    Idol Mahou Shoujo Chiru Chiru☆Michiru

    Game:

    アイドル魔法少女ちるちる☆みちる

    VNDB Link

From the publisher Frontwing, this alternate-world spin-off of the Grisaia no Kajitsu series features heroine Matsushima Michiru as a Magical Girl, fighting to save the world from the Seven's Chaos. Follow along as she argues with her familiar, fails to perform all sorts of magic, gets one-upped by other idols and Magical Girls alike, accidentally shows off her panties, and occasionally dies. She has a dream, and she's going to chase it the way only Michiru can.

The game is produced as if it were an anime in the form of a visual novel, so it is distributed into 13 episodes. Part 1 contains the first 7 episodes, and Part 2 (to be released in December 2014) contains the final 6.

    Intro:

    Technical Details:

As stated before, this game is split into 7 episodes of roughly equal length. The 7 episodes, combined, comprise roughly 5000 lines of text. Pretty small, by VN standards, but I'm very slow (~25-40 lines/hour).

In addition to the scenario text, each episode has an OP and ED movie, a pre-episode summary of the events so far, and a post-episode preview of the next episode.

The game runs on the CatSystem2 engine, the same as Grisaia no Kajitsu (as well as many other Frontwing titles, I believe).

    Progress: ~50/100%

    Menus/Config: 80/100%

    Scenario: 40/100%

    Episode 2 - A Strange Exchange and a Magical Change: 94/100%

Episode 3 - The Other Magical Girl: 90/100%

    Episode 4: 0/100%

    Episode 5: 0/100%

    Episode 6: 0/100%

    Episode 7: 0/100%

    Movies: ?/?%

    Mastering/Second QC/TLC: 0/100%

    Schedule:

As mentioned before, my translation speed is very slow. Each episode takes me about 20-25 hours (translating, reviewing, proofreading, editing, head-scratching). Summaries, previews, and OP/ED subtitles will take even longer (relatively, per word), since translating by ear is much harder than translating copy-able text.

As a rough guideline, I'm trying to finish the script of one episode per week, and hopefully additional TL tasks, cleanup, QC, mastering, etc. will take no longer than 2 weeks after that.

In all, I'm hoping to finish the whole project and have a patch out by this Thanksgiving, November 27th.

    Translation Philosophy:

    Recruitment:

I don't need anyone else in order to get this project finished, but it would definitely benefit from having a good editor or translation checker, or... a Japanese humorous reference checker? My biggest concern is that sometimes there may be subtle jokes in the script that are flying over my head. In any case, I will definitely at least find someone other than myself to give the script a sanity check before I release it.

    Preview Screenshots:

Translated menus & config screens, and some example scenario lines.

To be honest, I think that the changes Ren suggested would help you generally appeal to people. But I value the bluntness and the honesty, so I have to say I like it. When I see a novel project that wants a thousand dollars, I fully expect a large amount to go to the writer, to make it a more feasible task. While I do think that the explanation you wrote in this thread is much better in terms of nicely explaining things, I don't support the obfuscation of information in order to make your project seem like anything other than what it is. I approve of your choices in general as far as your straightforwardness goes. (And to be honest, I'm expecting a lot of it to go to living or 'salary' costs, so it makes you seem very legitimate when you don't try to hide the facts)

The one thing I wasnt too sold on was the part about your writing. I think you could make it clearer that you're actually quite proficient with the language. It wasn't too unclear, but you definitely undersell your skills in that regard

I downloaded the Prologue and haven't read it yet, but I'm excited to! hehe

If you liked Michiru and her route in Kajitsu, you're going to like this as well; it's pretty much more of the same thing. I just can't take Michiru seriously, and definitely not as a heroine on top of that. Her idiocy is great when she fills the comic relief character role, but in the heroine position it just has the opposite effect.

But again, if you liked Michiru as a heroine, you're going to love this.

If you recognize this quote, then chances are good that you are/have been a moderator. It mathematically follows that you’re a stellar human being and a friend to the masses. Being a moderator has its ups and its downs, but at least the money is good and the global fame helps… right? (… anybody?) Every moderator who has given time to the endless war against spam, derailing, AMA threads, and otherwise served the People’s Republic of Fuwanovel has impacted the evolution of our community. Your blood, sweat and tears have left Fuwanovel changed for the better. The dozens/hundreds/thousands of hours you gave our community – more often than not without a lot of thanks – can never be adequately honored.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t try!

And what better way to honor moderators’ work than create a party thread which is doomed to much derailing, spam, and an ungodly amount of imgur/youtube tangents? Kidding! Well. Kinda. This thread IS going to be all of the above, but it’s also a chance for the community at large to voice their thanks.

    THE RULES
SO! Here are the rules for this party thread:
    ·       Party like it’s 1999
    ·       Have a ton of fun
    ·       Also take time to thank the moderators (as a whole and, if you can, specifically) for all of their time and effort. Please be sure to make at least one such post today.
    ·       Moderators should be encouraged to give speeches
    ·       Embrace the feels
    ·       Be a little vulnerable and say something nice!
    ·       Listen to your heart (when it’s calling for you)
    ·       Say a lot of nice things about the mods and share favorite stories
    ·       This thread will (theoretically) close at 11:59 PM tonight (October 3rd, 2014). You have but 24 hours!
    ·       Party like it’s 1999

I'd like to close with a quote from a certain fanfic. “Search in your heart. Batman is not any one person. Batman is a symbol of justice and freedom from fear of criminals. Batman can be anyone.”

