly I wish there was a heroine like Yuno Gasai...am I strange?
  13. That's a pandoras box i've been carefully eyeing, hoping that the lid doesnt pop off. TIme will tell; esp. with the steady growth of VNs on Steam. Some people say VNs are niche enough it won't get noticed...I'm not so sure... It's hard to "not" notice it when big breasts are in your face right on Steams store front page as a new "popular" title (Sakura series, etc). As for Kickstarter and what they allow/don't allow, I dont think the above applies though, I suspect they just have 100 monkeys with keyboards working in a shed, and depending on the random keymashing - they approve/deny certain things in a project. I can list afew projects still ongoing that have racy posters and dakimakuras etc posted without hinderance..
  14. I'd say the most embaressing experience I've had involved answering my phone when I thought my tv was on mute (during a hscene, conviently - and also on auto-forward); but instead i seemed to have spiked the volume to max... :S I reacted quickly, but the damage was still done. Was kinda an akward call after that lol.
  15. Oh no... :X i wasen't aware of that. That's pretty cringe worthy... Maybe I should have backed the physical copy with the "extra slip" in the collectors box... Dont want to, but I may have to rely on yarharfiddledeedee if it's physical only. (where I live, import and exports are "very" strict when it comes to adult content.
  16. This is one of those ones I really want to enjoy, but maybe I'm just too much of a pleb. The writing style feels way too pretentious and ends up driving me nuts. Someday I will finish this, some day.
  17. They might add it to the backerkits as an option, otherwise might luck out and see it as a Steam purchase way down the road.
  18. "See? They are just FRIENDLY (closes eyes and covers ears), so glad I moved here..." (sweat drop rolling doing his forehead) Could be interesting, depending what they do with it and its overall depth.
  19. let's get the obvious ones out of the way first: ef - a fairy tale of the two, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Clannad, Kanon, Fate/Stay Night, Tsukihime. The less obvious ones: Utawarerumono, Tears to Tiara, Devil on the G-string, Sharin no Kuni, Muv-Luv (extra and alt.), Hoshizora no Memoria, -=Ayakashibito=-, Da Capo 2, Yosuga no Sora, Wanko to Kurasou (that last one really surprised me, didn't expect much at all from it going in). I'm sure there have been others, but those stick out most in my mind for the long-term.
  20. If I had to guess, I figure Frontwing wants to get paid a seperate fee for the +18 version - and SP is relying on the Kickstarter funds for financing that. Would explain why they won't say anything yet, as they need to know what is absolutely certain financailly.
  21. Pretty much my thought on "outsider" opinions, they don't know about it except for what slips into their sight by chance - and typically it's the porn style (i'm looking at you, Steam.). TBH, back before Tsukihime was translated, I only considered VNs as spank material too - never even considered the idea of a "real" story unfolding and something to enjoy beyond a handful of CGs. The thing is, they don't really try too hard to make a distiguishable difference when promoting, so a average joe is going to see the anime artstyle and just presume it's a porn game (becuase lets face it, 8 out of 10 times it is). Not that that's a bad thing, it's just a difference in cultures. A large portion of the world is fairly prudish (when generalized as a majority), whereas sexuality is a more openly expressed subject in Japan. Many would argue it's a mysgonistic culture, and at times it is hard to argue against that; but their history "is" steeped with sexuality. A good example is a few years back there was a controversial art exhibit in europe, featuring alot of Japanese artifacts and paintings of the various eras, and many of which are very "provocative" and of course cuased all kinds of people to be offended and shocked, some thinking it was in poor taste, and some that simply had no idea (myself included) that its history was so colorful. EDIT: and I don't mean some cheap exhibit - I don't recall the details, but I remember it being a very respectable and reknowned exhibit, possibly involving national works. Typically, if someone cannot accept or even try to understand something, it's a recipe for misunderstanding and stereotyping. woops, kinda rambled there, but I'm sure someone gets what I'm saying :3
  22. Unique is pretty broad... But using my idea of unqiue, I would direct you to Forest or Cross Channel. Praise be to the fluffy tail!
