Is there a resolution option (doubt it honestly). I believe that if there isn't a resolution option, you may be able to change it's resolution somewhere else in your computer, say, AMD's control center thing. That's just a guess though. Unfortunately VN's are mostly still stuck in the 720p and 480p age with some, such as Steins;gate, doing something even more different. It might also be your monitor. What size is it? Ratio? Also, is your monitor considered "smart" (self-adjusts and such)?

Thanks, that would help. I know Rewrite has had issues for me before on Windows 8, where it would work for weeks and then never work again.

Other games suffer the same fate, such as Ever17 no longer working at all for Windows8/8.1. The only thing I think you could try is an emulator for whatever the vn is compatible with.

I have a friend who really wants to get into visual novels, but he owns only macs. We tried downloading Rewrite, but the sprites, animations, and text would flicker, and the text would get warped. This was done using fuwanovel of course, and also he tried to run it using bootcamp and parallels. So I come to this, is there any way to make visual novels work on Macs? Are there any that will for sure work on Macs?

It could be any number of things unfortunately. Did you do any recent virus scans or removals? Any removal of data? Did you move the files? Did you delete anything? Did you dare mess with the registry? Stuff like that could contribute to your issue, so if you can think of anything, anything at all, that might have caused it, then it might be fixable. I had the exact same issue with Rewrite on my laptop (windows , in which it worked for weeks, and then stopped working at the worst possible moment - the climax of Lucia's route. The only solution I could find was use my desktop to play... then again, I had issues with Rewrite's registry for weeks as well. To sum up my rant, anything could cause it, so please help us understand what might be the cause so that we can help you.

3 suggestions: Rewrite Ef: fairy tale of the two What a beautiful series (Shikkoku no Shrnoth, ect.) If you want great paintings, go with Rewrite. If you want photo-realistic backgrounds and amazing expressions, go with Ef. If you want a very different type of art style, go with the What a beautiful series, such as Shikkoku no Sharnoth. There are many more, but those pop into my mind first.

So I wanted to get my friend into visual novels, and got him to download Rewrite, the key game thing. Here's the kicker, it was on a mac book pro. We tried downloading it, we tried running it on parallels and bootcamp, but no matter what we do, a nasty issue happens. White flickering. A lot of it. the text especially. Help?
