So i recently switched computers and i had to move over all my VNs which caused me to lose my save data for most of them. I have downloaded several 10% save files but i can not figure out for the life of me where to put them in the game folder. I downloaded a file called Config.dat while it appears Majikoi only has a Config.pac. Am i supposed to convert the .dat or am i missing my save folder? It doesnt appear to be anywhere in the designated installation folder. I've seen a couple of threads like this on here but none of them really told how they got the save file to work. Can someone give me the pathway or do i need to create the save folder myself? Im pretty lost on what to do. I can save fine in the game so i know its going somewhere, just cant figure out where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunches!

Are you kidding me? I think Grisaia could blow pretty much anything out of the water! How could it not?! I would honestly be surprised if it didnt sell a metric fuckton more than Sakura Spirit. For one there are three of them, meaning much more to buy, with an off-shoot for Michiru coming out soon (if it hasnt already), two it is 1000x better than that dribble, and three Sakura Spirit is only one language while Grisaia is in two giving it a much wider market to sell to. Even on VNDB Grisaia has an average score of twice the amount of Sakura spirit and more than 45x the votes. Grisaia is a game, Sakura Spirit is nothing but fan service.

Japanese, sure. I'm not too familiar with their market so i cant say anything about that. What i have been exposed to though it seems people do indeed want a compelling story. I believe the majority of players just on this site alone dont just play for the moe. Different cultures different audiences, of course. I prefer a good story over anything so i am sure i have my skewed views on the western VN audience as a whole.

I greatly prefer manga to anime. I feel that you dont get the whole story if it gets moved to anime and a manga's story just seems so much deeper and detailed. If a manga has an anime i tend to both read and watch it (if i enjoy it enough) just so i can get the story from every angle. That being said i havent read a manga in years. I just dont have much time for that. I used to be an avid reader and even a casual binger where i'd spend the whole day reading nothing but manga. Times change though. I find it is much less time consuming to download and watch an anime than it is to find and read manga. Also i'm not 100% sure you can download manga, and that is how i get almost all of my media entertainment.

I'm stuck away from home and without my Xbox the week of the Destiny beta. I'm so depressed. I am filling that void with nukige. Lots, and lots of nukige. Masturbate the pain away or something like that.

I dont know if that is entirely true. The first time i heard the term VN i had no idea what to think. I took it as a literal term, a book with visuals. A dating sim, to me, is a whole different category. I grew up playing dating sims on Newgrounds and various sites, years before my very first VN, and yet the term had no pre-conceived prejudices in my mind. There is nothing wrong with players only wanting VNs with nothing but moe characters in them. That is just another sub-group in the vast whole of VN readers. In my mind if moe can bring in more readers then that is fine. I have no doubt that once most anyone has gotten a taste for reading VNs (no matter how they started) it would quickly become a deeper and more personal connection then just the moe or romantic factor.

Halo: Combat Evolved - Pretty much every encounter with the Flood. Gets my heart pumping just thinking about it! Gears of War 1 - The multiplayer as a whole was the best experience ever. I still consider myself a Gears Ninja God. Taking out a whole team by yourself is so satisfying. Halo 2 - Playing Cops and Robbers in a custom game. So much wasted hours fun. Bioshock Infinte - That ending blew my mind. I was all like "WHAAAAAATTTTTT???!!!! NO WAY?!!?!" Fallout 3 - Walking around with you're invincible follower Fawkes and collecting every single unique item in that game. Spent 100+ hours on that alone. Mass Effect 1 - Defeating that on insanity and getting the gamer pic was a great moment for me. KOTOR 1&2 - Both games were amazing to me and are my all time favorites.

I dont think that either of those posts could garner hate towards VN's rather i think it could cause some to feel disdainful to VN's as a whole if they just appear to be big jokes. If anything the posts increase the amount of VN readers and that should be a good thing, regardless of how they got in to VN's. If anything KS is the perfect way to bring new people in. Those posts make not paint it in the best light but that story is feeling driven and it will sweep you up in a heartbeat. I guess i just dont like thinking of others looking down on VN's because of some post that got taken out of context. I agree that the Lily picture is, to me, pretty hilarious. I also agree that in all likelihood it was made from KS fans for KS fans but it has gotten much bigger than that now. I'd hate to see it become potentially damaging to a community i love so much.

I think it came over pretty clear but it might easier for me because i have the exact same outlook. I dont think making fun of a VN is a great way to turn people on to them as a whole but its the first time i've seen a VN in anything remotely mainstream. Humor can be a very powerful tool but it can also be very damaging if not used the right way. Those posts have been very helpful to the spreading of VN's, as of right now. If turning a VN into a mockery becomes a trend that would be a very sad day. I'm not saying its going to happen but its a very real possibility. The internet isn't known for its kindness. How would one go about making VN's more well known but in the right light? I think Reddit has a very real opportunity of making that happen. It is very well known for making many efforts viral overnight. and is a tremendous opportunity if you get the right backing.

I thought he played through KS in 17min when i first opened that. I am not a smart man. We can only hope. KS worked on me and got me hooked but my first encounter with it wasn't someone making fun of it. I'm excited about the implications wide spread fame could have but i also want the right impression to be set. Its a slippery slope but one that needs to be overcome.

That is honestly the first time i have heard of such a thing happening. That would definitely do it, or at least help... That is exactly what i am feeling. I love that it is getting the attention but the way they portray it is rather demeaning. That was the basis of my post. Its good its getting noticed but i feel that it could be harmful in a way for those who are brand new to VN's, they might not take it seriously.

IMO there is no such thing as a "typical western gamer." The gaming community is so vast and you cant just pick one group to be the "typical" gamer, it just doesnt work that way, the west's market is too vast for that. Even for me Katawa Shoujo was my 2nd VN and it was great, not the best but still very good. I also think that KS is very easily obtainable. You dont even need a torrent client to download it, it installs just like any piece of software or game non-VN readers are used to and you can find it relatively easy with a simple google search. Its a gateway VN and i think thats just what the west needs.

So i frequently lurk Reddit (as well as Fuwanovel) and have for years. In all that time i have never seen a VN make it anywhere close to the front page. This past week though i have seen two posts on the front page and over the last year i have seen several other posts pertaining to VN's. Both of the recent posts were screenshots of Katawa Shoujo. http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/2begs9/man_i_am_loving_this_game_already/ & http://i.imgur.com/hvpYLkf.jpg (cant find the original post) Reading through the comment sections of both posts i noticed many people said that they tried the game and Reddit was the reason why. Katawa's website got so much traffic that it crashed. This kind of blew me away. There had to be thousands of people on those threads. Whether their thoughts were positive or negative this could still lead to a great increase of VN readers. Is Reddit a good way to spread the popularity of VN's? Are people getting the wrong impression of VN's? Is any publicity good publicity? Should we as a community (VN readers everywhere not just Fuwanovel) push for this kind of thing? You sure about that? Wouldnt be a good stalker if you found out... Trueish. It hasnt been recent really but there have been a ton of anime where the ending has made me so mad. Monster is a good example. That ending makes the whole series pointless IMO. Infuriating. Next person knows a celebrity personally.
