Martic got a reaction from DarkDarx in Kami no Rhapsody Translation by Rhapsody Translation (Full patch released)
I can’t thank you enough! Kamidori was the 2nd visual novel I ever played (Katawa Shoujo was the first) and when I realized there weren’t anymore Eushully games translated, I was a bit heart broken. I’m trying to learn Japanese, but in the mean time my 7 year wait is over.
I’m so freaking jazzed right now. Best of wishes, and have a sincerely good 2020. You rock!!

    Bunny Black

Bunny Black is the first of a trilogy developed by SofthouseChara, known for their unique simulation games. Every game they release is a simulator of anything from managing a Hot Spring resort to surviving on a deserted island. Unfortunately, this is their first game to be translated into English.

The English patch for this game was created by the hard working people at Seiha Translations. Big thanks to them for their hard work. They also plan to translate Bunny Black 2 and 3! As it is a fan translation, there are some mistakes here and there, but nothing major. I don't have any right to complain

Bunny Black (at least the first one) is more or less a simulation of being a minion to a demon. There is a hierarchy to work your way up, and the game is pretty addicting if not a bit grindy. The gameplay is traditional dungeon crawling, akin to King's Field.

This game is difficult at first, and some people may rage quit pretty early on due to it. After you gain some resources and get the hang of things, this game becomes a breeze (mostly.) If you follow the starting tips in this help topic, even if only as a guideline, then you should be well on your way to... raping women. A lot.

The rape in this game is very light. No mind break or guro(gory sex). If you have played Rance, it's a bit like that. Although in my opinion it is a little darker, but still not too bad. You can't avoid all of these scenes either, as when you rest to restore health and skill uses there is an H scene. Some are rape, some aren't. You can hold ctrl to skip through these quickly if you desire.

This guide is still a work in progress, and I rely heavily on the community to fill in the blanks, so feel free to leave any info or knowledge you think is relevant, or ask questions if what you need to know isn't covered in the guide.

    Dungeon Maps
Here are the links to each dungeon's maps. If your browser supports it, translate the pages to English. In Google Chrome, just right click and select Translate to English.

    Updates(Check back frequently)

Update #1: Compiled a list telling you how many H scenes are available for each female adventurer class. Also working on a skill list, but the tedium means it is updating slowly.

Update #2: Skill list mostly complete. Missing some max use info and  the English Patch names for some of the skills. I color coded the skill names to match their category color ingame. This will hopefully make the list easier to navigate.

    Update #3: Reformatted the guide.

Update #4: Skill list almost done. Just need the Seiha translation names for some skills, and the max uses for Poison Shot.

    Starting tips

-Don't gear yourself out in the beginning. Instead, focus on buying demons. Make sure to get a Heal Goo at first, and some type of tank (I recommend Werebear) Save up to get a Fairy quickly, as not only does it give you some magical prowess, but it is a competent healer. It also allows you to see yourself on the minimap.

-Make sure to do cleaning jobs and avoid battles until you have at least one Fairy, one Heal Goo (or another Fairy if you prefer), and two tanks (again, I recommend Werebears)

-When choosing a weapon, keep in mind that Spears, Daggers, and Shurikens will allow you to take skills from two skill trees. Dagger and Shuriken will allow you to use Edged and Ranged skills, while Spear will allow for Edged and Blunt. It is also worth noting that the ranged skill tree contains the only STR based full AOE skill in the game.

-In the Options menu, you should notice an option that controls auto saving. At default, it is set at 2. This means the game saves after every battle (even if you run away.)Don't be afraid to abuse this in order to save yourself some frustration/time.

-Do some grinding and you will be able to handle the Tower of Storms pretty easily. Just watch out when doing jobs in the next dungeon.

-Don't be afraid to leave a dungeon if you take a job and find it too hard. The job will not be affected, and you can come back to it later without any penalties.

-Watch out for cursed equipment. Once equipped, you can't unequip it without paying 1000 gold. They will also do continuous damage to you every turn in battle, so if you do accidentally equip one, remove it immediately. The best way to tell if equipment is cursed is to read the item description. If it sounds negative, it is probably cursed.

-You can use the arrow keys to move, or change the Key Configuration in the Options menu for a setup of your choice. I didn't notice this right away (oops!)

