  1. yeah, maybe ill get lucky with that, but first I need to learn perfect Japanese Do 2d girls count? xD If not it is discrimination of people who are only into 2d!
  2. Well might as well tell since some people could have already guessed from my other posts. I would like to say I am from "United Tribes and Kingdoms of Unlimited Power of Bohemian nation" but sadly the name is plain boring Czech Republic And nobody cares about us anymore, first communists stole everything from everyone and then after revolution random people stole those stolen things from communists and left for Bahamas or Seychelles. And now people have to steal from others as a daily job so state can pay social benefits to gypsies that invaded our country and countries around here too, but those people's job actually is steal, not only metaphorically like others, they actually go and steal everything you left unlocked (or even some locked things), and that's why most of these countries experience a lot of racism against them. My first mountain bike got stolen by them when I was kid, they just cut the chain So everyone hates them and Americans can never understand it, this isn't racism because we can't accept their look, its because we can't accept their lifestyle (i.e. steal everything that can be moved, hell they steal rails from railroads! From my friend that has internet provider company, they steal optic cables! Or actually if you have fenced area, they steal the fence! And then what is behind it. Actually sometimes when you have those spiked wires on fence to prevent people from going over, they steal those! How do they transport them we can never know. I am now glad I live in center of city because they can't try it here, too may people would see it even at night. But outside, they are capable of stealing LOCKS! Well anyway enough of hate against my country, hopefully I will be able to move to some Asian country, South Korea seems nice (well Japan would be awesome but its hard to get long visa there)
  3. Oh yeah, I also plan doing those Touhou games for a long time, but never got to try to find them, if you could add them prepatched it would be so awesome.
  4. In the end I found version with sprites http://www.mediafire.com/?1pyzy8dlbzb7w5r For hoshimemo [星空のメモリア CG rip] search worked - it was the first result... (http://test.kiss-sub.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=58928) However I remember having problem few weeks ago finding sprites for http://vndb.org/v7633 and I never found them (maybe I should just learn how to rip them myself) Well cant wait for kii.re to be available update: actually I tried searching it now with this easy string [マテリアルブレイブ CG rip] and got some results, it says: bg + char + ev + sys I will try to download it if it is what I need. So I guess this is the correct search string
  5. Hi, I need little help, I am trying to download Hoshizora no Memoria rip including all images and sprites from the game (I have that one for little busters for example, it was on english torrent), but I didn't find hoshimemo in English. What is the keyword to use in japanese to search for those files? What I mean for example if I want to search for full game CG unlock saves, I search for example "星空のメモリア" "CG・回想100%" (which usually brings me to sagaoz). What do I type when I want the game sprite rip? update: I was able to find it under 再Rip tag but doesn't that mean just that it was ripped again?
  6. very hard to say, I am new to all things japanese, I started with anime, vns, vocaloids and other stuff like that 10 to 12 months ago. But I did some research just now, Miku was released at 31st of August 2007 and according to google the most popularity she received in October 2007 (source: http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=%E5%88%9D%E9%9F%B3%E3%83%9F%E3%82%AF -seems like whole population of japan that month googled her name, never even close to that number of the searches got it after that) The game itself was released at 31st of December that year, explaining why it has little "end of the year" theme in story. So the first game started developtment probably right when she was the most popular.
  7. excellent topics, however I will wait till invertmouse posts those in separate topics, because I have so much to say about even these that it would end up as multi-page essay if I were to talk about all of them xD
  8. Well 5gb free and then you can get like 100gb for 5$ and more and more if you need up to terabytes but then you pay a lot. click for essay about file sharing in last years xD (damn me, I just keep writing and don't know where to stop, anyway its not as long but I didn't expect it to be as long xD) Well I like to help as I can when it comes to visual novels, These are the only I have patched, are not on fuwa and are not licensed. I hope to help with some translation when I actually learn Japanese but for now I'm damedame so I'm glad I can help like this.
