  1. That scene : (of course heavy spoilers)
  2. Time for some Valentine's promo art! You can find our latest update here : http://lucid9.weebly.com/blog/february-updaate-a-lot-of-exciting-news We're really excited with the upcoming voice acting, and the auditions we've received for the VA we've picked are all stunning, we hope you will all love it as well!
  3. Actually I'm more the directing type actually I guess, I often end up trying to give as much directions as I can, and see if my teammates are good with it, if they are not I try to explain my reasoning about why I think we should do things this way, and if they disagree we try to look for a different solution together. Overall it worked nicely so far (had to compromise from time to time though), and discussions often end up improving even more the original idea proposed.
  4. Was it the same team of writers who made Written in the sky though?
  5. Since someone already posted my favorite (the Rewrite one), I'll post some others : Fate/stay night, reading this particular scene in Heaven's feel that plays it makes it even more powerful. Little Busters : it's calm, relaxing, simple, and yet beautiful
  6. So, as you guys might have seen (or not), we got voice acting for Lucid9 very recently, and we're opening auditions for a myriad of lesser characters and extras. So long as you have good quality equipment to record yourself, I figured some of you might want to try their luck? There are some pretty silly roles (that require pretty stupid accents) that need to be filled as well, so who knows? I mean, who would not want to voice a GoverMecher character?! For those who have never heard about our project before, here is our thread and website Here are the details and the roles available : https://www.dropbox.com/s/rsnp98xf877glh2/Lucid9%20-%20Open%20Audition%20instructions.pdf?dl=0 Note that you won't get financial compensation for your work, since we are a non-commercial project. And if you know people that could be interested, please share the news! We need to fill over 50 extras, so the more submissions the better!
  7. Too bad I can't bring myself to like megane girls for some reason... The CG looks really fabulous, especially the lighting really adds to the general feel it gives!
  8. You know, I have nothing against you personally, and if anything I'm supporting you as a fellow developper, but I think you should choose between wanting to have serious discussions about the state of VNs, and promoting your own project. It's a trend that seems to repeat in your latest threads. There is a proper time and place for each of those (more precisely different sections in the forums for each of those), and just ignoring it feels like bad etiquette imo. What does this new song you're promoting has to do with the topic of discussion of the thread? Don't you have a more appropriate thread where you should post it? If you're posting something that is supposed to create discussion, then you should try to focus on creating objective debates by finding pros and cons. While your own work can definitely be an example, it shouldn't be the focus of the thread. Else it just feels like you're trying to "clickbait" me. While I understand that the dev boards are not receiving much love from the fuwa community, it should be something that should be addressed and discussed among said community to find the issues, instead of trying to find a way around it. Maybe my opinion is in the minority here, and if everyone thinks that posting those kind of threads is alright, feel free to throw rotten potatoes at me. But to me self advertisement and discussions should be two distinct things. If no one sees a problem, should I just go ahead and post discussions threads that actually aim to promote my own project? Concerning the topic of discussion, I think that as long as your art is pleasing to the eye, you'll have no trouble getting people interested. You'll cater to a different audience, more people into comic books and less people into anime. Only thing is that you'll be targeting an audience that is less likely to know about VNs, and as a result be more wary (those people will expect more gameplay, fewer reading), but from what I understood you're trying to incorporate more gameplay elements in your game, so you should be fine.
  9. Looks like Decay got some sort of an article that commented about his review : http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1so8l7k While it doesn't exactly address the issue of bad writing since it has little to do with money, I think he does have a fair point. It doesn't excuse all the mistakes the creator of NOBY made, but it gives you a slightly more forgiving pov about it.
  10. Yeah you're right, the latest fuwanovel maintenance kinda screwed with the presentation, will fix this tomorrow.
  11. The trailer looks awesome! Giving it my vote!
  12. We're now on steam greenlight!! Please support us by voting and sharing the page with others! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=604416507
  13. A happy new year to everyone from us! Since I'm feeling a bit lazy today, I'll simply content myself with posting the two blog posts we recently made : - http://lucid9.weebly.com/blog/holiday-update - http://lucid9.weebly.com/blog/happy-new-year Some of you might have noticed that I have finally updated the front page, with new screenshots and info about the upcoming release, that we decided to call "Inciting Incident". We're getting on greenlight soon through Sekai, so I'm probably going to post something again relatively soon!
