  1. Hey there! Welcome to the forums! Hope to see you around more often What and when was your first VN? Got any favorites?
  2. You should try checking out Narcissu & its prequel. It's a kinetic novel but it's one of my favorites. The music is fantastic, the art is great, and the story is amazing. Well, at least it was to me the first time I read through it xD I definitely recommend it
  3. Ooh, sounds like interesting. Count me in! My timezone is gmt -8. As for what VN to stream, I think we should start with something short first as a test run (i.e. Planetarian, Mirai no Kimi to; Rin ga Uta, Narcissu, etc.) and then move on to the longer VNs like Little Busters. Also, that way it won't overwhelm those that are completely new to VNs that happen to watch (which I doubt will happen, but you never know).
  4. Welcome! Another Narcissu fan, excellent! What did you think of the end? Have you played Side 2nd or Side 3rd?
  5. The remake news has actually gotten me interested in playing the original (which I've been avoiding because the art didn't appeal to me). It also got me wondering if, like Clephas mentioned earlier, there will be a translation project for this and if this will lead to Type-Moon remaking some of their other games, like Kagetsu Tohya. Personally, I see this as a way of catering to long-time Type-Moon fans and gathering the interest of new, potential fans. But I'm not sure if I think of this as a good or bad thing since I'm not a big fan
  6. Hey there! Welcome to the forums What was your first VN? Have a favorite? When did you first start reading them?
  7. I would like to see more otoge or games for the PSP translated since there aren't many of those. My list includes: Arcana Famiglia Koichoco (PC & Portable) Amnesia Black Wolves Saga Gekka Ryouran Romance Nanatsuiro Drops Flyable CandyHeart Kimi no Nagori wa Shizuka ni Yurete just to name a few. I would pay money to see this happen.
  8. After surfing through some of the tags on tumblr, I came across a link to this article. Just as the title of this thread says, Type-Moon's Tsukihime is getting a remake! Not sure if there will be any changes to the story or if it's just the artwork being changed. Also, afaik there hasn't been a confirmed release date yet. Some images: What do you guys think? I'd like to hear an opinion from any Type-Moon fans out there. Are you looking forward to it? Do you think this is a good thing or bad thing?
  9. Maybe they mixed it up with someone else? Aaeru's been mia for a while now and she's also doing DCIII, so I doubt it. Only way to confirm is to wait for her to come back, I guess.
  10. Hey there & welcome to the forums! When did you first start reading VNs? I started in 2010 but haven't read many either orz Is it New Year's already in your part of the States? I live in the west coast so it's still New Year's Eve over here.
  11. Hello & welcome to the forums! When did you first start reading VNs? I enjoyed SAO too! Well at least the first half. The ALO arc wasn't as good imo.
  12. Happy New Year! Though it's not exactly New Year just yet in the part of the States where I live orz
  13. Hey there! Great to have you on the forums. And another Key fan, yay! What was your first VN? Have a favorite genre?
  14. So i've been downloading other VNs to stock before preparing myself for the worst... I felt the same way when I first played through side 2nd. I kept putting it off for the longest time because I knew the end was inevitable T_T
  15. hey there & welcome! That's quite a list of skills you got there. How long have you been learning Japanese and programming? Great to have you on board
  16. Like Alxarim said, there's Koihime Musou. It was translated by MangaGamer and released back in May. There's also Brighter than the Dawning Blue, Princess Lover (the title pretty much gives it away lol), Alice Parade, and Aiyoku no Eustia. I'm sure there's plenty more out there, but those are the only ones that I can think of off the top of my head right now
  17. Same here. Have you started kanji yet? I've tried my hand at the grammar but it's hard for me to balance the grammar with the vocab at the same time orz Wow, 200? That's a lot! I know about 50-ish. For some of them I learned through mnemonics, others I kept seeing it over and over again, especially in titles of anime, manga, VNs, drama CDs, etc. Is the annot player easy to use? Been considering whether or not I should use it since I heard it's not exactly user-friendly and takes a while to set up.
  18. Thanks for the warm welcomes! I'm sure I'll enjoy it here :)/> Even though I started in 2010, I haven't read that many (maybe 6 or 7? not entirely sure) so that's why I consider myself new, heheh. How far have you gotten? I can read hiragana and katakana and a few kanji, although very slowly and it takes me a while before I can figure out what a sentence or word is supposed to mean. I also know some vocabulary, mostly picked up from watching anime AHAHA.
  19. Harroharro~ I'm quite new to visual novels. I signed up a while ago but never posted until now ^^;; I started out as a huge fan of anime and manga. I became interested in VNs in 2007, right around the time that Little Busters was released. I saw videos on Youtube and several blog posts about it & I really wanted to play, but I didn't know any Japanese or that fan translations for VNs even existed, so I didn't play it. Instead, I started "researching" about visual novels, mostly through following blogs. Then in 2010, I played my very first visual novel, Narcissu (both the first one and Side 2nd) when it was released in English. The artwork, the story, the soundtrack -- everything about it just completely blew me away & after finishing it, I got hooked to VNs. Unfortunately though, since 2010 I haven't read that many visual novels due to lack of translations. I'm currently learning Japanese, though very passively due to lack of time irl. I've been thinking about one day translating VNs, particularly otome games (I actually have a whole list of which games I would like to translate), but since my Japanese skills are very minimal, I guess I'll have to wait a while before that actually happens orz. Hmmmm, that turned out to be a longer post than I intended. Well here's to getting along together~