-You can assign your skills to something of a hotbar. In battle, if you go to your skills list and choose a skill, you can click one of the empty slots on your battle menu to shortcut the skill to it. You can only do this with 3 skills, and the top bar is an auto skill bar, meaning if you put your regular attack there, you can just click on an enemy and attack it without having to choose the option on your battle menu.

-If your demon dies in battle, you can rehire it at the shop (it will be at the top of the party list in red). The cost of this increases as it levels up, and also increases the more it dies.

-In terms of difficulty, from easiest to hardest, we have: Tower of Storms - Cave of Bueroza - Garden Lair - Overgrown Thicket/Frozen Wood - Cavern of Flames - Den of Malevolence - Overlord's Shrine. Cavern of Flames is ranked higher than Thicket and Frozen Wood due to having to have a specific type of demon in your party in order to move freely.

Thanks to Suzu Fanatic, it's now a little clearer what the tactics options in battle do exactly.

Attack- Focus on offense, but characters that can heal still might do so. All Out- All offense, none of your demons will heal. Survive- Demons will only use physical attacks, they will not heal or use magic of any kind. Standby- All of your demons will simply defend. If you are grinding last hits on female adventurers, this can make things go faster. Conserve- All demons that can heal will mainly focus on healing. All on One- All demons will attack the same enemy. Front Row- Your demons will only attack the back row. Back Row- Your demons will only attack the front row.

    Skill Point Allocation

Since you won't be able to max out all of your skills, here are my recommendations on what skills to get.

    Must Have:
Master of Unlocking- It's not required to max this, but put a few points in it. 80% of my equipment came from magic chests, and paying 1000 to unlock one is too much. If you so choose, you can abuse save states and open all the chests in your room, write down what the traps are, reload, and open them safely with no penalty. The traps are static and don't change, so this method will work. I used it about halfway through the game because some of the trap penalties are a little steep. (4000 gold if it's a bomb? Way overkill.) Combat Medic(and all spells it unlocks)- The AI is... unreliable at best when it comes to healing. For instance, with a team of 9 my healer was using the highest tier all heal spell whenever one character took a single point in damage. It's best to learn these yourself. Warp Magic- Don't max this skill, just raise it until you get Adv Warp Magic, since this lets you teleport anywhere you choose as opposed to randomly. Also put a point into Spatial magic, as this lets you exit the dungeon immediately. Weapon Skill- Whichever weapon skill tree you choose, put points into it early so you can unlock more weapon skills. I chose Edged weapons, and at level 5 you get a skill that hits the whole front row, which stays useful for most of the game. Charismatic- Probably the most important. Get this as early as possible, because once you max it you unlock skills that raise your whole party's stats by 5 (as a passive.) which you should also max. Recommended:
At least one type of magic- Choose an element you like, and raise it until you get the Piercing and Wide versions of it. Raise those until you get the Adv magic of that element. These skills will let you hit a column, row, and the whole field respectively. It's good to have as many AOE skills as possible.  Weapon/Magic Master- If you are a mage, choose magic obviously. These will strengthen all of your weapon/magic skills. Steadfast/Magic Resistant- If you are making Darx into a tank, max both of these ASAP. If not, then consider only raising these halfway. Chicken Heart- Pretty handy for emergency situations. Most games I don't recommend these types of skills, but here you will probably need it. Popular- You have to sink quite a few points into this, but with some of the higher costs towards the end of the game it is worth it. Good Haggler- As I have stated, I used magic chests for most of my equipment, so I recommend this over VIP treatment. If you choose to sell chests, then get VIP treatment instead. Quick Learner- This one is up to you. I'm about 70% through the game, and with some grinding am already level 99 (max level). I did max this skill pretty early on, but if you don't want to reach max level too early you might consider only raising it halfway, or not at all.  Avoid:
Vanishing Act- As far as I can tell, this skill does nothing. I used it four times in a row and it didn't do a thing. Appraiser- It only costs 100 to appraise at the shop, and you will be going there to sell loot anyways so there's no reason to take this. You might be able to justify this if you only take the first level early in the game when you are broke, but at that point you will need other skills more than this. Status Effect magic- There virtually 0 application for these. Most battles will end too quickly for these to make a difference. I feel as though the same can be said for stat buffs (I never used them) but not to the degree that I would say to avoid them. Medicine Man- Perhaps it's just me, but I never use healing items. So this skill is pretty useless. You can put some points into it if you use healing items, but otherwise don't bother. Any of the skills that aren't listed each have their uses depending on your build and/or patience. After the first bit when you are gathering resources the game gets much easier, so keep that in mind when figuring out which skills to take as well.

