Hola, amigos. I'm Forte and I'd like to be your acquaintance. I'm XY years old and live in Z country. I have a brother and 5 sisters. Wait, why did I tell you how many siblings I have?
Well, even though this may be my first time to actually post here, I've been visiting this sites for about 12 months. I used to stalk my friend's chats and posts. Not that I know him personally, but his preferences greatly match with mine. Even though I don't know what he's like in the real world, I believe he or she's a nice guy like me. Yeah, it must be so. But unfortunately, he or she seems to be dead. I mean, his/her account does. For the last 6 months or so, he never showed up in this forum. Ultimately, it leads me to a decision, "I'll make an account for myself."
Hmmm, what should I say next? Ah, my hobbies. I like reading books, watching films and soccer matches, playing RPGs and board/puzzle games, and talking nonsense. I've been playing VNs for I don't know how long, maybe 4 years? Since I've only know recently what a VN is, I don't remember which VN took my VN reading's virginity. I didn't even think those simple reading visual thingies a game. But after some research, VNs are actually more, more, ummm, anyway it's different from reading a book.
One thing for sure, I'm an anime otaku and I've watched more than 60 anime shows so I think I'm able to listen and speak Japanese. Unfortunately, my writing and reading skill are hampered by those Kanji hieroglyphs. I've actually translated some anime shows to my native language. So if you know a good short or medium VN no one/group has it translated, you can tell me. I MAY translate it if I have the time.
Actually, I'm making some VNs myself, or to be more exact, writing some scenarios to be made into VNs. Those projects' titles are "Solia Symphonia", "Mundus Bearer", "Unattainable Zygkrecia". But my daily activities don't give me enough time to keep them progressing at a regular pace. Furthermore, maybe it's quite ambitious of me, but I want to make it trilingual. To make things worse, I suck at drawing and programming. I'll need some help at making them into VNs once I'm done writing them.
Ok, now about my future plan. I'd like to stay in Japan in the future, if possible, in the near future. Going to Japan is easy enough, sure, but I want a guaranteed life. Unfortunately I chose to quit studying in college when I was still on my fourth term. So I'm only a high school graduate. If you ask me what I excel at, I'm not even sure about it myself. Maybe I'm quite good high school physics (mainly on mechanics) and mathematics, since I tutored many students for about 3 years. But each country has their own curriculum, so I wonder if high school physics and mathematics in my country is the same with the one in Japan. Any advice on how to get a guaranteed life in Japan as I am now?
Ah, I almost forgot. I heard that there's an underground movement here for getting VNs through P2P file sharing. I want to join, ah, let me rephrase it: "Let me join, please."

I've so far read maybe four or five scenes with Aya. God help me, I will now write serious critique of ImoPara.
The main conceit here is, obviously, the younger sister taboo. But somehow the way it's played out renders the taboo uninteresting - the fact that literally every character we ever see (or at least that I've seen so far) is 100% on board with subverting the taboo renders it less powerful, and thus less appealing. And it might even be fine if we were just talking two characters, and nobody else was even aware of the situation, but here it's literally everybody, totally cool with incest. All the casual conversations, everything. Incest is ... boring? First time I've had that exact thought. The fact that all the females share insane devotion to the main character, right out of the gate, actually kind of bugs me. Maybe this is normal for a fairly vanilla nukige (again, so far; admittedly I've only seen a little bit of the game)? Even the tsundere is clearly incredibly dere from the moment you see her. This is probably going to sound ridiculous, but there's not enough of a story here. It's a nukige, fine, but that doesn't mean it can't have at least something happening. I'll point to Ultimate Boob Wars as a good example. It has a little story, which is mostly pretty stupid, but it's not ashamed to run with that story, and it's self-aware enough to turn its stupidity to its advantage for humor value. On the other hand, it's definitely possible to go too far with putting a game behind the nukige - I think of Beat Blades Haruka as a nukige, but it wasn't a very successful one for me, because it had too much gameplay under the hood. This one has the opposite problem (not in terms of gameplay, in this case, but in terms of story). Some middle ground between BBH and ImoPara is probably the right place to aim for, at least for it to work better for me; Ultimate Boob Wars is about right. I'm hard-pressed to think of something it does well. Umm. Aya and Michika are kind of cute? The rest of the characters aren't especially interesting to me. I don't especially care for the art, so that's not helping any. I'm probably going to put this one down after grinding my way (so to speak) through Aya's route. All things considered, I'd rather be "reading" Ultimate Boob Wars. It's got a perfectly good imouto - in fact, a way better one than you'll find in ImoPara. I'll take quality over quantity.

