Not at all, only the protagonist gets raped every now and then (But he doesnt oppose resistance) but thats because he seems to rarely take advances at the heroines so they have to do it first. The whole game is pretty lighthearted except at certain story scenes (But nothing too dark).
 
Sadly it seems the world conquest genre is filled with rape with few exceptions like this and Koihime Musou, wich is sad since i would love to play them but i cant stand rape.
 
As for the difference between both there are many but dont worry both are self contained so once you beat Gold you can go back to the original without any trouble.
 
So what Gold has new is:
>New characters and new designs for some characters (Like the Protagonist that in my opinion looks far cooler in Gold).
>New synthesis and shop system.
>New battle type (Not used all the time)
>Almost every Heroine getting a sex scene (Around 56 or so characters have H-scenes compared to the first game when roughly half the cast didnt got any scene).
>All heroines get enough screen time (In the original the japanese characters, Mainly Himiko and Arthur were given more schreen time).
>Entirely new soundtrack (Far superior than the original in my opinion)
 
The only part were the original surpass Gold is in the story but Himiko is pretty annoying since the game shoves her and to a lesser extent Arthur as the main heroines with many H-scenes for them to boot.
 
Anyways be sure to use the english UI patch for Gold available in Hongfire.

I have a contradiction in here: I totally love girls with a twintail hairstyle but i dont like Tsunderes either, sadly Japans seems to have stated that a Tsundere should have Twintail hairstyle.

Dont worry the game is pretty easy just save at the choice time and choose the one with the better outcome per girl you want. For the "harem" end choose one good option per girl and one bad option per girl. Remember that to get Yuna route you need to not select anyone at the kokuri event.
 
Its been a while sorry so i dont remember wether you choose a girl to interact with (wich for harem end means choosing one girl per choice and select the correct answer) or its just a chain of events. There are only 4 heroines being Yuna, Ren, Tsundere blonde and the teacher so dont get surprised if the other girls arent romanceable (Thats on the sequel not available in the west)

Here's a new wordpress website that I have set up for this project that will host all future posts and patches for this project. I'll be updating some of the pages in upcoming days and also update the progress in its respective page. It may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the previous website but it'll have to do under the current circumstances. Rest assured, the project will continue as long as I have another translator to work with... or until I'm the last man standing.
 
I'll put up the first post tomorrow, merely as a formality, but I'll be sure to update it whenever there's been any worthwhile progress to report. I'll also put up a post every month in order to notify people of the status of the team/project. It's become clear to me that another translator is needed in order to ensure efficient progress is made, so I'll be working with that goal in mind for the next couple of weeks.

No no no no, it's not weird art stile, it's bad quality art. There is a difference. One is like screwing up anatomy and not knowing clor theory or how to shade, and the other one is using stylistic choices to make your art stand out.
 



 
this guy has to be pinching nerves to have his hands positioned like this on top of the fact that he looks like he should be in 3/4ths view and yet his back shoulder is the same size as his front shoulder.

the girl on the left has her head displaced from its proper position on her neck and the girl on the right eithr has no shoulders or somebody smashed them with a hammer and broke them so that she could slope them like that.
 



here is an image that shows multiple ways of how not to shade a piece. A) you never use white as your 'highlight' color B ) you never you black as the color for your shadows, C) the airbrush tool is not a legitimate way to soft shade D) they used cell shading for the hair and then soft shading for the face making the hair the only part that strictly uses cell shading E) for 90% of the picture the light source is the top left and yet the highlights/shadows of the hair completely ignore this rule for no logical reason. 
 



The girl on the left's face looks seriously screwed up probably because somebody had to strangle her for an extended period of time to make her neck contort into the shape it is. Necks don't just magically get super narrow at the top. Not only that but somebody bashed in one of her shoulders because somehow in a 3/4ths view the shoulder farther away extends out significantly more than the one closer up (and it should be the other way around)The girl on the right has her eyes off center to the rest of the picture, and her face looks lopsided along with the case teetering on "somebody broke my shoulders with a hammer" again. Because she doesn't have them. Neither of them have their chins positioned right compared to their mouths and I could also re-point out that they used white to shade.
 



this girl be my favorite girl. Like seriously. Either her leg got dislocated or her butt is hella lopsided because her right buttcheek is A LOT lower than her left. See where the skirt is folding under her, that's about where her butt is. Take a finger and and line it up with her knuckles or the hem of her shirt to get the angle of the picture (basically to show you how angled everything should be) now keeping that finger at the same angle, slide it over to that comma after incidentally (where her but is about) notice how the the front of her thigh is practically where the back of her thigh should be. That is the equivalent of me having 1 buttcheek where my butt is and the other one half way down my thigh if she were to be standing up. IDK how that is 'style' and not really bad anatomy.
 
