  1. Just wondering how dose one learn to translate Visual Novels

    Here's how:

    Learn Japanese,

    once you have learned japanese,

    learn to read in japanese,

once you learn to read in japanese,

    learn to speak in Japanese,

once you learn to speak in Japanese,

    learn to write in Japanese,

once you learn to write in Japanese,

repeat until confident with knowledge for about 3-5 years,

    once confident with knowledge,

    go to japan,

learn more by speaking to native japanese people in japanese for a few years,

once you have gone to japan to talk to the natives in japanese,

start up a group with people who have more knowledge than you in what you could have been doing besides learning japanese,

    once you have that team,

try to find a visual novel you all agree on doing,

if you can't agree on one,

    just do it!!!,

then once you start progress after having anal sex,

don't notify people you are doing it,

cause you might drop out halfway since you have no experience in translating a japanese visual novel,

once you have finished the translation,

get your ass raped with a C&D and that's when you know you're successful,

    The end.

This information may not be correct.

    Now back on topic.

    Bittersweet_Fools.jpg

Dang that image is small, anyway this is the project page for my translation of Bittersweet Fools, the first visual novel by Minori. This is a one man project though I am looking for help with proofreading at that stuff. Oh, and I should mention that the security on the original game was too strong so I'm remaking the game in another engine and it will be available on Windows, Android, IOS, Browser and Mac. If you've got any questions at all then by all means, ask away.

If you really want to, i could have a look at the engine and get the scripts for you.

EDIT: Also you'll be in big legal issues if you do Android, IOS, Browser and Mac ports without minori's permission, also with rebuilding the game.

So just doing a PC patch is the only option you have, anything else will lead you to court.

  3. Are you guys having problems with A-1 or are you planning to release big update in future? We haven't seen progress in A-1 for a while after it hit 54 and you even got translator for Azumi, so i'm little curious. Oh and is A-1 also getting uncen patch?

Sorry if these we only stupid questions.

Not all translators can have a free schedule, take that into consideration. Also a lot hasn't been updated yet, so just wait a little longer. For the A-1 uncensored patch has not been decided yet, so it might not get one at all.

  4. Thank you for your honesty. There's nothing wrong with dropping a project as long as you communicate that you're dropping the project - the real problem is when people aren't working on a project yet claim to be working on it.

Do you know the status of the other staff members on the project? Are they still active and/or intending to continue, or is the project as a whole dropped?

Don't know about the other guy who was working on the translation as well, though I'm still very active.... though i'm just a hacker and image editor, not much for me to contribute to the project.

  5. Just send them back to me once done so i can reinsert the text, also unknown by a lot of people, a lot of engines allow you to just create a folder called **** (name it after the file that housed the text) and put the modified scripts into that folder and the game will play no sweat, so no need to worry about creating a .mpk file just yet.

  6.

    data.xp3.sig open by notepad

    -- SIGNATURE - SHA256/PSS/RSA --
    E7aOnk17/Y/3jknbXeVoqN/AD8dTmknieqY1ShFiJGl0whtwoAOu0/j6XfRpr/II

    qicYj59ND0+drV+e2WHzPw0+0i4iG9O8WsuWxouaOxI=

and i can`t open to data.xp3 cause file size is to big by notepad

I was saying you could open the .sig file in notepad, for the .xp3 file you'll have to open it with something else.