  14. Though I do agree with most people here that Kylo Ren is not a very convincing villain, it's still worth to note that before fighting against Finn and Rey, he got injured quite severly at the arm by chewie weapon (which could litterally send stormtroopers flying), and despite being a (apprentice) sith, he is still human, and that combined with blood loss would definitely make him weaker. Also, I think Ren was still quite disturbed by killing his own father, being so emotionally unstable I find it relevant that he has a lot of issues using the force during his fight (whether it is to fight in fluid motions like he should be doing, or even when trying to use the force to grab the lightsaber and losing to rey). Don't really have any excuse for the fact that Rey is OP as fuck though. It just makes so little sense compared to Luke's progression.
  15. Remember11 has characters with rather natural hair color (everyone has dark, brown or blond hair), except for one character that has white hair (though she is arguably a bit old). The art style might be off putting though.
  16. Himouto! Umaru-chan seems to be the kind of anime that would fit if you haven't watched it yet. Very funny to watch, cute, and heartwarming. EDIT : Nevermind, you've already watched this one, should have checked your mal beforehand
  17. OPM episode of the week was just perfect. The little speech from mumen rider with the music made it much more emotional than in the manga, same goes for when Saitama tries to convince people that he is just a fraud. Props to the VA for that. Binged the whole Rakudai series (up to ep 9), without any big expectations, and I was really surprised to find such a smooth animation, beautiful backgrounds, and more than anything a good romance progression. It's just an anime of the genre that does everything right : no harem, relatable characters, very good pacing, no forced drama... Feels like a better Zero no Tsukaima. The perfect insider is sloooooooow... The show better give a mindblowing resolution of the mystery and not pull some cheap ass tricks to justify my waiting...
  18. Sounds like an interesting project! Allow me to give you some advices from my own experience : - Less members to start off is best. Don't fall into the trap of the "recruitment spree", trying to have more members to give more activity to your studio, it's something that will work for the short term, but eventually you will have to get rid of people that don't add anything to the project (or even hinder it progres). - I think managers and leaders should be the one and same person, since the person who manages the group is often the one who have the best insight to take decisions. - More than one leader might not be very beneficial : the authority that comes with the leader position depends on the amount of work that you invest in the project as a leader. If there are two, one of them risk not having any work, and will look like "This guy who orders others around while not doing anything himself". Have the second leader be the leader's right arm instead, and this right arm should be someone with decent authority (writer ideally) over the group, so that the leader can delegate and get some feedback from him. - How exactly do you intend to organize regarding the several writers part? How many is several? You said they would help you, but what does that imply? Will they write? Will they just brainstorm with you? Submit character designs? If you intend to make a 10 hours long game, 2 writers (as in people who will really write on the drafts) should be enough, I'd really advice against more since organizing among more writers will take you time that will not be compensated by the time gained having several people writing (not even counting the editing issues) - You won't need any programmers / composers?
  19. The HD graphics are really, really neat, especially on my 1920*1080 screen (which is a laptop with a 15" screen, so low resolution VN really hurt usually) The translation is much better than the fan translation, though I haven't read much of the new version, but it flows better than before. The remastered OST is also a big plus. And the dangopedia is a nice addition, that can be very useful to players unfamiliar with japanese culture.
  20. That sucks :s Though I'm kinda intrigued as for why you couldn't keep any of the script he had already completed? (if he has completed any, that is) As a piece of advice, I'd recommend you trying to search writers on fanfiction.net, especially on the anime fandom (Steins;Gate / Fate being the most prolific). I'm doubtful it will help you to recruit on Fuwa (or even Lemma). Sure you might find skilled writers, but the issue is more on the commitment side, people on fanfiction are generally used to writing regularly for a long period of time, and they actually get feedback on their work to improve. themselves. But that often comes at the cost of recruiting someone that might not be familiar with Visual Novel narration / scripting / tropes, etc. Your project is really well done, and a lot of attention has been given to the details, so even people not familiar with the medium would be excited to participate in a project like yours.
  21. Haven't posted here in quite a while... We're still working hard on the common route! A lot of assets are being produced, thanks to the effort of everyone on the team! Guess I'll just post some assets, since sharing is caring First : our podcast episode 1 video! Cover art : Dizzyworld2, OST : Hustle & Bustle by Jason Walsh Participants : AnotherPlayer, Mac (Tips : do actually watch the video, you won't be disappointed! ) So usually, I often put a background update here with an asset, but this time, I'll do even better : a background speedpainting from Yuuko! And lastly, of course, some fanart, because you all deserved it after waiting for so long without any news : A bit late, but look at all the candy Akira got! (Drawn by Yuuko) That's all for the moment! Stay tuned for some further updates soon-ish! (And follow the thread if you haven't been yet! )
  22. It's looking really good, I'll give a try to your demo! Also I really like your GUI^^
