  1. Update! The first post has been updated with details about the project and an update about what exactly we need at present moment! Thank you!
  2. Definitely, I think it'll be a lot of fun. I've been writing up scenes to get a feel for the protagonist and he's a hell of a lot of fun to write so far. But that's besides the point. I sent you a message! Message me back if you'd like. Thanks a bunch!
  3. It's more than fine. Thank you for the support, we'll need a lot of it. If you know anyone available, it'd be helpful as a reference so we can start pursuing artists.
  4. Update! Helvetica Standard has joined the team and we need an artist! Check the first post for details!
  5. All amazing advice and I replied to your PM. Hope to hear back from you soon
  6. Definitely, but again, it's an idea that I'm not even sure where to go with. Maybe I'll write something else up when it comes to a synopsis that has a little bit more material to it, since that was just a short little thing I threw together. However, thank you for the advice. I'm always looking for advice on, well, anything I did think it was an interesting premise myself, it's why I decided mentioned it above other ideas. I think the subject of ethical hacking is something so rarely touched on by modern media that it's pretty fresh. The idea of narrating the coordination of a DoS attack or the protagonist attempting social engineering, hell, just cyberwarfare in general is a really cool premise.
  7. Upon your suggestion, I went into a little bit more depth when it comes to my ideas. It's the second edit on the page if you'd like to read it.
  8. Awesome. If you are able to do that, just let me know, and I'd love to have you aboard. That'd be cool if it works out. Really? Well, thank you. I don't often get that so that's a nice change.
  9. First of all, thank you both for your suggestions, I appreciate both I took both of your pieces of advice and added some additional notes about my 'qualifications' you might say. How long I've been writing, what kind of accomplishments I've achieved, etc. etc. Thank you very much for rooting for me and for at least attempting to figure out something to help me out with. Again, I really appreciate it.
  10. I do believe I'm good at writing, I just don't want to make it seem like I'm boasting or anything.
  11. THE NEXUS PROJECT Hello everyone! I checked in with you just a little while as a writer looking for projects to work on. Somehow I stumbled my way into an accomplished programmer and designer named Helvetica Standard who is currently working on the famed OELVN Violet Hill. We got to talking and came up with an idea for a visual novel. A project of sorts. One we believe has a lot of potential. The Nexus Project tells the story of Keiji Nakamura, a childhood prodigy. He learns at an extremely fast rate and his prowess with technology is second to none. But you wouldn’t know that by just looking at him. All he does is sit around on his computer all day, doing nothing. His parents, thinking that he's wasting his potential, transfer him to a prestigious boarding school. Thinking he's finally got some peace and quiet after a stressful move, a cyber terrorist cell codenamed 'The Nexus' begins to attack the people of Japan. Keiji, being one of the only people in the world who knows how to stop them, has to make a choice to either sit there and possibly let his world plunge into darkness or take a stand against this threat and realize his destiny. So far we have two people on the project that will be sticking with it the whole way through. Sammeh: The one and only. I will be the project leader and the head writer for the VN. I am more than willing to hear all ideas when it comes to story as I wish this to be a collaborative project. I have been writing for eleven years and have received numerous awards and have been approached by different publications during that time. Helvetica Standard: The master programmer. He designed the logos for this game and studio that you see in this thread and he will be doing the entirety of the design. He’s currently heading up an OELVN project of his own called Violet Hill and has a lot of experience in the field, having been programming for two years and has been designing the entirety of his working life. Genre: Thriller, mystery, and romance. It takes place mainly in a highschool in the present day. Why did we start this project?: Honestly, I just love visual novels, so I put out a casting call and Helv was the first person to answer seriously. After that I found he was very serious about the project and obviously so am I so we clicked immediately as a team. We want to contribute to the industry as another OELVN that makes its mark. Is it free?: It’s free. While its overall length and the work put into it might indicate otherwise, we will be releasing the project as free. Length/Scope of the Project: The project will be a massive undertaking for this team. We are aiming for a story that will be 35+ hours in length with five routes and a couple bonus routes. The writing for the story is not even close to being final or finished, but this is the plan thus far. What We’re Looking For: Anything, honestly. However, particularly, the one thing we need most of all is an artist. Unfortunately, until we actually have an artist on the project with a decent amount of skill and can make the commitment of working on a VN we can’t really move forward with development. This means any CG/BG artist is welcome. This is a top priority at the moment, to find an artist. What we also need is a composer for the project, Q.C., and editors. Contact Information: The easiest way to reach us is through the following outlets. Email: [email protected] Skype: Weskron Fuwanovel: Sammeh or Helvetica Standard LemmaSoft: Sammeh So in essence we are in dire need of an artist, BG or CG, and we can use anything else at the moment right now. Please contact us if you wish to know more.