I haven't pulled out my tablet in so long but I really want to redline some of this art right now. Because it makes me cry.

No look at the 2 necks. Girl on the left of the top picture has her neck visibly shrink in diameter. The girl in the bottom picutre's neck doesn't get wider until her trapezius muscle, which is where it should gain width. Neither picture is really good quality art, but the girl on the bottom (while her neck is thin) at least has a neck that follows muscle structure logic.

I dont like the huge eyes but they havent improved (changed) wich is a shame. The fish eyes being the worst part.
 
But im not one to talk i guess since i like Ooyari Ashito Artstyle and you more oftem than not will find people hating on it.

nah the stuff with 10years old doesn´t count, i mean yu-no & other vns are much older and their sprites DO NOT look like freaking goblings on crack

Otomes aren't widely accepted on Fuwa because the translation scene has traditionally been male dominated and males don't like otomes much. OTOH otomes are very much accepted in the OELVN scene because the majority of people there are women and otomes appeal to them very, very much.
 
Expect a wider acceptance of otome as visual novels become mainstream and no longer servicing mainly horny teenage boys. 
 
Also VNs don't need to appeal to everybody to sell well. If you look at books, the romance genre is by far the best selling genre and yet services mainly the female population. That's because more women read books than men, and women read more books than men, which should be a general sort of indicator to where the largest untapped market for VNs lie.

It's just an ecchi vn on steam. They do it for money and that's good enough since they need to eat too.
I could see the artist's frustration but it's in a medium that isn't held to the same standards as literature or film so I have to question why he or she would want to learn to draw in the anime-style if they want to create a meaningful piece of "art".

If you read our latest blog post you'll see that we're actually at 10%. The translation percentage status is out of my jurisdiction, I've let one of the team leaders know but unfortunately the keys to that gate are in the hands of the other team leader.
 
I'm afraid when it comes to these sorts of affairs euphemism is the name of the game. It wouldn't make much sense to report a few hundred lines of editing as most people desire the translation side of things, at least in the beginning. The visual proof needed to quell this matter is not available at the moment so you'll just have to take my word for it. As soon as the person responsible for the red bars signaling translation status returns then the necessary changes will be made to the webpage.

Yeah, I suppose the market will always correct itself. 
 
 
Nope there isn’t (only if you like otomes.) All the critically acclaimed stuff comes with a bit of gameplay.
 
Anyway that detail isn’t critical to the point I was making.
 
As I previously stated, visual novels are but one arm of the interactive storytelling genre. While there are no pure OELVNs getting much attention (there will be in the future,) there ARE pure interactive stories demanding the world’s attention (also interactive fiction being praised across the world but I won’t go there.) Interactive stories are Visual Novel’s parent genre, if the world starts craving interactive stories it’s hard to imagine visual novel’s not being a part of the revolution. Especially with so many highly regarded OELVN hybrids going around right now (The Banner Saga has a novel narrative, but it uses second person novel narration.)
 
While most of the visual novels being praised are hybrids at the moment, that is once again an improvement on no visual novels being made at all. So once again this paints a good picture going forward. There are OELVNs getting made with plenty of attention which include minimal gameplay (like Exogenesis.) So once again there's a steady progression forward.
 
But no, the OELVN industry isn’t a giant at the moment. The future looks promising though.
 
PS: My friend really liked Dischan as well. Marie from the forums also, IIRC. I still don’t see what the three of you saw in it My friend was ecstatic when he received some writing advice from Jeremy.

Both GGN and TSL are made by japanese for the steam audience. By definition they arent OELVNs.

Meh if Blaz Blue and Ar Tonelico are in vndb (Thus considered VNs) then i can see why Arena games would be considered one, i think it could be a good introduction since the fighting aspect could help people ease into the VN portion of the game and be more accustomed to long reading sessions in videogames.

No worries. Admitedly im just talking from personal experience wich i suppose doesnt apply in a general sense. However i think that would explain why series/products aimed at straight people tends to fare better than the opposite.

If that counts then the MC of Fate/Extra and Caster or Saber, Caster is the best waifu the series from what i have seen.

Thanks, and yeah, it would be hard to find another game like that one anyway.  It was short and yet I liked it very much.  It was popular because of the Vocaloid fans, though, not because of the English VN community--they have to have either significant seriousity*, or hentai.  MikuKisu had neither.
 
*The degree to which something pretty heavy goes down in the story, that's outside of your regular anime-style romance/comedy/slice-of-life antics.
