  1. Guess ill add my propaganda image too:
  2. *glimpses at his drives well damn, maybe that's why I like it the way it is now then xD (I do have big folder for EVERYTHING called "torrent", too lazy to sort it since like 5 years ago)
  3. Hm I wonder if I should change from 7 to 4
  4. We don't have to start the arguments about it even here. Just in quick why I mention Aaeru often recently. (and I talked about this with Tay in a friendly conversation, it is not like I have anything against him, it is just my concern) - fuwanovel was Aaeru's gift to the community and however it was received doesn't matter for the purpose of this discussion. The important part is that you can change the gift, improve it and all, but you should never take it away from people who received it. So when I see people concerned about how their part of the gift seems like fading away, I will try to defend them. And I will talk with Tay and tell him about those people, because fuwa might be the only good home they have. And as for Ren's comment, I have no idea what it was about. What race did I even insult to justify being called a racist, the PC master race playing VNs on steam or what?
  5. Fuwanovel promotes sharing of VNs in the western community. Marketing is completely unrelated to that. I would however agree that it might not be a bad idea to separate them to distinguish the projects that are free in volunteer section and the projects that are commercial or raising funds (in a subsection of VN talk). However I don't think there is enough of the latter to justify its own subforum just yet.
  6. Well I will have to oppose the "every other competition" rule. You have to realize that this is not a contest determining who is the most liked and popular person on fuwa, it is contest deciding how should Fuwanovel top look like in the foreseeable future. The rule you are proposing would work for stuff like MoTM and similar contests, but not for this one. I would compare it to something like indie movie awards where you are earning promotion in cinemas or something - if a director of a movie wins with his film, why would you stop him from entering the competition with his new second movie if people liked the first one - quite the opposite, you might be excited what the new movie from that director is like and you will want to see what else can the director make and if it lives up to his previous work. I agree that using the same logo again would not be fair, because it was already able to win the first time - but letting the person make a new logo to again compete seems like a natural thing. That's why I decided to make a new logo in the end and not just submit the Mare logo. If anything it actually increases the overall quality of the competition and the entries - other competitors can't just say "ah, Steven Spielberg (or whoever) can't be on this competition, it should be easier for me to win". Like if Shinku wins, I don't know if I'll make one for like fall competition, but I will definitely make one for winter (and most people probably know what character it will be, representing snow and winter xD).
  7. Nosebleed confirmed in the topic that you cannot argue with the logic of my statement. You just lack any sense of poetic thinking
  8. Indeed, I explained that in the other topic: Her hair is the color of the summer sun setting behind the horizon, after a long day of playing with friends and lolis at the beach.
  9. Yes, blame the contest organizers for not making screens of how it looks on the actual website
  10. The background of the forum theme is black. If you use the IPB default theme it is dark blue. Hence all the logos need to be made for dark background since those are the only 2 skins currently used on fuwa. (the IPB actually doesn't use the mare logo, I only changed it for the gravity green theme).
  11. Which was never the goal in the first place As explained here and in some of the last posts and decisions Aaeru made before she left (some invisible). It is not about supporting and promoting, it is about sharing and giving away what you can, like your work on TL projects and other things. It is funny however, because it almost makes Fuwanovel a religion with how differently some people interpret the words of our creator Just like it was with real religions, it was the most powerful who were deciding what the "correct" interpretation of the texts are xD Oh well... Indeed, I share the same concerns, fuwa has been a great home for me for years, but as it goes in the 3d world, everything nice has an end one day - But its not over yet, that is why we, members, have to make our voices heard. Surely they cannot be ignored forever... or can they? :/ In the end we might need to resort to what other religions have too, prayers.
  12. context is something like this but with younger girls: (can't find safe image with lolis like that xD)
  13. ... with interesting results: http://strawpoll.me/2162838 asked random people (on twitch and such). moving around that 60:40 since the beginning. So 60% of people in the world are lolicons - confirmed fact.