Today, my friends, you moderators are batman. (Literally, for at least one of you.)

    Hello everybody,

First of all -- I'd like to thank everybody for coming out yesterday and showing a lot of love to our mods. Many of you truly took the burden of the holiday on your shoulders and strove mightily towards that ideal of 1000 posts. We didn't make it all the way, but we did well. We did dang well.

I know lots of you wondered why I opened up a 24-hour marathon party. Granted, my internet (power) going out made it so that I couldn't be there the last few hours, but I spent the vast majority of the day furiously reading status updates and posting with everybody. I know that a lot of you got caught up with me and really brought your A-game to the table.

    So why the thread?

A lot of it had to do with wanting to send the moderators out with a bang. But also, looking at how hard everybody worked to be a part of that thread (I think we were all up waaaay past our bedtimes at at least 2 different parts of the 24 hour run ; )), I'll just leave you with a thought. Could it be possible that that thread became a metaphor for Fuwanovel itself?

Thank you for coming out and making the first-ever Fuwanovel Rock-Around-The-Clock Moderators' Appreciation Day Holiday a success. Go and sleep in peace, the madness has ended!

On a more serious note (if you call it that), here are my current thoughts on the mods of Fuwanovel (in my limited experience with them since the time I joined).

Tay, the host of this party.

-Thanks for including Monty Python as one of the tracks for this party. I was worried I wouldn't know any of them.

Kendjin, a guy who acts like a moderator. He often takes the role of the villain in place of other mods. This makes him look harsher when coupled with how much more professionally he acts compared to other mods (that's not saying much).
However, when not acting as a moderator, he always manages to give off a nice mood, courtesy of that avatar.

-Thanks for being the evil-doer for the sake of order and peace.

Down, the other somewhat professional mod. I'd say he likes things tidy and organized, so I'm going to assume he's one of the mods who does cleaning on the boards. Creates useful threads and likes content as opposed to useless rubbish. Anime specialist, but not VN-hophobic.
Enemy of spam and useless posts, Down is an otherwise knowledgeable guy, and as is par for the course, nice.

-Thanks for being organized in an otherwise mess of a lax environment.

Nosebleed, the guy who interacts the most with the rest of the community, all around friendly. Acting professionally is something he tries to do when moderating and courageously fails. But that's all nice and dandy. People love him all the same.

-Thanks for being a really nice guy, as if all the others weren't already.

Kaguya. I have no idea what the heck he is. He has told stories of his moderator duties but I have never seen him moderate myself. He also seems like a guy with a head on his shoulders. Yet another thing I've never seen him use. All I have is myths and legends. I look forward to one day seeing you do stuff. (All the trolling [with a positive connotation, nothing prejudicial] and spamming he has done has been omitted for the sake of leaving this gentleman in a positive light )

-Thanks for all the work behind the scenes, which I'm sure you do as you'd otherwise be useless and I'm supposed to thank and congratulate you people.

Beato, I've seen very little of this lurker. But it seems like she knows things and helps fix a variety of visual novel issues. Good.

-Thanks for knowing things and fixing other people's troubles.

Mr Poltroon got a reaction from LiquidShu in Sekai Project Official Grisaia Translation?
Seems like a good day to revive a dead topic, don't you think? Fantastic weather, if I do say so myself.

Sekai Project has clarified a bit of information on the Grisaia no Kajitsu release we'll be getting, and so, I've aggregated everything I've found.
    -It'll be released on Steam.
-It'll be the Vita version. It'll not have H-Scenes. It'll instead have extra scenes.

    ---------
    ->No 18+ Patch plans
    http://sekaiproject.tumblr.com/post/97546989591/since-youll-be-releasing-the-all-ages-version-of
They state Steam doesn't let them release an 18+ patch. Probably a misunderstanding referring to upgrading the game on steam since this goes against an earlier statement by another member of staff (Raymond Qian - RQ on the Sekai Tumbler, who also answers some questions, note the signature):
    https://twitter.com/dobacco/status/496741478337482753
Also note that that statement was made back in August, on twitter. It is liable to inaccuracy's and mistakes.

->The Version on Steam will be the Vita

Here they talk about how it's going to be the Vita version.
This Vita version was made by the same company who made Grisaia in the first place. It does not have H-Scenes, it instead has extra scenes.
This is an image of the game that is being brought to Steam (no H-Scenes):
    NSFW

    https://twitter.com/dobacco/status/486377261679919104

    ---------
    Now for my personal opinion.
Releasing a game with H-Scenes on Steam would probably do more harm than good (not to mention it wouldn't be allowed in the first place), so I'm very pleased with the fact that it'll be the Vita version.
At least for now, it appears the staff's either divided or their plans have changed since back in August, no uncensored version is in sight, probably since there is nothing to uncensor, as the story has been rewritten to not include said scenes in the first place.
That image is also clear proof that the adult humor isn't going anywhere, so the story won't be hurt there.
The main, story-wise problem with this version is Amane's route, who actually uses the H-Scenes for something useful. It was written by Frontwing, so I'll just have blind faith myself.

Finally, I'll just say this. If it does turn out to be a problem, the fans can always do their magic and put H-Scenes back in.
The version being put on Steam is for the masses, who wouldn't really know what they're missing. Not for us hardened fans who want H-Scenes everywhere for no good reason and have already read the bloody thing.
