  1. But the real question is... did it crash when you tried to save? ---- Started reading Irotoridori no Sekai. Too much kanji.
  2. You're a romance guy, so perhaps Rewrite? (It's not 18+ however.) Otherwise, have you tried Ef or If My Heart Had Wings?
  3. I skip anything too complex. For words with lot's of definitions, I also skip those. Get to know particles. They are your friends. It's kind of a hit and miss when you just start to be honest. Whenever you see a reading with only one definition, or very few such as "mio", then try to remember those. I also tried memorizing anything I see often, such as "yume" (dream) and "to have a dream". I also started getting into learning the grammar better the more I saw it, so I decided to pull out my textbook/internet browser to understand the grammar better. To sum it up, just keep reading. I recommend using Jparser with visual novels rather than anime, since you can go at your own pace and the sentences might be more fleshed out.
  4. I have only a simply response to your simple introduction. Welcome.
  5. My oh my, another Canadian joins our ranks! Welcome! You have some a good visual novels queued up. I recommend that you read G-senjou no maou first since it's got an amazing story, but if you want to go with the also awesome kamidori alchemy meister, then be prepared for a very long, yet great, ride.
  6. Comyu is the first thing that comes to mind. It's a little darker overall compared to Rewrite, but it's definitely a good read. Translated by the same group that translated Rewrite as well (Amaterasu translations).
  7. Welcome to the forums~ Always nice to see that visual novels are a worldwide thing, not just in North America (oh and jap).
  8. Oh gosh. Maybe I made the right call to take a break from this vn after Yoru's route... I'm guessing it has to do with the patch, which we probably messed up.
  9. Welcome~! And that's...uh... an interesting profile pic you got there...
  10. Action? A good laugh? I can only recommend Rewrite for someone that wants to experience a Key visual novel. In fact, I'm not sure why Rewrite isn't recommended more often.
  11. Then it seems the only way to fix it is by ignoring it until it goes away. MoeNovel did a great job censoring the vn, if I might say so myself.
  12. Are you getting this error every time you start the vn up, or just when you get to that part in Asuho's route/load a game?
  13. How far did you progress after the duck stayed there? The sprite tends to go away once the same character enters the screen (Yoru will disappear once Yoru reappears). Wow. That's confusing sounding. Another possible solution which I have not tried is loading from an earlier save, and then skipping through the text until you reach the current scene. It might still have the bug though. Quick question: Did you have any issues with the sprite of the plane or anything else during the first scene with the windmill/glider? I heard that having an issue there means the patch was not installed properly. I know that I had issues there (and the plane is still messed up ), so it might be the reason.
  14. We are all called to the forums at one point or another. It seems the reason why you were called is a mystery to yourself, but that is why we are here to help guide you. Oh, and welcome.
  15. It's unfortunately a (hilarious) bug that I've encountered as well. Doesn't seem to be a way to fix it, as with a lot of the bugs in the game. Did you install the patch the second time? Are you using windows 8.1 as I am? Those questions might be related.
  16. Another animator would help a lot. So if anyone wants to help.... Please do o.o
  17. So much trauma. Don't worry. Mare will be there for you. Mare is there for all of us ...I Just noticed this
  18. Tears huh... I might have something for you, though it really depends on the person. School days makes everyone cry. It's simply that bad of a story. Symphonic Rain will have you cry for the fate of particular characters. Rewrite is so epic you might cry to that.
  19. Spoilers everywhere I would definitely say the visual novel had revenge as one of its main themes. It's evident in at least two of the routes as well as a few of the chapters.
  20. You'll have to go through extra first though. Woo.
  21. First off, welcome! In my opinion, Sharin no Kuni focuses of the plot. It uses a different route system, but it still focuses on one heroine per chapter (in fact, one could say there aren't really any routes at all). You should go ahead and read Sharin no Kuni. It's a great vn that many people have enjoyed (especially if you enjoyed G-senjou). Another awesome visual novel that I had just finished is Comyu. Comyu isn't as similar to G-senjou compared to Sharin, but it's still great. By the way, how did you find visual novels (fate/sn)?
  22. I never thought I would see a specter... but hey, I don't mind at all, rather... Welcome! Tell me...
  23. As expected of a legendary maid... Little, do you prefer action visual novels (with a decent plot)? I'm just guessing based off your favourite VNs.