  9. I like these topics, I'm looking forward to your next "Is [...............] necessary" topic
  10. Ok, uploaded, I also made 8 non-spoiling screens from both games just like you post on fuwanovel (you can download the screens on imgur or google drive, if you download the whole folder it will make it .zip on both imgur and google drive) So Mirai no Kimi to, Subete no Uta ni 未来のキミと、すべての歌に― http://vndb.org/v1560 8 screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/8MXdj DOWNLOAD: https://drive.google.com/#folders/0BylWuAJokVXMSEU0TDVEWXhMT00 (miku.zip, download it, check how it works and put on the torrent, the file I think can be downloaded 200 times so might serve as placeholder for a moment) Rin ga Utau, Mirai no Neiro 鈴が歌う、未来の音色― http://vndb.org/v2505 8 screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/7zz5n DOWNLOAD: https://drive.google.com/#folders/0BylWuAJokVXMSEU0TDVEWXhMT00 (rin.zip, same as for the miku one, 200 is I think the limit on google)
  11. Mediafire is now crap, without paying I can't upload file over 200mb so I would have to split it (which is not problem) BUT "MediaFire does not support unlimited downloads of split archives and the limit for this file has been reached. MediaFire understands the need for users to transfer very large or split archives, up to 10GB per file, and we offer this service starting at $1.50 per month." So having it as links on fuwanovel page would get used pretty quickly. I moved the zipped files to my public google drive folder so ill post it here when its synced and you can download and add to torrent.
  12. So I know you have a lot of work on the site and blog so why not use us, users, to extend fuwanovel library. I know that you don't share licensed games like from JAST, valid reason. However there is loads of other games that are not licensed but not as well known, yet have English translation. And as I am sure, you just don't have enough time to browse them, finding working download, finding the English patch and patching it (I know I had a trouble finding working torrent for the original Japanese version of one of those I'm going to mention, took me about 30 minutes to even find the torrent and then it was downloading like 20 hours low speed). All that time you can save by letting us do the search and patching and only presenting you final files, I don't have quick upload so I can't share the torrent itself, but what I could do is take the working patched game (remove savefiles ofc) and upload it to some FTP in few hours, you would then only had to make the fuwanovel installer and post description and info, I can even make some screenshots for it. Not that I have some big collection myself, I can share 2 games that are not on fuwanovel (and are not licensed), but there surely more people that have those and could help you. Well anyway if you want I have these 2 and both work without installation, don't know about locale as I use Japanese one all the time. http://vndb.org/v1560 http://vndb.org/v2505 one is 400mb, the other 531, I can get it uploaded in few hours if you have a place for it (I could potentially upload it to our TS3 to the room dedicated to those vns)
  13. Welcome, I'm also new here but this is already my favorite community at this time :)/> Wha? Ive been reading your blog since like... march and I always thought you're a guy. But well nothing surprising, from 3 other girls I know who read VNs only 1 focuses on otome, one likes yuri like sonohana and the last one normal eroge, male protagonist, female heroines with sexual content. But seriously, from the way your articles are, I would have never guessed xD (I don't read those about otome games so I guess it might have been noticeable there)
  14. That's where fandiscs and fanfiction comes to play! I want Kuu route from My Girlfriend Is The President but I will have to wait till I can read Japanese or the fandisc is TLed xD
  15. Wait a moment, mass effect has multiple endings!?!?!? A game that is a little close to how visual novels can tell multiple stories might be Witcher 2, you make a decision at a certain point and the game is completely different, in different zones etc, so there are basically 2 routes in there. That is meaningful choice, not what they offer in other games. Some games at least offer you a decision close to the ending, whether it is like in KOTOR 1, or only a button press like in Deus Ex, but what I would like to see are decisions in games that change the game in half and then offer you another 10 or 15 hours of unique story for each decision, just like VNs do. And as for linear plot, why not, there is tons of games like that already, just look at most of the games in last 5 years or so, it is linear plot with cutscenes and other cinematics. What we are lacking is game with meaningfull choices, not just offer illusion of choice like games often do. As for visual novels, I like kinetic novels too (planetarian, rin ga utau etc), they are awesome but they are different from multiple route VNs, the way they feel is different and that's why it is good to have both, choosing a girl isn't just about wanting to romance her, it is trying to explore and investigate her world, her problems and experience an unique story with her, its very much about the character development inside and then you see how she changes or how even the protagonist changes. That's why in the Kinetic Novels I played there is only 1 heroine you, because it would be extremely hard to explore the character of multiple heroines in linear story, what would you do, break up with the previous one? Or just not be as close to her and still help her, but then you wouldn't see so much inside her. If you played Hoshimemo, imagine Mokoko (komomo ;P) route like that, how would you solve her problem without making her dere from tsun first. Or in little busters how would you solve Mio's problem without getting this close to her. There certainly is a possibility to do this but I think this replaying the game for unique story not affected by the endings of previous stories works very well and for linear stories, single heroine works the best.