  14. both links broken, don't hotlink too boorus and such, reupload to imgur
  15. so many spoiler CGs, but oh well xD Lets hope people are careful xD
  16. Well the reaction was mostly to the forums sidebar. As for the website, my main ideas for the changes were mostly stuff like promoting the activities we do have on the forums, the various groups and talks you could join and what all you can do on the forums. With something like member interviews you are presenting an idea of "you can get on the forums to talk to THIS guy" since its a single person being interviewed. I don't want to go much off-topic here, basically the idea was to introduce stuff to website users that they can instantly hop into and participate in to better get into the community (which Ren is going good job at with stuff like the treasure hunt - those would be the projects that would be promoted). The main reason for all this being delayed indefinitely (and all the other projects) was the lack of coders for the main website, but well although I am not sure now since I am not on staff anymore, this might actually change soon from what how it was shaping before I left. Anyways to the point, someone cannot really participate in an interview, all they can do is come and say "I don't know you but you sound like a cool guy" - so having that highlighted is not really doing anything. Having stuff like walkthroughs, guides, lexicons and even fun projects like what Ren did with the treasure hunt there will be much more productive - that is if such section ever comes to life. Because people can instantly participate and join the community.
  17. No, I'm not talking about people who come to promote their off-site project. There is however enough fuwa related projects that get overlooked. And I am not saying the stuff isn't interesting, like I said I am sure there are people who would be interested in hearing more from nose, me, kaguya and all the other big posters - but those people will find the topic anyways when its out. So I am not giving and advise who to interview, it is Ren's show and his decision. I am commenting on the request here and that is it being as a sidebar on the forums or even the main website - and I believe if there is a highlight space reverser for something, it should focus on less visible stuff. edit: So again, this topic is not about whether or not Ren's show is good, it is about whether or not it should be highlighted for everyone on the forums to see (or website as suggested later).
  18. Hm, maybe I could try to make some changes to add Shinku somewhere xD
  19. Remember the big Fuwanovel revolution that in the end didn't happen? (or only happened for a single day). It was during that time. It originated as a PM to Tay but I even reposted that later in the staff section (which you were part of at that time) - I guess you didn't read it. The main points there were improvements like Walkthrough section on main page, Fan TL base and better organized resources (for hacking and all), unification of news (facebook, blog etc), community section and highlights (that's the part im talking about) and improvement of the technical support for games on fuwa. That should help you remember, it was a fairly long post xD And then there was also the talk about motm during the times... I have to wonder if you actually read my posts at all, as it seems you just read the first 2 lines and ignore the rest
  20. The original idea and my argument for community spotlight section for both main website or forums was to highlight people and projects who even through their efforts are not getting noticed enough. From small groups and discussions to art contests and similar events, there is plenty of stuff that just got overlooked, because not everyone is able to bump and keep their topics active like for example Ren does. That's why the idea of highlighting something that is already in bold text seems unproductive. Sure there are people who would be interested in knowing what size of shoes I'm wearing or again hear why I like lolis and Mare and Shinku and favo games, but I can let people know about that myself, I am able to highlight my stuff on my own through my activity. That's why I think the main focus of highlighting through a spotlight should be on things that are not that apparent and visible. That's what Kaguya and I are probably referring to, just look at our topics, I can keep EH project up there (compared to some other TL projects), cute image and loli threads too, I backlink to temple of mare when needed and when its relevant. Kaguya's 50 translated VNs topic is one of the most visited topics on the forums and I'm sure he would have more example like that. And at the same time the much more difficult projects like the Hacking Tools stuff is buried somewhere - and even that is fairly popular by already fairly known member maef, at least compared to some other projects that just never got a chance to shine. And when you want to encourage people to make these projects, they need to first see that efforts like that are appreciated. Instead they see that milk, pineapples, octopi and appreciation threads are being appreciated Now we talked about this, Ren - getting appreciation is something very hard, generally in the world. That's what the community spotlight was going to try to help with and change a little.
  21. The artstyle and visuals is the most important aspect of a VN for me. They are VISUAL novels after all Combination of Visuals and Novels - so if I don't like one of those, I basically don't like half of the game
  22. Which is why it is fine and a good idea in a topic in GD or something. But no reason to have it load for everyone in the community each time they visit the forums.
