  1. Just to make sure, you're opening the game with the english version right? Not the japanese version. If i remember correctly, the mare picture application is the japanese version.
  2. Thanks for the help zoom, now that I look at the first sentence, that makes a lot more sense . A question on this part though. 毎日やってたじゃない I was wondering as to how you read that, as I read it as a tsundere line (although I haven't actually seen one before, so I may be completely wrong) (also, I guess the verb is yaru and it conjugates to past form yatte, so it's something like "It's not like I was doing it every day", or is that off as well?) And a big thank you for the last two lines. They were really bothersome, and I never even considered the use of the word 'pretext'. That's quite an interesting name.... and yeah, I talk to Steve on teamspeak. If that game is a loli game, then steve probably has played it.
  3. Ok so 100 lines is a LOT of lines. This is around 45 lines or so. The game is zettai imouto shugii or something like that. 絶対妹上主義 Feel free to tear it apart now. Thanks to Steve for help with some of it, and thank god for jisho xD. I need the most help with the last two at the end, since they're on a whole different level of difficulty compared to the rest.
  4. Welcome to the team, if you need help with anything make sure to ask.
  5. It's been about 2-3 weeks since my last update :<. Sorry that I haven't been regularly updating. What I'm doing right now: 10 Kanji's a day Using Down's chokochoko link and attempting to read the beginner stuff trying to read/translate a game that Steve told me would be easy to read (it kinda is) trying to learn more grammars from Tae Kim's Website (Conjugations, argh. Spelling of words, argh) Kanji Status: I think I'm around 720~ words in. Hard to tell exactly since I stopped following the pdf (the flash cards stopped a while ago) I need to somehow force myself to spend some more time on learning again. I've been busy lately, which is no excuse. (Curse you school, and hoshimemo. Enough excuses now) Homework: 10 Kanji's a day 100 lines read/translated per week from Steve's game that is not at all porn 1 story read in chokochoko library a day When I finish the first 100 lines, I'll likely post them here as a spoiler, and It'd be awesome if someone could check for all the error's i'll make so I can improve.
  6. I'm pretty sure that's what the batch file is for. Ask phoenix to send you the file for it, or get it from the fuwa torrent. (The error message basically just says this game can only be run in japan on japanese computers, and that it is closing now.) Disclaimer: I'm not 100% sure that's what the batch is for, but I think it is. Phoenix could probably clarify.
  7. The problem is with the chapter itself. You're unable to save during that chapter, because the english translatated version probably messed up the file path. Unless someone rehacks the game and fixes it, there isn't much you can do about it. I'd advise to just not save in that chapter.
  8. Not sure what tomoyo after has to do with little busters... did you install the tomoyo after patch to LB? o.o
  9. Line 1: Direct 3D device creation failed. Line 2: Application of video card failed [ビクセルルシエーダ] 2.0.exe did not run (I'm not sure what that is... bikuserushieeda) Line 3: To start up this application, [ビクセルルシエーダ] 2.0.exe is necessary. (I'm not sure what the kana at the end is... badeokaado. Oh herp derp. Video Card?) That would change sentence to... To start up this application, [ビクセルルシエーダ] 2.0.exe video card is necessary.
  10. Just to make sure, are you running Run_this_to_make_game_work!.bat? And could you tell me where your Rewrite folder is located? (For example, it will naturally be at C\\Users\[PC_NAME\\Downloads\\[Fuwanovel] Rewrite\\Rewrite) if you've never moved it.
  11. Oh, those explanations make sense, thanks. I've no idea where I would go about finding tutorial/practice materials, so just jumping in right now. Also, just out of curiosity, I was wondering what this was. コト (Koro?)(Cool?)
  12. The text till where I am now if you want it. There was also a weird series of hiragana that I didn't understand. the "kagakashira" thing. @Kanji, most of that is meanings. Although I've learned a few readings. (hito, gakkusei, genki, otona) Not many though. @Grammar I'm using tae kim as a guide, as well as steve :P/>. Steve is helping me with it since he knows some too. Hmm.. It's usually the dialogue that's the worst xD. Thoughts are usually uniform, but dialogue can be all over the place since people talk in strange fashions.