  16. I don't get it, whats this XP you are talking about? xD
  17. Yep happened to me as well, I just went to %appdata% and created folder "FuwanViewer" (without quotes). Solved the issue. [oh also run it as admin so it can create the file itself]
  18. Welcome! I'm also new here but I've been following the blog a lot and also this community is awesome. I just wanted to say that I can't wait for Kii.re to come to public beta, because I have so much use for it Now I need to search hard for sprites from games I want just to make myself a simple wallpaper or whatever ;(
  19. Interesting talk, I can familiarize with what he said in the end about "breaking bad", for me it scales from little things like modding a game to be better even though the developers are against it, however it happens a lot in games that they do not innovate, are stuck back for example thanks to consoles (and then someone else makes the game easily look better because developers didn't) ...to much bigger things, such as the fact that I actually make my living from a non-taxable incomes in the informal economy. Because I see people around me being screwed in the "legal" job and economy I refuse to go there. All that is given by the fact that my country is so behind in everything (sometimes it seems the law system that was written after fall of communism more than 20 years ago stayed the same all the time). Everything is suddenly stuck and the innovation just isn't there here, economy, laws etc. If I look at the progress in 20th century and compare it to the first 12 years of this one, I just have to wonder where did the lust for innovation go. And I can even say that the 2 world wars brought us the biggest innovation in history, because there are no laws in war, there is no copyright infringement in war, people and nations are driven by survival, not limited to what they can make. I would love to see big companies like apple react to modern world war, would they try to sue everyone who would use their stupid patents for their own survival, for example their communication technology as a mean to save people. Would people demanding this "intellectual property" still continue to be so mad about it, knowing their whole "intellect" can be blown away by a shrapnel any day. People who wrote books in a time of war didn't write them to earn money, but to pass the legacy, share their knowledge, their "intellectual property" because they knew there were other people who could take the idea further and improve on it. Some of these authors from my country were then arrested or executed for writing these books, yet their ideas kept spreading and are what helped the innovation of society here. (I'm not saying I want world war or anything btw, just for people to realize things like that) Well I'm bit off topic but these are my opinions on this intellectual property, It is just hard to imagine where would we be now if someone in ancient Egypt patented for example the mathematical process of multiplication...