Congrats, man. At least you actually made something like this.

Well, I pretty much knew what I was going to post in this thread before even seeing it. Most of it still stands, starting with:
At least do Front Wing the service of waiting until they announce their plans, rather than crucifying them now on the basis of what you hypothesize their plans to be. Most of you are jumping to conclusions that are, frankly, still unwarranted. There'll be a Kickstarter soon enough - you'll have plenty of time to belittle them without evidence as to translation quality at that time. At least then we'll know what their plans are WRT translation and editing.
Now, as far as the bizarre partnership, I have a pretty reasonable explanation for this. Here's the sequence of relevant events:
Grisaia gets a Sekai Project release. The Steam release alone sells like gangbusters. 16k owners, at > $30 per copy? In the English VN market, we can comfortably call this yooj. That's not to count Denpasoft money and Kickstarter money (though let's be frank, despite the ability to contribute a lot more, Kickstarter money on average probably isn't any better than a full-price Steam sale; shipping, merch production, and logistics to orchestrate it all ain't cheap, nor is the cut Kickstarter itself takes). But the end result is clear: Frontwing is happy, SP is happy, and shockingly enough, even us salty fans are pretty happy. Next up, G-Senjou gets a Sekai Project release. I think it's fair to say that G-Senjou's reputation is, if anything, stronger than Grisaia's. Like Grisaia, the release uses an existing fan TL, which in both cases people have had ample opportunity to pirate. Pretty good comparable, really. It tanks. 3k owners? It even has the option of a substantially lower price point without voice acting, for anybody crazy enough to think that's a good idea *cough*Rooke*cough*, and the same price as Grisaia if you do want voice acting. AkabeiSoft2 is justifiably left wondering what the hell happened. They got 20% the sales of Grisaia, for the same amount of work (or more? probably more; don't forget they HD-ified all their assets, to the community's consternation). Arguably what should have been their most profitable IP is burned, and they have nothing to show for it. Sekai Project probably straight-up took a loss on this project.
Clearly the magic wasn't Sekai Project. Sekai Project might not even be interested in Sharin at this point; I wouldn't be surprised if they would have turned down the option, with as many balls as they have in the air and with what a flop G-Senjou was.
So AkabeiSoft2 starts talking to Front Wing: why is Grisaia so successful? What's the secret sauce?
Front Wing thinks they know, and uses their answer to leverage this partnership. And I think I know, too. The conclusion almost seems obvious, at this point. You're gonna hate it.
Kickstarter is the premier advertising platform for large, high-profile VNs.

Dracu-Riot! Completion Project
Project Info:
As i said in a previous post, if the Dracu-Riot scripts were released, I will translate Miu's route, and that's exactly what I'm announcing in this thread.
But I'm not alone in this crusade, I've partnered with the wonderful people at The Oxford Comma is Superior Subs so we can deliver the best possible final product and lay the Dracu-Riot memes to rest. We also got several people from the Fuwanovel community to help speed up things even more.
How is the project going to go down, you ask. Well you can read this post if you want detailed info, but the tl;dr version is that we are aiming to release multiple patches.
The first patch aims to translate the remainder of Miu's route as well as any remaining untranslated content (images, menus, etc.) with complete editing to polish the current patch.
We are going to try and release this in about 2 months, if everything goes according to plan.
The second patch is meant to be more heavily translation checked as that's when Fiddle has enough free time to go over the whole game.
There is no ETA for this second patch.
This doesn't mean the first patch will be terrible, we will of course strive for a good product, but we would still like to inform you of our schedule. If we waited for Fiddle to be completely free, it would take much more time to release Miu's route, and so we've decided to do it this way.

