  1. No Ryoji, if you had Beta tapes you'd be old, VHS just means we're "seasoned" LOL

What?? Oh I didnt mention that. I have a few Beta tapes, but they are mostly anime movies that have crappy sound and video. Why anyone ever thought Beta taped were a good idea is beyond me.

  2. Do you have any fansub VHSs that you got by mail? That's how I got my 1st VHS fansub of the Macross Movie DYRL, which I dearly wanted to see because I was a fan of Robotech. Somebody copied the LD onto the tape and manually added fansubs.

That's why I don't have a MAL yet, it seems like when I looked at it there was no way to import anything, you just had to keep clicking on things one at a time to add it, right?

Yea I have quite a few Fansub VHS tapes. I have a collection of FanSub Ramen1/2 VHS tapes that are just bad but are awesome in their own way.

In regards to MAL, yeah, its a pain in the ass to create a list. I Use MAL Updater, which is good for adding anime as you watch. Other then that, yep, one anime at a time.

  3. So do you have a large bookcase where all your commercial anime DVDs/blurays go? Or are they piled in drawers?

Do you have fansubs on DVDRs or BD-Rs in individual cases, or a big carrying case with sleeves? Or just a stack of hard drives? Do you have a RAID system?

    Are they in alphabetical order?

How do you track what you have, and what you've seen? MAL or some other online site?

Do you keep and do you track multiple versions of the same show or movie?

Are you more organized than me? It probably wouldn't take much...

Wow what a great thread. I just noticed it so wanted to give a reply.

As my collection is pretty large I have multiple book shelves and display cases that I use. For my LD collection they are stored like my Vinyl is. Hard to display as it would take multiple cases and room to do so. I also have a large VHS collection (i know, i know im old) so they are stored in bookshelves, as is my DVD and BluRay collection. Everything is organized Alphabetically (for the most part)

My wife has made a catalog of our collection, although it needs to be updated. That is then transferred to my MAL, which is a work in progress. (no where near finished)

I also have multiple external hard drives that store backups for portability.

  4. Good choice good choice. The episode at the beach...oh man you didn't die of laughter kudos to you :P/>/>

I just started watching Amagami SS since I can't get my hands on a english patch for the game. It's pretty funny and I can relate to the guys situation making it even better, Ahh the SoL genre has stolen my heart. Im sorry comedies :(/>/>

I enjoyed Amagami SS a lot. Slice of Life is definitely the genre that I seem to watch the most (lately)

  5. Well, I didn't, but I'm still young to this :P/>/>/>/> And I spend way too much time wandering forums and blogs, that's why I heard of those but didn't actually watch them yet. I was merely pointing out that I know several people who did watch them because those animes are known in certain circles of fans, whereas I'm pretty sure close to no one saw some of the other stuff on your list and discussed it =p

Now if we're only talking about this forum, yeah, besides you, Eldin, and maybe one or two more discreet members, I doubt anyone have watched 70-80 animes that aren't ultra-well known.

Eldin has not stated that he has seen these anime. While I feel foolish for the mistakes, which were many, I still havnt heard him say hes seen these anime. Since he is SLACKING in regards to creating a MAL account (which he seriously needs to do NOW) its unknown what his true knowledge is.

(If you guys knew the meds im on youd be more understanding lol)

Edit: Thank you Eldin, you have motivated me to complete my MAL. I hope you will make one, as I truly want to see what your knowledge is.

  6. you named glass mask twice in the same post >.>

the underlined titles were also named twice. I feel short changed. Ideon was even listed three times.

So you havnt heard of them?? Or youve heard of them, but have you actually WATCHED them? Regardless of the meds im on or my mistakes(Which apparently there are many) , thats not the point. You can point out my mistakes but please say weither or not you know the anime (actually heard of and watched)

TBH, I haven't seen them but Ideon, Tetsujin 28-Go and God Mazinger are rather known. (Well at least they're not ultra-obscure like the rest of the list)

Ideon because it's directed by Tomino (Gundam's author), God Mazinger because it's directed by Go Nagai (who did, well, Mazinger >_>) and Tetsujin 28-Go is the anime of what is probably the very first Giant Robot manga ever.

Not a lot of people here are familiar with them. I feel silly for posting the same anime more then once, its the meds im on lol. That list is all anime from the 80's (maybe 1 or 2 from 78-79). The list of people who actually WATCHED them is very low. You may of heard of them but have you watched them??

This list are all anime I actually own, in one form or another.

  7. And really thanks once more on warm welcome it really was a pleasant surprise. I wonder if I was in the wrong kind of forums till now as I am use to Admins welcoming members something like this "follow the rules and we won't have problems" :D/>

This is a friendly community and we want our members to feel welcome. One thing you'll learn right away, we are not like other forums. :)

If you have any questions or anything, just let us know!!

EDITED - wow Meds+thinking=FUBAR! Thank you to Eldin for pointing out just how medicated I was.

  11. my list has changed. Maou-san has replaced Desert Punk, which thinking back really shouldn't have been on that list in the first place...

wow really?? Would love to see your MAL I'm curious what anime you have and haven't seen.

Edit: in other words, Make one!!!!!

  12. Last episode was a little weak, but a nice calming episode full of the witty writing that made me love the show so much. I certainly look forward to season 2 if it happens.

Maou-sama was also my 100th anime entry on MAL. Certainly worthy of it.

    grats on reaching 100 anime!!

  13. Just finished Maou-sama and it easily got a 9 from me. It is such a well written, well paced show. Every episode felt like it was 5 minutes, it was that much fun.

Last episode certainly seems to leave it open for a season two.

We also go this incredible line that made me giggle quit a lot.

    3pW6C.png

I just saw it as well, but to me the last episode was a bit flat. Great show, but episode 13 could of been so much better.

    Season 2 is coming. Probably spring/summer 2014
