  1. Torrents have a checksum already included, and your client should drop parts and redownload them if they don't fit the checksum. So most problems with downloaderrors are on the downloaders side and not on the other side. Unless the creator of the torrent screwed up...
  2. 1) They need to implement the Steam stuff 2) It's free to play, so unless Valve doesn't allow them to offer it for free you won't have to pay for the new translated version... Not that you can't always read the older translation
  3. Didn't even took a month until the game was greenlight (4th dec batch)

    Tabletop Games

Hm, I'm playing tabletops a little bit too... Our round started a couple years ago (2002 or so?) with DSA, more or less the german equivalent to D&D. Same GM for the whole campaign we played through, that poor guy... Took us only, uh, 5? years, with one meeting per week for 6h in general. Yeah, we tend to discuss what out characters plan to do too much ^^ After that it was some smaller systems, some beta testing for new systems (we know some people from the industry, helps with getting all those books sometimes cheaper ^^), and we tried our luck at the then new Starwars D20 and their official free campaign... Didn't do much of that one though. Had a year of almost not meeting for tabletops then. For the last two years it's now either Shadowrun (me as GM, waiting for the 5th edition ruleset now to get rid of those 4th ed broken rules) or Savage Worlds as Ruleset in our own open fantasy setting. Luckily I'm not the GM for that... Oh, and every year on Halloween it's one evening of Call of Cthulhu. Arkham Horror is btw great too, but starts to be a PITA when you play with 7 people and two to three of the big addons...
  6. It's a kinetic VN. You only need to get through the minigames to go forward in the story
  7. Would put three not so much known anime into the round: Simoun Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto Stratos 4 As for Best/Good/whatever: Taste is as always subjective But I like those three...
  8. The full list of movie files: end_sa00.e17 ca 91MB end_so00.e17 ca 91MB end_tu00.e17 ca 91MB end_yu00.e17 ca 91MB ever17.e17 ca 91.MB MOV_END.e17 ca 142MB mov01a.e17 ca 3.5MB mov02a.e17 ca 3.7MB sdr640.e17 ca 1MB Check if the files have the correct size too. And if you still have the torrent running in your client do a Force Recheck on the files, to see if you downloaded all parts of them correctly. Also: How nested is your folder? As in how many subfolders in subfolders do you have, like C:\bla\bla\bla\etc and how LONG is that foldersystem. There is a limit how nested your folders can be, so that if your Ever17 folder is too much into the foldertree the system cannot just find the movie folder.
  9. It could just be a shared library problem, since MS dropped some deprecated functions in some of the libraries you get directly with windows - especially on Win8 64bit, where the whole 16bit modus was dropped. Want to use a program, that's compiled for 16bit? Yeah, you're unlucky. Using a 32bit program, that's using a 16bit shared library? Same. The program could run, but you'll get problems at some point... There's no way to say more about this though without a live-debug of the problem, but I guess it's a problem like that, since you mention that it crashes, when that special scene starts. The compatibility Modus of Win8 64bit can't help you there. That one doesn't support 16bit too.
  10. That VNs are "books" more than games is a fact most people most likely forget. They tell a story after all with words. Backgrounds and sprites are there to get rid of all the need you have in books to describe the area where the story takes place, which characters are there, their expressions etc. Sure you still have some of those elements in the text, but in the end you focus more on what's said and thought and felt. I'd think it's more a calculation of how long the VN should be - in read time - and how much text that is for an average reader. Writer starts writing the story, but then hits the target length not completely. What's easier? Just adding some repetitive description of what you see on the screen anyway in the BG/sprites or adding more plot, which can give you the problem of overshooting the target length (by a lot) while being sure that the new plot elements don't stick out like a sore thumb? That's most likely a reason of cost: Use a background which you need at another place anyway and is thus drawn already, or draw a new one for most likely only a short scene of 3 or 4 sentences?
  11. Did you install the East Asian Language pack? That one is needed to display japanese fonts. If yes and you still can't see the fonts you'll maybe have to add additional japanese fonts to your windows/fonts folder.
