  1. Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and let you test that one out for me, lol. I definitely don't regret following up on your recommendation for the Shield Hero series, but it still boggles my mind how there are still so many isekais like this. As for my seasonal anticipations, I'll mostly be keeping my eyes on Arifureta, Dr. Stone, and A Certain Scientific Accelerator. Hoping to god the Accelerator series gets more of the Railgun treatment rather than the Index one. A high quality adaption ought to be more manageable since it'll be following a manga, but I've never known JC Staff for their consistency, lol. I'm not too sure about this director, either... The Dr. Stone manga has been pretty well hyped even before the anime was announced, so I'm looking forward to its anime. It has an awfully interesting premise as well. As for Arifureta, this seems promising. The director for this series has worked on hentai before, so there isn't a single doubt in my mind that he was perform his job with the utmost efficiency. His work on Machine-Doll wasn't bad, even though the anime itself was dull (the anime's poor performance was likely derived from a lackluster source).
  2. I take ratings with a grain of salt. I find that lower ratings are generally accurate because I don't think I've ever enjoyed an anime that scored below 6 on MAL, but I tend have a lot of disagreements with anime that perform better on the site. Personally, I think it's because if an anime does more than a few things right, people are gonna find some reason to like it no matter how bad it may turn out (hence creating a source of polarity). But if it fails to do just that, then you won't find very many fans coming to its rescue. As for Precure, ya know I tried getting into that, but I'm just not terribly sure how to properly get into it. I thought I'd start off with the very first Precure series, but somehow that felt like a mistake. I did find the characters surprisingly likeable and I was willing to stick it out a bit just for them, but the series structure was just too damn redundant for me. I found myself with little to look forward to between each episode because it always delivered the same exact thing every time. There was no continuation from previous episodes, no divergences from the standard routine, no hooks, and no surprises. It was so bland I could barely stand it. But still, I have recently learned that it's not necessary to watch the series in order by air date, and I can basically just jump into anything that piques my interest. I think I'd much rather do that than to struggle with something I don't like. Would you happen to have any recommendations for me to start off with?
  3. I'm pretty sure he did. He didn't have Mjolnir after his return as an old man, and I think I remember him having it during the time leap, so it's likely it was returned. There'd probably be little point in doing so since he'd be considered unworthy of wielding the hammer as soon as he considered keeping it for himself. That and Captain America still has that mission first mentality; I doubt he'd leave out something important like that. Yeah, they don't explicitly show the scene where he returns it, but there's plenty of evidence to suggest that he didn't. No real need to if you ask me (especially considering how long the movie was).
  4. I'll agree with you on Ant-Man; great character in a team, but not so much individually. It's nice having someone with a less grand, more relatable personality to offset the super spectacular Avengers heroes. But Dr. Strange, too? I thought his was one of the more interesting movies in MCU, to be honest. I thoroughly enjoyed all the different aspects of the mystic arts, and the art was breathtaking. I quite like Dr. Strange's personality too; he was such a fun guy. And ya know, looking back on it, I find it quite interesting that The Ancient One knew of Dr. Strange ahead of time, but still refused to take him in initially. I guess the whole thing was just a clever setup, lol. Probably because they didn't have that kind of time. Thanos is a force to be reckoned with, and hiding the stones would've been a major gamble. Plus, Captain Marvel isn't strong enough to make that big a difference against Thanos (she couldn't hold a torch to him in the comics either, from what I've heard).
  5. That, I think, is an understatement. I'm impressed with his raw power alone; the guy can take the full fury of the Avengers with relative ease. Holy yikes, he could even take on the two crazy strong powerhouses of the Avengers, Thor and Hulk. I do also admire his conviction and can understand the motivations that drive him (even if I can't get behind them). So yeah, he is an excellent antagonist overall, and I have nothing but praise for the writers. Oof, I came so close to spoiling the ending to a couple people.
  6. Ooh, that's not a bad sale. Not every day I get to see a VN I'd actually want to buy for 49% off (Chronoclock, in case you're wondering), and there are a couple other noteworthy titles at a decent price too (especially Grisaia o.O). Kind of a shame 9-Nine is only 10% though. :/ Not gonna buy something right away when I'm only saving a couple dollars. Maybe next time.
  7. Eh, a 7.5 isn't that high for MAL. I'd say the high bar for that site would be more in the 8-8.5 range. And yeah, you're score is not that far off from mine, either. I enjoyed what it had going for it, but it could do with better writing. There is one episode in the sequel that had me nearly dying of laughter though, and I will always appreciate the series for that. Oh and don't bother watching the OVAs unless you're really in the mood for a fanservice shitfest. These OVAs have even less substance than the TV series.
  8. All right, I couldn't wait this time. Watched Avengers Endgame on opening night. The theater was cramped as all hell (in the outer area, not the screen room), but it was worth it! Although I think I'll pass on the popcorn next time it's packed like that, lol. The line for IMAX was massive. o.o Kinda made me glad I decided to go for standard 3D this time around (the IMAX tickets were sold out anyways). AE delivered on all the hype it's been generating. The ending turned out better than I thought it ever would, and the final fight was nothing short of spectacular. Kinda hard to go into detail without spoiling it, so I'll just post the rest in a spoiler.
