Wow, that semantics thing really blew up.
One of the big unknown factors I had was the quality of the translation, though I myself don't know Japanese and probably wouldn't notice a difference I would still ideally prefer the best translation so I can read the closest thing to the original story. It seems like the translation is pretty much the same with a few minor differences that I probably wouldn't even notice (except spelling errors but that's just a problem all the time). Cropping really doesn't bother me that much but it is poorly done in some cases. Usually when I have an option to play a game with or without H-scenes I always go for the version with h-scenes because it's the original  I'm a horny bastard.
So far my list of pros and cons are
Sekai TL
+Better Aspect ratio
+Better backgrounds
+Choice to have voiced or unvoiced (some people view this as a con but it's really nice to have the option in my opinion)
-Cropped CG's
- No Hentai
 
Fan TL
+ Hentai
+ Uncropped CG's (it's nice to have the full artwork I must admit)
-Shit resolution
Honestly it seems like both versions of the game are not by any means bad, it's pretty much like picking between the adult and all-ages version of a VN except that all-ages has a better resolution.

In my opinion it's not too much like Battlefield but it's not too much like Battlefront either. I would have preferred a game more like the original battlefront games with space battles and finding actual vehicles instead of tokens. More maps would also be really awe- [YOU MUST PURCHASE THE ADDITIONAL COMMENT DLC IN ORDER THE VIEW THE REST OF THIS COMMENT].

There are things that feel urgent but actually aren't important in the long run. There likely is time you're spending each day doing stuff you actually don't care about. For me it's browsing reddit and facebook (when I'm unmotivated) or playing random games. You can make an effort to pull time from there.
If after that you still have a list of things that are kinda important to you, it's up to you to decide which ones are more important to you. If VN's are your "me time" then by all means take some.
You could also try and look for ways to keep doing both activities, but trying to get the most out of the time.
 

Mayo Chiki and Kore wa zombie Desu ka are pretty decent. Another good sort of haremish anime is Noucome, which is probably also one of the funniest anime.
To Love-Ru is also probably one of the best harem series.

Every single time America entered the Middle East, they leave the place worse then before they entered. It’s been an unfortunate mistake.
America has done a lot of good things, but they helped destabilise the Middle East in many different, consequence-filled ways. And some people inside those countries are seeking to take advantage and take power. It's what happens *shrugs*

I would bet money that it's ISIS but the skeptic in me won't fully make the assumption until someone actually takes credit or if reasonable evidence outside of the anecdotal is presented. Even if it's not ISIS it's probably some extremist group.

I'm pretty indifferent to it, couldn't really care less. It makes sense for a good chunk of VN's because they take place in high school and the characters are still young. When heroines are older though it makes sense for them not to all be virgins at that point, though it's not completely impossible.
Yea, for anal I'm really glad that they don't step up on that realism thing.

To be honest I was lost pretty early in this thread. Mainly because I don't know about english market nor fapanese market.
But, since the topic is "around the world", I'll talk about french market ^^.
The thing is, right now, the vn community in France is growing, and so the number of tl project is increasing.
The french are really interested in Japan, though it's mainly because of the manga, there is really a guenuinely interest for Japan as a whole. And even if it's a niche market people will run into VN if they go to Akiba.
French people may be less biased toward 18+ content, because of the manga market deeply implanted in France (so there is a certain number of H-manga here in plain sight)
I often talk about VN around me, even with non-otaku friend, but I never get the "ewww" reaction. I even made few of them trying without asking them to do so.
Well maybe it's me being donkan, or having a special trait or, and it's likely that, they're not bothered by the subject itself.
The point is it's possible to get a "real" VN market in France without relying on Steam.
Actually, right now, I'm mounting a project which could change the VN market in France.
 
But the main problem is that it's over-shadowed by english. Since most people under 30 here know english, why bother to tl in french?

In conclusion I think that if we do "our job" right, France can have a good VN market.
(oddly enough I feel like what I just wrote make no sense.....  )

This chart is a freaking joke. You may not like excessive sex scenes/themes but nukige is a classification of visual novel, no matter how you bible thump the shit out of it. 
If nukige or other vns genres you deemed unnecessary are included in this chart, it would make more sense as nukige makes up a good portion of all translated and localized vns. As much as you hate it, a good majority of all vns have some kind of suggestive theme that is sexual in nature and there's really no avoiding that. You can castrate yourself or not masturbate to vns ever, but one of the top reasons why people read vns is for the sex and there's absolutely NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Blazblue: Calamity Trigger has a lot of annoying choices that you must make to 100% the story such as: winning the battle, losing the battle, winning without using any specials and picking the right combination of choices.
This was by far the most annoying VN that I have played to fully complete the game.

After having read the reddit post, I really do have to agree that this specific community (the VN community) is very easily offended and quick to overreact over every little thing. I remember when all the FuwaMods swapped their forum avatars with each other's and they suddenly got called out for being unprofessional and immature. Like what the fuck lol. Mods aren't allowed to have a bit of fun now? I don't know what attributes to this - maybe it's because a majority of the fanbase are literally teens - but it's ridiculous how butthurt people get over nothing

Fate/Stay Night is a pretty good choice. It's worth a read even if you have seen the anime and you can choose if you want the all-ages or h-scene version.

It was alright. I can tell they learned allot from Angel Beats and decided not to have a huge cast and lots of hanging plot-lines. I still feel that allot of things were rushed though, I would have been happy if they ended it on episode 12 because episode 13 just seemed so rushed. 

Overall though I found the show to be an enjoyable experience. Tomori may even top as one of my favorite KEY heroines.