The main indicator you should check for is the total. That one counts every single line regardless of where it is located. When that one reaches 100%, then it's translated. There is still editing and other quality improving tasks left though.

I'm thinking about how to present status in the future. Adding line after line of 100% is not really useful. Also the listing is incomplete because declaring everything with descriptions of what goes where will spoil. However this isn't my top priority and this will have to do, at least for a while.

Martic reacted to DharmaFreedom in Dies Irae 18+ Patch?
I thought that Dies Irae was a pretty enjoyable read. There aren't a lot of visual novels of its kind that's been translated, so it was a refreshing experience. It had pretentious depth to it , you get the feeling like the writer just got sucked into this world he created. I didn't mind the pretentiousness, its nice to have some variation to stories. Also with all the references to religion, culture and history, its the kind of story that'll promote further reading of the subjects mentioned.
Oh like clephas mentioned, i think a lot of people just started nitpicking because Dies Irae was so hyped and people were mentioning stuff like "best Vn ever!" etc. Personally I didn't find anything wrong with it, I loved the characters [va's were great!] , the music, the art, the banter, references, relationships, mystery, reveals and well, the whole grandiose play, to put it simply.
There can never be a perfect story that satisfies everyone that reads it. People will always nickpick and sure they have the right to do so. Personally, in regards to stories, I rather not sweat the small stuff and just enjoy the ride. I mean I did choose to get on, and there's ample information about the kind of ride it is .
This Vn will most likely make you feel and think about all sorts of things. Its a rainbow .
I read the all ages version and for this particular story I don't think h-scenes were necessary, its all about the dialog and the dialog does a good job of painting a clear picture of the characters relationships. Its definitely worth reading without the h content. I pretty much forgot about the 18+ version shortly after I started reading, the story pulled me in .
    Cheers!

Martic reacted to Infernoplex in Dies Irae 18+ Patch?
I think I saw the mention of 18+ patch on Dies irae's discord channel but I thought it should have been released by the end of this month? xD Nevertheless, even without H-scenes, Dies irae is one of the most amazing VNs I had read so far and I can understand why many people didn't like it (despite me finding it amazing, I agree with the popular opinion in the community that the villain cast is more interesting than the good guys xD). I'd recommend you play it even if the H-scenes don't come out soon, you can check H-CGs on the net, it's nothing special and some of those even looked too forced in my opinion so you aren't missing that much without seeing them. You'll easily make a deduction on where an H-scene should have popped out, (there's maybe like 13 or so H-scenes in the entirety of Dies irae ... most of the time you'll be enjoying real chuuni plot than H-scenes which mostly look bad, except maybe the ones for Marie).
Since you mentioned SubaHibi in one of the posts later, I'd like to mention that while both Dies irae and SubaHibi were overhyped - only Dies irae felt to me like it delivered on the hype. SubaHibi was very good but not a "kamige"-tier VN in my opinon. Also, you can enjoy Dies irae even if you don't have any background on philosophical stuff, while SubaHibi on the other hand ... Well, you can enjoy it to a certain degree but after that, it gets weaker once it starts revealing its mysteries (I at least found those parts weaker). I guess it's a real "kamige" only if you really understand the philosophical backgrounds behind it. So to wrap up what I wanted to say here ... Dies irae is more likely to be enjoyed than SubaHibi if you don't have any background knowledge on philosophical matters.

Ha, that's true. I just want something good to read that I can get absorbed into. I'm enjoying Subahibi alright, and I've wanted to read ToHeart 2 since I was 13 (10 years ago). I saw the anime trailer on an old OnDemand type service, and when I looked into it I discovered visual novels for the first time. Might not be worth a 10 year wait, but hey, it's about time.
As for Dies Irae, I've hear great things before the translation, and I'm excited to read something in a genre I don't have much experience with.