  9. Yeah, that's a good idea. I was hoping I could replace MMOs with just standard single player games, but even the best games just don't give me the same spark. I like to be able to compete in things and have a set of goals to go along with my gameplay, and I feel that most single player stuff just doesn't fulfill that role. And I think I still have a ways to go before I can feel like I can compete with people in a real-world setting since my brain isn't capable of it just yet. But I am hoping I can implement some sort of balance between MMOs and single player games since the latter does provide the kind of satisfaction you can only get from completing a game (which is almost impossible to do with MMOs). Right now, my system involves playing MMOs 4 days a week, and single player 3 days a week, and I'm enforcing this with the Cold Turkey app I bought (it's a useful piece of software). There are idle MMOs? I played Kittens Game for a short while and found it very amusing, especially since it wasn't riddled with mtx. Didn't know they had MMOs of them. Yeah, I still have WoW friends added on Facebook, lol. They sometimes nag me to go back, and so far I've managed to stay off. Nice thing about Runescape is some of the most valuable bosses to grind are always available and you don't have to be in a guild to farm the non-solo bosses. If I went back to WoW, I'd likely be tempted to jump into the raid scene again, and that pretty much requires me to play on a schedule (which I don't like the idea of). Granted, I could always just play it for completionist goals or making gold, but I feel Runescape handles those two aspects better. WoW's economy isn't bad, per se, but it's kinda stale due to it not having as many gold dumps or high-risk content (actually doesn't have any high-risk content). But if I can manage my obsession well enough with Runescape, I might switch off to WoW again just to play something different.
  10. Ugh, I got hooked back into MMO gaming again. And as always, my grades dipped, my workload piled up, I'm put on weight again, and general feelings of depression and anxiety were sinking in, too. I was making such good progress too... But see, here's the thing, I don't want to give up on MMO gaming completely since I am enjoying it immensely. Even though there are dangerously addicting elements to these games, I still enjoy the community aspect of them, and getting to raid with others is so refreshing. But I really need to manage my addiction better and stop falling back on my real-world obligations. Now, while I'd definitely taken a solid beating from this experience, I did at least gain something out of it. After reaching peak insanity just this morning, I finally made up my mind to look at a book summary from the Blinkist site I paid $72 to access (which I actually don't regret) to find some answers, and amazingly enough I was able to find something pertinent. The summary was for a book titled "Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity" by David Allen. His strategy is quite advanced, but I do feel a great boost of confidence from it. The book goes into detail on how to optimize your productivity through basic project management. He lays out all the techniques needed to manage personal projects effectively and explains all of his ideas with great depth and clarity. I came out of this summary with half a page of notes, and I even experienced an immediate boost in concentration. And, most importantly, I managed to find an anti-addiction strategy for MMOs that I can be confident in. I don't feel I've perfected my coping technique just yet, but I do at least have a foundation for it at the moment, and I don't think I'll be relapsing anytime soon so I should have plenty of time to establish it (I still need to do a bit more research on the matter). If anyone's interested, PM me for a copy/paste of the book summary. I'd like to keep it to PMs so I don't have to worry about any copyright nonsense.
  11. Little late here, but, uh, would you mind telling me what anime this is? I've kinda fallen back on my JP studies and I can't figure out the title from this video.
  12. Not a bad start of the season so far. Fruits Basket is doing wonderfully so far, and I'll be looking forward to seeing the rest. A good bit of nostalgia here. Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san was surprisingly refreshing. It's nothing groundbreaking or anything, but the atmosphere is lighthearted, fluffy, and sweet. If you're any bit into moe stuff, you can't go wrong with this. That and you won't find very many anime featuring a centuries old nojya loli. I am interested in Gunjou no Magmel, but there aren't any good subs for this at all. >.<
  13. This guy did what was absolutely necessary, and I love him for it.
  14. Maybe it's to improve the product quality?
  15. Have you been gone for a while? In case you missed it, CoC now contributes to post count. I don't like it either, but it is what it is.
  16. I will give him this, he does have a knack for drawing unique and genuine facial expressions. And yeah, maybe I am being a little hard on him in regards to the fists. That said, I don't think it'd be impossible to find a talented artist who can faithfully adapt his designs while improving the quality to a more professional standard (especially given his popularity). However, if I had to choose between a good story with bad art and a bad story with good art, I'd take the former every time.
  17. Do you still have the key for Highway Blossoms?
  18. I'm pretty sure these are the types of questions hentai artists ask themselves when writing body switch scenarios. I suppose I'll run with the same answer 70% of everyone else is coming up with, lol. Shite, I'll even throw in a couple vibrators and nipple rings.
  19. Ah, I missed it yesterday. Happy belated, @ittaku!
  20. I see what you're trying to get at, but I don't think it's healthy or productive to blame your problems on society. Now don't get me wrong, I am well aware that humanity sucks and there will be times where your success is severely hindered by the people around you, but that doesn't mean you're completely devoid of options. Keep a level head, plan things out, and take action. Invest whatever resources you have (time, money, information, observations, etc) at your disposal towards self improvement, and stay focused. And yeah, I think you should definitely consider Stormwolf's advice. As someone who's been getting anxiety treatment for 2-3 years, I can vouch for its effectiveness.
  21. Going off my own experience and what I've heard from friends, I think it mostly boils down to expectations. I had the misfortune of going in when the anime first started airing, and it was my greatest pre-season anticipation at the time due to the staff having worked on TTGL. It's been a while since I last watched it, so I can't really recall what it was that put me off, but I remember there being a few annoying quirks that put me in a sour mood. But who knows, maybe I was being a little harsh at the time. Thinking back, it did have a few standout elements that got me hooked early on, so maybe I'll give it another go eventually. It might help if I judge it by its own merits rather than expecting a TTGL v2.
  22. Huh, this kinda brings me back to when I finished reading my first VN, Little Busters. While I was active on the Anime Sharing forum, I'd asked one of the prominent VN enthusiasts there for recommendations after breaking into the medium through Key. And that's pretty much how I've come to discover Hoshizora no Memoria. So yeah, give it a try. It does get very emotional in the true route, and it has more romance than most Key stories, too.
