Oh well I guess for people who are lazy to turn back a page I will repeat the status on this page too
Yes most of the stuff is translated but since we were not satisfied with the quality, everything is being remade pretty much from scratch (well not really but it will take about as much time as if it was).
And even though lot of the ichalove parts are fine as they are, it still requires someone to check them and currently all the people in the project with very good Japanese are busy with school and work so its not really moving much.
On the positive side - hacking is figured out (in multiple variants actually) and there is even a fully working version of Mare route patched in, but it is not public as Mare deserves better~
So yeah, if you start today, you can probably learn enough Japanese to read the game with some tool assistance before the project is finished

In response to Steve's objections, and him claiming a double standard: try to post a thread about how awful black people are, or that maybe Hitler was right all along, or some other similar kind of provocative and offensive discussion, and see how quickly mods swoop down on you.
But that's not what this is at all, games depicting racism are exactly that, they are just depicting racism not encouraging it nor fighting against it, they just depict it just like it happens in the world. Same way games can depict wars just like they happen, people murdering each other just like it happens. It doesn't mean you do those things.
Besides comparing a hate towards a specific race or group of people to a consensual love that usually happens in the regular moege is not a good thing. Sure encouragement of rape and such is banned but that already is banned as well even while I was around. But this really is comparing hate with love.

Yeah yeah, but I don't think laws in the US forbids the discussion. Images sure but as I said those were banned ages ago right after I left and there was nobody to defend the ban.
But for text, there are still books about real child sex sold in the US so it must be fine. 2d girls are kinda like different species so its even more distant but I guess when having the discussions like we did about which H scene was good from oniichan sharing, it can come out sounding like its a 3d girl if someone reads it out of context... which is still not banned in the US as far as I know.

How's that book you got $60 to write coming along Steve? I can see why Idolmaster would take up a lot of your time.
Actually if you can hop on TS I can tell you more about it, its actually coming pretty well despite me only being able to focus on it so little (goal only few % reached). I reworked lot of the base script too as I got better at everything. Look forward to it but probably like 2016.

I fully understand why the decision was made. And this doesn't affect 90% of members here. The fact it even came up was surprising because I had been under the assumption that Nayleen was clear in saying no pornographic material at all a while back.
So, if that was the case, will punishments be in order for this?
Well the main difference now is that this is no graphical material or images, like sure i can understand catering to underaged users of the website etc by not allowing 18+ content like hentai images, sucks but its fine. But censorship of written text?!

Ok also guys remember that killing is also a bad thing and a very complicated topic so no talking about people killing each other in videogames and eroge, FSN is so evil! (Oh and those detective games and stuff like that, too evil to talk about. And what was it... corpse party?

You know since the lolis in the games I play actually like it which I don't think can be said about murdering someone. But then again you cant really ask the murdered person if they liked being killed... unless they turn into a zombie or a demon... that actually has a mind... I'm pretty sure there are some VNs like that as well... I don't even want to know about them! (Don't even remind me the games that involve consensual sex with a slime [yes, its a real tag on VNDB]).
But hey, worse crap happens in the world, Apple took down games about American civil war because they have historically correct depiction of confederate flag. History used to be censored in my country too during the soviet era and stuff, its actually funny what my parents were taught at school and the actual history that happened.
But yeah, censorship is never good, usually leads into revolutions and stuff so be careful. Or people just leave somewhere without it... that's the easier way I guess.

ShinkuSeka (there is no official abbreviation for the 3rd Shinku game yet so I'm using this in the meanwhile) is probably gonna be running on the exact same engine so it should be easy to extract/insert as well but I guess its gonna take quite a while until you actually need that. I can't wait for the release (25.7.2015)!!!
Oh and since most of us on TS have played irotoro, if you are stuck at some point with some of the impossible to translate parts, we have actually discussed those a bit, trying to figure out ways to actually put them into English so you might find some help there (+ some translated lines like those in images etc).
Steve coming on fuwanovel is something that happens only once every blue moon.

Hi, would there be someone in Japan willing to receive a verification sms for me and give me the code?
It is for Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls account verification so if you don't plan to play that I could really appreciate your help.
I already did it once with meru, who lives in Japan. I used her number to verify my first account and we confirmed that it is one time only and the number will not be used for anything else - meaning the game company does not send any additional mails or sms or advertisements or anything, just one message with the code and its dealt with. Of course no charges on the number.
Why do I need second number you ask? Well I became obsessed with Cinderella Girls and play on 2 accounts, the problem is that I cannot trade between them since trade is only available to accounts verified with Japanese phone.
Also I can give you the account info to login there and input the code yourself so you don't even have to share your number with me (and it is not visible anywhere afterwards).
Well if there is anyone like that here I would really appreciate it.

Yes, prepatched version will be released, just not on fuwo. It will be on [torrents no longer allowed Fuwa 2015], you'll be able to easily search it there once its done, probably wont be able to link from here but if you follow those websites you can easily find it yourself.

well considering you are the one who helped with the hardest part (those like 200 lines I sent you), you should have a pretty good idea, nothing is harder there afaik, so your help would be greatly appreciated. Hit me up on TS (the old classic one - ts.mare.moe / ts.shinku.moe / ts.mofu.moe), hopefully you'll come when Shin is on so you can discuss the translation xD
Last thing I remember was you being busy with KanojoX3, if you are free now it would be great~ Shin will probably do the H scenes so you don't have to worry about those.

More like I didn't care about there enough to add the entry there.
More exposure isn't really needed at this point, if there were any good translators interested in this, they could have easily found this topic and so they did - now there is one left and really busy with everything so its just slow.
While it is nice getting messages from people sending best wishes and wanting to help, the hard reality is that without really good Japanese and English (not just Japanese to be able to read but to actually translate) there is no real use for those as "base" translation is already done.
The problem is that although this is just a fandisc to a semi-moe game, it does actually have some serious stuff with quite difficult language, so less skilled translator won't be able to do those part properly and the really good translators won't join for a half moeblob game unless they are fans of the series - which Shin (the current TL) is.
So just remain patient or learn some basic Japanese and read it, just understanding the game is not that difficult.
Not only I mean the lines that are difficult to put into English but easy to understand, there is few of those in Favo games but well there is some translation workaround usually.
What I mostly mean though is that when you read, you can afford to misunderstand lot of the lines such as descriptions and other expository stuff, it doesn't matter if you understand it as "The moon casts its light through the leafless trees" or "The leafless trees allow the moonlight to pass through" or something like that (misreading Japanese particles is probably the most common mistake that can change sentence drastically, swap subjects etc) since those lines are there only for the atmosphere and as a filler. But during translation you can't afford to make those mistakes, making it infinitely harder to translate than to just read (because well, when reading you decide what is and isn't important for you but translation is for everyone so someone who finds fun in small details like deep descriptions would have a bad experience if all those lines were mistranslated).