  12. Thanks for the welcome back, Nahi. I like the new avatar Best thing I've ever read on 4chan was Anon works IT. Part 1 and Part 2.
  13. Wow! Thanks for all the recommendations, everyone. I would like to clarify while that I would like H-scenes, they are not a deal breaker. Notice that I did put down Steins;Gate on my list of ones that I enjoy that also apply. While I am a bit pervy, I'm not that bad... ">.> <.<" I'll definitely try Symphonic Rain, Rewrite, Little Busters, Princess Evangile, Sharin no Kuni, and try out all of Decay's suggestions. It seems that I have not begun to scratch the surface. Awesome. I love that. Also, Dokken, love Dragon's Crown. Good choice.
  14. ...Well. That was simple. Of course I looked at the Da Capo series and I didn't really like the art, but maybe I was just being harsh. I'll take another look. I've seen a lot of recommendations for Key titles before, never played one, and I think I'd like to give it a shot sometime. Never heard of Ef, but I'll give it a look. And I've seen Hoshizora no Memoria but heard mixed things about it. Is it decent? That's the issue here. There are actually quite a few with my tastes, but, they're not always good.
  15. Hey there Fuwanovel, It's been a goddamn while. Been reading all this time, just haven't been posting. Glad to be back Now, to get to the point of this thread, I have a specific genre of VN I like to read, not to say I won't go out of these boundaries and read other stuff, but I like to read this sort of thing. Rather than give a long paragraph explaining what it is, I'll put bullet points. A couple of these don't have to apply, but the majority should. •Takes place in school or at least, the protagonists are young. •Good art style, I can't get through VNs with bad art. •Happy endings, even if the plot itself is depressing. •An good or at least an interesting plotline. •Romance is a must in some fashion •Slice of life, but also can be action. •H-scenes would be appreciated. •English translated. Now, you may think that's not all that uncommon, but here are the actual VNs pertaining to this style that I have read. If My Heart Had Wings. Grisaia no Kajitsu. G Senjo no Maou. Fate/Stay Night. Katawa Shoujo. Cross Channel. Ayakashibito. Steins;gate. Deardrops. Kira Kira. Majikoi. Comyu. Have I exhausted all english versions of this? And if I have, what should I go onto? Thanks so much, Sam!
  16. Jesus, how's everyone doing? Been about 200 pages since I last checked in on this place.
  17. Holy shit, I'm emotional. Majikoi is fucking translated! WOO!
  18. Hello everyone, Just checking in 100 pages later.
  19. Dowolf_SavedUs.Majikoi Thanks a bunch, Dowolf. And to everyone else here who helped work on it. We all really appreciate it.
  20. Trying to get Ayakashibito to work how I want it to has been... a journey, at the very least. Three months in the making. Downloaded this sometime in July, then the Aya.bat file wouldn't work, so I downloaded the new one, but that wouldn't work. Worked on it for almost a full night and gave up on it for a few weeks. Found it was a pathing issue and had to go do some coding things. After that, I still could not get it to work. I tried a bunch of things and eventually was able to fix it, but now I've encountered another issue. Whenever I start the game up and it goes to fullscreen, the actual resolution of the game is incredibly small. Probably about 800 x 600. I looked this up to see what to do and I tried going into the resolution settings, going to the video card control panel, changing the resolution to 1200 x 768 and applying it, setting it to full screen stretch, and going back to native. But even then it will not work. Is there any fix around this? My computer is an HP laptop and I have an intel graphics card.
  21. Pierce the heavens, tho. Relevant topics with Oiacz. Next up, is Rage Against the Machine hurting our children's brains? Personally, I agree with most of Kami's suggestions except Monotogari, as Ariel said, 3weird5them. I'd also add Hajime no Ippo, as it's a great sports anime and maybe Angel Beats! as it has a pretty good story, and because some anime have good stories in the context of anime but not literature, so, eh.
  22. Ah, fun! Another TBF fan. Yeah, I've been friends with Pat for a while now, but I'm one of the fabled few. Very real people that are exactly what they're like on camera in real life. All of them are cool dudes to hang out with. I'd agree with that sentiment about Cowboy Bebop.
