Have you seen this game: https://vndb.org/v18588? It was released on January, but for some reason I didn't see it getting even mentioned on release lists (neither in English nor in Jap). I wonder why...

I don't get how those chuuni companies can spend so much money on their VNs, as it usually sells much less than moege, with few exceptions, like Grisaia... I mean, Silverio Vendetta sold about 6k copies (lower than a lot of nukige, in fact), and it already got a PSV port. How's that? And yes, I know Nitro+ must've made a lot of money with S;G but they can't simply throw all their money with a small return expected. Unless they make them ten times more expensive, I can't see how chuunis are profitable.

What games will you be playing from January releases?(Besides 東京NECRO)

Also, does chuunige need to be action to be considered so? I thought something like Shokugeki no Souma would count as a chuuni.

Also, was 'ojou-samage' invented by you? You're the only person I've seen mentioning it.

So basically VN-jargon is much more developed in West than in Japan? Because out of 6 expressions you mentioned, only 4 are actually used there(1 still being rare). Or is it because there are more japanese VN jargons that you didn't mention because we didn't know those?

NOTES BEFORE I BEGIN THIS: Although I left the forums, I decided to keep writing reviews here, because I liked it at lot last time. Also, I’m currently learning Japanese, but I’m still in an early stage. But this VN was very easy to be understood using Chiitrans, with ATLAS and the jparser, so even if your Japanese knowledge is limited you can play it. And, last but not least, I didn’t play the H-scenes, so you won’t find any comment about them in this review. WARNING: This review contains light common route spoilers. The other routes won’t be spoiled, since I assume most people here did not play this VN. The overall section will be left completely spoiler-free. “Kunimi Koutarou belongs to the literature club of his school with the goal of someday becoming a novelist. But there’s a type of story that he has never been able to write, which is a “romance story”. And that’s all because had a bad experience with first love when he was still young. Now with the coming of spring his own school and 2 other schools in the region will turn unified, bearing birth to new encounters. For Koutarou it means that he now has the unfortunate luck of sitting next in class to his first love Sena, as well his former best friend Ayane. Now his regular days suddenly turn into those like you would only see in romance novels…” Story (7.50/10) Characters (6.57/10) Art (8.10/10) Acting (8.06/10) Soundtrack (8.64/10) OVERALL SCORE = 7.8/10 Honestly, it’s very hard to describe how this work felt, but it’ll try to use metaphors to sum it up. It felt like eating a nice strawberry cupcake, it felt like a gentle stroll in the park, it felt like the smile of your loved one, and it felt like a cup of bitter coffee. Everything together. And it’s very good. The soundtrack and the art make it worth. Even if some routes are weak storywise (like Ayane’s), if I said I disliked them I would be lying. Because the art and the soundtrack together give flavor to what was supposed to be a flavorless dish. And yes, this is a moege and it’s better than Grisaia. I recommend it.

Lol. 2- New additions to my beloved harem: Julis Alexia von Riessfeld, and Erina Nakiri. 3- Good stuff you should check out: Gakusen Toshi Asterisk (the LN, now my 2nd favorite, after Oregairu), Tamayura (anime, inspiring and relaxing), Shokugeki no Souma (manga, very very addicting and interesting) and We Bare Bears (it's a Western cartoon, now my favorite; you have to watch it!). Also: STEINS;GATE PHENOGRAM (realy really good up to now, on the level of the original S;G). 4- Biggest disappointments: CHARLOTTE (complete trash, sorry Maeda, but I dunno how a genius like you could do such a thing), Nanatsu no Taizai (probably the worst female lead I've ever seen and it doesn't give any justice to its setting or plot) 5- Some happy news: REWRITE ANIME OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can finally see my Lucia animated (I demand a perfect adaptation of her route!). And LB!ME licensed!!! Yay!!! Now we don't have to wait for Doki!!! 6- Now, some bad news: "I, starlessn1ght, won't be staying in Fuwa anymore." Some stuff came through my head and this is my decision. Hello, dear Fuwans. You can clearly tell from the title what this is about. This is due to some 'circumstances' IRL. Let me explain the situation: If I had to summarize it in one phrase, it would be: "starlessn1ght" needs to study more". If you think I'm troubled and have to study because I won't pass or something... You're wrong. Actually, I am currently the top student of the class, and this situation has been persistent since May. I got the highest score of the whole school of all time. (There was a girl in 2nd year who did the same score, but nobody went beyond that). But... Something has been happening lately. There's this transferred guy in my class who got really bad scores (REALLY REALLY bad). However, fearing he might repeat the year, he has been studying more (A LOT MORE). And his studies have been successful. His scores raised by 377 per cent (that's A LOT!). The thing is... He has a goal. His goal is not to get a perfect score or anything. His goal is to surpass me. He told me that he always reaches his goals. And I'm really frightened. Why? , you're probably asking yourself. True, in the beginning of the year I always got 2nd place, until May. What's the problem with the same thing happening again? Why you don't let the guy save himself and reach his goal? I don't have anything against this guy and I don't want him to go bad. But I think he is doing something that will harm me. He is good at sports (I am not), he has good social abilities (I don't even know if I have social abilities!), he is also good with girls... I'm not good in any of that stuff! The only thing I'm quite good of (getting good grades), he is trying to steal from me. Not only he is trying that, but I've been noticing a lot of my classmates asking me about my scores (some who didn't even talk to me), trying to guess my grades, and other girl explicitly stated that she wanted to surpass me. This is not about pride or anything. I don't think I'm more intelligent than others. Everyone is good in different things (I just have a more concentrated intelligence in the areas the school evaluates). The thing is, I myself am being put in the middle of other people's personal goals and competitions. I didn't ask for that. I would be totally okay if that guy had as a goal to have the perfect score. But his goal is to surpass me. And if he does? It will be a humiliation for me, a disgrace. People are trying to put me 'under' them. They want me to be inferior. They want to crush me as if it's something personal, like someone who is seeking revenge. And I am frightened. I don't want that to happen, and I'll try my best not to let that happen. Thus, I need to make some sacrifices. This is why I no longer will visit Fuwa during this time (until late November). I have to dedicate my time to studies. Please, don't come with any of that bullshit: "Oh, you don't need to be always 1st place; let others do it as well" I'm not asking for advices; I just want you guys to understand my situation. I do think Amane's route was the best route, but I don't really like her. Not her personality, nor her body (Kotori has the best body). But that's just like, my opinion. Enjoy your woman women.

The +18 version is called EX and it features three extra routes. However, there is an all-ages version featuring those three routes, called ME. Both are still being translated. If you want to play the game right now, go for the original all-ages version. If you want to wait for the translation to finish (it's not very far from it, I believe), I suggest you choose ME, not only because I dislike H-scenes, but also most people who like them don't like the company's H, so you'll probably not enjoy it.

Little Busters! It's true the heroines routes don't have the same quality, of for example, Rewrite. But they were still very good, specially Komari's. Actually, LB! has the best routes out of all the VNs I've played, excluding Rewrite. But the main point, this VN is wonderful because of the character development, because the feels it brings, because of how everything connects in a way you didn't expect, and also because it features friendship (I love friendship) If you haven't played it yet, you must do it.
