  1. @BLVCK I could have been a lot easier to track what dependencies you lack if you installed the VN via PlayOnLinux instead of directly installing it via Wine itself. I admit my posts are old but you could refer to them if it helps... Muv Luv installation & Grisaia no Kajitsu If you have winetricks installed, you could launch it and install the fonts or you could just copy over the fonts from a windows installation ( more preferably a Win 7 or Post-Win 7 to get updated fonts) as previously stated in the thread.
  2. I see you referred to my tutorial... Nice Btw, Nice job there. Never knew you could actually back up those save files
  3. Age, ..... Muv Luv photon melodies PV : http://5pb.jp/games/muvluv/fm/melodies/movie/
  4. Hi there! Glad there's someone else who's interested in making tutorials for playing VN on Linux. I've made two of them already. Basically, most of them involves running Windows VN through WINE. You can check it out here : https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/3675-grisaia-no-kajitsu-on-linux-using-wine/ - Grisaia no Kajitsu https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/3603-running-muv-luv-alternative-on-linux/ - Muv-Luv Alternative
  5. Have a check on my guide in this link : https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/3675-grisaia-no-kajitsu-on-linux-using-wine/ Might be some help there . Btw, please tell me how did you installed the game in the first place and your system specs.
  6. Sorry for the late reply.. Kinda busy these days. What script to be precise? The command to launch Muv-Luv?
  7. Well, running a visual novel in a Windows virtual machine would definitely increase my chances of successfully running with intended results. Although this might be more beneficial, I would prefer to stick to Wine. Most VN tend to run perfectly in Windows since they're originally made for Windows, not that Wine can't run VN or any other games too http://appdb.winehq.org/. Try running a VN made for Linux on Linux distro. It will practically work out-of-the-box. Basically, it comes down to preference. If you have resource, enough computing power and would not want any compromise on any performance hiccups, you could use a VM. Wine was built to allow & simplify installation of windows program. Since Wine is all ways undergoing development, it's sometimes unstable at times but mostly reliable. Anyways, using a VM only to run a VN seem like a waste of resources , don't you think ?
  8. Thanks! But most VN these days are a hit-or-miss with this method. Take your time to tweak things carefully. Sometimes just one package might be the reason why the VN would not run.
  9. Dude, It's not even released.... Check the home button. It says 24/4/2014...... on PS3
  10. Well, at the very least, we'll see Takeru graduate with rest of the gang. Must be from the Altered Fable timeline.... http://5pb.jp/games/muvluv/fm/story/ And seems like they redesigned everyone's sprite....
  11. Basically, from Yuuko's Quantum Causuality theory, He did not actually lost it. Those experiences that him grow and achieve maturity, they're just floating around in some space unless he returns to that world.Am I right ?
  12. I expected Gouda to be sort of "difficult to kill" or maybe, an ace TSF pilot .In end of Akane Maniax, he transferred out of school into an athletic school. Thus, I assumed, in MLA, he might have transferred from UN army to the Imperial Army or something just like how Marimo somehow transferred from UN army to Imperial Army in MLU The Day After (http://muvluv.wikia.com/wiki/Jinguuji_Marimo ). If you watched Kimi ga Nozomu Eien / Rumbling Hearts, Takayuki (lead male) was sort of like Takeru at one point, wimpy and such... . The youtube link earlier showed Takayuki piloting a TSF like badass during Hesperus Operation (Yokohama Base). Now, we have 2 weak characters, Takeru & Takayuki which became awesome the moment they were in the MLA universe. Well, if Age is ever gonna use Gouda, they might slot him at the part after Takeru returned "home". This is just my opinion though
  13. What I'm not satisfied with MLA's ending is the fact that the ending tell us vaguely that what will happen to the MLA universe when Takeru returns "home". Yuuko expected MLA to end in a decade but with Takeru's OS, equations (probably steps to make a quantum computer) and a bunch more, another 2 decades were gained. She also said that the MLA's timeline will go on on it's own and I was kinda hoping some new TSF or tech ("force fields", beam weaponary & etc) will be made within those years. Maybe humanity successfully reclaimed the earth from BETA and next step is to reclaim the moon & mars. As a matter in fact, Yuuko still remembers Takeru after he had left the MLA universe. It's in the early parts of the clip( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNi6G5JpcBs ). More importantly, what happened to Gouda from Akane Maniax? He should exist somewhere in MLA, right?
