Welcome! I'm pretty new as well. I recommend reading Steins;Gate if you haven't. I hope we can be friends!

Thank you! now i know where to start! how does kanji work? i mean iv'e heard that some people learned quite a few kanji like hundreds and then didn't learn grammar and had to learn all over again. so is there a wrong way to learn kanji? the only reason i ask is that i don't want to waste like 6 months of studying and find that i learnt everything wrong. any help would be really appreciated.

I have a serious question. I'm trying to start learning Japanese but i seem to have come to a screeching halt and i really haven't even started. I suppose my problem is where do i start? do i start with kanji? kanji and grammar? what about hiragana and katakana? I've been getting really confused on this so if someone could please help point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it. also i hope I'm posting this in the relevant thread I'm new here so I'm still learning please don't hate me.lol and last thing, my goal would be to become fluent in the language so i want to be able to speak and read and write. i hope that's a realistic goal.

Is it really a good idea to start by learning Kanji? in Tae Kims guide he even says not to start with it. I'm getting mixed feelings about learning Kanji first.

5. Persona 3 4. Far Cry 3(It's a FPS i know but it's amazing) 3. Final Fantasy X 2. Jade Empire 1. Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen This is in order. -
I can actually believe that. i played a few games that i would consider a VN but never really realized it was a genre.
-
It was kinda funny how i found VNs. i was watching crunchyroll one day and there was an ad for steins gate, so i thought it looked really awesome. I'm somewhat of a sci fi buff so i decided to check it out. i never heard of VNs till then but i think i found my new favorite hobby.

I have watched the Clannad anime, is it worth to read the VN as well?

Thanks for all the welcomes everybody! you all made me feel really welcome! i look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi, I'm really new here. I really like VNs but im really new so if you have any recommendations i would like to hear them. About me: Hmmm i never really know what to say but i feel that since this is an introduction i should say something. I love anime and manga, the genres i like really vary i like pretty much every genre. Like i already said i am new to VNs but am really enjoying them so recommendations are most welcome. I'm also an avid gamer so yeah..... I hope i fit in here and make friends.(sorry if there are a ton of grammatical errors in this.)
