  1. Have you given up making a patch for the original game then? I can't really tell. EDIT: Ah nevermind, runs in a browser? No worries then.
  2. Is it just me that found the article confusing as fuck starting half way down? And I already do a lot of this stuff.
  3. Mm, I'm not sure about that text. I checked a bunch of script files (about 3/4 of the main script) and only saw that line once in the very first script, so I don't know if it's really been repeatedly a lot, especially if you're near the beginning... I don't remember the translation being that bad. Looking over it again yeah it is a bit "uhhh." Shin Koihime is kind of a re-telling, but because of how they laid it out it's a bit different. In the original you take the place of Liu Bei, and it only has the Shu story. In Shin, it has all 3 faction (Shu, Wei and Wu) as well as an "Other" smaller story. In Shin you don't take the place of a leader, or any character, so all the 3 leaders (Liu Bei, Cao Cao and Sun Quan) are in the game. Shin has a tonne more characters over the original as well, combined with 3(4) stories instead of one, it's soooo much bigger than the original. I don't want to spoil the endings, but in my opinion the ending of Shin is fucking terribly boring, while the original ending was good. In the subsequent game BaseSon released called Sengoku Koihime, which is just like Koihime Musou, but set in Japan's Sengoku era rather than China, the protagonist is Kazuto's nephew, and at the start it shows you how Shin was like "the true route" as it were, since Kazuto lives with him uncle and his xx wives, all the characters from Shin. It wouldn't destroy your understanding of it or anything though, it's only mentioned briefly. BaseSon are making a sequel (supposed to be an actual sequel I believe?) to Shin, which is due out next year, so reading Shin might be recommended for that as well. As well as any other games made in the future. There isn't a re-translation of Koihime Musou as far as I know, but a group have been translating Shin for a long time now, and getting close to finishing it (hopefully). Will be released by MangaGamer too it seems when it's done. You might want to wait for/follow that.
  4. Almost no anime is good enough to have any worthwhile spoilers, nor do almost any VNs.
  5. Been waiting to have a look at this. Not unlocked for another 9 hours for me though.
  6. Did you check https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/2ahsv8/grisaia_system_voice/ ?
  7. They're actually required to throw it out and not read it. There have been massive legal problems, with people sending in scripts, then a movie maybe resembling the script coming out, and then the studio getting sued by the person who sent the script in, saying that they stole it. So no producer or movie maker in Hollywood will even look at your script, because it creates a liable mess, just by reading it. You'll get responses like this: http://imgur.com/a/2UPSs
  8. Nah. Combining those scripts would be a massive pain. I'll leave the regex stuff to Doddler.
  9. I doubt I can. I can't debug Unity, it's all horrible because it's interpreted. Plus it's 64-bit which Olly can't do, and I hate IDA. Good on that guy if he can though.
  10. All the text is encrypted on the Steam version, makes trying to take it out and patch the original a lot more difficult. :x
  11. Ah wow, I didn't realise the little pics were gone from lines. O: I did just notice that all the character sprites have been made lighter though. Someone re-compressed them so they've lost some contrast. You probably wouldn't even notice though so it's not a big deal, it's not a huge amount. Some lines have incorrect character sprites showing though, like characters showing their happy face while in the orig they've finished and gone back to passive, I don't know if that'll affect anything.
  12. Feels very I wish they'd stop using "there's no use." Certainly mechanical. The characters are lacking some personality, especially Suguha. From the Japanese there's no way way he'd say "According to your information" and certainly wouldn't refer to a girl he liked and got rejected by as "Miss." No one does that in English... "I was rejected by Miss Sophie." Sounds like a fucking teacher, not a classmate. Oh well, there is no use. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Hopefully they'll get settled into the writing as it goes along and it'll improve over time.
  13. That's exactly what I'm doing. \o/ I notice the game doesn't play animations async either. Some lines get really delayed if they have like an angry animation play first before the text. The whole animation plays out, then it loads the text line. In the original they play together.
  14. Oop, found a mistake, referring to Asano as a "he." Twice. They've removed a lot of stuff even partially relating to 18+, which is pretty interesting. Like Yanagisawa asking Hinako to come to the club room, because he doesn't have money for a hotel. They didn't cut the audio though. You still get the implication anyway with the lines coming after I think, so maybe it was superfluous. Also they removed a couple lines referring to Christmas as being a night that lovers spend together. That one was excusable to me though, because we usually associate it with family instead.
  15. A bunch of options changed: Automatically moving the mouse to select options/choices and font selection is gone, and the always in front option was replaced with the language switch. They fixed the window size though, so you don't get that small line of blank white pixels around the right/bottom in the original, and removed the title bar, so the whole window is smaller. I don't know why they made narration yellow? It's normally white for narration. Fuwa speaks in yellow, so did they change her too? Not why they would change a neutral white into yellow. EDIT: Oh nevermind, everyone speaks in yellow apparently.
  16. You don't only need to link Japanese stuff either, there are massive subreddits for it: https://www.reddit.com/r/gonewildaudio/ https://www.reddit.com/r/audiocandy/ And all the subreddits linked to those, for example.
  17. Nah way. Arterial is better. More optional content, more endgame content, and story-wise Arterial is better than any other Eushully game. Early branching routes which are completely different to eachother, and the game isn't short or anything. Madou was also good. The battle gameplay wasn't amazingly involved or anything, but it had city-building and an alchemy system. The story and characters were good, that's the main reason though. La Dea certainly wasn't bad either. Involved combat, some decent re-playability with bonus NG+ stuff, and the story was fine. Other than those I agree with you though. Always hoping the next game will be good. ~Fingers crossed~
  18. Saving the .eri in erichan after editing them. It has "Quickly compress" enabled by default, turn it off.
