  1. I find this hilarious. Japan gets an English localization group to allow a popular VN to be sold outside of the country, then turns it around and makes their own localization group for an outside market knowing that most Japanese groups will stick to them since they know the industry on a local level. Classic Japanese otaku market money grab if you ask me. Sunrise did the same thing with Love Live (and those Panama Papers), so none of this surprises me one bit. On the other hand, the concept of "Japan Sales Only" is slowly becoming more and more lenient, so I do respect the country for that at least. Now if only Japan can see that Blu-ray sales at 6,000 yen a volume for 3 episodes need to stop and paid services for anime need to become a thing...
  2. With how much money Love Live earns Sunrise, it doesn't surprise me one bit that they would avoid taxes with a haven. Expected.
  3. Did you just post in the confession thread?
  4. The GMs can help? Hmm... > Audrey Fan Club > Forums broken for 2 days after messing with ACP @Nosebleed
  5. Yuzusoft games always include characters from previous games. Dracu-riot! also includes Mirai from Danny Choo: Me and Danny chilling in Shinjuku: It also has Noble Works characters in the fountain scene. Hinata, Maya, and Mashiro.
  6. Suddenly, I don't feel as awful about the Aokana translation mistake I made. Strange. I can't wait to read the 5 language patch coming in 3 weeks.
  7. @The Major made a me a ton of banners for visual novel plays. Here are some of them that I still have: You can simply remove the text that isn't the title of the game, and I think he can also link of the banners from his album. I'm talking to you @The Major. Also, if you can use these in any way, I think I finally found a purpose for them: I'd be more than willing to edit the lines on these and spend some extra time making adjustments.
  8. Pretty much every moege ever. 30+ upcoming anime this year are set in a high school. There is literally a gold mine of your request.
  9. I heard a very interesting story on the radio today on my way home from work. China recently held a marathon for runners who, upon finishing the race, received gift bags with scented soaps. Each one of the soaps had English labeling on them. It turns out that a lot of runners are very hungry and thirsty after completing a long marathon of over 10 miles (16 kilometers). It turns out they ate the soaps assuming they were some form of food. A lot of the runners got sick and threw the soap all over the streets, half eaten. I found this story interesting because it seems to me that China (which can also relate to Japan) doesn't seem to understand the importance of properly labeling things if you are using foreign words. I connected this with the poor use of English all over the country and why Japan specifically doesn't care how bad they butcher the language in anime and other material. I just don't get it: what is so cool about English anyways? We treat Japanese like a gift of the gods, yet Japan falls head over heels for English. Sure, it's just soap, but getting sick because of poor labeling is just sad. Is that the full reason? Probably not, but had the packaging been in Chinese or had this been addressed to the participants of the marathon beforehand, it could have been avoided. We care so much about the accuracy of TLs in the English community, yet it seems to be the opposite around the world. You'd think there would be a little more common sense being used in this example. Better yet, who gives people scented soaps as a marathon reward? Seriously. Anyways, thoughts? Not specifically on this story, but language accuracy in general.

  11. It's okay everyone, if Insem trolls the entire world again we can all rest assured knowing that a quality TL formed out of pure hate for selling the game to Sekai Project without any form of Atlas/Google translate will be released for Aokana on April 20th in 5 (that's right 5!) different languages. That's faster than any professionally hired translator I have ever seen in my entire life, let alone a translator of 5 different languages. What an incredible team! :')
  12. Just a quick reminder because I couldn't fall asleep: always remember who made that amazing egg activity. That's right, it was the joker himself! Heck yes I gave away those 2 copies of Clannad. Ask @Cyrillej1, she knows.
  13. Her helmet looks like it says "anal." Simply stunning.
  14. I had to come back to say this. We all knew what we wanted. We all knew we wanted high school horse racing girls. But that's not all! We needed them to be idols as well. I would like all you to look back on this day in the near future when you're old and dying. Look back and remember the day that you lived to see an anime being made about high school, horse racing girls who are also world class idols. Not only do we get to watch girls being treated like literal animals, but we also get to bet on them. Human trafficking? Absolutely. Simply stunning. We don't need anything else.
  15. Hey everyone! Fantastic news from the Aokana TL front! The private Facebook group has been working extremely hard to release the game for all of you, and I just wanted to update all of you on their progress: A common route on April 20th of 2016 in 5 different languages? Look forward to it! If you'd like to read the game early, feel free to support this amazing group. In addition, the project leader (who was very upset about seeing the project sold to Sekai Project and seemed to fuel his project out of pure hatred for the one I was running) plans to pitch their TL to sprite: Good luck guys, and see you on the TL scene!
  16. It's a VN; way ahead of you: https://aokanatranslation.wordpress.com/2016/03/25/aokana-update-week-1-5
  17. Assembling this figurine took me 2 hours; it was extremely difficult and fragile: I'm also a huge fan of Imagekind. The rules behind what is acceptable to print and the price for each purchase is extremely appealing. To give you an example: @Zenophilious: Here is that image I promised from a stream I did awhile ago. I decided to post it in here since it was in this album and saves me time:
  18. I would definitely be interested. As someone who really wants to learn an 8th language, loves language and culture as a whole, and has lived in the country and is heading back there next year in March of 2017 to teach again, I really want to get the ball rolling in motivating myself to study Japanese. I'm sure you've also seen my YouTube channel and really want to learn more about the language so I can give back to the community a lot more than I feel I am doing now. I live in MN and work 40 hour weeks as well, meaning my off time fits perfectly for when you'd like to do this since we essentially work the exact same schedule. I'd be more than willing to explain my reasons for wanting to learn it in addition to everything I listed above. Let me know! Here is my Skype ID if I haven't already added you: tomoka09 (OriginalRen)
  19. A friend from Japan mentioned this one to me. Very well animated: That "beeping" sound when the fries are being made is the same exact noise in real life. This is actually spot on for how the chain looks and functions in Japan.