  13. Week two - 1 day Update Kanji Status: 600 words?+ I was sick last friday, which led to me missing a day. After missing it once, I fell down the path of destruction and self annihilation and ignored kanji for several days thereafter. Basically, I will be taking a break from the kanji section until I feel myself far enough in the grammar to need it. I will still be doing the reviews (sheesh had so many piled up to do today....) and may learn 25 a day if I feel up to it. Hiragana Status: Proficient. I can read it with no problems now. Can kinda write it, but its harder. Katakana: /rage/cries/tears/rage more. Katakana isn't working well for me. I can struggle through it with the alphabet when reading. I can recognize a few of them. Reflections: It's about time I took a break from the kanji... Too much of it is in my short term memory instead of long term, so I'm going to focus on making sure I remember the ones I have now. Oh. Grammar is hard as hell! I've been working on it a bit with Steve on TS3, but it's a freaking monster. きみはメアが大好きだね?And all I wanted to say was do you like mare... + subject acting particle + subject acted on particle + verb particle + implied question particle... - hopefully optional ko + toka particles.... It's a nightmare. And apparently adjectives have to come after the subject being acted/acting on or something @_@. I don't even know anymore. I tried my hand at flyable heart. I didn't get very far, but this is what I understood with the help of a dictionary. That's as far as I got. If I mistranslated anything, tell me so I can see where I went wrong in my leaps of logic. From here on out: I am going to start playing visual novels now, and try to learn some vocabulary from them. This includes both english translated and japanese versions. This would be impossible without a dictionary so thank the lord for dictionaries.
  14. It looks like we found our problem. There are two problems, the first is that you have the registry file path set up for 32 bit computers, and the second problem is you edited the normal directory paths to places that do not exist on your computer, but on someone elses. To fix the first problem, Change the first two lines to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Key] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Key\Rewrite] To fix the second problem, I need to know where the Rewrite folder is located on your computer. To cite an example of the difference, mine is located on my desktop, so the file path is "exe_dir"="C:\\Users\\Dan\\Desktop\\[Fuwanovel] Rewrite\\Rewrite" "dat_dir"="C:\\Users\\Dan\\Desktop\\[Fuwanovel] Rewrite\\Rewrite"
  15. Nice, well done on not missing any days! You're doing well and moving along quickly. Yeah, the reviews are really a pain now, but they're even worse if you let them stack up.
  16. Can you check if theres a rewrite_modif.reg in your rewrite folder right now? It should be above the batch file you were told to launch. It seems it has problems running it for whatever reason. Right click that file and click "edit", then copypaste it here. (or take a screenshot of it)
  17. 早く皆、タユ has dissapeared! Mephisto casts revive. If we collect enough balls of light, we can cast special technique, Tay Revival!
  18. ようこそう,Metaler. Although you've technically been here longer than me . Enjoy yourself.
  19. 頑張って, Ryoji! You managed 85 in the last 9 days, so you can do 75 in these next 9 days too =]. Believe!
  20. another one has fallen victim to the internal server error... request mop up
  21. Yeah sorry, my mistake. Princess waltz was originally made in japan and got localized here. Was misinformed.
  22. It's better, now I realize a more innate problem with what I was imagining... oh well good reference for future plots.
  23. Hm... could you give a few examples? The only visual novels I know that were produced in the west are.. Princess Waltz Katawa Shoujo but I don't think you are referring to VNs made in the west, but a specific type of VN that superimposes japanese customs on people that have no relation to japan.
  24. Last page of thread summed up: Q: Who has the right to translate stuff? A: Whoever wants to Q: What if someone wants you to stop? A: Why should I care /A: It's courteous with a mix of utilitarianism A: Good thing I'm not utilitarian. Q: What if your actions inhibit overall progress of bringing VNs to the west? A: Good thing I'm not utilitarian. Q: 競り合い。 A: 不存在。 Q: Intellectual Properties A: Copyright is dead Q: Reputation capital is from public good A: I thought I said I wasn't utilitarian. I think you're looking for Kiritsugu. I think you've both made your points by now, and should realize you probably won't see eye to eye on this issue. Well done on keeping the argument relatively civil, but Okay fine. Continue. "Grabs popcorn" P.S: Anyone know how to resize images? That image is way too big to have the effect I intended it to have.
  25. The obvious answer would be Nagisa from Clannad, but you've probably already read that. There is also a "heroine" like that in Utawarerumono, although I don't really recommend it. The story started out well in that game, but it fell apart really quickly later. I also can't remember the sickly heroine's name since she wasn't a major focus point. Sorry, don't really know many VNs with that archetype. I think you'd have your greatest chance of success by checking out games by Key though, or talking to someone who has played many games by Key.