  14. Hi, guys! It's me again on another round of VN installation guides for Linux .This time, we'll be trying out Grisaia no Kajitsu on Linux. Current test system spec : - elementary OS Luna 64-bit ( Ubuntu 12.04 LTS ) - Wine 1.7.12 - PlayOnLinux 4.2.2 - Latest copy of Grisaia no Kajitsu from Fuwanovel https://fuwanovel.net/novels/grisaia-no-kajitsu Part A : Prep work 1) Make sure Wine and PlayOnLInux both are installed on your system. If it is, launch PlayOnLinux and choose "Install a program". 2) A menu will popup. On the bottom left corner, you should see "Install a non-listed program". Click on it. 3) Another popup will appear. Just click next and proceed. 4) Select the 1st option. This will make a new virtual drive where the VN will be installed. 5) Name the virtual drive. This drive also can be used to isolate programs so it will not conflict dependencies with other programs. 6) Next, this menu will allow any extra tweaks be done before installing any program. Just tick the last box and click next. 7) Most programs will have high compatibility if installed in 32-bit. So, that is what we are going to do. You'll need to install the VN dependencies for running and installing. Most VN would require : - DirectX (More preferably ver. 9 & 10 ) - Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime ( To be on the safe side, install all ) - DirectSound ( 3D sound effects ) - Fonts ( You already know why ) 9) Now, navigate to the Grisaia folder you got from Fuwanovel and launch it. Use "install.exe" Part B : Installing Grisaia 1) Since the installation process is Japanese, the fonts may not appear as it should. Just click through until the program installs Grisaia. This menu show where it will be installed. No need to worry since it's all in the virtual drive you made earlier. Now you have finished installing. Click ok to continue. 2) It will ask what exe file to be a launcher. Choose the " bootmenu.exe ". Somehow, Grisaia does not start if you use the grisaia.exe, I think . 3) Rename it so you can recognize it. PlayOnLinux will ask you again for more shortcuts to make. Click on the 1st option to make it stop asking. Part C : Applying the english patch 1) As you finish. a new entry will be made. Select "Grisaia no Kajitsu" and click on configure. 2) In the menu, go under miscellaneous. Click on "Run executable file in this virtual drive". You'll need the patch installer to run in the same drive for it to work. Navigate to the english patch installer file. 3) The patch installer will launch and automatically install the patch to the VN. No, not really. You'll need to click on it to make it work though. 4) After finish patching, untick the 2 box. There's no really need to launch it right away, it is? Click on finish to end patching. Part D : Final tweaks 1) Now, launch Grisaia. But, where's the start button, you say? Since switching the unicode of the virtual drive to Japanese locale will crash the program, you'll have to live it . But never fear, I am here to help. - 1st bar (unclickable) = Install Grisaia ( no need to, do we? ) - 2nd bar = Launch Grisaia ( Somehow, all 5 letters might actually be "Start" ) - 3rd bar = System Settings ( All system modifications can be done here ) - 4th bar = I have no idea - 5th bar = Uninstall or Repair ? Still no idea - 6th bar = Close/exit program 2) For movie playback problem or blank screen during movies (OP/ED), open up the system settings. In the far right tab, you will find a checkbox to disable movies. THE END. Now go enjoy yourself. EDIT : For those of you who want to watch the opening or ending videos, you can get them from TLWiki http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=Grisaia_no_Kajitsu#Downloads
  15. Thanks a lot ! It's probably due to reading many blogs and sites which show how-to's . I guessed that it would be much more easier for everyone follow the step instead of reading each line and figuring out how each step looks like . Anyways, I made this guide to help any other linux users (could be applied on PlayOnMac) to run this game as it was my favourite VN
