  1. http://store.steampowered.com/app/493450/ Newest Japanese VN from Norn (a company primarily known for their nukige with light-novel-grade-long titles) is on Steam suddenly. It's all-ages. And probably a nukige as well, originally. Also, the original title is... *deep breath* Kemomimi Harem Vacation ~Inaka de Nonbiri Mofumofu Kemonomimi Shoujo-tachi to Kozukuri Zanmai~,
  2. CRC is one of the old VNs I look back relatively fondly on. It gets a lot of undeserved flak, tbh, mostly because of the in-house translation and dub. LMM, on the other hand, is just bad.
  3. Well... Little My Maid is a thing, but it's terrible.
  4. Romanesque is not a MG title, it was done by JAST.
  5. Sakura Space is out (I genuinely thought that and Sakura Nova were one and the same somehow), and this is what Steam thinks you should also play: Do I even need to say anything more?
  6. Wut? I mean, he certainly is very good as far as technique goes (dem watercolors are amazing), but nobody looks like that in real life unless they're severely malnourished, and even then. Giant foreheads aside, anyone who's seen, say, beach scenes in Period knows that his body proportions are all out of whack as well.
  7. The best scene with Kohane isn't even on her route, but on the common route. I... might have forgotten what it actually was, but it was good. Something about a key? And yea, Yukina's route is just... I mean... Just no.
  8. No, not really. It's thoroughly average. Also, it introduces a couple of mystery elements that ARE NOT RESOLVED AT ALL. There's a fandisc, so maybe the answers are there. But if you want to know you won't find any answers in the VN. There are some other infuriating plot points that I disliked... I'd say the main route (Asahi) is worth it, but the rest not so much for various reasons.
  9. Either way, most of the shit OELVNs are shit because they're written by empty-headed otaku who are determined to mindlessly copy every tired trope from Japanese VNs. So essentially, BLAME JAPAN!
  10. You can't install them without Steam (cause that's where you're installing them from, duh), but you can run some of them without it. Big publishers use Steam as DRM more often, but it's not always a requirement. For example, a bunch of Paradox Interactive titles don't require Steam to run. That is something the publisher decided to do, and there are several others who do just that. It's funny you mentioned Sekai, because (as I just checked), the Steam release of NEKOPARA requires the client to be up to play.
  11. The great thing about elitism is that you can be elitist about a whole bunch of different things!
  12. And if your house burns down or gets burgled, you'll lose your hardcopies forever. Is it a dumb argument? Yes, but so is yours. The truth is, Steam is NOT a DRM service. It doesn't force developers and publishers to use any sort of DRM, that's up to creators to decide. Lots of Steam games are playable not only without connection to Steam servers, but without the client altogether. So if a game uses Steam as DRM, that's because the developer or the publisher decided that.
  13. I want it because I'm almost broke! Also, I'm due some karma payback for the big(gish) key giveaway I held a few months back. That's how karma works, right?
  14. I'm tempted to say "story", but really, when I feel like reading something H-heavy (not saying "nukige", cause I haven't read a proper one in years), I do just that. When I want a story, I pick something plot-heavy. When I want more moe in my life... well, you get the idea.
  15. Finished Nekopara vol. 1. It was about as shit as I expected, tbh. Great production values though, it's a shame they were wasted on... this. However, I did enjoy the completely unintentional and very sinister implications behind genetic engineering of a half-animal species who are basically glorified slaves.
  16. Considering that there aren't really any even remotely "ugly" heroines in VNs, personality is always the primary factor, tbh.
  17. Someone should write a Romance of the Three Kingdoms knock-off, but with localisation companies instead of warring states.
  18. I played it for a bit, but didn't get too far.
  19. Also, I wanted to be snarky about Mass Effect being included in the list, but really, what's the point? Fallout seems to be going in the same direction with 4, though my interest in that franchise largely died when 3 came out.
  20. I like consistency in my RPG systems with minimal invasion of plot, and I'm allergic to huge numbers. So Western RPGs by a mile. I've only played a few JRPG though (owing partly to the fact that I haven't owned a console of any kind since 1993).
  21. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I don't think you should translate anything to English at this time.
  22. I did enjoy it as well, but not Ruri's route. It has one of the things I find most icky in VNs:
