  1. I started off reading VNs by completing Hoshimemo and the only reason why I picked that as a first was because of Mare's route. Obviously the ending itself was a big slap on my face. Monmusu Quest? Alice was the only heroine that was interesting (yeah there weren't any other "proper" heroines aside from her). Any recommendations? I'm planning on reading Erect but it's another nukige... Looks pretty good though.
  2. Worst experience? Kamidori. Maybe I'm just too used to playing action-packed rpgs like Dragon Age or Skyrim. It was just painful to play. I die and forgot to save? Well slap my ass and call me sally, I have to waste 30min of my life to get back to the place I was! It wasn't that infuriating actually though. Honestly, I'm exaggerating here. Kamidori is a great game. And the sense of achievement you get after clearing a level is greater than when you clear a boss in Dark Souls. I just dropped it because the boss fight ticked me off.
  3. Yeah this is a late introduction. I have been a member for like 4 months I think.
  4. My name is Blake, and I live in California. Although English is my second language, I can still communicate in English fluently. Currently the editor of Magical Marriage Lunatics! TL team and got involved in some sort of project? Yeah I think it's a project. I love games so often times I get sidetracked while editing stuffs. Usually play League of Legends. As for VNs, I had to prepare for finals so I had no time but I'm currently playing conmyu and little busters. I dropped Kamidori because I got sick of leveling the characters up. I also enjoy watching anime but I have nothing left to watch so I'm waiting for the Kancolle anime to come out (hoping they have Musashi in it). Feel free to add me on League (LunarVicissitude) or Skype. Other than that, nice to meet y'all.
  5. I was being sarcastic... He doesn't like Code Geass though
  6. My dad watched Neon Genesis Evengelion long ago and nowadays he watches anime I recommend from time to time. He likes mecha anime so I recommended him Aldnoah. Zero and Date a Live but he wasn't very fond of the latter. I wonder why. Other than that, he watches Kiseijuu and Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works now. So what about you folks?
  7. Playing Kancolle... Damn I want Shimakaze

  8. When I was using a laptop I brought from Korea I encountered some saving issues on various VNs (i.e Kamidori or Grisaia). I was able to play Grisaia by changing the saving route but Kamidori I was unable to. Now, I'm using a macbook (yes it's a legit laptop and no apple doesn't suck. On computers at least) with bootcamp and I was able to enjoy VNs in error free environment. So what changed? After researching in Korean portal sites I managed to draw a conclusion: there is a file name in foreign language in your file path of application data. I don't have my computer rn so I'm not sure about the exact path but mine was something like this: C:/Documents and Settings/users/*insert random foreign language here*/and there was some other file that contained application data. Now the problem is that you can't just change the file name since the file contains many crucial datas. I got a new laptop so I wasn't able to try it but if anybody experiencing saving problems read this, google how to move files in documents and settings or something like that and try it on your own. This suggestion may have already been made but I wasn't able to find any when I was struggling to save Grisaia. So y'all foreign people might wanna give this a try.
  9. I think some people are having the wrong idea about the magical girl sub-genre. I'm watching Fate/kaleid liner Prisma right now and I don't understand the rating it has on myanimelist. This is why I'm talking about the magical girl sub-genre. I do understand that people hate the fact that there's an anime twisting the Fate universe into a yuri magical girl abomination but really? 7.30? I can't help it but to think that people mistake the sub-genre magical girl for something else. Magical girls, to Japanese, are something like the princesses in Disney movies. Y'all loved Frozen right? Puella magi madoka magica is an anime like Frozen too; it gives a little twist to the traditional concept of princesses/magical girls. I hated Frozen because I didn't understand the extreme popularity I thought it didn't deserve(although the main reason why I hated it is because my friends screamed LET IT GO everytime in class. Pissed me off). The movie was popular back in Korea too, although I bet it was because Koreans have a tendency to envy Americans and like what Americans like. So yeah, adding a bit of tragedy element and death into Puella magi madoka magica and Fate/kaleid(although I don't think this one has death?)is a twist to the happy-happy magical girl universe. Just like Frozen; the prince is the bad guy and... I don't remember Frozen's storyline so let's just leave it that way. Don't get me wrong, Frozen was awesome. I just like Brave more. TL;DR: Magical girl=princesses in Disney movies
  10. Because people mistakes this post as a season 2 confirm thread not a discussion thread even though I said it isn't in the title. That's my guess at least
  11. Lol I was watching the special with my mother behind me and she was like wtf are you watching She thought I was watching some weird porno or some sort...
  12. I started to show interest in VNs about 2 years ago and yes, I was underage that time but who cares you can google "p*rn" and get like 100,000,000 results. That said, the title of my first VN was Monster Girl Quest. Come to think of it, I don't exactly remember why the hell that was my first VN. My first "proper" VN with choices that matters and all was Soranica Ele by Light. Dull, boring, weird story it had indeed but it was my first nonetheless. After that I tried Rewrite but I gave up because I was using a machine translator and reading incohersive passages for hours drove me mad. After 2 years, I came back, playing Hoshizora no Memoria as my first VN in 2 years. I played the translated version. Now I'm going through Le Fruit de la Grisaia.
  13. Like I said, it's basically a nukige with a story. Think it as a longer version monster girl quests with quality cgs (although less diverse)
  14. Really? Could you ask him for the script? I would reaaaally appreciate that if you do
  15. Well I need a hacker at the first place to start anything... If I get the script I'll be able to promote this into a full-blown translation project. And even if the recruitment is unsuccessful I was planning to translate by my own since it's not a long VN.
  16. I first got to know about VNs approximately 3~4 years ago? I was underage back then but hey who cares you can Google "p**n" and get like over 1,000,000 results or something. Aaaanyway, my first VN was Monster Musume. I don't remember why the hell I picked that as my very first VN come to think of it. My first VN that had actually had multiple endings with choices that actually mean something was Soranica Ele. Boring, dull, weird story, and overall kinda bad VN that had no popularity or whatsoever but it was my first nonetheless. I used Araltrans because there were no translated version of it. Currently I'm playing Erect! (with Araltrans of course, and I posted a topic about translating the novel).
  17. Before I start, here is the vndb link : http://vndb.org/v10047 It's basically a guy moving into a school to help a succubus and the school is actually built exclusively for succubi. Aside from the weird sfx it has (think of Monster Musume), I think it's overall a good VN if not great. Though the 50+ H scenes makes the VN fall into nukige category, it's not a VN that contains pointless H scenes from time to time just because the heroines are all succubi. I thought of the VN was more of a slice of life than nukige (but it does have buttloads of H scenes at the endings because there are 50+ H scenes). If somebody is willing to translate this novel (though this is my first time translating a VN), I can help by translating or editing. But the thing is, I have no knowledge of Japanese and I certainly don't the time to learn it either. So how can I translate? My native language is Korean, but I currently live in California. Why am I talking about this? Well, Korea has a very wide fan community of manga and anime, and VNs are not an exception. But as you can see in VNDB, there aren't that many VNs translated into Korean. The biggest reason why is because Araltrans, Eztrans, Applocale, which is also known as the three tool created by god himself. It's a machine translator, yes, but it does provide more accurate translation. I kinda went off-topic... TL;DR: Erect! Is a novel for the people who prefer non-human heroines (like Monster Musume I guess I still can't understand why that game is so popular though... Because it has a great gameplay?) or for the people who are just looking for another casual (... Maybe not casual but whatever) VN to play and I'm willing to help translating. Even if I don't get any people who want to translate, I would like to do it myself if there is a person who is kind enough to extract the texts and import the finished texts if done.
  18. Since No Game No Life is my favorite anime, I'm eager for more. That said, I already read the light novel so I guess it won't be as exciting as the time I first watched the first season (same with Akame ga Kill, I just can't handle the wait XD). But I'm kinda skeptical since the producer is Madhouse. I really loved their movies, especially Wolf Children (damn good movie, if you didn't watch then what are you doing here watch the damn movie). But will No Game No Life/Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei get a second season? As far as I know, the only anime that got a second season produced by Madhouse is Hajime No Ippo (I'm not sure though). And also, in No Game No Life's end, Sora and Shiro summoned an Old Deus which wasn't even in the light novel(...). Any thoughts? Personally, I don't think it'll get a second season (No Game No Life). But that's just my intuition, I know that the sale of the DVDs decide whether another season will be produced or not but I don't know how the sale was in Japan...
  19. Personally, I just looooove No Game No Life. Too bad that there is a good chance that there won't be a season 2 since Madhouse is producing it :P but anyway, what are your opinions? Any other great fantasy anime/manga you enjoyed?
  20. 1) Handle (the one you use or plan to use):mikimir 2) Positions you can fill:translator/ editor/proofreader 3) Types of projects (VNs) preferred:Fantasy, Non-human heroine 4) Availability (edit this one as you get involved in projects):Unavailable 50 lines/day (editing speed) if busy, maybe more if not 5) VNs most interested in producing an ftl for:None. Maybe sanoba witch? 6) Motivation for joining in on ftl:Using translators are okay but not exactly the ideal solution... Might as well translate the whole VN 7) Conditions (any additional conditions, under which you will or won't work):idc if it's nukige or not. Story-heavy VN translating is not the ideal job for me. Works slow if placed in TL
