Minamoto-kun Monogatari (a borderline hentai manga series): Every single moment that I read the series pissed me off, it's just soo desrespectful to the female sex (this is coming from a guy who plays a subway molestation simulator, and likes it). I just want to beat the shit outa the protagonist, but what bothers me the most is how highly the series is rated . I could hit the random button on pururin or fakku and it would be a 80% chance that the hentai that would pop up would have a better story. 
 
Ergo Proxy: That ending pissed me off soo much, it was a giant middle finger to anyone who watched the series. It nearly turned me off of anime forever.
 
Steins;Gate: As much as I love the anime, I just can't stand Faris when she is in her Nyan-Nyan mode.
 
Hayate the Combat Buttler (manga): Everytime another character is introduced, JUST STOP IT ALREADY!!!! You already got a great cast to work with and many of the pre-existing characters could use some development.
 
Kemono no Shoujo Erin: Those constant flashbacks of Erin's Mom dying. WE GET IT, THE BITCH IS DEAD, WE WERE THERE.
 
The Pilot's Love Song: The whole fucking anime pissed me off.
 
Mekakucity actors: None of the bad endings from the songs/light novels/manga were adapted, I get shaft only had 12 episodes to work with.... but, the bad endings are pretty much the best part (see the "outer science" music vid on youtube or my profile pic ). 
 
Your lie in April: The amazing unamed plot convinent disease/virus/birthdefect/std strikes again!
 
Golden Time: Tada, I get that you have a thing for that "bimbo", but you are a asshole for defending her AFTER SHE PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED A GAL DUE TO PLAIN JEALOUSY.
 
Oreshura/Asura Cryn': In both the protagonist makes a definitive choice of which gal will be his sweet heart and than gos back on their word and becomes a indecisive prick and the end of each anime.

I haven't had much time to post lately, but earlier this week I received the Momo I had ordered.  At a scale of 1/6 she is pretty big compared to the other figures I have, and she's by far the sexiest figure I got.
 



 
I also ordered Gift's amazingly detailed Saber Lily by Satoshi Toda, along with the Type Moon 10th Anniversary Phantasm artbook.

I really did not notice the first time I played it but there are way too many H-scenes in Majikoi S. I want to read this route mostly for the story with just a couple of H-scenes to brighten the mood but there is more H than story at this point. The route I am in has had about 5 H-scenes in the 3 hours that I have been playing. At some point I went from 1 H-scene to the next to the next with a less than 5 minute interval. The H-scenes are long too. Some of them are more than 15 minutes. At this rate my body will give out before I can get the final line. 
I regret nothing.

DO IT! Travel to Japan as soon as possible! I went for 2 weeks last year and loved every minute of it. Went to Kyoto, Osaka, Hakone and Tokyo, also visited Akihabara about 5 times XD. Can't wait for April as I'm going again for 10 days.

That culture you speak of though is what makes Japan so unique. As a language major, to me it is with no doubt easy to say that "language is culture, and culture is language." The distinct difference in Japan between the Honne (本音) and Tatemae (建前) is what makes it such a different beast. Sure, the younger generation (I guess my generation) is exposed to the outside world now so the culture has adapted similar ways of doing things (as you said drinking, hanging out with friends, etc.), but the cultural concepts I mentioned still exist.
 
The Tatemae (建前). In American culture, the prescribed answer for the rhetorical "How are you doing?" is always "Fine thanks" or something similar. Most will be taken off guard by a truthful answer and were not intending to invest so much into that unit of the interaction in the first place. The same goes in the Japanese culture. The term of a "white lie" comes into play here, knowing full well that Japanese people will go out of their way to make sure people understand their life is going well, even if it isn't. It's very rare for a Japanese person I met to open up to me about problems in life, much like we do here in my culture. If anything, when I would tell a story about a problem I was facing (for the day or month, whatever), Japanese people would basically respond in ways that are apologetic. They would understand that what I am going through must be tough, yet they wouldn't really offer advice or share their own stories and would just respond with the "Fine thanks" idea. Again, this isn't to say that the culture is always like this, but still.
 
The difference between cultures here therefore lies in the idea that American culture as well as many others are much more open to opinions. If I hate my boss at work and think it sucks balls, I will tell my family and friends the truth, straight out.  Japan on the other hand usually doesn't open up that way unless they are drinking with friends. In fact, this difference in expressing opinions is what made a friend of mine I met in Tokyo have trouble with an English exam he needed to pass in order get into a university over in America. He had trouble on the written portion of the exam, where the test asks you opinionated questions (easy ones with no prior knowledge needed) and whether you disagree or agree with something. He had trouble even knowing where to begin or how to form his own opinion on the matter.
 
I think that's what makes the culture unique. So while you say that it's just a different place with a different culture, it really is cool. But anyways, language major rant. Lawl.
