  1. Does it matter if the story is translated? If just the gameplay aspects are translated, is that good enough?
  2. I played the VN first, second VN I ever played as far as I remember. The VN is great, but anime is good as well though. It's not a terrible botched one that doesn't do the VN justice or anything. VN better though no doubt, especially if you like the turn-based gameplay you'll do every so often. Itsuwari no Kamen is complete shit though compared to the original. So if you think Itsuwari no Kamen is good and don't want your opinion shattered, I'd recommend not playing or watching the original. Don't really want to go into a long diatribe as to why, but effectively they turned a story-driven original where things progress steadily with decent characters who grow (and die), into a slice of life sequel with weak and boring characters, no connection to the original and nothing happens ever.
  3. Yeah I just got Rakuen and tested for myself. Moving the files even one folder up from where it was installed gives me the same error. I can't find anything in my registry though so it must be stored somewhere else, but I'm not sure where. Running the game exe directly works though, just not the bootmenu. You need to put the game in the same path as wherever you installed it though Chuphen, that'll definitely fix it. Alternatively, reinstall.
  4. Very likely to do with registry. Games can often list the install directory in there, and look at your registry to check whether the game is installed or not. If it can't find it, then it errors like that. Just keep your saves, re-0install the game and put them back in. If you can't download it again for whatever reason, the other option would be adding the registry keys in yourself. Unfortunately I don't have any Grisaia game installed so I can't check it myself. Someone else could be kind enough to though.
  5. Lol don't worry about it, you don't need to include me. I do it for fun, not for thanks. Still couldn't figure out the script system though, easily the most advanced I've ever seen.
  6. Because it's a flash game. Literally, it's made with Adobe Flash. It's one massive flash game, and basically all video. Videos are always huge. It's the same deal with School Days, just that that's not made with flash. Over 12GB, and is only 800x600.
  7. Best brawl is up though, why waste time on a worse part of the game? O.o
  8. Hope you end it somewhere sensible, like not right in the middle of a scene.
  9. Well it says that "people who believe in wishes in this age are stupid." Everyone can interpret it differently as to why, that's sorta the point of philosophical and poetic language isn't it? he's replying to something/someone though and we don't have the whole rest of the scene/story to judge exactly why he's like that. It's pretty much just exposition on the character and how they think about life. Seems like they're maybe expressing faithlessness, hopelessness, and maybe just tired with life in some aspect. There's no reason to dream, no reason to reach for the stars, your dreams won't come true. There's no magic or miracles in the world etc etc etc. Like Parallel Pain said, it depends on the character and story, it all shapes how you'd interpret that line for that character.
  10. He's just following on the meaning. They're stupid because they still have wishes in this age. In a previous age they wouldn't be stupid you assume, otherwise you wouldn't specify "this age." So, useful in previous ages, not this age -> "outdated."
  11. They're DXT5 DDSs. I just don't know how to work out the image dimensions to get it right. What game is this from? EDIT: No, I'm wrong. They're not DXT5s, they're some other kind of format. I don't know.
  12. If I had a gold nova or lower account I'd play, but RIP no money.
  13. But those of us that do, we have one hell of a time. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  14. Back to Global bois after losing it due to inactivity, and then getting set back to eagle. Easy. Was very quick back to SMFC, but then multiple <300 hour accounts in every game, many clearly hacking. Almost no game is even, they're stomps one way or another, rare for one team to reach 8 rounds. Still got back to the 0.5%. No rank shift will hold me down.
  15. Had the game since beta and my best rank is 17. Eat that.
  16. Awful starters in terms of looks this time around. The only one worth taking is the cat.
  17. I wouldn't take it either. English is too useful. I couldn't give up the world's lingua franca. Any other language and you're screwed if you want to travel or consume most media, as the first language someone would translate to would be English.
  18. Would need some more code I think. It's probably going to do with scope, and the completion you print is likely the one you set at the init, where you set it to 0. Or maybe it is working but you're just setting it back to 0 each time you try to display it. Edit: After playing with it a bit, yeah it's to do with scope. This works for me in my script file: http://pastebin.com/HpXcv9Ur The variable can be set and accessed from your script if you put the screen in your script file directly. You can set it in your init python section too and it works all the same. If you want it inside the screens file instead though, you'll probably want to look at using Return(completion) rather than SetVariable and then in your script you can use completion = renpy.call_screen(" P_tube_options00"). It depends how all your stuff is setup. I think the easiest way is just put the screen in your script file.
  19. There is, the Greeks had it, because it's true democracy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sortition To them, what we have isn't democracy at all. The idea of a professional politician with vested interested is directly counter to the idea of democracy. " It is accepted as democratic when public offices are allocated by lot; and as oligarchic when they are filled by election. "
  20. I think ChuShinGura is great, so that's my vote.
  21. Ah here we go. I went the route of extracting all of her text in the game and then looking for 刀 references. I found this line: 「いいかしら? この子、わっちの太刀をまともに食らってるのに躱そうともしないのよ?」[p] So she calls her sword a tachi right there, but that's the only one. It's either just 刀 or 長い刀 everywhere else.
  22. Yeah, fine, just saying the word naginata is used many times throughout interactions with her, so they could've seen the text and gotten it from that, without the visuals showing otherwise.
  23. I know, it's entirely different to the wiki. So not a naginata, even though it says 長刀, it'll just mean exactly what it says, a long katana. I guess that's where the page went wrong? They must have just seen the word.
  24. She uses a longsword. I don't remember it perfectly anymore since it's been ages since I played the game, but I do remember everyone being surprised that she wielded a longer-than-normal sword with one hand. When she gets serious, she switches to using both hands: Here the protag uses the word "naginata," but I guess it means more literally just "a long katana," about the length of a fishing rod: Call it whatever you want though, it's a long sword she normally uses with one hand which is surprising, and when serious goes to 2 hands.