  20. Yeah before I read these forums I had problems searching for something and now there is quite a few games there already. However after I joined and downloaded FuwanViewer (), everything is so easy Without reading forums I would have never found it (well I would have now since you included it in the latest blog post) so it might be good idea to have a link to that software on the main page somewhere before actual search function is done
  21. yeah thanks for that blog post, I spent lots of time designing what I want, I had some with Mare and Kud and other lolis, but in the end what fit the best was Kagamine Rin being all cute there and Rin&Miku (as a loli) in a cute yuri scene. But well it was influenced by visual novels actually as I started loving those 2 after I finished the vocaloid VNs (Miku kiss and Rin ga Utau) Both came on monday and the quality is excellent, next year im getting another 2! (if the world hasn't ended by then... because look at this!!!! http://i.imgur.com/yqpYx.jpg) edit: I don't have anything to take photo with but they look just like on the design http://www.artscow.com/gallery/mousepad/-niu3qv574g2s http://www.artscow.com/gallery/mousepad/-j35uqz8uwwbw and some of these for next years: http://www.artscow.com/user/steverowland-1459784 (not all of those I made are saved there, don;t know where those went but I have the images uploaded in the account for next year)
  22. Well on the matter of realism, reality is boring - that's why I love visual novels, they are not even close to reality and thus are very entertaining And when I remember back to my young age years (implying I am very old! well close to 22 years of age xD), thanks to the realism I never had the options I have in VNs, such as choosing the girl I want and knowing that in the ending I will be happy with her. In reality I could have gone for a specific girl's route but got game over before the route even started - she got someone else (im talking about when I was 12-16). We arrived on summer camp with a friend with expectation to find someone, but half of the girls were already locked with someone else "home". The best outcome I could have hoped on summer camps was to go for a dance with that girl in the final festival (something like they have the summer festival in japan but its more about dancing and doing random stuff in a hall, not outside, and girls don't wear yukatas, just normal clothes or "fancier" clothes, but it is summer camp so you don't wear like suit, hell I got my first suit at like 15 anyway so its not like you take it with you there). Or actually you meet someone on the last day and find out they live on the other side of country and never meet them again, there were no fancy internets and facebookies and twatters back then! (well we had dial-up home at that time and later ICQ xD). We maybe exchanged numbers and then I spent all my pocket money on telephone credit. Anyway the point being, I got maybe 3 good routes that actually were good and entertaining in real life (one of which with pretty bad ED) for all the years and I pretty much stopped dating at like 17 because I was on technical focused school and then technical focused university so there were no girls there. So I was alone and sad for a long time (jk, I wasted most of the time in mmos and fps not even thinking about girls) and then I found out about visual novels and now I am never alone and I am happier than ever. VN > reality
  23. Well it is usually like that with small groups of interest, if you have a smaller guild for specific game, you will most likely find they are nice to each other and respect each others opinions. But when you go to games forum like nfohump or others, you will find much more people defending their own game and bashing other people's favorite game. Same for anime, on anime forums you will find people arguing which one is better and what not, because there is so much of it and it is very spread between people. Visual novels are however still not even close to popularity of anime in west and there isn't a great number of them translated either so there isn't so big selection and people still stick together as one for the sake of VNs. Sadly if they are to become more popular as most of us want and try to accomplish by spreading them in many ways, it will also bring those bad people in and those might start flaming about what genre is the best etc. Now in VNs I noticed it is very friendly environment between all groups, people who read only English translated, people who read even in Japanese and even translators who sacrifice their time to bring us such awesomeness. We will see how long this can last.
  24. Yeah, this all I would say comes from inability of modern society to accept things they don't understand, are not familiar with or don't like. You can see it on the internet, people arguing to death if xbox360 is better or ps3 is better, spamming on fan forums of a game that it is rubbish even though nobody from the fans care about this one person not liking it, hating on specific fan bases, people randomly commenting on anime or VN videos on youtube how pathetic it is liking something like that. I am pretty resilient to this already and I am not afraid to say what I like, I am not ashamed to admit I like lolis, I like VNs, anime, FPS shooters, mmorpgs. And then I can only laugh on stupid people that can't move over it. Actually there was funny story a while ago, some congresswoman (or whatever) in America played world of warcraft and some idiot said that she is not capable to fulfill her political role because she plays mmorpg and "wastes her life there". Its like saying people who like drinking juice are not capable of political function or people who like reading history books or whatever. And if someone stupid like that found out that some "important" person is for example playing visual novels, he would start about how he cannot be trusted and he will eat your children because in some visual novels you can eat children! (lol I dunno, maybe there is one like that, not my favorite genre I must say though ) All this is based on the fact that majority of people in the world are batshit stupid (and that is why in my country and I guess in lot of others, there is a sticker on coffee "warning:hot!" or actually on a milk box, there is "allergy warning: contains milk!"). We can't however do anything about it.
