  1. I also have a question... is the plot actually good? The game seems very interesting, but I don't want to read it if the story goes nowhere.
  2. Hmm the ones I'd recommend you have already played/started playing and, I might add, given bad scores lol You could try Swan Song - it's not horror, but instead a very depressing post-tragedy story.
  3. Just curious. I see that they have released a ton of new games and are announcing a lot more. Are their translations good? Can I expect quality from them?
  4. It's on my steam wishlist for some time, I think. Since you are new to the genre, try reading some small VNs and see if you like it
  5. Why not keep "nice idea" in the translation? It's weird that she says it but it's written 'good' instead
  6. I'm pretty torn about this one. I plan to read it, but I don't know if it's worth skipping the +18 content in this case. At the same time, the idea of having more content on the Switch makes me want to try it when it launches on that platform.
  7. You'd be surprised to know that Euphoria does have a plot, and it gets really good towards the end. But if the... hm... stuff bothers you, you shouldn't read it, because it's pretty much there all the time. You could try Raging Loop, a werewolf-like that has some nice twists. There is also Root Double if you enjoyed the infinity series. Not a vn, but there is also AI: The Somnium Files, which is great. Oh, and read the other 7th Expansion games [such as umi and higu] oh 2, Enigma! oh 3, Swan Song!
  8. Turn your firewall off completely and see if it works. It's probably the cause. Do you use other antivirus programs?
  9. World End Syndrome on switch! Little Busters and Planetarian, by the same company that made Clannad, are also on the Switch. You should read all their games if you enjoyed Clannad. Aokana is also pretty cool and also available on nintendo's platform.
  10. Have you tried kinect novels? They are completely linear and even if they have romance, it's usually with only one character. It's basically an infinite common route.
  11. uh I meant Harmonia, which is a VN. Nobody seems to remember it
  12. Like Adam said, RB is an expansion that is only available in japanese [but Alka Translations is currently finishing the translation] I'd suggest you play both Kanon and Clannad, specially because there is a lot of content not present in the anime adaptation [Kanon 2006 simply took away the romance from the routes leaving only Ayu as a true heroine. In Clannad, although faithful to the VN, there are way more side-character development + one route not adapted]
  13. There's also Angel Beats! and Charlotte. As for my favorite, no doubt it's Clannad. The anime adaptation made me cry right at episode 9 and fall in love with the stories Key produces. The others were good - I didn't like Planetarian - but no other VN would make me go through the whole 50 hours again like Clannad. That said, I also love Summer Pockets and can't wait for Reflection Blue to be released. Unfortunately the newer games are written by different authors, so although they mimic Key's old style well, it's not the same.
  14. Koi to senkyo to chocolate It was created by the same company
  15. It's completely linear with no romance at all. It's a muder mystery series and each chapter adds new mysteries for you to solve.
  16. Today I finished World End Syndrome. It was fantastic, I loved it and it got me hooked through the whole story. I just wish the routes were longer - it felt that when the routes were finally starting to get interesting, they ended. Now I'm still reading Angel Beats and plan to finally restart SeaBed. This is one that I've read for some time and didn't enjoy because it was too slow-paced. But now I got it on the Switch and am actually pretty excited to try it again.
  17. Just have in mind it's not a moege, it's a mystery story-driven VN. But I think the main antagonist will please you
  18. I don't know how much they cost, but... they are quite expensive. Just take a look at some VN kickstarters and you'll have an idea. The best way to support authors is buying their games legitemely and spreading the word. Unless you are rich, then you can do wtv you want lol
  19. This is easy. Just read anything Key. Since you enjoyed Rewrite, I think the easiest one to get into is Little Busters. After you finish it, you have Clannad, Kanon, Air etc etc. Like Ange said, anything by Ryukishi is also a good read. But know that his other works are very, very different from Key's style.
  20. You should watch Higurashi Gou/Sotsu as they are sequels to the original story.
  21. You can read Angel Beats without the other games. According to various sources, the game is a complete experience, with three main routes and a ton of content. The only thing it lacks are the sequels and a conclusion, but the latter you can watch in the anime version. I'm loving WES. Loving. The map segments are bad, but I'm following a guide so it's not really a problem. I just wish there were more common scenes - as in scenes focused in the mystery instead of the characters - along the way. But I'm still in the beginning of Saya's route, so maybe it'll get better.
  22. the text itself was good, well written, but that was not enough. The music seemed very dated to me. Yeah, it didn't click with me, sadly. I had high hopes for it. I decided to play it safe and stalled Grisaia. Now I'm reading Angel Beats! and gosh, it's way better - in my opinion, of course. I'm also reading World End Syndrome. For the first time in ages I'm trying two at the same time. Since WES seems to be short, I will probably finish it early.
