Funnerific reacted to Ruberick in Bokuten - Why I Became an Angel is now available on the MangaGamer store and Steam!
I guess it's a bit of a blurry line, but I remember liking kana - imouto and one or two corpse party game, ultimately doomed to fail, but at least trying in a way...
I thought Utsuge only defined the result, not how you got there and how you got there is the factor that matters for me most and why I hated Kira Kira.
Let me put it this way, I really connect to a struggle against inevitability, if the struggle only exists due to negligence and/or incompetence it becomes unbearably frustrating for me.

Another day, another big brain post by ange.
It's not exactly a bad thing for a hobby to be more closed off than others. There are plenty of VN communities.
      How about writing a book/manga/LN???

Yeah, well, that's what fan translation means, dude. Hello???   I think they're partially at fault for this. They could announce games only when they're closer to completion, not run update blogs, and not create things like discord servers where they're more easily exposed to toxicity.   I imagine it's the same for something like anime. Anyhow who studies Translation will have their teachers tell them that literary translation pays the least. It's just the way things are.
Not sure about this either. There are plenty of decent EVNs which are recognized by the community. But there's also a ton of games that are simply amateurish and sometimes try too hard to be Japanese.
This is BS. There is more stuff being released nowadays than ever before. I've talked with several Japanese learners who say that if VNs were translated at the same pace as they are now back when they started, they would never have started learning Japanese.
Had to re-read this a couple times to actually understand what you were trying to get at. Honestly, tell me what matters most: the amount of people you can talk to, or the quality of the discussions? I am completely fine with sharing my opinions with a restrict group of friends, though now and then I feel the urge to write a review or two. Perhaps you're the one at fault since you seem to enjoy sharing every little opinion you have with the wide world.

as i said in my comment, its just a "trick"...
just put the force linebreaks code before the cutted line/word, the code is as follow: \n
dont put the code during translation, you'll get tired with editing, so put it on proofreading or at the point you sure you dont make any translation mistake...

Well hello there Mina-san. I'm glad to see you've come to the experts to get some good advice when it comes to running a visual novel from Pulltop. Sadly, Mephisto is unable to join us this evening, but I'll definitely tell him you said hello!

Don't sweat it Mina! So how can I help you fine ladies this evening? I heard you need help running some of your company's games, is that true?

You'd be surprised how many people ask the same question Mina, so don't worry about it too much. You see, playing a moe porn game from Pulltop is a little unique. Not only do you need to change your unicode settings to Japanese, but you also need to change your format entirely! To give you an idea, here are some screenshots:

    Step 1:

    Step 2:

    Step 3:

    Step 4:

Easy as pie! If you follow those steps and make sure your game is set to a Japanese format, your problems should cease to exist.

That's kind of gross guys! But anyways, I hope this helps, and see you in the next tutorial!

Funnerific got a reaction from LanThief(HUN) in ( request) any good loli games?
http://vndb.org/v750 all as loli as can be, but only two routes are translated.
http://vndb.org/v1660 loli central heroine (though honestly she sometimes doesn't feel like one) but you have to do two other routes first to unlock hers.
http://vndb.org/v1474 loli central heroine but you have to do a whopping six routes before unlocking her short ending with 1 H-scene.

FYI central heroine means she appears in a good amount of scenes in common route AND other heroine routes and plays some role there.
    Also, no ears/tails here, sorry.

i mean, moenovel gets paid for their shit tls so how much worse can you do? so long as the final work is cohesive and remains true to the final translation, you should be good. dont be like grisaia and add shit you think would make the scene funnier or better. thats you projecting your own standards on others work.

Don't simply read through a grammar guide, you should make notes for everything to quickly refer to them later (plus it stimulates your memory as you write it down). DO NOT learn vocab using JLPT N's, aside from N5 and N4 just to get you started, unless you specifically need a JLPT certificate for something. You should read untranslated material (without machine translation), no matter how slow it goes at first, and add words you find to your vocabulary. You can use Memrise or Anki for that, as they would be very helpful in revising those words in a way that you don't spend too much time on those you remember and spend enough time with those you struggle. I personally would recommend grinding 2000 kanji in heaps before any vocab as that would let you overcome the biggest wall, but if you don't want to bother with that then simply use some program that adds furigana to text (idk which one to suggest, I've never used one but I think VNR does that).
    Never, ever use machine translation.

    いろんなユーザーを手伝うや教える経験があります。自分をあまり高評価しませんがmodとして案外相応しいであるかもしれません☆
    こんな感じですかね。僕のこともう知っていますからかなり長いやつは両方とももいやでしょう。

Hello, I might be inexperienced but please take care of me.
I'll do anything to become a mod. (I didn't say I would do anything.)
Well, I might be like this but I'm actually serious! (Maybe)
I have experience of helping and teaching various users. I don't really value myself high but I might be surprisingly suitable as a mod actually
Something like this maybe? You already know about me anyways so a long one would be annoying for both of us right.

what can I say, truly a masterpiece crafted with love and care and is truly and underappreciated gem, if I could choose what game I would want my children to see as the milestone of vns it would be this.
truly a remarkable vn for the whole family to enjoy, a tale of love, betrayal and drama only comparable to milestones such as the legendary key vn harmonia

Top 5, starting from the best:
    1. Maki Izumi
    2. Akino Hana
    3. Mizukiri Keito (I find that her voice sounds really natural)
    4. Fujimori Yukina
    5. Toono Soyogi (because of Yume)
Pending: Haruka Sora (I've barely read anything with her in it so far)

I would suggest putting everything by that writer "on high priority" He is known for it, though I've personally only played this one among his games, which indeed had multiple parting endings, including the true end:
Edit: actually, it's not really parting endings, just sad endings where the protag doesn't care about the heroine much.

Why are you making exactly the same thread again? Especially after seeing my reply in the old one?
As for getting different heroines, just pick the choices in favour of another heroine. I went Kazuha -> Touri -> Chikako -> Chihiro -> Ema. You can only get Chihiro after the first three, and Ema - after Chihiro.