  25. I never bought a visual novel and I think there is lot of people like me in the west (well that is why I am at Fuwanovel), this is an idea how to turn people like me into actual paying customers. I should start why I don't buy VNs, well that is the same reason why I don't buy singleplayer games or games that didn't have beta version or trial version - I don't have so much money to risk getting something I don't like. There are some people that buy the game after they finish the pirated copy, but I am not one of them, I lack the dedication after its already finished. With visual novels its even more trickier as I almost never know what I'm getting into, will I like a character there, will want to finish the game? And if I worked in some Japanese company trying to push their games into west, I would definitely propose this, because this is a trend that is just so popular in Europe and US that they could earn much more than by selling full copies of the game. Here it is: 1. Have a common route free of charge, downloadable from a site, let people play whole common route, not only the trials they have in japan. It will make them hype so much for the actual route, they will already have saves for that version, what if those are not compatible with any torrented version. 2. Let people buy specific routes "as they go", not full package at once, charge 5-10$ for long route (10+ hours), and like mentioned in previous point, people will get at the end of common (if it is any good, they will stick that long) and suddenly they will have 2 options, try to import save to torrented version OR they can click, pay for DLC and unlock the girls route. Its small investment and people are much more willing to pay 10$ every week as they read it than 60$ at once. 3. Offer some benefits for when you get the whole pack in the end as a hook, if the game has true route then people will spend ~60$ on long 6 route game to get to true end, but offer something more even for games without true route to lure people to pay even for routes they wouldn't want, let it be soundtrack or even full CG sets that people download anyway from torrent, might as well be easier to pay for the last route, try playing it and get this. 4. Don't use Japanese prices, almost nobody here will give you 120$ for a game without enjoying it greatly, however good reviewed it might be. With this model used in west (not in japan, people there will buy 120$ VN only based on image cover, but its very different here), they will get both people that play the full game and they will end up paying the same price (hell even let those buy it up front with little discount), but mainly they will get people that would either normally torrent it and maybe played one route to see how it is, even if it is only 10$ from those for one route, its better than nothing which they get right now, maybe they will end up buying 2 routes thus earning the company even more. If I take that into example, I could have bought Osananajimi wa Daitouryou ~My girlfriend is the President.~ from JAST for 35$ but I didn't know if it is any good, from common I already know it was very fun but I still didn't know how many routes I will play, I would buy Ell route for 10$ and now I'm reading Yukino route so that would be another, I might read Irina route and if I do, that would already be 30$, but split into several weeks. And then I would see that I can get soundtrack and CG sets if I buy the last route, even if I didn't plan on reading it, I would probably get it, get the soundtrack and sets and in the end paid even MORE than what they ask. Not to mention that I would probably buy full version of the next game from the same company, if I take another example there, I would have probably bought Hoshimemo or Little busters in pieces like mentioned above (and lured by the true end I would want to read it all anyway) and for next piece from that company, Iroseka and Rewrite, I would have probably bought the full pack (however that is if they would make official fast translation like 1 year after Japanese release). I ended up spending 120€ (~160$) on phantasy star online 2 (even though SEGA then returned all the money back), now I play planetside 2 and I got 3000SC (worth 30$). When I played tribes ascend I bought 30€ (~40$) worth of weapons and boosters there too. I would have never bought either of those games if it was for full price, yet if they let me try it and lure me on some early unlocks or in case of VNs on true loli route in the end, I will spend money there. Free to play is the way to go, if made right. So what do you think about this?