Martic reacted to Clephas in Dies Irae 18+ Patch?
Nothing I've heard of so far... and it isn't that people don't like it.  It is more like everyone nitpicks or has their favorite axe to grind.  Also, over-hyping.  I love Dies Irae... but I never named it my favorite VN.  In Japanese, it was an exhilarating read that stretched my knowledge of grammar and vocab when I originally read it (before the Amantes version came out).  In English... it kind of feels like they tried too hard to keep every aspect of Masada's style when they translated it at times, though it is still a fairly good translation (edit: as translations go, that is).
Anyway, I'm  more or less resigned to waiting until December or later for my physical copy, and the 18+ definitely won't release on time, based on my experiences with vndb dating where there isn't a solid day set.
Edit: I honestly am not in a hurry... but then, I played the ero-version before I played the later, non-ero ones, so I know what to expect.  Light's h-scenes tend to be hit or miss... some are really good, some are funny, and some are outright boring.  Dies Irae's h-scenes tend to be vanilla outside of the fact that it is sex under stress.  The exceptions are Kei's h-scenes, which I thought were hilarious... and Rusalka's, of course.

I get why Herkz is salty and it does seem kinda bullshit how they wouldn't allow the old team to continue their work, but he's assuming that no effort is being expended to pick things up where the old team left off, despite having no actual knowledge of what FW is doing. What he's saying is possible, but it still seems like a rather shaky position from which to tell everyone not to buy the game. FW has a good track record for TL quality post-chiruchiru, so I suspect that they wouldn't want to release Subahibi in such a shoddy state.

To each of their own in regard of Majikoi announcement I guess, either think that it was redundant or looking forward to the release. Although once again I'm in redundant side here though.
As for JAST, I admit that you had point that they were the first company that brought VNs translated first. But if I might something, I agree with Sanahtlig that they business model was outdated because they didn't adapt with current VN localization business like Mangagamer, or even Sekai. Their business model might be good at 2000's in regard of VN localization, but it wouldn't do any good right now (Except for people who want to collect any physical edition of the VNs). Note that JAST still release their VNs along with physical copy, while both of Mangagamer and Sekai was preparing lthe download version for their VNs first.
By the way, since @Shioxus stated in regard of afraid with JAST announcement, yes I also experienced that when Peter Payne registered as VNDB user and asking about Majikoi translator there which mean that there's a chance that Majikoi would be licensed by JAST (Of course it mean that we could gonna had Majikoi release date delayed even further). Here's the thread in regard of Peter Payne at VNDB.

Regardless it seems they've been announcing a bunch of stuff (no sign of Baldr yet though).

Because "Sekai Project" doesn't sell 18+ VNs, "Denpasoft" does. They're still pretty careful with that division. Still, I think it's pretty safe to assume that they are releasing 18+ versions for most or all of the ones that have 18+ versions in Japan. They are for Dracu-Riot and Senren Banka.

From the way it looks, I wouldn't be surprised if we see almost all of Moonstone's VNs from Imouto Paradise onward (except maybe Eroge Bu which I don't really care about anyways) kind of seems like they are just working down the list at this point with the order of releases.
I don't think i would mind too much if they skipped Demon Busters (though the pervert in me says otherwise) and announced Natsu Nostalgia some time next year as the next Moonstone release. In an ideal world they would skip Ojou-sama and go straight to Sakura no Mori Dreamers after that. I imagine they most likely won't skip Ojou-sama though...
I could be way off base with that announcement order of course

Happy about Evenicle and Damekoi .  Honestly I'm happy with any game announcement by most of the established Vn companies [the ones with proper translators to be precise]. The more choices the better for everyone. I'm even interested in JAST, maybe they'll announce that they're expanding and hiring more people to work on the Vns they have? maybe they'll up their game in some way, nobody knows what they'll be announcing so anythings possible lol.
Can't say i've ever been dissapointed of these expo announcements, I might not be interested in some but f-it, at least everyone gets a taste lol. The steam crowd, the casuals, the elites and everyone in between, we all just want to read some Vns man .
Ps: got 'awww' triggered by Korropokkuru, still reading D.I and Shiro called Kasumi that a few times, freaking cute. They translated it munchkin, but it means fairy or something right? anyway, its a cute word .
