  1. I very much enjoyed your.... instrumental accompaniment and, uh, improvisational vocals. Congratulations! Atleast, Mare likes it, and that's all that matters, I think. Right? No?
  2. What do you know, one of these threads again. I do like my fair share of Namine Ritsu, since he has terrific range! (as in, he sounds fantastically clean in just about every register.) The timbre of his voice varies depending on the octave, too, successfully emulating both the whole effeminate and adolescent-masculine thing simultaneously. There's an unmistakenable sense of ambiguity, granting the listener a sense of unity and disregard for the gender barrier, despite the already existing predisposition of said boy that, infact, weighs several tons and can fire ballistics from his breasts. I tend to dislike any Vocaloid song with poor emulation, e.g. Miku's cover of Go Go Maniac, etc. While Namine Ritsu has a naturally convincing voice bank, Miku, as well as many other 'loids, does not. And, with that said, my favorite vocaloid is Miku. I hope that doesn't surprise you. Here's my favorite tune. If you scroll down the comments and click "show more", the comment by "Jordansoldat" is mine. Obvious lolicon implications aside, Mitchie M is a genius of an artist. He seems to mix and master his own music, as well as create what I find are some of the best patches for the genres he's involved in. As a music major, I can confirm that, through some study, Mitchie M has a formal musical background and seems classically trained, as a lot of his tunes are musically intelligent. His sense of harmony is fairly strong and he manipulates his melodies well. He's great with music technology, despite his open humility, and often puts Miku with a chorus, which is, in my opinion, where she sounds her best. Honestly, it doesn't take much to satisfy my taste. I can watch terrible anime and listen to simple music, as I'm extremely tolerant and open to many genres, but I have a great appreciation for work like this. Pointing out my obvious bias is acceptable, as there is no passion without it. It doesn't feel right without pointing a fault of his, and that's when he "attempts" to manipulate her voice to accompany "solo" sections, as you'll likely immediately notice right off at the beginning of "Bye Bye Blue Memory." Tut tut. Anyway, thanks for reading. Thanks to my mostly westernized and "normal" community, it's hard to find opportunities to splurge like this. If you read this, you have my gratitude.
  3. Not a fan of Yuno, but I find this one difficult to deny. Nor am I an Azusa worshipper, but... This one's small in the thumbnail. squish I also find Frederica fever difficult to cure. I would also share any photo of Mare from Hoshizora No Memoria, but I get this weird feeling a lot of you get the idea already.
  4. As a practitioner of Kendo, I must say that this was embarrassing to sit through and listen to. I can't give any especially critical feedback yet, as I still need to organize my thoughts about it. Regardless, Kendo is a relatively "obscure" art outside of Japan, so a distinctive project like this definitely catches my attention. I'm especially intrigued with the decisions that are presented to the player during the keiko (maybe shiai?) in the video. It may even encourage some people to try Kendo! While it felt pretty cheesy, it's pretty good for a fangame, and I'm cheering you guys on. Like others have said, I hope you guys make some adjustments on the writing.
  5. Borderlands 1. While some may disagree, I found it to be a mechanical mess. The story was weak and all over the place, the world was dreadfully dull despite its size and "unique" design, and it was mostly a chore to explore. The only pleasure to be found was trying out various gun types and, well, blasting things. Sadly, something about the game makes even that, one of the most fundamental appeal of shooters, to become tiring as opposed to being of satisfying nature... somehow. Before anyone should feel inclined to say anything, I'm talking about the PC version. The netcode was trash and altogether a terrible experience. I played the XBOX version with a pal and it was slightly better. To me, MW1 was the strongest title in the franchise at its peak. While MW2 wasn't much worse, it was the infamous mark of death for the COD titles to come. For me, MW3 was definitely the most disappointing COD title indefinitely. I'd also like an honorary mention on behalf of the Black Rock Shooter game. While the plot and concept for the video game is arguably superior to that of the anime adaption, the game was way too short and the gameplay couldn't keep up with delivering enough interesting gameplay mechanics for the player, as well as a few notable "irksome" demands the game asks of the player in a few missions. To its credit, the game was only 20 bucks, but so were a few other games, like Final Fantasy Dissidia.