Why not just make a Miu partial patch, why do you want to go over the whole game?
There are actually 3 main reasons for this:
The first and biggest one is that Insem's patch only works with the physical version of Dracu-Riot! which is very hard to get in the West and we want to make a new patch that works on both the physical and digital versions of the game, this way people can purchase the digital version and patch it, thus supporting Yuzusoft. The second one is that we want to americanize the writing style as well as make sure everything is edited properly, because Insem didn't have time to finish the whole thing. The last one is translation checking. Although we don't doubt Insem's abilities, we really want to try and make sure the translation is accurate. We also want to include translation notes in the game. Only 2 months? That seems way too fast.
2 months is indeed fast, if we were translating the entire game, but we're actually only translating about 4,000 lines and we're splitting those lines between two main translators, this will hopefully make that 2 month deadline possible.
Please do note we will not jeopardize translation quality for the sake of reaching the deadline. If we can not make it in time, we will delay the release until we're satisfied with the end result.
Will the translation have memes?
Yes, but only the dankest ones.

Again, it's because theater has started once again and it's screwing up my whole schedule. I go home everyday with the fear that I might get mugged, but I don't get mugged. Probably because I'm usually bigger than them.  
So yeah. Pretty much. Life got me again. I'll be a cool kid and finally finish the second Ace Attorney for you after my theater activities. Then I'll observe you as you state all the good things about Ace Attorney in a biased way.
Also, you wake up at a time where I'm in the middle of college.

Seriously, all I see is hate for the Sakura series. Why? Because it's popular? Or because you think they're milking the series? Well, that's subjective, so we can argue about it all day long and never come to a conclusion. The Sakura series is still a piece of creative art, and we need to at least show it that much respect.
All right, I will just come right out and say it. The Sakura series actually introduced me to the visual novel genre. It will always have a special place in my heart, yet you all just keep sh*ting on it. Every damn post guys. It makes me so , and I have been trying to hold it in, but I can't contain it anymore. That sounds like a great idea! In other to be completely fair I've made a list of every single member on this website and numbered them. Next, I've brought up a random number generator to decide who to get a gift for. As it turns out, my name came out! Entirely randomly and fairly. Guess I'll have to buy myself a gift them.

As for those extra years, feel free to have them! I always give to the needy, and you clearly look like you need as many extra years as you can get, at this point.
I won't elaborate too much, but I'm mostly referring to how Sekai, to the most part, isn't looking to cater to the Eroge Fanbase at all. They're trying to get the steam crowd, a perfectly valid target, and most of those care not for H-Scenes (and would actually be repulsed by them... probably, I don't really know). This present Fuwa loves their H-Scenes. How dare Sekai put the H-Scenes on the backburner?! How dare they make an All-Ages version for those who prefer one?!
In a different topic, how dare they use kickstarter as a method to gauge interest! Those bastards who keep reinvesting their money and then making kickstarters. They must be filthy rich by now, greedy rascals.
I'm exaggerating, of course. Even from my point of view I think Sekai's business decisions are not always sound, but I'm wholly against how everyone around here seems to hate on them or their kickstarters. Nobody's managed to convince me they truly are evil incarnate yet.

I just think it's too easy convincing me. Every argument I get into I find myself agreeing to the other side's point of view or just saying "Well, that's subjective, so I can't really deny it.". I never get anywhere when I argue.
I will keep it in mind that I should maybe think about getting into an argument sometime, although I wouldn't hold my breath. Unlike you, I don't go on the internet in scholarly pursuit of knowledge or enlightenment.
