Hmmm.
I managed to mount the main file OK and even the patch seemed to download fine, but when I clicked on io r2 en.exe I still got the same message.

I used Power2Go (DVD Burner) which probably wasnt the best thing to do.
I'll have a go with Daemon Tools like you said, no harm in trying.

I used an ISO file with the torrent someone mentioned on the site here.
I don't know how to take a picture of the screen, but it doesnt install now (previously it installed and ran but the ingame text came out like Webdings) :s

When I try clicking on Setup now (just tried a new ISO file today after clearing the old ones), I get:

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\ASGARD\?h?^?n?]revision+U\

The file name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

 

Weird...

 

For an English patch I used this one but it seemed to keep crashing saying it couldnt open the I0 r2_en.exe part when extracting the files.

I really want to read this but just can't seem to get it to work. I'm sure my system locale is set to Japanese, but every time I click on an exe. file, I get some kind of error message in Japanese with a red cross. I thought I mounted everything OK.

Hey,

I first discovered VN's playing the Ace Attorney games (OK I guess theyre not true VN's but similar) and loved them. Then I read 999 and Virtue's Last Reward, which had some of the best stories I've ever seen. Because of that I read Ever 17 which was also excellent.

I can get so involved with the characters and deep mysteries in the story.
I hope I can discover more VN's here.
