  1. I've read 4 or 5 VNs in 2016, so making any sort of list would be just pointless. That being said, Sakura Maid 2 was the pits. As for the best... nah, no deserving candidates.
  2. Just finished eden*. It was... okay. A bit drawn out despite being short, especially by the end. The person watching my stream was bored shitless, I was just a little.
  3. I had pretty much the same impression when I played NekoPara. The fact that catgirls in that universe are genetically engineered (and not some youkai or other type of magical being) puts a shit cherry on that cake of awful. Also, what the heck is with catgirl reproduction in that series? Catgirls can get pregnant, but cannot be impregnated by humans. Therefore, catboys should exist but there's no mention of them at all. The only other explanation is that each and every catgirl pregnancy is artificial as well. That's some 1984 shit right there.
  4. Cohen was the big one for me, followed by Bowie. I'll be honest, I never particularly liked Carrie Fisher. I didn't dislike her or anything, but I'm not a big Star Wars fan and while I've seen her in some other stuff (including the brilliant Catastrophe), I never really became a fan. Leonard, on the other hand... that was tough to get over, I never expected it to hit me like that.
  5. Yeah, as mentioned above, I'll have to go for Kara no Shoujo and
  6. I can't believe you didn't point at your username.
  7. Personally, my favorite general is Pyotr Bagration.
  8. He's been working with SP for a long time now, it's nothing new. He's doing work for pretty much everyone.
  9. As the title says, Sekai are currently doing an AMA (with a passive-aggressive title that makes them very hard to take seriously) https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/5g5e3u/we_are_sekai_project_evil_organization_vn/
  10. Eh, I didn't mean to. Call it a game, who cares? I'll pick DEARDROPS (not just because I love it or anything, baka) and Kanade. I genuinely don't dislike any of the heroines in it, but Kanade is too much of a domestic moeblob for my tastes. I wanted to pick Chaos;Head and Nanami as my first choice, but it technically doesn't have any heroine routes (and Nanami is technically Takumi's sister... well, as much as it's possible, considering the spoilerifics), so it doesn't count.
  11. Yeah, I'd say calling it a game is stretching it a bit. But that does give some food for thought. I suppose you'd want to pick a VN in which all heroines are relatively okay, so even the worst one wouldn't be so bad. Hmm. I'm gonna have to think about it!
  12. Sorry, but I don't get exactly how this works. Say I name a VN and what? You guess my least favorite heroine? The next person guesses my least favorite heroine?
  13. I haven't seen the anime, but I absolutely despise the VN Tomoya.
  14. Yuka from Crescendo, OH MY GOD. She was my favorite for ages back in the day when my heart wasn't a black hole of infinite hate and bitterness. Also Riho from DEARDROPS is my absolute favorite right now, but the VN is a bit recent, y'know, relatively. Hmm, who else... Mami from Canvas 2 is genuinely someone I'd absolutely fall for IRL. A girl who has her shit together, gets my shit together and is prone to hilarious fake sarcastic daydreaming (uhh, you pretty much have to read it in order to understand what I'm talking about)? Sold. Tomoko, also from Canvas 2, is great as well. Who else? I used to like Chisato from X-Change 2, Anzu from DC2... Pretty sure there were others from oldey VNs, but I can't remember right now.
  15. I don't get attached much to real people, never mind imaginary characters.
  16. That reminds me, this VN had the single greatest choice that by itself determined whether you get a heroine's normal or good end:
  17. It just sort of popped into my head today that Snow Drop exists. Oh boy, that fucking VN. After all these years it still makes me cringe whenever I recall it, and the reason is not that it's particularly bad (although it kinda is), but that it's ridiculously difficult to get on any of the routes, never mind clear it. Only 2 or 3 choices in the VN are your garden variety "pick a response" prompts. The rest are navigational options stretching over several in-game days. For example, in the morning you are asked to choose the place you want to hang out in the lodge. During the day, you choose which slope to ski on (two or three times!). In the evening, it's the lodge again. If you're lucky, you'll stumble upon a heroine and raise a flag. Doesn't sound too scary, right? Well, the following two points will put that into perspective. 1. You're rarely told where the heroines are going to hang out. Sometimes you get a hint, but even then it's not always right. It's a crapshoot 90% of the time, it might as well have been RNG for what it's worth. 2. If you miss even ONE event for a heroine over the course of the entire thing, you're fucked. Snow Drop does not use a "points" system to see where you end up, that shit is for wusses. YOU MISS AN EVENT = IT'S NORMAL END FOR YOU, SUCKER! I still remember my heart sinking every damn time I realized I'm on the normal end route again. I never once managed to get on a route in Snow Drop when I first got it. Even worse, I didn't even have a home internet connection, so I had to get my ass to an internet cafe just to find the walkthrough! There's difficult, there's brutal, and then there's this sadistic abomination of a VN. Any other examples of ridiculously difficult VNs? Please share, like and subscribe.
  18. I even spent my custom Steam Awards nomination slot on it!
